I don’t even bother looking at WP costs since they are trivial to begin with and I have a lot of gold. Heck, I don’t bother porting into HOTM to get free trips to LA anymore.
As someone with plenty of legendaries, several lvl 80 characters with full exotics and zerk/divinity sets…
I just gamble
Last week I lost 200g.
You gamble in the mystic toilet?
Yes. With the influx of mystic forge stones I’ve been buying and forging cheap exotics. Though I did get a Zap…
ArenaNet generally has a stance against farming. You can get money and drops by simply playing the game.
Please show me the documented proof that “ArenaNet generally has a stance against farming”, I missed this memo.
They don’t have to release a statement to actually say they are against it. Merely by their actions due they hate open-world farming.
-The introduction of DR to handle bots. After the great bot ban wave of November, DR is still here.
-The nerf to Plinx
-The countless nerfs to shelt/pen through the introduction of gating Champions, loot-less spiders and the increase in event respawn timers threefold.
-The nerf to grub farm
-The nerf to malchor farm

The theory is that the more hits you get on him, the higher the chance that he casts his transform skill.
Go equip a low-level white weapon and attack him repeatedly. Use a class with fast autoattacks, like d/d thief.
I’ve spent $1000 on this game.
I think I deserve five legendaries, an autograph from Colin and a job at Arenanet.
But that’s just me.
In the twitch interview today Colin made the statement that they are possibly considering different realities on different servers.
For example in the coming election if one server were to vote in Evon that server would acquire the Fall of Abaddon fractal. While on another server if they voted in Ellen they would get Thaumanova Reactor fractal.
I personally do not support this. I would rather all servers have the same history and future. Maybe in the future I may change my mind, but I just foresee too many issues like increased server migration as an example.
Your 2 cents?
How about the direct quote?
Q: Changes in Tyria different depends on the server you play on?
A: In the short term no but it is something we may do in the future. There is a lot of pros and cons to that.
I bet if you asked Anet anything they would say “they would consider it” Flattly saying no keeps options closed while saying “considering” leaves it open, but by no means should people be up in arms.
If we don’t get anything close to 2 precursors per account the forums are gonna flip!
Queensdale farming is about getting exp I presume. The champ events respawn so often that you can get good exp/karma for running the chains.
OP I think the reason why people may be mad at you is because you started a champ and didn’t bother to notify people in map chat.
Kite doesn’t appear when you transform into a cat and activate the kite!
Please fix ;3
I want my black wings. Give me 1 black wing. I don’t want a flower. I don’t want a dream catcher. I want something bad-kitten .
And I find black wings ugly while flowers are pretty.
Do you honestly think a human would have the resources, or the insight to investigating this tragedy?
And you bookahs consider your race intelligent?! Do your own research rather than relying on a measley human!
Voting for #TeamGnash ensures the Asura will have a properly funded investigation into the events of the reactor.
Voting for Evon is a vote for the benefit of the few.
1. Evon is a Charr and they are responsible for the destruction of multiple human civilizations. More important due to the Charr’s actions we lost historical knowledge and understand of Orr, the gods, and its secrets. The Charr invasion led to the sinking of Orr by Vizier Khilbron. This helped grow Zhaitan’s army of undead that led to the countless death of Pact forces during our invasion of Orr to reclaim it. To be honest, it was a pain going through waves and waves of undead namely Arah where we seek ancient knowledge. If it wasn’t for the Charr, Pact forces would have a much easier time against Zhaitan, Zhaitan’s army would be much smaller, and we would still have some knowledge and understand of various ancient Orrian artifacts to use against the Elder Dragons. Don’t trust Evon for a second on his research into Abaddon, in fact Charrs are the reason we don’t know much about Orr and the actual gods.
2. Evon is the owner of Black Lion. He is the same person taking a cut from every sell order you place on the market. On top of that Black Lion is where people “flip” items on a daily basis and this affects people who don’t have a lot of gold. Prices of goods are raising, people losing money on patch days (buy orders -> t6 dust), and speculation of goods. In the end, Evon gets 15% from everything that is sold from the Black Lion Trading Post and the rich get richer. The keys are a lie since the only ones that benefit from it are the ones with a lot of money to buy a lot to get contracts and Evon himself. Noticed gem conversion isn’t 1:1, just because 100 gems cost 3g 20s doesn’t mean selling 100 gems give you that much. Evon takes a BIG cut. He cannot be trusted. Waypoint discount benefits everyone unlike keys.
