I stopped playing WVW because of 2 things:
1) Takes way too long to run back to wherever you were if you died.
2) Way too much lag.
If they fixed #2, send me a PM and I might try again. Otherwise, I’ll probably keep avoiding it.
I think this is a good time to post what I’ve said over the years.
Supply and demand does not work when resources are infinite. Supply and demand is a model that works when resources are limited. When resources are low, demand creates an increase in price. When supply is plentiful, prices go down.
But that is not the case when resources are not finite and the economy is player controlled. And here’s why:
As long as mobs are spawning, bosses are spawning, loot is dropping, then the supply is not finite. They’re not limited. Thus prices should never go up. The reason prices are high is because people are trying to bank on mats that are used on a hyped piece of armor or weapon. It’s not that mats are limited, nor are there a low amount, just look at the amount of mats in the TP. At no point. NO POINT can every single mat of a given type be bought out to create a high price for high demand. There are plenty of mats. This is nothing more than player greed, NOT SUPPLY AND DEMAND. Even if every mat of a specific type was bought out and the TP drained, there wouldn’t be a crisis for long as there are players still killing, getting loot and listing mats on the TP.
Everything is always limited because there is a limited number of people playing this game over a limited amount of time with a limited number of boss spawns. In some cases, drops are also time gated which is another limit. Just because things are not physically limited ie: real world timber vs in game virtual trees, does not mean there is an actual unlimited amount of ancient wood that can be produced.
The next reason why mats are high goes back to this stupid idea of supply and demand in an environment where supplies are always within reach. If players would stop undercutting and list for more, the economy would do quite well and people would actually make money, from selling mats to farming them.
People undercutting each other is what makes an “efficient market”. There is an actual financial theorem that if there is any arbitrage to be made, people will exploit that arbitrage to the point that it doesn’t exist.
Here’s why:
If prices were listed for even a copper more rather than a copper less, those that vested in the TP would make money. Prices would go up, yes. But they would reach a point where players would not pay for those mats and go farm for them, causing prices to drop and reach a point where prices were acceptable and people would go back to buying mats on the TP.
You just undermined your own point
Another things that would help the economy is to stop the rush for ascended gear. Ascended gear and legendaries are supposed to be culmination of months, perhaps a year or more’s worth of work. But since Anet tested raids in Ascended gear, it’s supposed to be the only way you can raid, despite raids being completed in exos.
It could also be argued the rush for ascended gear is because there isn’t really an “End game” except for high level fractals which REQUIRE ascended or to your point raids which people THINK requires ascended. Either way, you can’t just artificially demand people stop wanting ascended gear. How would you even accomplish this?
We didn’t need a new leather farm, we just needed drop rates and patterns adjusted in the existing world. That excuse about not enough time and resources is a joke. It takes less time to change a number rather than make a new map, put in the new mobs, make the damage stupidly overpowered and then create a back way in, just in case you can’t make the gauntlet run.
This is the one point where I 100% agree with you. Elonian Leather and Spool of Cord need to get their recipes adjusted. That would have fixed everything. If Anet was worried about an economic crash, just reduce each leather input by 1 every month until the leather prices reach the desired price. Very easy, very simple.
I actually liked the salvageable items from the new maps gotten as event rewards. Why ANet didn’t just fix the salvage rates for kitten leather from those and tone down the hardened leather resources needed to craft things is beyond me.
The fix, in my eyes and with my limited information, was simple; adjust the salvage rates and crafting needs to find a happy medium.
Why do it the easy way? This patch makes me wonder if Colin came back to anet
Bad news, I have never heard of this working for anyone other than reporting gold sellers.
After playing more I want to update my feedback on the leather farm. It’s not “underwhelming” as I first reported. It’s basically a waste of time. I can go to SW or Bitterfrost, farm generically, and spend the gold on leather and it will be more productive. The salvage table for the bloodstone leather or whatever it’s called is terrible. It gives 80% thick leather which is already the cheapest leather. For people trying to make Elonian Leather Squares, the leather “farm” is completely useless.
