Were you at a permanent rich vein (like the one in brisban)? If so, parking characters is the answer. I got 3 characters parked there and I can’t be bothered to run around after the other single nodes so I just gather rich and re log. I’m sure many people do the same.
Sh _ t, this is a great idea but if I may suggest an add – on to the idea; make both weapon sets visible on character and give each weapon multiple stow locations.
Example, stowing short bow on the leg or hip while being able to carry a sword on back and dagger on foot or waist. You get the idea.
Okay, this is my one hopeful thread of the day. My flickering light of hope for such QoL improvements is already spread thin and if it goes ant dimmer Anet might not see it
This is very unlikely to happen because it would be a huge amount of work for something that would appeal to a relatively small group of people.
They would have to create new stow and draw animations for every weapon, for every race and gender (if each weapon gets just 1 new stowed position that’s ((5*2)19)(2=380 new animations).
Then they would need to change the UI to enable you to customise the stow positions. This would probably require a new panel in the Hero menu, with either check boxes or drop downs or something.
Of course it won’t happen, there are many things to address before considering QoL improvements. With more additions to the game they will have more things to fix later on.
When I write this sort of thing, my hope is that a mod saw the idea and it stuck somewhere in their head and when they are designing GW3, he thinks oh you know what would be a great idea and somehow my suggestion has wiggled it’s way into the Anet development team.
@Vukorep.3081
double or triple the cost to buy lol? At most it’s 33% more expensive than buying mats and crafting but usually around the 20% mark.
Ranger, why? Because kitten mains and you have the other two. Gear all your level 80s, it’ll take like a month max of casual play to buy exotic gear for all your 80s with dungeons, gold, or wvw
Engineer for me is over complicated and I dont have the love for the class to make the excess key smashing worth it for me.
When you get into wvw, and serious pvp the challenge comes from knowing techniques and how to counter other classes rather than playing your own. After 3 days with my engineer the rotations are just as repetitive and boring for me as my warrior is during the boring aspects of the game (daily dungeons, occasional teq, basically all pve).
(edited by Vert.5041)
Obviously you have a fetish for leather, I’d get that checked out.
Secondly play all right now and don’t decide to gear any until you see the class specifications for engineer and thief.
Staff Druid, Hammer ________ (engineer), or whatever the thief will get may change how every class plays radically.
OP, I’m a fully functional adult male with none of the RL issues you face everyday and even I find the game to be more than a hobby. I often find myself spontaneously thinking about GW2 and the few friends I’ve made in game during random activities and even during work or in the middle of a conversation.
It’s definitely a lifestyle and I’m 100% sure that if you asked the populous of GW2 if they could stay home and game all day, you would be surprised at the amount of people that say yes.
Also to Anet’s credit, they have done a good job making you feel like you are part of this world.
Look I know you are disabled and all but I kind of hate the fact that you have a great excuse (sorry to belittle your situation to a word like excuse, if I was smarter I’d think of something more appropriate) to play the game as much as I probably do or at least would like to.
However my envy does not stop me from feeling happy that you’ve found an outlet for your energy and I thank you for sharing your story.
@Charrbeque.8729
LOL. Thanks for that laugh.

I totally know what you mean. Today I saw an AC LFG that said they were at the burrows in p3. So I’m like sweet, free AC run…only to discover they were level 30 and 40s with one other level 80 and I’m like yup now my this makes sense. No ice bow and low dps is a bad combo for p3. However I was happily surprised, we sailed through both burrow parts without any issues and boss was a challenge but in a fun way since we’d lost grast somewhere lol.
After this I came to the realization, a lot of 80s zerk speed ads are full of c _ nts looking to be carried.
When the new players listen to advice and try to be as good as possible it is quite enjoyable to do dungeons with them.
Ammendment:
After posting I realized oh wait sometimes I’m a c _ nt who wants to be carried sometimes. I’ve come to the conclusion that when you do anything in GW2, the experience is largely influenced by the type of mood you are in. Sometimes you have an awesome team of dungeon bots that don’t talk at all and just blaze through it but it can in no way be classified as fun lol.