3. Research into the Thaumanova Reactor will help us understand more about the Asurans. Thaumanova Reactor was once a city. Why was it abandoned? Is this related to the fractal where you see something that looks like Rata Sum? When was the city created? For what purpose? The city seems massive so it would be interesting to know more about this. At the same time, knowing about the Inquest will help us in the present by knowing what they might be up to (Aetherblade) and it will help us against the Elder Dragons by understanding what the Inquest may or may not know.
As you can see a vote for Kiel is a vote for a brighter future. She is the one out there trying to solve problems and stop our enemies. Evon is just sitting on the sidelines profiting off of the work of others.
#TeamKiel
Way to introduce race into this political discussion, bookah.
Kitten. I want to vote for Kiel still, but if we really are voting on both abbadon vs reactor and molten alliance facility vs aetherblades retreat, I might have to switch. I really didn’t care for Aetherblade dungeon, its way too long. If the Molten Alliance facility has the same rewards (jetpack/mini) that’s gonna seal it.
From GW2Hub transcript of twitch interview:
As an extra bonus (to talk about next Tuesday) not just are you voting on the Fractal, we’re going to bring back the Molten Weapon facility and Aether Blade Retreat as Fractals by the end of the year.
molten/aether is not an either or. They’re both coming back.
The decision lies in Abaddon vs Reactor
An endorsement from Colin is like the POTUS endorsing the city’s mayor.

We have had this thread dozens of times.
Isn’t the minimum of each patch 45 mb? Could just be maintenance with no content changes.
I’m a Norn, and we’re not so judgmental.
Until they do something dreadful, they’re both alright in my book.
Please, all you care about is whomever will offer you a free drink.
Thankfully Evon has a wealthier base than Kiel. Who do you think is going to shower you in genuine Mead?
OP is a dirty citizen from Cantha.
We don’t appreciate your kind here from Tyria. Take your politics back home or to Elona.
I think it’s just a lot of charr hate going around here. Clearly Evon has our best interests at heart.
Kiel has always been a bit suspicious to me. I don’t trust that human.
As a fellow human, I can’t trust her too. Heck, I’ve been hearing she’s a supporter of the Separatists over at Ebonhawke…
I haven’t calculated it, but
-Cof1 runs give you a lot of vials of liquid
-Queensdale champ farming has +3 champion events that are farmed repeatedly with a small respawn timer.
Evon Gnashbalde is ruthless, yes. But he gets the job done with no bullkitten. And that’s what we need on the council.
You call RNG boxes no bullkitten? Bookah! Gnashblade is a con artist and you fell for his act! Kiel truly cares about the citizens of Lion’s Arch and has put her life on the line for them repeatedly!
#TeamKiel
SLANDER!
I don’t know how you guys can support someone who takes the credit for saving Southsun and investigating Dragonbash when in reality she relied on the thousands of ‘heroes’ that do the dirty work for her. Why does she get to go on the council seat? Why not me? I slayed hundreds of Karka, fought endless Aetherblade pirates and solved the murder of our former councilman.
Yet here is the Honorable Kiel, claiming it all for herself.
You all should be ashamed.
At least she was there and she did “something”, unlike Evon who was trading with consortium in the meantime.
Kiel works for Tyria and Evon as well. They just have different jobs. Kiel is in charge of security. Evon is in charge of the economy. Expecting Evon to take up swords is like asking Kiel to take up the books.
Evon does what he does best. We need a guy who does the dirty work and gets results. What I don’t want is someone who lies to the top and takes credit for things she never did.
#VoteEvonGnashblade
It would be nice if we could gather all those with Endless Cat tonics and end up with kittens holding parachutes.