Ran the leather farm for another hour today. I can say definitively, if they don’t fix the drop rates from salvaging, nobody will be here in a few weeks once the novelty wears off. We’ll all be back at SW because it will be more efficient to just farm SW and buy higher priced leather and whatever they were hoping to accomplish will be wasted effort.
I have to admit I was hoping for an ongoing event kind of like Bitterfrost except the reward would be all different kinds of leather. I farmed the event for probably 45 min and it really didn’t put a dent in the amount of leather I have in the bank. I think it was barely enough to make one spool of elonian cord consdiering you need 4 thick leather to make 1 refined thick leather square.
The map is great but the leather farm is underwhelming and meta activities don’t seem as rewarding as places like Bitterfrost.
But that means the farm does what they wanted it to do: It’ll tank the price. Perfect.
The point is that it will temporarily tank it, people lose interest, leather rises, but not back to the point people are willing to do it again because they are already onto a new map or activity. Obviously a new source of leather will, in the long run, reduce the price of leather. That isn’t in question. The question is whether it will reduce the price a meaningful amount in the long run. Also, this farm seems to only address the cost of thick leather and nothing else.
Finally, you have to compare whether it makes more sense to do this underwhelming leather farm or to just farm SW and buy leather at a higher price.
Excelsior.
Some “old” artwork (and with some I mean 5 files) are available as PSD in high resolution.
The Eir one need to be tweaked on 16:9/16:10 resolutions.I am using Zojja (of course, Asura Master Race^^) on my Surface Pro 3 because of it’s High Res Display.
These files can be found in the HD Asset Kit (one file ranges from 60 MByte up to 200 MByte as PSD file that can be read by many paint programs).
The demo of the contents below including resolutions.
I have to admit that I actually like the Bookah and the taller Bookah detail-wise pretty much!EDIT: You are right though, when I think about it, they might have all the Photoshop PSDs lying around in these resolutions as well. Maybe they could provide this in the future, which would be several GBytes for “just a few images” :-)
Awesome heads up!! Thanks man! I’m at work now but I’m so excited to DL the asset kit and get a cool GW2 4K wallpaper going when I get home =D
Now that high resolution monitors are becoming more common, are there any plans to release wallpapers at up to 4k resolution? The artwork you guys create is really amazing but stretched out to 4k they don’t look so great. I would love to use these wallpapers but just can’t do it right now.
You will have to purchase those episodes. That is the same for any Living Story Episode.
Thanks!
I missed S3E1 so I don’t have access to a couple maps. I DO have HOT. If I have a friend or guildmate who has those episodes unlocked, can I do his story with him to unlock the maps or will I have to go back and buy that episode with gems? The teleport to friend doesn’t work and, in fact, destroyed my gem when I tried to use it to visit a friend in Bloodstone Fen.
Thanks
Just put some conditions on the vote:
Must be more than 5 minutes into the match
Other team must be more than 250 points ahead
Other team must have more than 400 points or your team must have less than 100 points
At least 4 out of 5 people must vote yes
I would also really like this
such as BDO, which looked quite good?
As someone who played a lot of BDO, it is very fun up until about level 53 at which point you will need to go to the eastern part of the map where you will be ganked relentlessly. The problem with BDO is there is NO END GAME CONTENT. Essentially the end game content is “gank newbies”. So unless you love getting killed for no reason at all by unkillable higher level players, the game really isn’t great.
Also, you said you played GW2 a lot, remember how all you could do for a precursor was throw stuff in the mystic toilet? If you loved that mechanic, you may enjoy BDO because that game has the worst RNG of any game I have ever played in my life, ever.
