I don’t like this idea. As a cleric I don’t think it suits the class.
Mace and shield 100% cleric. Hammer still fine since blunt weapon. Greatsword… not really; but can pass as some sort of paladin. Sword and torch is also acceptable as it looks like a zealot. Focus also suits the cleric.
But anything ranging dual weilding, battleaxes, axes, warhorns, longbows, daggers and simillar just doesn’t fit.
A dual-sword guardian can fit the zealot look too imo.
Though there are professions in this game that wield weapons that most people would do a double take when seeing them in action; see Greatsword mesmers.
Still, they’re in the game and ArenaNet can make them work as I’m sure they’ll be able to pull off an off-hand sword for the guardian.

“Everyone running with Twilight and Sunrise” “pure grind and RNG” “rich people or no-life grinders/farmers”
All I see in this thread is pure and blatant overexagerations and envy. And I don’t even own a legendary.
Some of the legendaries are impressive looking, but even if they are not, they take quite the effort and dedication, that’s enough to impress me. If you bought it directly with gold, or cash>gem>gold, good, you are supporting the game we are all paying nothing to play (besides the box ofc), impressive as well.My answer is yes, definetly, I wish I had one, or two… but I don’t have the time and I’ve been waiting for craftable precursors since they named the great scavanger hunt back in beta (?) as I’m a little turned off by the mystic toilet. Even then, it will be done mostly alone by me playing the game normally, as a long term achievement.
Excuse you? I’m not jealous of the player running around with a Legendary. It’s great that they have one, but I don’t give a skritt either way. Let’s face it, Legendary weapons are going to become a common sight the older the game gets, because that’s something almost all players go for once they hit 80 on one or two of their characters.
Does this diminish their value? Maybe. I mean, it’s clear that it is seeing the responses in this thread.
Personally, I’ve never really found any of the currently obtainable Legendary weapons that impressive due to personal taste.
I find a player wielding Infinite Light far more impressive than a player wielding a Legendary. Though I guess since you can buy it off the TP, it isn’t that impressive too.
I mean, while skins are the “end game” to Guild Wars 2, I always felt that the way players use the skins they’ve acquired is what makes them cool.
Who would every think an “Achievement” would ever be hard to do.
Well… Technically it isn’t a challenge to get the achievement, what’s making it difficult is the amount of people at the event. If anything this is more of an artificial challenge than anything else.
Again pink weapons? The mists weapons weren’t enough? Really ANet, stop doing pink things.
You make it sound as though all of the new skins are going to be pink…
Why don’t we wait until we see ALL of the new skins being added to the game before saying anything.
Seriously, are they doing anything about that? I’m starting to think the dragons may have learned from the last time that eating everything completely wasn’t a good idea, and are just consuming in moderation…but that’d be giving them too much credit.
Or maybe they got bored and just send up their minions for amusement. Maybe they found “nirvana” or whatever and decided they didn’t need to eat everything to be happy.
Ok, in all seriousness, I am wondering when we’re actually going to do something about that, because it’s like the world has forgotten they’re still out there. Or do the dragons have to attack Lion’s Arch before anyone notices? Sigh.
“We could attack and wreck everything while they’re celebrating again…but that’s too much work. Leave it to our minions, they’ll figure something out.”
Bear in mind that Zhaitan rose over 100 years ago in-game, and Primordus rose over 200 years ago. These guys have been around for quite some time, so devouring the world obviously takes a while.
And…the world still held parties during this time.
There is ‘holding parties’ and there is having a society that seemingly completely forgot dragons exist.
Considering how Orr has never been affected by any LW events, I kind of doubt that they haven’t forgotten about the dragons. Though I feel that areas like the Brand, and Frostgorge Sound shouldn’t either, it seems as though the threat of the Elder Dragons present there isn’t enough of a threat to hinder the festivities.
Does anyone find it funny how the former arts district got replaced with a massive coliseum meant purely to show to sport of armed/unarmed combat?
I’m not trying to make some underhanded statement about the arts needing more funding, while sports tend to have money flung at them, but it is kind of funny!
Well, if we’re looking at the Guild Wars 2 main story… It’ll be a zombie movie with a big kitten monster and a fantasy twist. I really doubt Hollywood would stick their necks out for that. Especially since Trehearne wouldn’t make for a relatable main character, unless they overhaul his personality. If he actually had some emotions to him, and we had some better exposition dealing with his character struggling into the role of a leader, then it would work. Maybe.
Now if there was a movie based on one of the books, I’d have to say that “Sea of Sorrows,” would work. It’s still a story about zombies in a fantasy setting, but the characters are actually likable (and more importantly, they’r relatable), and the story itself is interesting. At least to me it is.
If you have to rely on your traits to give you the stat points to increase your damage… I think you need to rework your build.
Traits should never account for stats, their main purpose is to adjust your play-style accordingly, and the stat boosts should be taken as a supplemental boost. Nothing more.
At least, that’s how I’ve always taken it.
step into a loading screen :P
That.
Wouldn’t surprise me tbh.
Each zone is in it’s own instance, having the hot air balloons travel from their spot to Divinity’s Reach would be impossible the way I see it.
As a native Spanish speaker, from Guatemala but living in the US, I don’t think that using the Spanish forums is a bad thing. Just start a few threads directed towards players from the American servers that speak Spanish. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind sharing thier space with us. Si somos compadres mano!!
Though I would like to ask ANet; why isn’t there an American server for Spanish speakers?
It’s the second most common language in the US, and it wouldn’t surprise me if people from Central and Spanish-speaking South American countries play this game too.
Posting to ask if there’s anything that can be done about this?
Which makes me wonder why Southsun Survivor is in that list… Was this an error on the writer’s part, or did we just get a spoiler on who won the election? :o
It’s a great move. If you don’t think some speed bumps needed to be added to cof p1 farming, then I’m sorry. But it did need to be done.
Really, where else are we to farm then? They destoryed Orr, and now CoF, there is no available way to make relatively quick income.
I take it you decided to skip over the boost to champion loot then? I mean, there are plenty of places you can go that have events that spawn in a bucket load of champions with the proper amount of scaling. Heck there are even events that just drop one into the world for anyone to take apart for the sweet, sweet, and succulent shinnies they’ll be dropping. Will it be the same as CoF1? Maybe not, but you never know since we don’t have the update available to us. Still, while I guess it’s sad to see a farm go, I’m glad they added what could be a fun farm in its place.
Where’d that screen come from?

