Amulet restrictions is Meh. Should let any amulet to be used and have a (x) min fight limit. After the limit then implement restrictions. But this will be nothing but a burst fest and who has the better ping. At least let them use Carrion as an alternate for the Condi builds.

Also restricting the Mesmer so they cant inves and reset the fight. But nothing to the Thief.

(With the above I mean no disrespect it just curious observations. Good luck to who ever enters and wins.)

Thief should have Rejuv GM trait banned. Which is the one causing to regen in stealth.

Suggestion:

  • Make Staff 5 an evade: the ini-cost is insane for the long animation it does. Anyone with eyes can see it coming and interupt/blind very easily. Making it an evade (duration of jumping into the air) would make Staff alot more playable
  • If the above cannot be accepted, atleast lower the ini-cost + casttime by half

I would suggest the following aswel:

  • Make Staff 5 either an evade (while going up in the air) and keep ini cost/casttime/damage the same
  • Make Staff 5 same as now but lower ini-cost + casttime but higer damage

Staff is bad vs players who know how to play. You won vs d/p thieves as staff thief? That means they weren’t good because D/P hardcounters staff, with shadow shot alone.

Exactly. Your Vault didnt got blinded interrupted or evaded? You had really skilled opponents.

It’s called baiting and blind removal. You guys should really look into it.

Same reason a hammer warrior and necro can land hits on a D/P Thief :P

but the thing is Ele is not OP without the cele amulet. nerfing ele will kill the class itself, but removing or nerfing the cele amulet will not kill ele or any class.

Ele is really the only class that is over the top OP with Cele. Nothing else is even close, how come you dont get that? Cele on war? Nope,. Cele on guard? Nope.

So stop with the nerf Cele and fix the OP Ele.

BECAUSE ITS NOT CELE AMULET.

They have had this kind of bunkering and surviving ability for a while… you would know if you actually PvP’d…

This QQ started recently thanks to the burning update…. lot of classes can bunker like ele, but that comes at the expense of giving up DPS….

With the burning update, ele can now add DPS as they can ramp up their burning damage from all the mightstacking they got…

Its not the cele amulet dude…It just happens to be the optimal amulet to use with this OP spec… they could delete cele amulet and nothing would change… Ele would still be OP with knights or carrion or settlers or w/e… they will continue to be OP until the actual spec is altered, not the freaking amulet.

I dont know if u played in 2014 but everyone was already complaining before WTS 3 and WTS 2 (Cele Meta). We are complaining about eles for over 9 months. Burning was already ticking quite high and was the way of killing the opponents. Now they just buffed the main weapon by buffing burning. It just got worse so now even more ppl are complaining.

Ranked shouldnt be meant to test builds and is ruining other ppl fun.
I had a team with Dragonhunter, Tempest, Rev and Power Ranger in my team, lost very hard. Other team was more serious and wasnt testing build.

Matchmaking is ALREADY worse than allowed.

Doesnt matter if the LB is up or not, the general idea about Ranked remains the same for most.

I see alot more casual players using very weird/non meta builds in Unranked.. Because most share the thought of playing Ranked being more “serious”. Despite the inactive LB.

I also have to note that despite the smash dodge is revealing you from stealth, they should increase its radius, because its hard to aim it in an actual fight.

I agree as a Thief main.

Staff is beyond bad due the following reasons:

  • Auto-attack needs to be faster
  • Skill 2: doesnt go towards the target but right where you’re looking at, which is bad. Imo it should work like Heartseeker and go towards the target. It should also hit 1 target more while going through it.
  • Skill 4: too long casttime, range is fine.
  • Skill 5: too long casttime

Overall, the staff feels clunky, not smooth as I thought it was going to be. I do like the way its going but it needs some work here and there. And thats what a Beta is all about, which I highly appreciate tbh.

Another thing is the dodges in Dare Devil traitline, the GM traits.
2 of the reveal you in shadow refuge when someone is attacking you in the refuge.
While the dash (same as staff skill 2) feels clunky while engaging into melee.