I have a coworker who is hardcore into WOW. I don’t know how much time you have to play but you CAN play WOW “for free” if you play enough because similar to how we can buy gems with gold, you can buy wow game time with in game gold. So theoretically it’s possible to play for free. Also I think it’s free up to level 35 so if you want to try it out, there’s no reason not to.
ez answer, just use this calculator:
So basically you have screwed over casual PVE players, entirely. Thanks…
If your expectation is that a small group of casuals will be able to fully upgrade a guild hall, you are greatly mistaken. I also am coming back from a long break and I remember guild halls right before I left. I was part of a small guild and the guild hall task was just too great. You should just join a large and established guild and you’ll have a lot more fun. Here are my suggestions:
1) Try out fractals, they are greatly improved
2) I know you don’t like pvp but just play some anyways because you can earn ascended gear stupid fast if you play ranked (I needed 3 more ascendeds and got them in only 6 hours!)
3) Check out the new mastery system and think about building a legendary with your friends. It’s mostly a bunch of treasure hunts which can be kind of fun
I would PAY GEMS to have my characters craft faster. But I would NOT pay gems if the item was soulbound. It needs to be an account wide buff since my professions are split across multiple characters.
That does mean we’re ignoring what people are saying about solo vs premade.
ROFL
Freudian slip?
Check out an area called the silverwastes. It’s the best thing to happen to GW2 since frostgorge boss train
People are always going to leave or afk and if they up the punishment, even if it was a permaban from GW2, people will just do the bare minimum to not get caught. This is the reality.
Instead of thinking of ways to punish people who AFK or leave, why not fix why people AFK and leave in the first place? hint: bring back solo queue to minimize the 100 to 500 blowout matches.
While characters in Guild Wars 2 is more customizable, every single hero in DOTA or champion in league has scorns of more data to consider.
Lets look at the simplier game, League of Legends, here is the stats for the support champion Alistar.
Health 613.36 (106)
Attack damage 61.112 (3.62)
Health regen 8.675 (0.85)
Attack speed 0.625 (2.125%)
Mana 278.84 (38)
Armor 24.38 (3.5)
Mana regen. 6 (0.8)
Magic res. 32.1 (1.25)
Melee 125
Mov. speed 330They have it set to the kittening 3rd decimal point.
The (parenthesis) is the calculations for the champion level, not only does every single champion in League of Legends is attemptably balanced at level 1 but also 18 more levels. That’s not even considering items or other abilities.
Here is a fun fact about League of Legends: League has a scaling critical chance instead of a flat. Bonus internet points if you can tell me why that is so vital in competitive play.
By comparison, Guild Wars 2 is pathetically balanced.
Why have a base 1,000 precision? For what reason do you give every character a base 4% critical chance? Are you really going to give every character a small critical chance just for Sigil of Rage?
Why does Rampage transformation take 25% less damage?
Why can you blind an Elementalists Tornado?
Why does Updraft or Overcharged Shot have no casting time but still has to be cast unlike Mantras, which also have no casting time but can still be used while disabled?
Why do shatters have no clear animation?
Why are there so many bugs?
Why are there still weapon show exploits?
Why does blue side get the advantage in Spirit Watch?
Why Skyhammer?
Why did ArenaNet decide to destroy the PvP community with Dhuumfire?!There are just no excuses for a lot of things, sure, a lot of these can and will be fixed, changed or improved. But I have very, very little faith in the combat design team after BWE1 Chronomancer, it’s almost like they have absolutely no focus in any combat design or just lacking creativity :\
QFT. LOL has 127 Champions and over 300 items. If we want to get into difficultis in balancing, I think the permutations of 127 champions with 300 items is much higher than GW2’s 8 professions and 20 amulets. Not to mention Nova’s point that during the game the character scales to 18, not to mention that summoner’s have 3 different skill trees to twink their character, not to mention a rune book….
Oh yea, and League has a solo queue and 32 million players…
You can see on pvp guild websites, some of them schedule unranked time as a warmup for before they head into ranked. So yes, there are absolutely try hard premades in unranked.
I don’t think the losing streak would be so bad if they were 450 to 500 losses. I think the problem is there’s a lot of blowout matches which basically means matchmaking isn’t working at all. We’ll see if leagues fixes it but I doubt it.
Hotjoin is hotjoin. Sometimes I join and leave because I’m trying out a new build. I’ve even left the winning team because I just “hot joined” just to try something out.