Although I can understand you point of view, you have to play hot join understanding that it’s for practice.
It also depends on you attitude. For me, when I play hot join I always go on the team with the lower players because that’s the quickest way to refine your skills. I play with the understanding that I’m doing this so later when I do tpvp with my guild mates I can be more of an asset to them.
Additionally, think of it like this. If today is ele and mesmer day, at the end of a few hot joins you will have had significant experience against those classes (although not like fighting vets of their class, experience none the less).
Sh _ t, this is a great idea but if I may suggest an add – on to the idea; make both weapon sets visible on character and give each weapon multiple stow locations.

I am honestly a little confused with this warrior are kitten sentiment. In this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Is-warrior-REALLY-sucking-that-hard-o-o/first#post4742894 @Purple Miku.7032 shows all the dps nerfs warriors have received and a lot of them are just nerfs for all classes in general.
While things like the longbow arcing arrow 15%, and 100b+whirlwind 5% nerf is bad I wouldn’t say that puts the warrior in the sh_ _ter. According to DnT warrior is still at 5th place in dps and the difference between 3rd and 5th is trivial at best considering the amount of keys an engineer has to present to stay in 3rd and the sword aa management a ranger has to do with bosses like alpha in CoE.
Additionally, warriors have not lost their place in the meta regardless of the nerfs so I think it’s safe to say warriors at the moment are generally balanced.
However there are some things that should be changed like the time at which adrenaline starts to deplete after a fight, effectiveness of healing skills besides signet needs to be reworked, and as in the thread @Purple Miku.7032 pointed out the bug with berserker power not applying to burst skills because the adrenaline drains before the actual damage calculation.
These are my thoughts on warrior anyway, I’m curious to know why specifically you think warrior is in the sh _ _ter right now.
This is to be expected. Missing now and again, pushing a bit beyond target when you are close and they are moving is just something you have to accept with a rush like skill, same thing happens on Rangers GS leap but to a lesser degree because the last part is an actual leap.
From my experience, in pve it’s effectiveness hasn’t increased too much but it has got rid of that annoying run in place animation before the actual attack which is nice and in pvp it’s effectiveness is increased a good bit. I’m not sure where this is due to removal of that skill lag at the end making is less easy for opponents to jus side step sometimes or if it’s has to do with the animation being more fluid and hence feeling quicker.

An F skill shouldn’ t deal so much damage. 11k… Are we joking?
I understand you warriors love playing an op class becouse it’ s the only thing you can actually do in this game. But your OP class is ruining other people gw2 exeperience.
I really hope a dev will read this post..becouse eviscerate and i say eviscerate must be nerfed as soon as possible.
It’ s OP and everyone knows and you warriors too.
Hey moron, yeah you. Your longbow hits for 9k with rapid fire, it has a cooldown of 8 seconds, it has stealth so you can rapid fire and half the damage is done before opponent has a chance to react, You can do that damage from 1500 (well lets face it 1700-1800 range). Lets not forget the 2-3k auto attacks…IF with this much firepower you were unable to at least pressure the OBVIOUS ZERK warrior from long range into backing off or kill him outright its your fault.
Oh wait, no one is this stupid. This is obviously a troll thread. Good job sir, you’ve trolled me.
PS: Anet should give 100b a reflect that would make pew pews rage quit (Feels like a Jedi)
Oh my god this, so much of this. It would totally be worth making a legendary GS warrior just for the jedi effect.
(edited by Vert.5041)
If you want to play a class to full potential at range then I’d stay away from Ranger because outside of some utility and burst damage at the start of a fight their ranged play is underwhelming (although some might argue OP in WvW). Rangers truly shine when you learn to micro manage pet effectively, and when you master one of the hardest weapons in the game IMO which is the Ranger’s Sword.
My suggestion is to go with staff ele because it provides the best damage at ranged, has great group utility, and has a high skill cap which you said you are looking for. They can provide multiple fields and have a place in the meta in pvp/pve/wvw.
Additionally, you don’t need to use the F1-F4 keys. What I’ve done is mapped those to ZXCV, hitting them with your thumb is very convenient and easy to learn. Also change up your utility keybindings as well, mine are at QER and T for elite.

