Rewards very meh I expected at least a guaranteed rare like a world event chest. Takes a bit more time to level than doing a couple of the easy events and far less reward. Is what it is I guess. I played wvw before the change and will still play after just thought we were finally getting something interesting but just more lackluster additions.

Dear god a guaranteed rare every chest would be a bit much don’t you think? I mean those events that you are talking about can only be done once a day each for that rare. Many people can level more than that, And also that would mean that wvw is as or more rewarding as pve and i think we have established that that is a big no no around here.

If you want to level i would ask does your server have a regular karma train rolling and also i would ask if you have a guild. Running with either of these will increase your chance of staying alive and also you will level faster.

If the server says full then it is not possible to transfer there. However if i was you then i would get the gems ready to transfer because sometimes it does go down to high population rather than full. this way as soon as you see this transfer.

I have seen that item pictures have been updated every now and then so eventually i think this will be fixed, but for now as you said its a cool idea with an identity crisis side effect.

Because they are different professions. You can’t really say that just because one professions uses a weapon a certain way then all professions should use it the same way. also the guardians staff has a large cone that can hit 5 people each attack. Don’t try to compare profession weapon skills you might go crazy. And if you want to get technical with the weapons the shortbow is a physical weapon so you cant really get different ranges with it, meaning if you pull it all the way back then it can only go so far. A staff on the other hand is a magical weapon so the user has more control of what that weapon does.

What the hell kind of warrior are you playing that has as much forgiveness as a AH guard? I would love to see that. When i run dungeons on my guard i can get almost 60% of my health back using staff 4. Then i have shouts that heal a bunch and every time a ally stands in a symbol i get healed and then get healed when i crit, when i pop my virtues and oh yeah when i use my actual healing skill. Especially if there is 5 melee classes together i get these healing me constantly and it is very rare that my health is below 70% for very long.

Ahh yes hammerguard you are right, i thought you were just talking about the tier 6 material you are making. So yeah including the dust and the material you need 6 tier 6 materials to make 5-12.

Just a quick reminder for the recipe you only need 1 tier 6 material not 6 tier 6 materials for the chance at 5-12. still i don’t think its really worth it especially since dust is so much.

I don’t mind if they do some DR like you can’t repeat the same dungeon path within a 1-2 hour period. You have to be forced to do other activity or you have to do other dungeon path to reset the DR.

But I don’t like the idea of just punishing people who have alot of time on their hand and play all day.

You do realize that your post is completely contradictory right? Your second point you say you don’t want to punish people that have a lot of time to play all day but in your first point you ask for a way to punish people that want to play all day. If i want to play a certain dungeon all day( say i want to get my flaming weapons from AC why should i have to wait 2 hours before i can do the dungeon again?

As linguistically inept said this is probably a lag issue. I have had this happen before, actually last night in a 3 way for sm lords room. ( lag was kittening awful) The server may show you that the person is on the ground right in front of you when they are actually far away but since the game thinks they are right by you, you can hit F to finish but nothing will happen. Also it could be that the person is actually right by you you hit F and the animation goes through but the action never does so you don’t kill him/her.

Are you aware that Anet added some options that allow you to adjust the number of enemy players that you can see at one time, and also their level of detail? It’s in Options, under the Video settings.

Are you aware that when this game first released i could run it on ultra with 100+ people on screen and my fps remained playable? Even on LOWEST settings (including the ones you mentioned) i still get 3fps in mass battles. Anets problem not mine.

Actually it is anet’s problem because the entire map gets skill lag even if you are on the other side of the map from where that huge fight is happening. Do you really think that the people on tier 1 who have excellent PCs get skill lag because of there end? The problem is the server can’t process all of the input from each player so we get the lag.

Although it’s an ego boost to all Kaineng WvWers that we are deemed good enough for T1 ( sorry bears, no honey for u ) , it might be too soon for our re-established forces.

Commanders need to get together to discuss their thoughts on how to go through next week.

(a) Should we have a break week to revitalise and ignore a super-unbalanced matchup ?

(b) Should we just run academy / training sessions in our citadel and ignore all scores ?

© Grit our teeth and go for numerous 4 hour battles and hopeful learn more tactics but come out sore and tired ?