While I won’t deny that Evon is a fine candidate for the political scene, a renowned business charr to boot, he hasn’t proven himself as Captain’s Council material we need. Looking back over the last few months, what exactly did he do for Tyrians? He took the devastation and tragedies as a means to turn a profit. He didn’t aid us when he had the chance during the uprising of the Molten Alliance nor when the citizens of said previous hardships were indentured on Southsun Cove. In fact, he has been selling Consortium wares on his trading post! Where was he when the Ashford’s lost another one of their kin, selling armor he pilfered off the dead corpses of the Aetherblades!
Captain Kiel has freed those who were wrongfully forced to work after their debts had been paid, in an extremely hostile environment no less. She captured the crazed Canach and quelled the wildlife of Southsun Cove. When the Aetherblades traumatized the citizens of Lion’s Arch during the bonfires and even threatened them again, Captain Kiel stood against the tide and beat them back, even capturing their captain with no intent of becoming one herself.
However, when Magnus offered her a position on the Captain’s Council because of her deeds and newly acquired and well earned airship, she accepted it with the same responsibility as protecting her fellow citizens and with the same set of morals that we’ve come to respect her by. Evon is taking, once again, the chance to turn a profit in the light of more tragedy.
Evon is a great businessmen, but his ethics and morals leave little to be desired. If he were to discount anything on the trading post during the political debates, it would only be temporary to further his goals, and afterwards he’d revert to the same shrewd and uncaring individual he is.
Vote for Captain Kiel for Captain’s Council, she’s the member that Lion’s Arch needs!
Kiel didn’t do anything. She merely herded all us heroes to do the dirty work for her, and claimed the successes as her own.

Inspector Kiel has claimed all the riches and media attention after what happened in Southsun and during Dragon Bash. But we all know she wasn’t the only one who contributed to the cause, but she’s claiming most if not all of the credit.
I can’t stand idly by while this disgusting politician tries to the lie to the top.
Evon Gnashbalde is ruthless, yes. But he gets the job done with no bullkitten. And that’s what we need on the council.

I threw about 900g worth of gold since release before I finally ended up with a precursor.
Then within the next 100g I ended up getting another.
It’s really random. And it’s a huge gamble.
If you spend all that 400g and end up with nothing I’m pretty sure you’ll end up on the verge of quitting.
I don’t know. One fractal shows the destruction of Rata Sum which is clearly in the future. So not necessarily historical.
POW right into Vayne’s gut!
It’s called a “Legendary”, not “An Expensive Skin.”
What’s legendary about performing repetitive tasks over and over or throwing thousands of items into a magic blender hoping that you’ll get lucky?
That just screams legendary.
On the same token, what’s fun pressing random buttons on your keyboard and staring at your screen for several hours? Why are you playing a game at all?
spoilers. Spoilers everywhere!!!
And we speculated that they would bring back the old dungeons.
I think people are gonna vote Evon just for the nostalgia.
Really, five-hundred gems?! To me these things aren’t worth any more than 50.
Then you shouldn’t buy them.
Yeah, like hell I’m going to. I’d rather use those gems to buy Transmutation Crystals.
Problems of kids these days…
lol what? If you want to spend over 17 gold for a useless toy then go ahead. I just said I wasn’t going to do that.
I think the question raised here is rather, why are you telling us this?
Because it’s an outrageous price for something so simple, at least for non-farmers, casual players, and such. Isn’t that obvious?
It’s novelty. I sure as hell would pay up to 1000 gems for one. But it’s only 500, win-win for me.
Small sample size. You should record your drops/combines for the next few weeks and check then.
‘’awww i cant re-skin this but i want to use that skin’’
This is true lol. I’d love to have Foefire’s over Sunrise, for example. But I can’t convince myself to spend the money since I already have an expensive skin.
7600 or so. Playing since release, so the majority of those is from dailies.
“They have all undercut each other by 1 copper, of course they will do that I am not saying they shouldn’t (because of course I also do it)”
End of thread right here.
Ask yourself why do you do it? Because you and everyone else in this game is impatient and wants their item to be sold first before other people.
There is nothing wrong with undercutting. kitten happens. I myself don’t bother listing stuff and would rather sell to the b/o as long as the difference is acceptable.