You got wreckt by one of the most dodgeable skills in the game and I am afraid it doesn’t get more L2P then that.
Even though people have given you great advice, and my input is just redundant…I couldn’t resist commenting, this gave me a great lol in the morning.
yes guys but please stay on the topic
We are talking about F skills. Don’ t you think warrior F skills are 10000 times stronger than ranger F skills?^ XD
Please don’ t lie and don t make me mad ah ah
Stronger? yes, but only in terms of damage output. Your pets have MUCH more versatile uses. Had you activated any canine when warrior was closing in on you he would’ve been knocked down, Also your pets are doing damage while you can kite the warrior to death (many people forget to focus pet) and even when the do focus pet you can just unload a Rapid fire or maul on them.
Essentially fighting a good ranger is fighting 1.5 people.

Keep dreaming, keep dreaming, keep dreaming
Keep on, keep believing.
It’s like Virginia to Vegas knew someone would ask this question.
Half a gold is not something I’d call cheap, especially when you have to switch everyday to make daily ascended time gated mats.
You want Leatherworker for sure and you can switch between Huntsman and Weaponsmith because you won’t be using them too often. However don’t make the mistake I did by leveling all 3 armor crafting professions to 500 on main character.
Check the dungeons and fractals sub forum. There is this video of a thief soloing mai trin at level 50. Now this is not to say that the other classes you mentioned might not do it faster but it does prove one thing and that is knowing the specific encounter is key in playing any squishy class.
Also because of its inherent squishiness it is very poor class to just pick up and play but I guarantee that if you give it time you will learn better timing and things like better initiate management.
Let’s get the hype train of hope rolling on the rather positive idea that what we saw was in fact the new and revamped turret system entirely, scraping off the cheese from engineers.
I kind of hate threads like this but I love this idea so much I will bump this thread and hold up my feint and blinking flame of hope that someone at Anet sees this for the 1000th time and decides enough is enough let’s give them what they want.
So these idiots want to take away one of the best aspects of the game (zerg busting)? Well I say good riddance.
“more profound effect”? What does this mean? Anet needs specifics to solve problems.
What do you mean “discourage* off hours gaming”?
PvP:
The game is balanced around 5v5s so I don’t see that changing much regardless of game type, unless of course class specifications change things up.
They are adding stronghold so, 2nd point solved.
In conclusion, by the looks of it Anet is taking vast strides to improve gameplay on all fronts…IMO at least.
No changes in class ranks in terms of pvp effectiveness. Cele and might stacking classes are a bit less effective now and the gap between them and other specs is lowered but other than that no changes.
When I think OP, I think of risk/reward on classes and in that aspect turreteers are still king.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a player who JUST did dungeons and fractals. Although I’m assuming the new magguma jungle will be like SW on cocaine and for those doing SW for the ffirst time it’s quite exciting.
Additionally, this whole new specialization update could very well turn the meta on its head and if there’s one thing we know about hardcore dungeoneers is that they will pay anything for the slightest bit of increase in efficiency which is really what dungeoning is about after the first few time you do it.
No gear requirements for PvP. If you are level 22, find the pvp symbol on top left on your screen and find the enter the mists symbol. If you are not 22, go to Lions Arc where you can find a portal to heart of the mists.
Once you are there, you’ll see a helmet like symbol at the top Centre of ur screen. Open it and you can see all the things you can select to make up your pvp build such as runes, sigils, weapons and traits. Once again, the weapons have no pve stats on them so if you need a weapon you can buy ant level one weapon or buy a weapon from the pvp weapons vendor. Same applies to armor.
For classes, start with the one you’ve been using in pve as you know a bit about it and some of the skill locations are already automated in your head. Knowing your class is more important then picking an easier one.
Check out,
http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki
You’ll find all the most common and effective (meta) builds and their corresponding classes for not just pvp but all game modes.
Open world content is quite easy and you will have out leveled a lot of maps by the time you get to them so if you are still doing 1-15 maps then the old lvl 10 gear will work fine so buy gear based on that sort of thinking. I think there are 3 lvl 15-25 maps so lvl 25 gear will do fine even if you are lvl 40 by the time you finish those maps.
Power, precision, ferocity respectively are the stats you want. Buy gear every 10-15 levels and replace with better gear you get while exploring.
Also it’s fine of you absolutely love the idea of mace and shield but if your open to a more effective weapon set I suggest Great sword (great for leap, blind, and mob control with binding blades) and Staff (swiftness, tagging mobs during events, and giving you self a nice boost of 12 might before tough fights).
Don’t even need to be 20, you can use the portals in LA yo get to WvW and PvP. Dueling can be very addictive, especially among friends and if they like that you can tell them about wvw which will give them the motivation to get a char to 80 and gear it.
Exploration at first was a big source of enjoyment for me, perhaps tell them to get out of low level zones and go do explore some higher level stuff. Also enjoy the vistas, granted you need at least med settings for this, some of the vistas are just f_ ki _g majestic.
Secondly, when you and your friends get to level 30 I suggest you do all AC paths but without looking at any guides. At 30-35 all AC will be quite challenging but with some coordination on Skype you can do it. Yesterday, after almost 2 years of on/off play I did arah with some other arah virgins for the first time and the 2 hours we spent trying to get to lupi was the most ffun I’ve had in gw2 for a while because trying to figure out mechanics of a fight is a lot more fun then roflstomping it on first try with an experienced squad.
Lol I love the amount of nub bearbow play being encouraged here. Rangers while fine in open world are a very bad choice. To play them effectively, which is something I hope you are looking for, Rangers are very tough and require you to swap weapons all the time, more so then ele.
Even though you’ve dismissed elementalists I suggest you give them another look. With staff they have the highest damage in game (which is ranged btw) on anything more than two targets and they provide a ton of group utility with staff alone like earth wall that prevents foes crossing it, lightning field to trap enemies, great heals and water fields and a constant fire field with lava font with which you can just give someone a lightning hammer in dungeons and let them give might to everyone.
As far as your reflexes are concerned, unless you have been debilitatingly injured I wouldn’t worry about being a few milliseconds slower then your younger peers.

