here’s my thief, all black is too cliche so i went the all white route

for my backstab build (d/d & d/p) i’m running zerker helm, coat, and pants. Then soilder shoulders, gloves, and boots. Valkyrie weapons and trinkets. Trinkets have ruby jewels in them. Armor have sup runes of divinity. Sitting at 100% crit damage with 40% crit but using hidden killer. Lots of stealth, and lots of crits. That being said, the Valk + Soldier combo is good too, more power less crit chance, but it’s a non issue when using hidden killer.

Ok not sure if this has been posted yet or not (searched and couldn’t find anything). I run a D/P and if i stealth up using the blinding powder + heart seeker combo and then use steal on an enemy the tool tip at the bottom says i’m still in stealth but my character shows the “leaving stealth” animation. Actually I don’t even have to be going at an enemy. If i’m stealthed and hit the steal button it triggers the leaving stealth animation. It’s pretty annoying.

dont forget the short bow blast finisher for combo fields, i can combo field up my party in multiple situations to give us the heals, might, whatever they throw down.

I would play the ever living kitten out of a Quaggan. Imagine any of the professions as a little Quaggan, holy kittens that would be cool.

well as far as the zerg goes…we are playing an MMO…can anyone tell the class what MMO means? exactly. On the note of farming, i’ll farm some champs for not even an hour and then move on to do other things…i’m still having a blast in this game. No one is forcing you to farm. Just play the game and do the content you like. If you don’t like any of the content then quit playing, simple as that.

Farming or not, it is still epic every time seeing tons of players in one map all over the place fighting battles, then the final push to take down scarlett is just awesome. The high point for me with this LS was during an invasion on Mount Maelstrom on CD. We had the typical farmers and achievement farmers friendly bickering back and forth in the map chat. I was hoping all over the place killing champions and minions. Then all of a sudden we were down to the final sliver of minions and even the champ farmers were making a push. Scarlett came up and it was a mad dash to her location. I don’t think i’ve ever seen so much dps on a single boss in this game before. Seconds were ticking down, her health bar shrinking. It was a real edge of your seat moment. Then right when the clock hit 0:00, we did it. The map chat erupted with “FUK YEAH!!” “HELL YEAH” “WOO”. It was probably one of the best moments i’ve had in this game. To me dungeons are fun and instanced story quests are fun, but man…that invasion melted my face. I for one love the invasions, done dozens of them and love every min of them. Well done Anet. Now…lets just fix the WvW matchup system (just look at this weeks scoreboard for CD if you don’t know what i’m talking about)

The saddest part of all this is we are getting rolled hard, and still gain points. That’s just wrong on any number of fronts.
They truly need to work on their randomization, because week after week of this will lead to the outnumbered servers either A. Losing guilds or B. Losing hope and participation.
Adjust the volatility of the matches at least. PvD cannot be that fun for the bigger server. The middle server has to take points where they can get them, and the smallest server has to deal with; well, this.

Have to say that for myself I call it a night sooner than normal the last few weeks. This week I find myself thinking back to Blackgate times with some of the zergs we’ve seen. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind a good zerg, but our guild left BG thinking we could at least partially escape that meta.

Here’s to hoping Friday will change things somewhat.

I was thinking the same thing, how are we gaining points…it makes absolutely zero sense. What are we suppose to do, literally not play for a week? Every friday i’m hoping for a fun matchup (the last three weeks have been huge let downs)

I love it when people who have their own “complaint posts” in their post history criticize other people for complaining about the game. It’s sort of like: “When I complain, it’s perfectly justified, but when you do it, you’re ruining my fun and wanting the game to cater to how you feel”.

Bottom line is that everyone who bought this game is entitled to give their feedback. Anyone who is tired of reading other people’s feedback should take a break from the forums. Go outside. See the sun. That kind of thing.

The only complaints i’m reading is “i don’t have time to do anything else but the living story” or “i HAVE to finish all the achievements” or “I HAVE to farm this event while it’s here” or “i’m burnt out on the living story” stuff like that. No one is forcing anything on these players. You don’t have to do any of the content. You could carry on and play the game just like normal. Sure everyone is entitled to their feedback but when their feedback is crying for a change or removal of something that would affect thousands of other players who are enjoying the content, that’s where I have an issue with it. Hell I wasn’t big into the Queen’s gauntlet so you know what I did? I played on other maps, wvw’d, did some dungeons, etc. I didn’t cry for it to be changed, etc.

Anyone run into a confusion warrior running the new runes. I saw one last night and he completely wrecked the thief he was fighting

Oh i’m sorry you’re tired of the LS, here all the rest of us will step aside and stop enjoying the content so you can take a break. My god the amount of threads today about people saying they want the game to cater to how they feel is unreal. If you need a break, GO TAKE A BREAK! The game, the community, the gold, the LS’s, the achievements will all be here when you get back.

I agree. Since the start of the queens jubilee i have been unable to do anything other than farm champions and Living story achievements. The spacing between Invasions is around 15 mins apart, by the time you sell all your champion loot, you go right back into it. Much like the Gauntlet farm the event is to profitable to not do. I have not ran a dungeon in over a month and have made over 300g. Granted i could have made much much more, but at a certain point grinding deadeye and champions turns into a chore and i just don’t want to play. Take an additional week to iron out some of the flaws in the LS content, and let people get back to WVW, pvp, and other areas that are neglected during the onslaught of temporary content.

