If engies had more weapons to choose from, then i’d probably agree with the OP, but with so many kits available i don’t really see the point.
My engi uses kits as primary and the rifle as a secondary weapon.

People need to stop relying on old quotes just to try to prove a relevant point.
Company ideas and ideals evolve over the course of time and A-net is no different – the game, as we see it today, could be an entirely different beast tomorrow and rehashing something said in the past isn’t going to change that.
Players either adapt or move on.

The other skills could be made to deal conditions usefull for making the thief keep the distance, like push back, crippling, immobilize and perhaps the fifth skill could be like the dagger off hand one, a blinding shot that gives the player stealth.

Erm…why on earth would you want stealth if you were planning on ranged attacks?
I can understand why a thief would use a bow, arrow shots being fairly quiet and all, but a rifle’s not exactly silent, is it? – you may as well carry a huge flashing neon sign saying ‘here i am, kill me’.

This is desperately needed. The current Living Story content feels rushed, is bug-ridden, and the “storylines” are just bottom of the barrel.

So that’s rushed, bug-ridden, bottom of the barrel story-lines lasting for 3 weeks instead of 2…like, wow, i really can’t wait for that to happen.

Since last patch i’m getting both black screens, after a couple of minutes of play, and constant disconnects/kicks to log-in.
Judging from other posts on this forum…i’m not alone so, with that in mind, would it be possible, if it’s not too much to ask, for one of your tech-hounds to put down that slice of birthday cake and just fix the kitten ed problem?

If you seriously want ‘the powers that be’ to fix ‘the problems you have’, then you have to be more constructive about how you put those problems across.

The day you forgot to put that ‘keeper’ in an invisible bag…is the day you’ll wish the ‘mass salvage inventory’ idea never happened.
There’s just too much human error involved to make something like this fully automated – doubt we’ll ever see it.

Personally, I like to play the game in a casual/serious style. I like being able to walk away for what is sometimes long periods of time, then return and play a few minutes, then sometimes play for longer periods. This kinda continues for 20ish hours daily. I do not like having to wait for load in screens to get back into the place I was just in. Also, the trading post acting like I’m not logged in until I completely close out the executable and reload it (which completely locks up my machine for 5-10 minutes each time) is a problem. Not to mention that when I’m trying to read chat and casually monitor the current state of the game as I work on other things, then being forced to stop my work to press ‘w’ or being kicked out with no warning (which I have now had to do twice since I started writing this post)… it’s super annoying.

This is a joke, right?

As far as i’m aware they are there – be it through answers on the forums, regular content/updates…or even the simple fact that there are servers online to log on to.
The problem with threads like these is they’re generally quick to complain that something is wrong, yet don’t actually offer any suggestions of a means to fix the individual ‘problems’ being faced.
Take the OP’s slant on guilds and commitment – your level of commitment isn’t down to A-net’s involvement…but your own, they can’t fix something which isn’t broken (just because you think it’s broken).
If you really want to get their attention (and even possibly a reply) then make a plausible suggestion other than ’i’m bored, fix it’…it really is that simple.

Why not just link the commander tag to xp earned via wvw?
X amount unlocks the tag for another level 80 character slot on your account.
The more xp you earn…the more you can unlock.
Possibly even a graphical representation, say stars or a colour change, on the tag itself to show other players that the commander has the experience, ingame, to hold the tag and not just the funds to buy the name only.

I read through the first post thinking ‘/tinfoilhat’…or that the OP was in some ways connected to the WBC (they’re all off their rockers!) – even went as far as comparing the staff head (thanks to dulfy) to the levi picture and, except for it being a ram’s head, i’m not really seeing the satanic mockery the OP is blabbing on about.
Yeah, it’s a ram’s head…but that’s about it – any other occult symbolism is clearly missing so i don’t exactly understand where the OP is coming from.
Maybe we’re all just being naive…or perhaps Anet is actually being run by baphomet occultists hell bent on feeding us subliminal messages for their own nefarious purposes – only the OP knows for sure.

To be honest, as a PVEr myself, PVE has no place in WvW.
It’s kinda like walking onto a military shooting range, with the warning flags up, and saying ‘please don’t accidentally shoot me as i’m only here to pick flowers’.
If you can easily pick flowers pretty much anywhere else why would you insist on doing it somewhere where you’re likely to get hurt?
It’s the same with WvW – POIs are incidental, you’ll get them if you just play the game as intended without Anet being required to ‘fix’ something that clearly isn’t broken.

I play on FoW and, except for new content release days where everyone jumps on an 80 and tries for every achievement, haven’t really noticed it being all that empty – especially in LA.
WvW could probably do with more of a turnout, however, but it’s always been a little quiet most days.

The world of GW2 just isn’t expansive enough to warrant the inclusion of mounts – they’d only serve to make an already small world even smaller.