It’s in Anet’s interest to make the laurels as easy as possible to get. Because it such an important currency and so easy to get it keeps players logging in even after they’ve quit the game just in case they want to come back someday.
Anyway the daily system was just changed and there are no glaring faults with it so I doubt you’ll see any changes for a while.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki
check that for all top builds and their corresponding classes in every different game mode.
In my experience however, only 1/3 eles in pugs even attempt to stack and even they are not always competent.
I’m sure I can’t be the only one ever to party with that 15k AP ele that can’t be bothered to might stack cause “it’s just a pug”.
Bit off topic but I just wanted to point out that might stacking is not liked in pugs.
On countless occasions they don’t let the ele stack might or strongly discourage it through their actions. And I am not talking about newish players but players that should know their way around. So being able to go ps really always is a good option to have.
Although you are right about might stacking not always being facilitated by the group to some extent, there’s always eles I find that will go out of their way to do it. They will yell out pre stack or just start stacking at boss which admittedly is less efficient on things like spider queen but they make the effort at least and I think that just comes with part of taking pride in your role in the team.
The reason I think pugs are often so bad is because of the pug mentality where even vets are sometimes looking to be carried which I hate. But since it is a part of the game you have to deal with it and having 2 guards using empower or a PS warrior make these lazy cu_ _ s more palatable.
IMO go with strength runes because phalanx warrior is essential. I always start as PS and see if the eng or ele will stack. If they do, great go to dps spec. In my experience however, only 1/3 eles in pugs even attempt to stack and even they are not always competent.
Here’s some more math, I’m going to use you number of a 3k loss in dps but you also have to take into account the dps ele gains from camping fire staff which I read somewhere was 1-1.5k. So that’s a 2k dps loss in exchange for max might, EA and 100% banner uptime.
Obviously when you min max on efficiency, PS looses it’s value but the thing about pugs I’ve noticed is it leads to lazy gameplay. I’m sure I can’t be the only one ever to party with that 15k AP ele that can’t be bothered to might stack cause “it’s just a pug”.
Alternatively, you can just go with scholar and throw in a strength sigil on axe so you are still getting might when you swap to axe/mace for vulnerability. With signet or rage, FGJ you’ll still stack close to max might anyway.