Well, for one, the Fellblade is not a sword, but a greatsword. Two, the effects on both bladed weapons look to be very different, so I still think that the Fellblade is still going to have some intrigue to it.
Charr tails clip on almost all armor sets unfortunately…
For others, in that linked thread the norn images were just a few posts up from that one:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Post-a-pic-of-your-character-only-if-your-armor-is-mix-n-match/page/14#post2471236In addition to your charr, the Heavy Aetherblade Gauntlets on my asura also do not have the ability to change the color of the glowing blue area.
Seems to be yet another “go human, or go home” situation, as armor for non-human gets the short end of the stick once again.
Actually, from looking at the wiki page for the heavy armor set, it seems as though male humanoids got screwed over too. Only female humanoids have the option to dye the glow on the gauntlets…
Ok. Just to help me to clarify, what I should do (In order to get all the lore) is:
1 – Buy Gw1 Key, to play Prophecies content.
2 – Buy Factions expansion, To play 2nd content
3 – Buy Nightfall expansion, To play 3rd Content
4 – Buy Eye of north expansions, To play 4th ContentAnd I’ve just read about “Beyond”. Should be good buy and play it? I mean, how much money I’ll invest to play all those contents? Worth it?
Beyond is the predecessor to what the Living Story is today. It was a series of free permanent content updates given to the Guild Wars 1 players as a means to keep them entertained while Guild Wars 2 was still in development. The stories in Beyond help shed some light on some of the more predominant lore found in Guild Wars 2. Specifically the events that lead to the exodus of non-human races within Cantha, and the battle for Kryta’s throne.
Actually EoTN is it’s own self-contained story. The only aspect of it that relates to Prophecies is Gwen and some of the different interactions between the two dwarvan factions, though the later isn’t that predominant in the main plot. You can play EoTN without having touched Prophecies and not get lost in terms of the story.
According to this post on Post a pic of your character only if your armor is mix-n-match, the glow sections of the Aetherblade Heavy Gauntlets. Though other glowing sections seem to be dye-able on their character, going by their screenshots. Now they have a female norn, while I have a male charr, so I’m a bit confused on this subject; Is this a bug, or do norn/charr/male/female/ characters have different versions of this armor that have different dye panels?
My dieselpunk samurai
How were you able to get the glow on the Aetherized gauntlets to be red? I thought they only came to blue… :o
It’s actually one of the dye-able options. Plain ol’ “red” looks amazingly similar to the glow on the jetpack and helps to pull the look together.
That’s odd, it doesn’t have a dye-option on my male charr… Please don’t tell me that only female characters got the dye-able option??? :<

