I don’t think that the new Legendary gear is going to be armor or back related. Most likely it’ll be new weapons, and possibly a revamp of the existing ones. The rest of the gear is likely just going to be Ascended.

If they come out with more Ascended gear they’re going to be losing a bunch of loyal customers. A whole lot of people like GW2 because it was advertised as not having a gear treadmill. There was already a sizeable backlash when they introduced Ascended jewellery, and I think I saw somewhere that they said they had reconsidered and don’t plan on adding any more gear treadmill.

Options:
-Convert our gear into consumables
-Allow us the option to change our MF item stat to something else

Ascended gear AFAIK was planned before release and just didn’t come out in time.

And you’re right, there is no point in using it if you don’t like ascended since you can use exotics. And there is no point in getting exotics since rares are fine. And so on. You can even wear whites and still do fine.

Heck, people have done Cof runs naked.

You’re not forced. It’s an option. Just like how you going for exotics is an option when whites are adequate.

I’m also holding some precursors because I think they will update the current legendary skins BEFORE they come out with new ones.

As mentioned above, they’re going to allow each class a new set of weapons to choose from the current ones we have in game.

Yes you can do that. If you have someone you can trust, you should temporarily send them your items/gold. It’s either that or have everything deleted!

Keep in mind though that there really is no reason to transfer other than WvW. If all you do is PvE, transferring is not advisable.

You replaced the original rune with another one. If you want bonuses for runes you need to have the same family of runes (i.e. pirates) and put them on each armor. If you put a rune on another rune it will replace it.

For e.g. If I want all four bonuses (4/4) for Pirates, I would need 4 runes on 4 out of the 6 armor pieces.

If you keep putting runes on 1 piece of armor you are just wasting gold and replacing the old rune.

Maybe they will replace it with another infusion (+20% gold for example) or “uninfuse” it?

Another question of course is what happens to Explorer’s, Traveler’s and Wayfarer’s armour and the equivalent gems, the various runes and sigils and so on? I’ll be interested in seeing what they do here alright.

Well if they can replace stats on a Legendary on the fly, I’m sure they can try and temporarily enable the ability to change stats for those three types of gears. Then put out a blog post and say that if you don’t convert your gear in 2 months, too bad, we’re going to disable the ability to change the stats and then also delete MF gear from the game.

I’d be willing to bet that the new legendary gear being introduced are legendary backpieces. That will be so awesome.

The thing is we already have awesome looking backpieces that glow and have special effects. Legendary backpieces would definitely be low-priority for me.

By the way, when it says removed, it could mean they are going to replace magic find with a stat of your choice.

So if my Exotic helm has 3% magic find on it, I may have the option of replacing it with 3% gold find or other stats appropriate with exotic gear.

We know they will have this capability since they mentioned legendary weapons having the ability to change stats on the fly.

My speculation is someone put in the field “30” exotics to purchase and they ended up buying the next 30, no matter the price. Could have ranged anywhere between 1.70 and 6.00

The only thing is, I was going to craft me a Celestial Pirate Hat of the Pirate today. Shall I now not bother with the Celestial gear anymore? I sort of liked having this project of crafting my first MF armour set. :C

Here’s my speculation.

If you want to craft Celestial Ascended armor, you need Celestial inscriptions.

So don’t craft celestial armor right now. Just make the inscriptions.

1.) I used MF gear a lot (in open world but not dungeons, look at my sig)

Honestly, it’s a great move. It makes me less squishy since I can wear my normal DPS/tanky gear. AND it’s account bound. So I can farm with any character I wish.

As for compensation, I don’t know exactly how they’ll remove an item completely from the economy, but I could see them giving us a fixed number of MF consumables. For example, for all rare lvl 80 MF armor, you get 10 MF consumables. For all exotic lvl 80 MF armor, you get 50 MF consumables

2.) I really don’t see why they would prevent current users from utilizing that feature

Yes you will need to buy more crystals to transmute your current exotic skins to the new ascendant armors.

We specifically said we don’t want to get caught up in the trap where every 3-6 months the game adds another tier of gear to the game; that invalidates all your hard work and the rewards you’ve earned.

I think they wanted to have Ascended gear as the final tier of gear. After that, they don’t want to release anything new. So of course it seems that they are adding new tiers but ascended is the very last.

And as far as I recall, players have come to accept ascended gear and didn’t see it as too tough to get. Back in November though…

New legendaries have got me excited.

However, I’m disappointed that they haven’t outlined improvements to the current legendary skins. Nearly half of the current legendaries are underwhelming and need some adjusting in the skins.

My speculation before all this was that first they’d fix the skins of current legendary, then they’d add the precursor scavenger hunt, and then another set of legendaries

HIGHLIGHTS:
-NEW LEGENDARIES in 2013 and a way to craft precursors. New legendary weapons and types (legendary trinkets, see notes below)
-Crafting increased to 500 and ascended gear can be crafted at 500. However, it will be time-gated
-Magic find as an item stat will be removed and replaced with account-bound MF. Compensation for magic find gear will be detailed some other time [corrected]
-Account bound crafting rewards per day for completing specific content
-Champions reward guaranteed box which contains crafting loot, lodestones and unique skins
-Blue/Green items can be salvaged for MF consumables
-New skills/traits as a form of progression. As a result, there will be more ways to acquire skillpoints
-Dungeons changed to remove gold drops from bosses, but replaced with the guaranteed loot box as mentioned above. Also, there are bonus rewards for completion.

I like the theme in the personal story where you are approaching the steps of Arah. It’s a very regal theme with trumpets.

I also like the Ascalon theme with harps. Very soothing. If you hear it you know what I’m talking about.

I wanted that achievement. I couldn’t get it because we were getting camped. So I got my guildy group and spread the word throughout the server that we would be taking back Sanctum? And guess what? After 30 minutes of hard fighting, we did.

Actually no. I found Hellfire to be yet another pathetic mould of ‘fire’ armor. We already have gloves from CoF. We already have gloves from molten (which was given to everyone). I guess we need more fire gloves!

While the radiant gloves have no other alternative in the game. What armor out there shines brightly like Radiant? None.

My personal opinion is that radiant > Hellfire by a large margin.

They need to have some score system in place biased on how much you contribute to the run. With a low score you could be kicked with 2 people, middle or higher would be 3, and if you have a high score you cant be kicked unless your team earns a set amount of points while yours remains the same to prevent afk on the boss.

You realize how difficult it is to construct a fair system like that?
How should they prioritize points? By kills? By damage done? By heals?

Now to complete each main city..
Also, is there a way to figure out what server has the least amount of latency depending on location and such?
I do have pretty slow internet and it took a bit for it to phase in the people around Lions Arch when in Tarnished coast. I realize the less populated the server, the less latency(probably), but I’m just wondering if I should change worlds or stay in Anvil Rock.

I believe all NA servers are located in the same place, so server doesn’t matter.

But if you want less graphics lag, then of course guest to lower population servers. Those servers are generally listed as “High” on the server screen.

Before committing to doing the events, guest on two other high population servers to see if other players have already done them.

I often play solo because I simply don’t have the patience to wait for a party member to do stuff.

For example, I loathe dungeons because I can often get grouped up with players who are incredibly slow to react or respond. It gets pretty frustrating.