Yes because hot joins were the epitomy of fun pvp right? In a game mode where you HARDLY ever see 5v5s but instead 5v4/3s the odd player doing dailies doesn’t make the slightest bit of difference.
Just queue for unranked for some decent pvp.
Also, you are forgetting the positive effect the dailies have on pvp like introducing you to different classes. I, myself for example only used to pvp with warrior and ranger but now I’ve discovered else, thieves, and necros which I play regularly now and I’m sure this could be the case with many other players.
Just realized an easy solution to your question.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki
Go there for all meta builds which will give you an idea of classes, builds and their rank in the appropriate game mode.
(edited by Vert.5041)
As for armor and vitality, I understand its not relevant as most of your damage mitigation comes thru dodging but it does allow you quite a bit of lee way when compared to ele when u take hits so its very easy to play and missing your dodges is less penalizing. Take AC for example, there are no 1HKO bosses like alpha in CoE, so the poison Spider queen is less punishing, the spinning attack by kholer is less punishing…basically everything that isn’t 1HKO or agony is less punishing on warrior then ele or thief is what I meant when I said “a warrior with the best armor/vitality doing more damage then a squishy thief or ele make any sense to you?”
I’d like to point out that most classes that are too squishy to withstand the Kholer spin by nature have sustained ranged DPS, and that the inherent tankiness that you seem to be listing as a strength is a necessity for any Warrior not running Longbow (which is in itself miserable DPS).
And also that Warriors suffer more from poison than the classes you just mentioned.
I’d also like to mention that Guardians outrank us in most aspects should we dare to not bring banners.
I’ll abandon warrior and play revenant until they fix it, when it drops. Anet listened to whining that the damage oriented class did too much damage, eventually the metrics will give them some insight.
Meta mechanics such as stacking make sustained long range dps useless and except for ele there’s no class who has a better long range dps compared to their melee options. Also, ele is usually the one providing might so there goes that long range dps out the window again. Right now the way they’ve built the system there is no place for long range anything in PvE if you want to be efficient.
Also why dare to not bring banners? they are an essential part of our class, and yes while guardians will out damage us with UC they cannot sustain that damage and warriors still come out on top for dps. Yes, now that warriors are not near top dps you cannot stack them but there will always be room for 1 just like guards/rangers/engies/thieves. They all bring unique utility, and the skill required to play each represents accurately their place on the dps chart imo.
And on the poison aspect we agree, I believe for warrior to be a very well balanced they need to change adrenaline to deplete after 10 seconds of ooc and reduce cooldown and healing on mending, or reduce cooldown alone on healing surge.
If solo, I have about 3.6K DPS. If in a group my DPS is up to 5.6K.
That is not burst. That is not a zerk build.
I notice a lot of talk about DPS, but very few people ever seem to post actual numbers.
Don’t know how to do dps calculations to post accurate numbers but posting based on DnT’s calculations is usually accurate, they show how they reached their numbers and are trusted in the community due to having proven themselves correct before.
(edited by Vert.5041)
Not even remotely is it sucking as much as some would have you believe, its balanced right now except the adrenaline which should last a bit longer after you ooc.
PvE: You have top to mid tier dps, best offensive support AND highest armor/vitality.
PvP: Great competitive meta builds available in both condi and power spec
WvW: Crucial part of the blob or zerg, top tier mobility which is great for roamingWarriors fell from #1 dps spot to 4th or 5th and they didnt loose much dps, other classes simply gained more which frankly they all needed…a warrior with the best armor/vitality doing more damage then a squishy thief or ele make any sense to you? Ranger and Engineer do marginally more dps then warrior, which is inconsequential when you consider the amount of keys an engineer has to hit and a single mistake in that rotation could put them behind warriors in dps again. Ranger dps weapon is ludicrously difficult to use and animation locks them which deserves better dps then the dps weapon of warrior which has a build in evade that can cancel 100b anytime.
Just going to comment on a few things here that I bolded.
First of all, going to correct you and put low to mid for your first PvE statement. There are worse classes, but quite a few better ones. Other than that, armor/vitality isn’t really relevant in all forms of PvE unless you specifically are trying to make the tankiest possible character just for laughs. For world bosses, sure, but everything else – naw.
The second thing I bolded… is completely false.
Never at any point in history did warrior ever have the #1 DPS out of all classes. Thieves and elementalists have. Originally, warriors were actually really terrible but Arenanet improved tons of things with the class like signets, banners and traits and warrior was on the higher end of the spectrum. It wasn’t at the top, but it was superb.
Since April of 2014 they’ve been getting tons of nerfs, all of which accumulated up to the point of roughly a third of the damage cut.
That’s quite a lot different than what you’ve said.
I could list off the damage nerfs for you if you’d like proof of it or something.
My bad on the misinformation (if it is misinformation, I know warrior was never the top but as I understand it was near the top where the difference was negligible), thanks for the correction. According to DnT (http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2gol18/dps_ranking/), dps rankings puts warriors at 5th place so if what you say is true and they’ve lost 1/3 of their dps since april before that I assume they would’ve been near the top of the list.

