Hell, you know you get 10 levels by maxing one profession? If you’re a new player, that’s exactly a reason to get dedicated to one character and crafting on one player.

You can craft exotics, but it won’t be cheap. You’re better off running around in Orr with a full rare MF set, and then collecting karma to easily buy off legendaries from vendors. Or buy exotics from the TP.

Very easy for you to say, not everyone can afford to buy gems with real money. There are more important things money is used for you know.

I should also note that there used to be a story quest that you could farm for mobs but they fixed that recently.

You won’t get anything of significance until the later stages of the story which you can salvage (if I remember). You will, however, get quite a few Black Lion items.

I’d rather recommend doing exploration. Do map completion for the +76 zones (all of Orr and Frostgorge, maybe Malchor’s too). You’ll get 2-3 exotics that you can TP/salvage. But to be honest, you’ll make more money per hour farming.

They may have done it unintentionally. If the party leader leaves, everyone gets kicked it. The leader probably thought that the party would still remain intact with 4 people.

It’s poor design and I’m not sure if it will be fixed in the patch later this month.

That being said, if you know if they did it intentionally, they can get a temp ban.

If you mail large amounts of gold, that makes you suspicious. People around here think there is an auto-ban system in place or something.

Rest assured, if you do get banned, you can plead your case and they can look at it in detail – and it can be temporary.

Those who keep pleading innocent after Arenanet finds them guilty are most likely, 99%, guilty. Heck, if I were a gold buyer/seller I’d proclaim my innocence all the way and slander Arenanet in the process, right?

It was the day exactly after the karka event finished (in which i got the LB precursor) .

I was doing 16 rares a day , 16 daggers of the same type and all lvl 80. And spark came out. It was 4 berserker ones.

Precursor greatswords always sell more than daggers (at least back then). You’d just have to sell the greatsword and you’d have enough money left to buy The Spark and other materials.

You don’t just ban bots the moment you see them. If you ban them asap, it’s easy for the programmers to find out the little changes that made their bot detectable. In the long-run you complicate things.

That is why they ban in waves.

If you were here before early November you would have realized how much of a problem bots were. Yes, bots are still here and will always be, IN ANY GAME, but Anet has done a superb job handling them.

You understand that it’s extremely likely that the real robber barons of the TP are using their own, more complex programs to analyze the TP and take advantage of it from there, right?

If the information is attainable, people with the correct talents are going to take advantage of it. And with access to the information, they can essentially automate analysis piece, which gives them a huge advantage over people who aren’t relying on third party tools.

it’s really about supply/demand. Some armor stat sets are in higher demand than others.

I would imagine a combination of power, precision and vitality is more expensive than healing, toughness and condition.

It’s an easy and unsuspicious way to trade gold.

how high is your magic find? You can make a good rare-quality magic find set + rune + jewelry, add some Chocolate Raspberry Cream food and you should get the lot for around 5-8g. Combined you will have around 150% MF.

It took me 4 months of legit play to finish my legendary. Farming gold is not legendary. I’m sorry, it’s not. Any system that allows a player to buy their way to the top, be it cosmetic or not, is terrible.

Right, let’s give everyone one long quest to get their legendary so that everyone will run around with one.

DR does not exist anymore, that’s my theory.

There is no more DR in terms of karma/exp. I know because I’ve farmed for a long time this holiday break – up to 14 hours. Yet I have no penalty.

I also do not notice any huge ‘lump’ of rares when the supposedly DR resets. All my loot is randomly spread out

I’m pretty sure they removed DR in the same period as the bot bannings. DR was put in place to battle them.

But not only did they remove DR, but I think they reduced the loot table all across the board.

Actually, I think people just want questing/achievements to replace most of the grind. It’s currently almost entirely a gold grind funneled through the TP, and that’s just not fun gaming for most.

I doubt most people bought this game with the belief that they’d be expected to play the Day Trading Post mini-game. I can’t fault people who do enjoy playing the game that way, but I’m starting to think MMOs were better off without a trading post/auction hall feature.

So you want primarily quests/achievements in order to get a legendary.

That makes it SOOOO easy that everyone would be carrying around a Twilight. and that would bring down the allure of holding a legendary, won’t it.

Again, the method is fine as it is. Some PvP, some dungeon grinding, some gold grinding, some karma grinding. It’s fine. I for one don’t want to see every single person running around with Eternity.

They haven’t purged nothing, all the bots are under the maps surface so you can’t see them. Want proof? I can provide it ~ if anything, the bot problem is 10x worse now than it was a month ago

It was yes a few months ago. If you saw one it was 99% and exploiter or gold buyer. But now since about month ago most are legit now. Things have become so legit that they are openly traded and not via RMT by shady website.
casuals should take 5 months to get for a time frame and HC 2-3 months was the time frame for it.

They are far beyond vanity now as they will be constantly BIS and perpetually raised to that level forever. That removes all grind in the future for a weapon slot upon release of a tier.See Lindsey Marshalls post for specifics.
And yes you can just buy one at level 1 by converting gems ->gold.

Are you aware that this game has a gem to gold conversion? Unless of course you want to lump those people who buy and sell gems in the same breath as RMT companies.

Oh, and many months ago, prices were completely different. T6 and globs were cheap. Precursors were relatively cheap.

Getting a legendary isn’t meant for casuals. Only for those who are determined enough to go after it. The process to get one is fine as is.