I feel like Marauder/zerker staff isn’t going to be a thing, but more for a Hybrid (Cele).
Going into marauders with Staff is plain suicide right now.

Physical skills are meh.. The elite is fine and working as intented, though. But the physicals arent worth leaving Shadow Refuge and Shadow Step. Which only leaves one utility slot for a physical.

We’re just trialing a new system on Battlefy where teams can chat to eachother straight away in their matchup.

If ppl are getting used to this system, the Tournament will go faster and smoother and the Stream/Shoutcast should start sooner aswel

Why the downscales on the tournaments, did you loose staff?
A shame that AG is not evolving into a more professional scale but rather the opposite.
As I would like to compete I will probably not be able to help administrating the tournaments but I can ask around if this is the reason.

Let there be no doubt – AG is an excellent initiative, I am simple surprised that it hasn’t received better support from A-Net with permanent servers and a form of reward for the hosts to keep things running (in case this is the reason of the amateur’ish downscales).

Has nothing to do about Staff, let this be clear.

Its more about having a smoother Tournament in the long run, when everyone got used to the new system. So as admins we only need to jump servers (or use our own as we always did for teams who dont have an arena) to check out how it goes.

It will be quite chaotic first week, but surely will be clear for ppl later on, as we expect players to be mature enough to understand what they need to do.

If not, they can always ask and we’ll help along the way

Starting Monday 7th of September, teams will have to bear in mind the following new way of working:

  • Team captains must use battlefy chat to organise their match with the opposing Team’s Captain. You can enter your match-up chat by going to the current Tournament Battlefy Page > Brackets > Your Current Matchup (click on it) > scroll below to see the chat. Both captains are expected to use this chat. Reason why is the following new paragraph.
  • Teams will have to utilize their own servers. Once you contacted your opponent’s captain by using the Battlefy chat, you decide between eachother who’s arena you’re going to use. So if Team A doesn’t have an arena but your opponent does, you’re going to use his. Other way around same.
    However, if you both do not have an arena at your disposal, please contact an AG admin ASAP, as we can offer you an arena to use. Bear in mind that this can bring some delay depending how many matchups and arenas we have at the same time.
  • While you’re organizing who’s arena you’re going to use, we also expect you to submit the score yourself on the exact same page the Battlefy Chat you used to contact eachother. Team Captains should do this. Keep in mind submitting on YOUR matchup, so always doublecheck you’re on the right page.
  • Last but not least, before you’re starting the match, we expect both teams to check accountnames of your opponent’s team and compare them with the list they signed up with, to see if they match. You can do this easily by right-clicking the opponents name > Report > name will present itself.
    If you see any accountname not signed up in their team but present in your arena, please contact an AG Admin ASAP

They increased the CD. That was a nerf. Now you’re asking for an increase in healing. That’s a buff. If they nerfed the heal and found it was in a good place, why would they buff it?

During the trait revamping process, ANet openly said that Withdraw’s CD was getting raised, but to compensate it would heal for 10% more. This change was never actually implemented, and to date no explanation has been given.

Assuming that ANet decided to leave it that way because it’s “more balanced” is silly. I suppose Thief being the only profession in the game that still has a weapon range increasing trait (as a hidden and unlisted effect) is also their “balanced” intention, eh?

No we’re saying Withdraw is a heal most would kill for and they increased its CD noticed 100% of Thieves still used it and therefore thought “well its still stronger than every other choice, increasing healing is then foolish.”

Don’t pretend “we were promised something” > actual balancing. Devs should change their mind if they notice their balance choice didn’t weaken the skill enough to require the healing buff.

Zzzzz.. pls get the point.. its not about the actual buff, its about COMMUNICATION around it. After 2 months they still said nothing about not giving it 10% heal increase.

WHAT I DO NEED is Anet telling us they’re not giving it instead of providing random lies and having players wait for months on nothing.

This is one of the reasons why ANet doesn’t tell us their plans (did the Dev say, “We promise to add 10%…” or “We plan to add 10%…”?)