Engineer is very much accepted in all avenues of the game at the moment providing solid dps, stacking vulnerability on bosses, and stacking might for entire party should you have a kittenty ele or no one doing it.
Necro again is a top tier class especially for pvp and wvw and is in fact part of the meta, it does lack group utility and does not have the damage to make up for that fact in pve but that is not something you should be concerned with unless you are going to be competitively speed running dungeons.
For the professions you are going to want Huntsman, Weaponsmith, Leatherworker, and Tailor.
Additionally, with the upcoming changes with class specializations in the expansion things will surely change for all classed so just pick the two you and your brother enjoy and start playing.
Teq is good because it has fixed spawn times and you can build your daily stuff around it, wurm is similar but often you fail and it takes a good hour to get into a TTS map and kill it.
The other events I’d do is Karka queen and shatterer.
Also if pve is just a chore to you and what you want is wvw, I’d highly suggest giving up on ascended all together because the time you spend making that would be better spent dueling in pvp or roaming in wvw. Any form of pvp in the game revolves very heavily around skill and intimately knowing all the classes so you can counter them. The 5% advantage you get from ascended will become trivial when you pvp
Here are a few ways to make gold in the game in order of my preference;
Dungeons, a good party and optimized dungeon train will get you 7-10g/hour.
Silverwastes chest farm, although I’m not a fan I’ve heard from multiple friends and guild members the return is 10+g/hour and is a great source of T5 and T6 mats (better than the 3 you got in Orr lol)
For ascended I suggest you make your priority to get ascended jewelry first so you can do up to level 20 with the versatile infusions alone. Second you should go for ascended weapons you get the most bang for your buck with it, I’d save going for armor to the end.
@Lavitz
Go to any Laurel vendor in game and you can buy an item from them called Heavy crafting bag for 1 laurel each.
Open the crafting bat and you get 3 T6 crafting mats worth between 30-60s each. Sell all 3 and you should get at least 1gold/laurel.
@orangensaft
Thank you for the correction on the laurels. Also after two months who gives a ____ if they do change it, by that time I’d say you’ve more then recouped your costs and are left with a spare account.
Additionally, although your suggestion for 10 accounts seems sarcastic it sounds very valid to me if you were going to buy 8000 gems today to rather buy 10 accounts. After 2 months the gravy would have to be hauled in by the truckloads lol.
Ojimaru’s advice is spot on for silverwastes, although in my opinion mind numbingly boring. For me dungeons are the way to go, there’s a goal beyond just money making which still keeps it interesting for me and that is efficiency. You can play with the goal to get better at your class rotations, stacking might and vulnerable on bosses etc etc.
When I’m short on time I like to run CoF p1, AC p1/2, SE p1/3, and TA up/fwd. That Nets you close to 10g pure cash and tokens. It takes anywhere from 60-90mins depending on PUG quality.
With the recent sale on gw2 I’ve concluded that you should spend the money you’d normally spend on gems on another account for the game instead.
$10 = 800 gems = 80 – 90g
$10 for a new account gives you 50 laurels/month ujust for logging in on that account everyday. With the laurels you buy heavy crafting bags. These contain 3 T6 crafting mats which sell anywhere from 30-60 silver each so you are guaranteed at least 1 gold/laurel. Within two months you will have gained more gold then you could have bought with gems and everything after is just gravy.
Extra account for sure. 800 gems converted is only 80 – 90g. If you get a new account, through laurels and crafting bag alone you will make 50g+/month by just logging in. Heck if you are able to buy multiple accounts. Over time you can use that spare passive 50g/month or more to buy gems through gold and buy all the things like character slots and banktabs on your main account.