(d) Sell our services as mercenary forces to either the rank 1 or rank 3 to fill up our server war fund ?

The new matchups will eradicate the meaning of Tiers and matchups will depend on server score plus deviation. The new way to measure success in WvW will be server ranking which is still based on score. After next week matchup, Kaineng’s score will probably decrease which will drop us in server ranking ( Kaineng is 8th now) but I am not sure how deviation will go. Kaineng has an abnormally high deviation due to guilds transferring away a month ago, which means old ghosts coming back to haunt us again. We are in for interesting times folks.

P.S. This potential matchup might change with results from this week but Kaineng’s deviation score is so abnormal we are probably gonna be dumped with 2 other high ranked servers.

So for all of you Kaineng people thinking your going to play tier one next week brush up on your reading comprehension a bit. This is from that post right before the chart.

Actually they will be getting rewards faster then you, well at a certain point. For example if you are rank 100 then for the next one hundred ranks you will get double chests for each rank. The person at rank 260 will be getting double chests for the next TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY RANKS! And as other people have said i think the reason anet did this is to not flood the market with what ever rewards we get from them. Still people should not feel like their time was wasted just because they don’t get the rewards right away.

in the end its the same thing though. for instance player a is rank 50 when he hits rank 400 he will have 399 boxes. player b is rank 150 when he hits rank 400 he will have 399 boxes

Yeah you are right but i think this was the best course of action for them to go because if they gave people that are higher ranks a special benefit then you would see a ton of QQ on these forums.

Not sure why the chest didn’t open. Also the keys are not permanent you need to get them again each time you open the chest.

At first i was thinking this was going to be a bad idea but then your edit changed my mind i think this would be a good idea but not sure if it would really solve that many problems. I think that us refreshers would still be the only people doing it and this would just give us some reward for it. Since people can easily get a few hundred wxp running with a zerg they are not going to break off just to get that few wxp refreshing.

I have sent countless numbers of guild mates and other players to your galleries so thank you for all the work you have put in to them and thank you in advance for everything you will be doing.

As for the money side i would say the same things Vol said. Also you do have to be the race to buy the armor so make sure you can do this before you start. Also you don’t need to wear all the armor just buy it. From the wiki, this will cost 644 gold and 90 silver so you better get farming. Good luck on this.

There will be a system for rewarding players who have already gained ranks. The way it will work is you will have a backlog of 60 chests, if you were at rank 61, and for each rank you achieve after that you will get 2 chests, instead of 1, until you’ve received all 60 of your backlog. These bonus chests should be available for every player who has gained rank prior to the build.

So being rank 158 I wont get all my chests until I get rank 315??

So what if it takes you this long to get all your BACKLOGGED chests. its not like your missing out on anything, or your time was wasted. Now if it took longer to get each level then i could see your concern, but it doesn’t each level after 5 is 5000 Wxp. Think of it this way someone that just starts today playing wvw will need to get 315 levels to get 315 chests you only need to do 157. I would be rather happy if i was you.

Have you been playing since GW2 release? In 5 months of WvW play I only have 109 badges to show on those first months. But then they increased the drop rates of badges and I have 7k badges on my bank and I laready spent lots of badges to get armors and weapon for my alts.

The thing is, you don’t feel that it is hard if you play the game because you want to play it and not because you are aiming for something like the gift of battle.

Thank you very much for saying this i feel that if you focus on just getting the reward then not only does it seem like its taking too long but you will not have fun doing it. Try to enjoy the journey and the goal may come faster than you think. Also if you are in a guild try to run with them. On a average reset night i get about 100-150 badges. Of course this is with a rather dedicated wvw guild so may not be usual.

No, you don’t need to ascended it if you are going to be taking the stats of the capacitor. When you transmute something only the item type has to be the same not the rarity.

Yes upgrading an item with a sigil makes it accountbound. Pretty sure there is a window that pops up when you click to upgrade and in red text it says that it will be accountbound. You should really get in the habit of double reading things that have a pop up window like upgrading and purchasing things it will save you a lot of grief. Like people that bought a whole set of armor with tokens on the wrong character.