Letting that aside, as you will tell me it’s about communication, I can agree that they should have said “We are not doing so in the end”, but that dev might have just told a “plan”, nothing 100% sure. I personally haven’t seen any post trying to discuss it.

With fearless communication, they would quickly stop by here, tell that they decided to withdraw (huehue) from that decision and that’s it. But guess what? People would whine “but you promised otherwise!”, which is a normal thing on this land these last months. It’s a person on his own judgement who has to come here to bring “explanations” that won’t be well received.

I’d suggest you to take a break from the game until HoT hits the game, like I’m doing. I haven’t left completely the game, but I play far less than before. Either they completely win me with HoT features or they will slowly lose me.

I agree with one of your things, Cele eles. They should do something with them. I wish some nerfs for them come in the next patches… They also make Tournaments less enjoyable to watch. I can handle two same classes in a team, but three and four is just waaaay too much.

Also, I strongly believe that matchmaking will get better as weeks pass with the Pay For Free model and HoT coming out soon with their Leaders. But that’s just my wishes!

If they are just planning things, why bother typing it all down, reherse it with your co-host and show it on a very long stream? Doesnt make sense since 95% of all other things did happen.. Except heal increase on withdraw.

Idc about it, I do care about the communication around it.

Alright then, I’ll take your word for it. It wouldn’t surprise me the slightest, but I think the OP has already done enough spreading of the negativity for everyone.

Because Taunt is not working how it should be, and you know it as a Ranger. A skill going through evade frames makes it seem the game is broken.

Im asking where the promised increase in Healing was to Withdraw. Not asking to buff it.

If they would’ve said “hey, we’re just gonna increase the CD and not the healing” that would be fine by me. But nothing has been said so I’ll keep waiting for it untill they say they’re not going to do it.

For example: if Healing Signet on Warrior was getting a nerf to the passive healing but resistance is promised with it. You only get the passive healing decreased but no resistance and nothing has been said about it, wouldnt u ask where it is, honestly? And atleast wait for an answer from Anet?

Engineers with ‘Elixir S’ x 2 + Vamp runes is too much if you ask me.
Not to mention their blocks and stealth/moa :/

Im seeing a grow in Soldier Engineers using this build, as it is a bit too rewarding for making too many errors.

Either a nerf will come to Vamp Rune or CD increase on Elixir S.

The Elixir S trait has proven to be more of a thorn on the side than anything else, more often than not it will trigger right in the middle of your healing turret combo and stuff. Plus it’s just pure invincibility, you don’t do jack and CAN’T do jack during these 4 seconds compared to certain classes.

@Denied This attitude is why they stopped being so transparent in the first place. They announce what they’re planning on, but things change. Then people get upset. If thief is strong without it, I don’t see any reason to complain about it. And as for eles, I agree, but it should be fixed soon.

Thief is far from strong (currently), I said thieves are ok in Conquest as u said they are in most teams.
They’re not in teams because “they’re strong”, you know that, Olrun.
Only good for mobility or +1 as we cant really fight 1v1 as Mesmers can..

You realize the longer queue time is because it’s spreading the metaphorical net it casts to find you a match, right? So the longer the queue time, the higher the potential difference in skill levels between the teams. I do believe it has a cap as to how much it spreads that net, but as a rule of thumb: longer queue = less balanced match. That’s how pretty much all matchmaking algorithms work, and it’s a population problem, not likely something Anet can fix.

To address the other points: condi mesmer can be a little silly, but I don’t really see it enough to think it’s a big issue. Cele eles are an issue, but I know that Anet is addressing that. Taunt on ranger is all that makes them viable at the moment. It’s a broken mechanic, but nerfs to Taunt will need to come with other ranger buffs, so it’s not something that they should really rush. Lastly, thief is still fairly solid in the meta. I don’t see why they’d need to buff a class that’s on pretty much every team.

Its not that thief needs a buff, its more like they should give what they presented/told us they would.

I know how matchmaking works, but aslong they’re not fixing the issues at hand, pvp will be forever empty.

