Go for the weapon you use most. There is no reason to make a moot or bolt if you wont use them. In my case (Guardian is my main too), I would never do a moot or a bolt becouse I almost never use a mace or sword, if I were in you place, I would do a Twillight (my dream) becouse I use greatsword a lot. I also use scepter a lot, but I wont make a Meteorlogicus any time soon becouse the effects are so lame (competes with The Minstrel for the worst legendary title).

Go for the weapon that you use more and like the effects.

Just a hint…they will be updating Meteorlogicus for sure, and when they do, expect the price for the precursor to go up. Failing to take advantage of it now means it will be expensive later on.

Allowing the weapon skins to be traded is a HUGE concession by Anet. Obviously this is a business and they’re in this business to make money. Monthly weapon skins through RNG is a great way to make money and keep this game subscription free. But allowing skins to be traded shows they’re listening and are trying to find a middle ground between earning profit and pleasing all players (i.e., paying and non-paying) alike.

Making money =/= being greedy.

And the MMO landscape is much more competitive now than it was back when GW1 was in it’s prime. Settling for ‘adequate’ sales is not enough.

The new system being sligthly better than the old one doesn’t mean it’s good. The current system rewards the grinders/exploiters who have a lot of gold and can make more by just flipping the new skins in the TP (no wonder a certain someone is defending it). If the skins were untradeable but sold directly in the Gem Store, instead of being available through RNG boxes, it would be a more honest system and people would still have the option to trade gold for Gems, while still giving more money to ArenaNet than if the main way to acquire the skins is by paying TP exploiters.

All I want is a fixed price for the skins (even 700gems), not another rng.

And Anet needs to make money. They’re a business. I’m confident they looked at the metrics and realized this is the best balance.

I’d actually say that’s an improvement (depending on how common the chance is for the scraps) in terms of locking it behind RNG. I’d personally still prefer to buy the weapons, but I’m not too bothered, since we have the chance to get them during the Candidate Trials.

Before, every ‘failure’ opening a chest would not provide you with any progress toward the item you wanted.

Now, every ‘failure’ will still reward you with a token. So if you ‘fail’ enough times, you will be rewarded in the end.

dude, this is great news. I can take credit for this change since I’ve been clamoring for it.

You are a casual player. You don’t farm and don’t have a lot of gold.

So my suggestion is to sell Zap now and save that money for when the precursor scavenger hunt/crafting comes out.

You can even use those funds to purchase the other mats, such as lodestones.

I remember they switched up a bunch of skills last year I think in November. All the guardian GS skills that I had learned with muscle memory had to be relearned.

It is reasonable to expect new precursors will be associated with new legendaries.

First the events are posted on your screen telling you “Kill the Rison” “Kill the Giant” and when playing a game its usually common since to kill the red people. Then theres pages of chats of people yelling “DON’T kill him, run to bottom of stairs” ,“let him reset”, “Farm for loot”.

Before making a post here I would suggest actually looking at the evidence people present that show this is an issue.

“Ohh, you want me to kill that big Risen giant over there?

I’m trying but I’m lagging! I try to hit the big guy but I keep aiming at the other mobs! Oh well. I’ll keep trying to do this until lag goes away"

Farming – what your trying to put off as what your doing, means to gather loot around the world, not sit in one place and exploit an event to make it give you loot.

My opinion: this type of exploitation is no better than botting and should be delt with accordingly and is also very rude to others who are there to play as intended!

The sole reason people don’t go to this zone is because the mobs are a kitten to kill. The only mob I hate other than karka are Dredge.

I admit I’m pretty racist when it comes to Quaggans.

Here we have a race in Tyria which is utterly useless. They cannot defend themselves and are at the near bottom of the food chain. It also doesn’t help that they are full of delicious blubber and taste great while cooked over a fire.

If natural selection held it’s course, Quaggans would be extinct and no one would care.

However, killing Quaggans is still murder and as such I cannot vote for Kiel. An eye for an eye.