If you want people to not leave, you can try ranked queue but be prepared to get frustrated if you only solo queue. I stopped bothering with pvp past dailies because all I get are noobs who don’t even know how to cap points and I’m against premades that are just farming pugs.
Its funny how ppl assume level has anything to do with experience.
Last 2 weeks ive played on a lvl 7 thief with starter gear on. Yet ive played 8000+ rated games in total and spend most of my time in the top 200.
Sometime u play vs someone with a second account or an alt character.
When u look at this screen it shows how at first ppl where making fun of me. Telling me to level first, or go unranked. Another guy asked me if it was my first time playing thief in pvp.
4 minutes later where i dominated the opposing team in one of my best games as thief so far. With multiple 1v2s etc…
All of a sudden i get all the praise and ppl tell me how amazing i was.
I don’t have a problem with player lvl, you never know when someone is on a smurf account just can’t be bothered to use their tombs of knowledge. Sometimes a lvl 10 person is better than a lvl 80 because the lvl 10 person basically just lives in pvp. I think the real problem is getting put on teams where people would rather rush into a 1v3 at mid and die rather than re-cap uncontested home.
Hopefully leagues will help put beginners with beginners and advanced people with advanced but I am thinking Anet doesn’t care about this and will still be putting mixed up skill levels together just to get farmed by premades. Especially given the new ESL $400,000 prize pool announcement. I think all their effort is going to pushing for premade esl type teams and let any casual or solo players be fodder. Too bad for Anet the vast majority of their paying subscriber base is NOT comprised of ESL teams.
RNG should be used as little as possible because it doesn’t form a sense of progression. Dungeon Tokens are an ideal system of progression because:
A) A player knows exactly how close they are to their goal
B) The player can CHOOSE the reward they want
I would much rather have far far out token goals than have a RNG goal where the drop chance is unknown. Without a sense of progression I’ll just go play something else. RNG is the exact reason I stopped playing Warframe.
Speaking of warframe, please don’t let your game turn into this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXn5dK4gYwA
Alright, you got me. I looked away for a second thinking it was a lucky thing to go read some random dev posts and request a blast gyro buff, then I come back and wowza. Another one. Before the game of ping pong goes further, I might need to stop to not be mean to op >.> But ye, this is impressive stuff. And peeps be sayin no one listens to pvp community PFFFFT Not anymore!
I’ll stop saying it if Josh will address the elephant in the room:
IS SOLO QUEUE EVER COMING BACK?
how can i get the dungeon tokens
if the reward will be reduced which i cannot find party in lfg
Please don’t ask them to think in terms of what’s good for you. Try thinking about it in terms of what’s good for them. If you can’t run dungeons but you still want to play, maybe you’ll buy HOT.
The way I read the economic rebalance post reminds me of Warframe. Not sure if anyone has played it but it’s essentially the grindiest game in the USA based solely around RNG. Probably not as bad as what they have in Korea but terrible by North America standards. I stopped playing because the developers were proactively looking for ways to increase the grind. It was/is a toxic and adversarial relationship.
What I like about GW2 is there isn’t a ton of RNG and the little amount of RNG is generally known. We know what the ecto drop rate is supposed to be, dark matter drop rate, etc… However, they are now saying they want “more scarcity” and they need to “adjust salvage rates”. I highly doubt this is to the effect of “gosh, people are working too hard to get ecto”.
I like that they are moving away from RNG on the Legendaries but worry they’re just shifting the RNG from the precursor to the salvaging which will impact a lot more than just legendaries.
Secondarily, I think their artificial push to make people play what game mode they think is best for us is worrisome. Anytime a game maker says “we know what’s best for you so just take it” rather than “we see the population likes this and we are going to cater to our CUSTOMERS”, I am worried. I can’t imagine dungeons cost Anet any actual cost in real life. They’ve been programmed and haven’t been updated since as far back as I can remember. Anyone that’s run COF P2 knows what I"m talking about (mag gets stuck 50% of the time). So why move players away from something they enjoy that costs Anet nothing? That I don’t have an answer to.