Why not just stop farming then? There’s more to this game than just gold ya know.

I must just be wired differently, most of the achievements for these LS I can sit down and work on in a couple hours (aside from the time gated ones, which usually don’t take long to do each day), I set a personal goal and say to myself “bet you can’t do this” and just go to town. Hell the invasions are a blast, get in map chat a joke around, run around KILLING everything with tons of people, all while being timed. On CD last weekend we had a friendly argument about champ farming the event and actually trying to do the event and then we ended up succeeding the event with 0:00 left on the clock, it was the most epic experience ever. I also went out of town for a week a few weeks back, missed some LS and all that…but guess what? So what? There was more content to check out when I got back. I’m currently working on a legendary, and i’m doing that by playing the game, doing LS’s, doing WvW, doing dailies, etc. I’m not going “ok time to farm T6 mats in a specific map for 2 hours” I’m just playing the game and relaxing. Hell I just spent half my gold on dye’s last night lol….and I don’t even care lol because now my character looks kitten. Piece of advice to everyone not having fun with the game, take a break, go outside, breathe some fresh air. If it’s seriously getting you this upset and un happy then you need to stop.

so your burned out? you want the content to slow down? how about YOU take a break…there are others here that are enjoying all the content. I for one am. Also no one is making you do the achievements. This game (at least i see it) once you hit level 80 is all about setting personal goals, get a legendary, get achievements, get map completion, play wvw, play pvp, rp, etc. In nature achievement hunting is grindy, just like getting a legendary is grindy. Re-evaluate what you want to do in this game, and if it isn’t fun for you anymore then take a break. No need to ruin everyone’s fun just because YOU need a break. Also the good thing about all the content is say you do take a break, ok you miss out on a couple releases, but guess what when you come back, there will be another one. At least just take a break and watch the LS releases on the website and come back and try the ones that interest you.

Yup, guest to CD, we have our fair share of farmers (i’m one of them) because as time goes on more and more people finish the achievements and either A. Farm or B. don’t do the invasions anymore. But with all that being said, we have full maps and everyone just devours the mobs so we usually always succeed, unless it’s frostgorge.

yeah the time restriction on the infinite tonic is annoying as hell

anyone looking for the event completed achievement or whatever, simple solution…just guest to a higher pop server during prime time, do event, profit. I’m on Crystal Desert and on off hours it fails and succeeds (depending on the map) due to farmers (i’m guilty of this some) but during prime time, unless its FS it always succeeds.

A. Once I hit level 80 I set a personal goal for myself to get a legendary. So i’ve been playing the game and enjoying all the content but at the same time keeping that goal in mind. I don’t farm much, ill do an hour or two every like 4 or 5 days. I’ll play wvw, do dailies, level alts, just have a good time, but all the resources go into the main “For Legendary” jar.

You should go to LA and ask mapchat who wants duels in the game, that would provide a more representative sample than the same 30 people that show up every time a duel thread is started.

In my experience from LA chatter, most people are either in favor of it, or want to bang my mom. Come to think of it, maybe LA isn’t the best sample…

I would like to see a small instanced arena, that you can take your party into that would allow anyone in the party to duel. This would prevent the “duel me” spam, it would solve the dueling in open world drama, it would allow players to duel their friends. If two randoms really wanted to duel, they just have to party up and then go in the arena. Maybe put the arenas in every major city. They could cast it instead of a dueling arena as a simple “training ring for the great dragon fights” or something. I mean in lions arch near the wvw portals there are training areas…it only makes sense to have a dueling ring right around there. If you made it a set place in every city you would even have players going there looking for duels so they wouldn’t get in the way of the pve’rs.

They could even expand on the arena a bit and have random looks to each arena. Have them different based on city or have them random when you go in, kinda like fractals. So one time you go in its snowy and there are a couple random objects (tree or something) to give the look of fighting in the open world…sorta.

I think something like this could be a solid compromise.

Got on an double overflow last night with very few folks (the main and overflow were full) so we had no chance of finishing the event so we just stacked on the events and champ farmed. Everytime we killed the champs it took out a big chunk of the invasion progress bar so you actually are helping the invasion by killing champions. There really is more incentive to completing the event as the rewards are pretty good. Anyone deliberately failing is just dumb. An hour of champ farming in Frostgorge sound got me around 5ish gold with selling everything. A successful invasion got me about 7 gold with selling everything.

I’ll agree with a few comments already posted, don’t form a solid zerg. Spread out. If you have a commander tag, go to another event that doesn’t have a commander, players tend to gravitate towards them. Also if you are fighting and notice that the zerg has grown in size significantly, port to another event. We did one last night, had about 7 commanders on the map and they were all spread out and no one was zerging too much, and we completely wrecked the invasion. it was tons of fun.

no kidding man, these players are like starving zombies or something, they devour content in a matter of hours then kitten about there not being enough content…no wonder anet is time gating so much stuff lol.

Everyone calm down, it’s release day bugs, they will get patched. Maybe play something else for a bit while they hammer out issues, or maybe….gasp go out side, enjoy some fresh air, let the sun wash over you, feel the wind blowing.