Seriously though, there are a ton of items like these on the TP. People list it in the hope that someone doesn’t notice the price. They say it’s not scamming because they paid the listing fee, and you can see the price when you buy it. I still call it scamming, as you’re tricking someone in the hope he/she doesn’t look at the price properly , makes a mistake and presses “buy now” in the assumption that the item will be priced in the same price range as all other items they (quickly) buy as they level up.

I don’t think it’s a matter of tricking someone. It’s a matter of the buyer being stupid.

Well you still need the shards to make it, so you need to run the fotm level that drops it. I think it’s lvl 20.

It has been proven that Kiel is a direct supporter of the Separatists in Ebonhawke. Kiel is a racist and does not deserve a chance to represent the council.

You can’t lump guardian with the mesmer. The mesmer is at the very bottom with no chance of getting out.

The guardian you can have nearly 100% uptime with speed buffs. Staff 3/SaveYourself/Retreat are great.

Yeah, it would be nice but I’m not going to complain about it. It’s a non-issue for me.

-Staff – with the theme of opulence. Has a golden handle and the head has a giant jewel that could be green, blue or red. The jewel glows a green when the character is OOC and the weapon is unsheathed. If the weapon is unsheathed and not in combat, it glows blue. If you are in combat, it glows red.

Along the handle you have shiny little diamonds and engraving. In terms of effects, the character has a glowing aura, as well as footseps that leave an imprint of sorts.

-Shield – with the theme of death. The base of the shield is a giant mirror (similar to Sunrise/Twilight). It’s in the shape of a rectangle. The frame is a mix of Black/red/grey. If the character is in combat, the shield starts to have a dark shade (similar to ghastly grinning). With each additional hit the character takes, small arms/fingers start to reach through the shield tring to escape. If you get hit many times, your shield should start to look like zombies trying to get through a small vent to you.

It’s entirely reasonable to expect a new precursor. I just don’t think we’ll be seeing another Greatsword precursor considering there are two.

Yeah, people were telling me earlier that I should dump my precursor now (working towards Meteorlogicus, have everything but 1/2 the T6 mats and Charged Lodes basically) because they’re going to drop in price like rocks. I just laughed and said I wasn’t selling. Do people really think the crafting recipes for precursors are going to be cheap? It’s not gonna be “Ancient Wood Scepter Casing” plus “5 globs of ectoplasm”… it’ll be something outrageous. They already said in the blog post that new crafting would requires lots of account bound materials that could only be acquired once per 24 hrs (or something along those lines). I don’t think crafting a precursor will be too terribly easy or cheap. Somehow, I think the current precursors on the market will be just fine…

Not only that, but we know (and it’s confirmed) that they’re updating the existing Legendary skins (which could only mean the remaining underwhelming ones like Meteor or Minstrel)

Making investing in precursors like Storm a worthwhile investment (I have two)

I think it’s reasonable to expect changes to Legendary skins to happen before the new ones come out.

Yeah, that’s just not going to happen. People are still going to take the path of least resistance (Queensdale) for champions unless there’s more to this than has been said.

How I understand it is that in Queensdale you may get a champ here or there, but in Southsun or Orr, you will see significantly more champs. That means you can kill them faster. Effort may be a bit higher, but reward will come in faster.

Queensdale may end up having the best kill/h

Cursed Shore, for example, off the top of my head has these champs:
-Wizard (east)
-Wizard #2 (shelter)
-Ooze (Meddler)
-Pirate (south)

But I think the Orr champs have a better drop value considering they will drop T6 and Queensdale will drop T1.

Ascended gear has been in the game since November.

In one of the other interviews (not the blog post) it was mentioned that a few items are retaining their MF item stat. I speculate that ascended trinkets are included.

There is always a give and take. It’s only a matter of how much.

Cheaper t5/t6 means more people will go for a legendary. Which means more people will attempt one and keep the price of t5/t6 sustained up. And then more people will want to buy the lodestones and precursors. Those prices will go up too.