If you go back and look at every single inquiry players ever had, Anet never goes in to say, “A lot of people seem to want this, we’ll think about it.” They don’t work that way. It’s bad customer experience for them to say that, only for it to not happen.
When something is for sure is going to happen, that’s when they’ll chime in that thread and say, “It’s going to happen.”
Actually it’s not bad customer experience. It’s only bad if they don’t explain why.
I think the absolute best customer experience is for them to say “hey we’re going to look into it”. If they fix it they can say “we fixed it because you were right” kind of like the last matchmaking patch. Otherwise they can say something to explain their decision, ie: “We didn’t fix it because we found that 85% of matches are not solo queue vs premade and of the 15% that were, the final score was 90% of the time within 100 points” or whatever scientific explanation they have…. It surely wouldn’t be what I wrote because we know that’s BS, the matches are blowouts and that’s why people are upset but I hope you get my point.
ROFL. I just got a PM saying that this thread got merged. Sometimes I pretend like maybe Anet just doesn’t read the forums and that’s why they don’t know solo queue is needed. So basically Anet went through and saw we all want solo queue, merged our threads, and then continues to just ignore us.
Amazing.
Actually, it’s so they have a count of people legitimately wanting soloQ. Otherwise, you’ll only see 5 threads with 5 replies to the same topic… stretched out amongst the other threads. This thread, along with others, would eventually get burried in the other tabs.
Be happy that a Mod is actually seeing them and merging these topics together for a solid count. If you haven’t realized it already, it’s kind of how they make major decisions.
Back on topic
There’s obviously a lot of, casual, players wanting a SoloQ. Even though I only play Ranked, the game as a whole really need it. That’s not to say it needs a leaderboard or League system. It absolutely doesn’t.
I understand why they merge a thread, my point is that nobody from anet will even acknowledge this is a concern. If Evan came on here and only posted the words “A lot of people seem to want this, we’ll think about it”, I would feel better. Instead we get merged into one topic and still nobody at Anet can even bother to acknowledge this is an issue.
If you go back and look at every single thread relating to solo queue, Anet has remained utterly silent.
ROFL. I just got a PM saying that this thread got merged. Sometimes I pretend like maybe Anet just doesn’t read the forums and that’s why they don’t know solo queue is needed. So basically Anet went through and saw we all want solo queue, merged our threads, and then continues to just ignore us.

I dunno why you are complaining about a guy camping the hammer? How hard is it to go there and have a proper 1vs1? That’s what i do and i love it.
Proper 1v1? That’s the most ridiculous thing i’ve ever heard unless your main is a necro. Explain how it’s a “proper” 1v1 when the skyhammer area is like 10 feet by 20 feet and a necro can fear you so that you run 15 feet right off the platform.
Because there’s no balance on that map. You want to know how to win basically 100% of skyhammer matches?
Play as necro → Go get the skyhammer → if anyone tries to take the hammer from you, fear them off the edge → profit
You afk or leave a match, your account gets deleted. Watch how fast that would solve the problem. But I guess we can make do with Dishonorable. Need to make it harsher with competitive cool downs or something at the least and not like a minimal 5 min. but like 30 min. to and hour.
/Surrender was needed ages ago.
Yes that’s a very realistic solution outcome. I’m sure it would work exactly the way you expect. Nobody would just screw around for the remaining 5 minutes pretending to try. That wouldn’t happen. Also just deleting people would definitely help increase anet’s revenue. Yep, no unexpected consequences in your plan, it’s really well thought out.
You must be a politician in real life to have come up with such a great plan with no unintended consequences.
I only want for people to keep competing.
Well you know what they say. Crap in one hand, wish in another, and see which fills up first. You can wish for a perfect world where everyone tries hard but that’s a fantasy land dream.
The REALITY of the situation is there are plenty of people who afk or d/c at the first sign of losing. Then there are people who shouldn’t even be in the match they’re in and are just feeding the other team. Then there’s the entire solo q vs premade q issue where people are getting blown out 50 to 500. If you think that dishonor is going to stop these people, feel free to keep living in your childish fantasy land. People will do just enough to not get reported or will just take the dishonor on the chin. Your “solution” won’t actually solve anything in the real world.