I honestly don’t really understand why I Giver armor and weapons have to share the same name. They both give different stat-type combinations, with Giver armor giving Toughness, Boon Duration, and Healing Power; while Giver weapons give Precision, Vitality, and Condition Duration. There really isn’t much reasoning to this choice. Anyone else agree?
I just came up with another possible skill for the off-hand sword!
I don’t have a name for it, but I do have its functionality;
Become a beam of light and shoot yourself to target foe, dealing damage to other foes you pass.
It could have a blast finisher at the end when it stops at the target. Yes? No?
Yeah, I believe it’s as Konig says, and it’s a “swarm,” of karka. Though I wouldn’t be againt a colony of karka as they do exhibit some ant-like tendencies in the way they create their homes.
The way I see it, Jormag does have control over his minions. The issue we’re running into is that the Sons of Svanir aren’t actually minions, but just individuals who worship Jormag. They still have full control of their bodies, and it’s these individuals who kill corrupted women. If it were a creature that had been fully turned into a minion (I.E. a walking block of ice), then they would fully be under Jormag’s control and not really care about women being corrupted just as Jormag doesn’t care who it corrupts. It wouldn’t surprise me that once we focus on Jormag, and visit areas that are under his full control (as in no Svanir, and just Icebrood), then we’ll probably find one or two minions that can be discerned as once being female.
Yeah everything is legal until ANet bans you for doing the exploit….
Just don’t do it. They even say so themselves, if it’s too good to be true, then it’s probably an exploit and should be reported.
I believe you’re thinking of Retreat, which adds Aegis as well as Swiftness. Aegis itself is the boon which blocks the next attack you receive.
Hello all! I don’t know what to say about this… Considering how I purchased keys to get the ticket scraps (lucked out and got a ticket and enough scraps for another), only to find the one weapon I actually wanted wasn’t there.
What the flying heck!
Yes, I know I should have checked before hand, but then why would they switch out what could be one of the coolest weapons in the game for a woodcutter. Why?!
That’s assuming that there’s someone outside of the zerg that has the lowest amount of health in comparison to those within the zerg, which I don’t think will be very likely.
Ohh sounds great! going to infuse when I get more laruels thx! Saved my day
sounds great only sadly its not true
Did you infuse only one, or both?
maybe because the only weapons sold directly on TP were the most awful skins this game ever seen?
This is a subjective opinion, and will always be present whenever ANet releases new weapons via the Gem Store. Obviously it will vary, but it still stands that not everyone would have jumped at the past RNG weapons had ANet released them as direct buy.
Meh, I like the idea of voting but this release seems light on content. Also more RNG bullcrap, but at least the scraps guarantee you get a reward after a number of tries.
Balance changes seem allright, but I fear Warriors becoming even stronger in PvE.
We got two new mini-games and a story instance, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the instances will continue throughout the week like with Dragon Bash, though that’s just a prediction. Still, I do agree that this seems more on the light side of things, but that isn’t always a bad thing.
@TriggerSad: You will need 5 tickets if you want to buy it after this event.
Aetherblade weapon skins have been added to the Black Lion Weapon Specialist. For two weeks only, Aetherblade weapon skins cost only one Black Lion Claim Ticket! After August 5, Aetherblade weapon skins will cost their regular price of 5 Black Lion Claim Tickets. All Aetherblade weapon skins are soulbound on use and can be traded until used.
Really, “only” one ticket? Was it ever more than one? Also, the addition of the ticket scraps might help the players to eventually get the weapon but on the other hand it forces them to buy at least 10 keys (if they’re lucky), what makes the skin cost minimum 900 gems.
I think a lot of players would prefer everything being free, resulting in Anet making no money. But I bet you there would still be complaining!
All I want is a fixed price for the skins (even 700gems), not another rng.
And Anet needs to make money. They’re a business. I’m confident they looked at the metrics and realized this is the best balance.
And if it isn’t they can always tweak it. I mean, it’s clear that they’re learning and making adjustments as needed. Hopefully with this we’re reaching the end of the RNG roller coaster and end it with something that is as fair for players as it is profitable for ArenaNet.