Im fairly new to the game.
If you are new to the game, don’t worry about legendaries. Expecting them to be easy and cheap isn’t good, either.
The price is fine.
Before they released it on the gem store I was totally willing to spend up to 1000 gems on it.
Well what if there was a limit on the amount of items a player could own. For example you couldn’t own more than 1000 iron or 100 iron ingots at the same time. you couldn’t own more than 10 of the same dye. Therefore if you had 10 X dye on market you could not store 1 x dye in your inventory. There would still be work around around this I could think of a few loop holes right now, but it would be a lot of hassle for what it was worth.
Just limit what people can have. That would prevent a monopoly right there. I’m sure a lot of people hate this idea already cause they own like 20,000 iron ore something. =P well I hate the fact you have a kittened amount of gold and I’m stuck with 30 silver so chew on that.
Ignoring the difficulties programming such a feature would provde, and the obvious loopholes that people could use to get around it…
this is not a monopoly. Nothing in this game is a monopoly.
It is at best a monopsony if a single player buys out all of the dyes but doesn’t sell them. If he/she chooses to sell them, then that player essentially gets monopoly status as there are no competitors in the market for that player, and the difficulty to enter the market (and then how quickly a player leaves the market) makes any barriers to entry fairly high for the given market. Furthermore, as all higher sell offers become practically irrelevant, the monopolist basically gets to choose the price that he or she wants to sell at. All of these things are characteristics that we’ve seen in this market, which is why I’m arguing that it was a monopoly, albeit not a very long-lasting one, but it still had negative effects on the market.
The barrier to entry isn’t fairly high. All you have to do is buy a bunch of unid dyes and open them!
But then I bet you’d say “but that costs a lot of gold!” Well if the person bought all the specific dyes on the market, they’d be at a pretty high price, making the investment in unid dye worth it.
And furthermore, if the price is too high, no one will buy it at that price point.
If the price of this dye before the hoarding was around 1G, and after being ‘monopolized’ and being sold at 20g, then the market will correct itself.
If no one sees 20g as an appropriate price point then it will go down. If people end up wanting to pay 15g for it, then the price for this dye has been undervalued for the longest time and it was due for a correction up to 15g.
Run CoF Path 1 over and over and over and over and over and over again.
and over and over and over and over. And then buy gems and sell them.
Then run CoF1 Path 1 over and over and over and over again.
I would sell now. Backpieces seem to be the one area Anet loves to keep updating and releasing new skins. Heck, we know there will be a flower backpiece in the upcoming update.
Obviously, the price will always go up. But it will take forever and considering opportunity costs means you lose out.
But hey, 3.3G is an insignificant amount so if it goes even farther down, then you don’t lose out a ton.
I think OP just has pretty bad gear/runes to call it’s damage “ridiculously low”
What? It’s ridiculous easy to acquire SP. Just do the events, the world events every day and some x4 runs on cof P1, and use a XP booster maybe, they are dropping like rain with those new achiev chests. You gain a lot of XP from doing events, not just the world ones, and from dungeons. What is really hard to acquire in this game is gold.
See how long it takes you to gather up 200 skill points.
It is incredibly long, especially when you have everything but the skillpoints to complete a legendary.

It’s something different and mixes it up. Is it somewhat tedious to have to do every day? Yes, but it’s also interesting to take a moment and go find a place of power. The interesting thing will be what happens to quartz after the sanctum leaves. If the only remaining way to get it is from home instances, the supply will slowly deplete until the next bazaar. Who knows when that’ll be!
Very, very slowly. Slow enough that it won’t be a concern.
People are hoarding quartz and theres a lot in the economy right now. Add the fact that you can only consume 25 a day and well…it’s just not a good enough sink.
You know, if this game had a monthly fee you’d have good reason to complain.
But it’s not enough.
I’d pay 800 gems if I could have a tonic that would do this
I agree.
This is why I keep telling people to not waste their karma on stupid little orrian boxes.
Karma is ridiculously easy to accumulate when you’re not spending it.
But when you need it bad, it can take a long time to collect it.
They’re still working on it?