No its not same.. What are you talking about.
If a team pulls it starters, they replace it with bench warmers. So its still the same number of players.
AFKing is different. You are missing a player.
/smh
The chance of a team who is losing by a large amount swapping to their bench warmers and winning is zero. The chances of a 4v5 in guild wars making a huge 300 point comeback is zero.
My point is that surrendering, everyone going afk, some people going afk, putting in your 3rd string team, it is not different in regards to the outcome. The outcome is a loss.
we don’t know this for certain yet but the system had a “weight” value to games, basically games where odds were stacked against you held a smaller weight than those where you were the favorite contender.
what this means is that a solo player could lose vs premades 3 times 500 – 0 before losing 1 rank point and if the games were close (higher than 300 points – 500) you could keep losing indefinitely without losing points.
i think we are going to see some iteration of that system in place when the leagues hit.
I think the main point is if people keep losing 500 to 0, pvp pop is going to fall out of the bed. Right now Anet wants to encourage premades because they’re trying to make GW2 a legitimate Esport and I think they intentionally want pugs to be farmed. It’s a short sighted strategy that’s going to backfire because the vast majority of pvp players aren’t running in premades.
Resigning should only be available on 3 or 4v5s or someone deliberately just tantrums and wanted to afk
I disagree. Lets say you have a few underperforming or the other team just has a strategy that’s obviously going to win. If it is to be limited it should be only for when there are 150+ point difference (a lead that is nearly impossible to come back from). If team has determined they have no counter for strategy against them why should they be forced to hold out the entire duration? That makes no sense. Again, the /resign feature I’m recommending would work as it does in GW1. The entire team has to agree to resign not just a single player saying “I’m out”. It seems several replying to this thread don’t understand that.
A few things,
I dont understand what GW1 PvP and other games PvP have to do with GW2 PvP simply because GW2 is different from every other game. Also i pointed out that this is a very vocal cry baby community and when your solo queing i dont want the person who quit because he lost a 1 vs 1 and claims the other players build is a troll build to simply say im going afk so let everyone just resign. When you say its a team quitting, that is a lie.
Also you said in most real sports you can throw in the towel. What team sport can you do that in? This is 5 vs 5 conquest not 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 anything. You cant quit in soccer, football, basketball or vollyeball. Saying were esports doesnt give people the right to just quit because you decide how you want it to go.
I have had some serious comebacks and some serious let downs in PvP. Being up 200-300 points only to lose because team mates got kitteny and decided to stray away from made us effective from the start. 2 people heading to beast, losing trang and stillness, 2 people going for lord and dont get it. Conquest allows for anything to happen and i wouldnt of had those matches if we allowed this community to quit when things got hard.
I like that you keep bringing up the professional sports argument. You realize that in pro sports people pay money to watch these things right? They aren’t playing out the match for anything other than to get their paycheck. Every team pulls their starters when they know the game is over. If a team pulls their starters, that’s basically the same as someone in GW2 sitting AFK. They aren’t trying to “make a magical come back”, real life isn’t a Disney film.
The reality of the situation is that this kind of thing happens all the time in solo queue. That’s the whole reason I suggested a surrender button. I would much rather have people just leave in an orderly fashion than go AFK and waste my time putting me into an unwinnable match (which you think is always winnable no matter what from your previous arguments). The sooner I can get out of a match like that, the sooner I can queue for a new match that hopefully isn’t f’ed.
I still don’t understand how you deal with the cognitive dissonance of coming on here to QQ about how you got screwed in a match while in another post say “no such thing as an unwinnable match, you can always make a come back” and “I love to just keep playing even if I’m losing”.
For the rest of us who live in reality, there will always be people like this who F up a match, who either AFK right away or DC when things look bad. I don’t want to waste my time, I’d rather be able to leave and queue up another match. You said you feel differently, so if you do, don’t come on here and QQ about it.

So this is how it went down.