If it’ll cost five tickets, then it wouldn’t surprise me if the drop rate of the tickets is going to be better from we’ve seen in the past. I could be wrong though, so we’ll have to see for ourselves…
From the sound of it, it also seems as though these new tickets are going to be universal; so if you don’t get one now, you can always hold on to it for a future event that has weapons that you like.
Well, I wouldn’t say that the charr view the human gods as a challenge they have to defeat, as much as they see the gods as powerful beings that supported the humans during the (roughly) first half of their war against one another. They know the gods are powerful, but they don’t feel the need to kneel down in front of, and worship them the way that the humans did.
If anything, Evon taking interest in the human gods just goes to show how the charr think of them as more of a thing to study and not something to reverie. Taking a look at how Abbadon, a former god, fell will just add more information that the charr, and the other races, can see how beings with extensive amounts of power can be defeated.
Addendum: I just thought of a good comparison that could work for Evon’s interest in the fall of a human god. As an atheist, a friend of mine read the Christian bible, and other religious texts for a semi-long period of time. He wasn’t really interested in finding (a) god, as much as he just wanted to learn more about what makes the people that follow certain religions tick. Evon could just be satisfying a curiosity that he could have had for a while now.

Am I the only one who wants to see another Fractal involving the stone giant from Cliftside..? Seriously Charlie (the name I dubbed him to the much annoyance of my guild), needs some more fleshing out! I want to know where he went, or why/how he got captured!!
I love sword since I go with a bit of a hybrid build on my warrior, I don’t think I use nearly enough condition damage.
Still, it gets the job done, and is even better with off-hand axe. Mainly because I use a Superior Sigil of Earth along with the bleed on crit trait. Going from a Whirling Axe (which can get a few stacks of bleed due to the Sigil/Trait combo) into a Flurry (which also benefits from the combo while applying its own bleed stacks) is way too much fun!
Just for a bit of advice; when posting the gear you’re using, don’t write the name of the skin, but of the actual stat-type. An example being that you wrote down “Flame Legion Helm,” instead of the actual stat-type. Now I can only assume that it’s Berserker (Mainly because that’s what’s in right now, and easy to get from CoF), but I’m just blindly guessing. If you don’t know the names for the different stat types, here’s a link to the wiki page if you’d like to know;

i think there is an Overwhelming agreement…. Guardians need to inherit

this.Also…
wouldnt mind something like this for my sheild
Considering how we already have two/three adaptations to Ray of Judgement in this thread, I’ll have to agree with you! xD
hmmmm i’m still stuck at 1k achievement points chest because i dunno what zenith skin to choose.
waiting for a better skins unlock system.
Isn’t there a limit to how many chests you can have waiting to be opened before they get deleted??
I’ve gotten quite used to getting these chests everyday. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when my chest fix runs out. :o
Sadly my the floor around my desk started flooding due to a pipe breaking, making me disconnect my computer. Sadly it is the only computer in the house with a Guild Wars 2 client on it (my brother’s computer can’t handle games anymore, and I’d rather not use my parent’s work computer), so I’ve been chest-less for the last two days… Ugh, I want the shinies~!!!! (/>_<)/ ’ ’ ’
sigh time to get a second mortgage….
Not sure this has to do with anything presented in the thread but I’m sorry for your troubles I guess.
Uhh I think he meant that as joke, meaning that he’s going to become broke trying to craft a Legendary because of this new change it’s going to get.
My guess for why they have a verification salvaging Masterwork items could be because at one point they thought that this level of rarity would be one more common among the player-base, and that Rare and Exotic would be harder to come by. At some point they made the two higher tier items more readily available, but forgot about the Masterwork items needing the verification. This is just pure speculation though, so take it with a large lump of salt.
From a post on mmorpg.com based on a conversation with Colin:
“the team is also working very kitten finding a way to make it so that every profession has access to every weapon and their own weapon skills for those previously locked weapons. Engineer plus Hammer? Check. Again, there’s no specific timeline for this, but a new progression system is coming.”
Edit: LOL at the kitten…
I can’t thank you enough for linking this =o I can’t believe they said EVERY weapon! That seems like a bold process. It could be more manageable if it’s done one weapon at a time >.>
Fun fact: When Guild Wars 2 was still in development, it was said that at some point they had every profession use all available weapon-types in the game. They decided to cut down the number of weapons on each profession for balancing reasons. I guess they’ve changed their mind on this stance! Which makes me happy in a conflicted, “I hope they know what they’re doing,” kind of way!
Yes, Lion’s Arch is a city founded by pirates, but it is a city with laws. Hence why they have a ruling party in the form of the council.
It would be counterproductive if they were to allow a woman currently on trial for having a member of the Captian’s Council murdered. It’ll be an insult to the institution on which the city was created for; a safe haven.