6 months for, quite simple really, nerfs is a joke. When other classes got nerfs within hours/days..

This is seriously getting out of hand with all the OP spikes in PvP.

  • Condi mesmers are useless but beyond broken in any 1v1 engagement when “SoloQing” (for so much SOloQ there.. >_> ) and should get a nerf LONG TIME AGO. They even destroy CELE ELES without doing any effort.
  • Cele Eles, like really Anet? Despite Tournaments even FIXING PVP FOR YOU, you do nothing. Im really disappointed in you, close of quitting the game. If you’re going to wait untill HoT release to balance, I’m out to Blade and Soul EU, which is far more balanced for a NEW GAME and atleast aiming to go esports.
  • Cele Signet Necros.. I dont think I need to explain this either..Right?
  • Taunt is beyond broken on Rangers, goes through dodges, EVERYTHING. Still no fix!
  • An example to what was promised us, as thieves, 10% heal increase on Withdraw instead they only gave us a 3s cd increase and no heal increase.. This was 2 months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still no 10% heal increase, a disgrace for no communication around it!
  • Matchmaking is an absolute JOKE. Evan Lesh even quoted himself: "Ranked will always have higher wait times than unranked because it has a smaller population of players. The only way to compensate is to make worse matches. This will be a different story when Leagues start though ". What kind of excuse is this??? Ppl are queue’ing to enjoy! Not to cry over ppl who can’t even understand Conquest and are chasing offpoint like some hotjoin heroes, ending the match in 500-100 or a 4v5. 6mins queue to get together with ppl who dont even get they need to cap instead of winning Mid Fight 24/7?

Get yourself together, despite going f2p, you’ll lose alot of potential ppl with the huge lack of PvP support. Balance every 6 months is a joke.

All you’re doing is throwing sand into people’s eyes with the F2P and HoT hype, so the misery you’re giving us in PvP is forgotten for an hour.

Veteran players like myself are sick of this! Be honest and admit your mistakes and deal with them asap instead of letting the PvP community run empty.

Im even getting toxic myself. Not because of the community, but due your lack of support in PvP

Oh and to top it off, I had new players yesterday in Queue, friends playing together. Wanna know what comp they were running HUH?

Had couple of 5v4’s yesterday, made me ragequit the game. Never had this before in my entire life.

Dont care if its DC or he left the game, punishment should be given.

They (or their connection) is ruining our fun.

Imagine if we were in Leagues in 4th – 6th league.. We would actually lose pips or tiers due someone leaving.

THIS CANNOT BE TOLERATED NO MORE.

New update to ESL: You can only use one class in each composition of 5 players. Choose wisely.

Lol, not quite, but there is a rule preventing the 4 ele team comp now

“3.11. League Specific Rules
Each team needs to consist of at least 3 different professions”

If you have to limit useage of builds that have nothing to do with bugs that’s sad.
If every1 was on a different class coz of tourney rules anet would think their balance is good coz ingame where most of the ppl play its still a thing.

I’m sure Anet notices when all Tournament are changing rules like this all of a sudden, there’s something wrong

Well-time burst. If they play staff they will be most vulnerable when trying to attack you. Its the same with any weapon set they use really. If they go full defensive mode I imagine it would be a bit hard to get them, but 1v1 on point should make for a fun fight.

Staff will be trash. S/D and D/P will be the problem…

D/P wont be a problem at all, it has to drop Shadow Arts or Deadly Arts to use Daredevil as trickery cant be missed..

If they drop SA; bye bye D/P in teamfights due random condis. Because as D/P, u cant dodge and damage at the same time.

If they drop DA; bye bye D/P in support due low pressure and Improvisation.

S/D wont be a problem either since Flanking Strike got a hard hit. If you still struggle vs an S/D, despite the extra dodges, I have bad news for you.

It means ppl will have to l2p again vs thieves.

Thieves were already in a small spot, cornered and bullied by faceroll random condis in Conquest and 1v1’s.

Let us breathe for once.