I went home the other 4 went far. This is kylo and 3 of them died on far from a treb shot. The thief on my team pulled out and came back to help me at home. So i was fighting a guardian from the start of the match and the enemy thief free capped mid. The enemy thief then came to me.
At this point ive been fighting 1 vs 2 for about 10 sec and all my utility’s are on cooldown except rampage. I see the thief on my team come and he jumps onto the other theif. I go rampage and down the guardian. I go for the stomp and he gets picked up. I look up at the top left at the health bar screens and the thief on my team is almost dead. He then went into hiding the whole match and afk. He and the mesmer on my team didnt leave the match but hid in stealth for decaps to get points until the match ended.
They didnt full cap, they each got 20-30 pts and just sat in non fighting areas of the match. It was crazy to see 2 players quit when the game score was around 80-5 and sit there for 8 min and do nothing while me and 2 other players just kept playing for the sake of it.
Seriously Anet, this is a huge problem especially if your solo queing
I asked for a surrender button so I don’t have to deal with the kind of stuff you’re describing and had someone tell me that no match is unwinnable and even if he’s losing by 300 points and he has FUN fighting 1v2’s. Does that person sound familiar?
If you want I can go back to your old post and quote you about how fun it is to play in a match like this.
Just to put it in perspective. In PvE you can get 10g per hour. Putting in 150h and you get 1500g.
They will need multiple keys per track just to make it 50% effective as PvE farming. I don’t think anyone requesting PvP to be as rewarding as PvE, but at least make it 25% as rewarding as PvE.
Where do you make 10g an hour in pve? running COF all 3 paths will get you like 4.5g in about 30-40 min but then you can only do that once per day. SW isn’t that lucrative either… If you can’t say in forums please pm me, I’d love to make 10g/hr
Everything in videogames is p2w if you wanted to be realistic. Someone with dual 980ti’s and gigabit fiber and a 4k monitor is going to be at an advantage over someone playing on a 13" laptop with integrated graphics and 1.5mbps dsl.
Maybe Anet just can’t figure out pvp without the help of Morello who is now at Riot. Is it just coincidence that GW2 pvp is a mess and League of Legends is absolutely killing it?
One person does not carry a game in development.
If so, then Neopets > WoW
Yes but one person can at least set a uniform and organized direction for a company.
ie: solo queue, matchmaking priorities, or how prof balance is implemented.
TBH I was kind of just joking, I really don’t know how involved Morello was at Anet. I do feel like pvp has been a mess lately and they are trying to salvage it with Leagues… we’ll see how that goes.

Strange, I experienced quite the opposite.
As an aura d/wh tempest I was able to stay alive and keep my team alive in outnumbered situations easily (spvp), even 1v2ing a burn guard and a d/d ele for about 7 min and having enough time to mock them that they can’t even get through my Diamond Skin. The build actually really plays a tad differently, more “healerish”, than d/d or staff support.
I also tried a s/f Fresh air marauder and it was fun, especially with the air Overload, which is actually ridiculously strong on points. However staying alive was quite difficult, even more so with no support from the team. But I must also add that I don’t really shine with s/f fresh air.
All in all, I don’t see me playing tempest in a pvp setting in any other way than as a support, which in my opinion is not that bad as the forums make it look.
I’m not sure how you did this. Diamond skin only applies if you’re > 90% health and if you’re doing a 1v2 you don’t have enough stamina to dodge all their attacks. You get 2 dodges, with energy sigil maybe you get 3. If you had a focus you could do Earth 5 which maybe buys you time to get one more dodge, but you are using warhorn? So I guess they hit you and you use water 4 or something but then what?
The 2 would have to be incredibly incompetent to have not gotten you down to 89%.
If you said 1v1 maybe… but a 1v2? Come on… it sounds a little outlandish to me..
I tried out Chonomancer and I think that might be my “go to”, it seemed like it has a high skill cap but is still fun to play. We’ll see how hard they nerf the warrior rifle build since I do have a lvl 80 warrior.
I tried out Reaper which seemed awesome, will probably go with that for PVP.