Yeah i guess the old way of feeling accomplished is going away. I mean isn’t the whole point of a title to showoff what you accomplished? I like to work towards a goal, it just doesn’t feel the same if I’m given it, but to each his own i guess. Also if your going to ask for handouts why not ask for them to benefit your legendary quest i mean crafting is very cheap comparatively.

Don’t know if you wvw or not but the invaders armor you get with badges of honor comes with pvt stats. Go to your home borderlands and go directly south there is a room with 4 merchants that sell weapons and armor, the closes one sells all different types of armor for gold and badges. A full set costs 5 gold 44 silver and 950 badges.

The one in Brisban Wildlands from East End Waypoint needs both skills to work. Glad I can share this info with the community so people can know where is the problem if they miss 1 diving spot
I don’t know if there are other diving points that need both skills, but I know that this one is a must. Hope was helpful ^^

I’m pretty sure you can get 50% just with trinkets. Also at level 80 you need 21 precision to increase chance to crit by 1. So i don’t think the infusions are worth it at all. really just for a min/max person. And what profession are you because if you can get fury thats 20% crit chance right there.

Yeah because me using “shake it off” is comparable to a Mesmer (who had to do the whole jumping puzzle first) sitting in one place, some times for an hour or more not directly benefiting at all from helping people get the reward faster. In EBG i have seen Mesmers double porting to the chest which takes the outside player about one minute or less to get the chest. I believe that this is a service and they should be compensated for helping others. Remember everyone tip your Mesmers.

It is correct magic find has no effect on chests. This example is just RNG at work eventually if you two run enough it should even out. So this run you got very unlucky and he got lucky.

If you have both the trove and stash upgrades for the bank then you can only allow them to take out of the stash. Then only put money in the trove. I believe this is the only way to make sure they can only take items out and not money.

CoF path 1 refers to the dungeon citadel of flame and doing the first path. the way dungeons work in this game is when your group goes in you pick one of 3-4 paths. Path 1 in CoF is very easy once you know how to do it and people run it alot to get money.

Yeah i agree that it “should” be allowed but I’m not sure so i guess i will not use it. Also i definitely agree that we should have an in game button to open things such as bags (said this awhile ago in another thread).
If you think about it how did the meeting go down for the inventory UI go down. Was it like, person A “you know players really don’t want to have to run back to storage to put this things in lets give them a button to do it”. Then person B says “what about opening all these different bags i mean some players will have to open hundreds of them. we should make a button for that too”. Person A “No…no they will love opening all these bags i would not take away their joy”. Person B “But if people really wanted to they could still open them by hand and others could use the button, everyone wins”. Person A “No they will love opening them i swear”!
OK rants over, anyway Anet please look in to this I really doubt anyone looks forward to opening 250 jugs of karma, and even if there is that minority like i said they dont have to use the button.

There is no “guaranteed rare”. You get a chance at a rare, but that doesn’t mean you will get one. You will get an exotic (or more) every time which you can sell. (once per account for the chance at the rare chest per day/per event and once for each toon for the other chests).

Actually there is a guaranteed rare. Have you done one of these events lately? Once you complete it there is a chest that pops up the same place your daily and monthly does and this has a 100% chance to be a rare or exotic. Also you said there is a guaranteed exotic? You most be extremely lucky if ever time you have opened one of these chests you got an exotic. Again just so everyone is clear if you do one of these events you will get one of the giant chests that has 4-5 items in it that has a chance to have a rare or exotic and also a chest that is guaranteed to have a rare or exotic. That would not work either you can only open missions on your home world. Also the merits would be on the old world. So going back to my above example say you have bounties unlocked on dragonbrand and transfer to crystal desert. since you guys all have the home world of crystal desert you can only start bounties from there and you guys don’t have anything unlocked there.

Yeah looking over that dev post its not really clear if what i want is allowed or not. I think it would not be simply because i “could” do something in game faster than someone that doesn’t have the program. unless i could set the timer for the click to be the same time that i could click it myself. But i doubt that they can detect what speed i have set for the click, and they can only see that I’m using a 3rd party program.

One of the lines in there says does the program allow you to play “faster”, and this would allow me to open bags and jugs faster so i guess its not allowed. That is if Anet considers opening bags “playing”.