Well first of all lets just amend some things you mentioned there;
1. “thiefs seem to be not as viable as they once were” – Although they did receive some nerfs they are still the best single target dps in game and part of the meta in dungeons, fractals, and wvw. Only place they have been hurt is pvp, and that is not due to their nerfs too much but more so the issue of celestial brawler classes which is a whole other issue.
2. “warriors have been nerfed” – The nerf is negligible or at most, annoying. In Dungeons and fractals I hardly find myself being out of adrenaline which was their biggest nerf. In wvw and pvp, due to their might stacking prowess they are still a great contender and also one of the 3 classes that uses the celestial gear most effectively.
3. “elementalists are now top tier” – they’ve always been top tier, while their dps wasn’t at the very top it was always in the top 3 and right now on single target they sit at 2nd on the list, not much has changed for them. Even with FGS nerf, they are the best all rounders.
About your question about class choice, well here’s the current dungeon/fractal meta;
Warrior (banners), Thief (stealth/damage), Ele (might stacking), guardian/mesmer (reflects/stability/utility), last spot is toss up but ranger sounds good to me because the only damage boost you are missing to the party is their spirits.
Now lets forget the meta because unless you min/maxing uber speed runs it doesn’t matter. Tl:DR I would suggest warrior, ele, thief or ranger class right now because they all provide something to a party while still doing amazing dps.
Races:
Charr –
That annoying kittening slow kitten walking and the absurdity at how they fall, they literally belly flop onto the ground from 50 feet up? whose moronic idea was that?
Norn (Male) –
They look like tall dwarves when they run, the ratio of their upper body to lower seems off.
Sylvari (Male) -
The way they look in one direction while their torso points in another, kitten is with that? Additionally, lets also not forget their very robotic running.
Asuras (All) –
kittening like stupid smart kitten that you just want to kick in the face, and it also trivializes a large part of the game which is customizing your character with EXPENSIVE skins which are barely visible on asuras.
Humans (All) –
Just so kitten boring, even their story is boring. But by process of elimination, they are the only alternative for me. They are the best to look at for extended periods of time, they have the broadest choice in armor IMO.
Classes:
Engineers –
Seriously, how long have been people complaining about hobo sacks? The least they could do is replace them with something more relevant to each kit (example: a torso grenade belt for the grenade kit, an actual kittening tool belt for the tool kit?)
Guardians/Necros –
That abysmal mobility, I can literally map twice as fast on my war, ranger, thief and atleast 1.5x as fast on ele.

The stats of the LB alone won’t do much to effect you damage either way so if you are already geared in full berserker, stick to a zerk LB.
For sigil, again if you are not geared towards condition then agony/smoldering are out of the question. Also depends on what you have on your GS? If you have battle then do what ever is cheaper. If you are not doing competitive speed runs for dungeons the difference is negligible between any of the staple dps sigils.

You are going to be kiting the whole time with the amount of cripples you are getting with LB #5, and Spike Trap so going for more survival would be a mistake in my opinion. I’d suggest using dual bows with something like 6/6/2/0/0.
6 – Keen Edge/Spotter/Piercing Arrows
6 – Sharpened Edges/Trapper’s Expertise/Trap Potency
2 – Wilderness Knowledge
0

Flame/Viper/Spike trap for utilities, and entangle for elite.
Sigil of Agony/Smoldering on SB and Sigil of Force/Fire for LB.
Rune set, I’d go with Travellers so you can kite better and it gives you a bit of all things.
For necros and mesmers using aoe skills is the best way to deal with their add ons.
Using cripple and chill on necro minions is a good way to kite them and position yourself closer to the necro so there’s less chance of minions getting in the way.
For mesmers, just keep tabbing till you see a mesmer with boons. Also watch for dodging and active gameplay. There is no trick to it, once you get practice you will start to notice mesmer movements automatically and not have to think about which one is real.
Also necro mobility is abysmal so just run away and reset fight if need be.
We are talking about F skills. Don’ t you think warrior F skills are 10000 times stronger than ranger F skills?^ XD
