Utility skills?
Just the typical responses I expected. A lot of jealousy and whining.
Of course you need to buy some of the mats – coins, t6, lodes…
Grats on the legendaries, I’m making my way to my 3rd too.
“Achievements don’t mean anything.”
That’s like saying “winning don’t mean anything”
Achievements show you made progress in a certain area. Just cause there are no rewards for that achievement, it doesn’t mean anything?
Achievements really don’t mean anything though. You can completely PAD your achievements. You can have 10,000 achievements in a week if you spend the gold. No one see’s what achievements you had, and the achievements themselves aren’t anything challenging. You know?
Like… Killing 1000 mobs, ok.. Well, that’s cool. But not really something I care about. If maybe there was an achievement for not taking damage during a certain boss fight and getting a title, or maybe doing a jumping puzzle in under a certain time. Just SOMETHING.
But it doesn’t matter, even if you get it.. You cant show anyone. Sure you can see the numbers but, those don’t mean anything. I can have 10,000 achievements points but it’s ALL from salvaging things. So… What’s it matter?
Actually I do use achievements when judging players.
If I see you have less than 1500, you’re still new to the game.
If I see you above 2K, I expect you know how to play most of the game. If you’re above 3K well you’re pretty seasoned and I can depend on you.
I don’t think you realize just how expensive it would be to farm achievement points. That guy who had 18k spent at least 1000g using the cheapest salvagable material.
There are achievements out there that are just novelty while there are others that show your accomplishments and give you titles (like WvW Ultimate’s)

If you keep spamming to sell several items (I believe at least 6 or 7 in a row) you will get that message.
Just wait 30 seconds and it will allow you to sell again.
Actually I found this post on gw2guru from Linsey Murdock: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/arenanet-tracker/topic/239315-official-response-drop-rate-of-legendary-precursors/#16
There is something here that got my attention, these two setences: “We did fix a few bugged recipes that were rewarding Legendary precursors more often than they should have been” and “The recipes for throwing in level 80 exotics have not changed at all”.
If you pay attention to the last one, it means that there are different recipes for level 80 exotics, then some level 80 exotics may have a better chance than others.
You’re thinking way too hard on that line. If there was a bug, it would have been found out by now and the market would have been flooded with supply.
There is very little demand for holiday items. Most of them are holiday themed and as such aren’t appropriate to carry around.
Some skins though, like the greatsaw and the scythe are nice options.
i think you guys are underestimating just how much armored scales people have stockpiled. This was the most botted tier 6 material by far.
The real question is; What happens first? People depleting their stockpiles or bots coming back?
Personally i think we need another week before we’ve burned through most of the supply some people are holding and the bots could already be back by then…hmm.
I think that’s the biggest thing I have overlooked. The market right now is way too saturated and it’ll take awhile (a long while) for the total supply of armored scales (Scales that are on the outpost + in people’s inventory/bank) to drain out.
Even if we look at gw2spidy and notice that supply drops to, say, 20K, for all we know, that difference of 40k could be waiting in someone’s bank instead of permanently removed from the economy (through the forge for e.g.).
Wow, supply up to 60k.
Looks like all those people who speculated and bought up scales early on are cashing out.
No.
Until an item gets listed on the post for the first time, it won’t show up.
It is much easier to farm gold.
In fact, there is more mental than it should be.
Your primary goal should be to farm gold. The skillpoints will gradually come along with it, as well as the karma
Right now the best way to get karma is a zerg train in WvW – but that is hard and unreliable. Instead, farm shelt/pen in Cursed Shore. The karma there isn’t as good but the gold is top notch.
Farm gold, obviously
That 300g can easily grow.
It has been calculated that 1 mil karma at today’s prices is roughly 30-40g.
Dude, we have the exact same thread on this already.
send a customer inquiry.
IoJ is not helping one bit
You don’t have double the chance, but I’m positive you have equal chance to get dawn and also get dusk.
I was just checking the prices now and it is most profitable to start putting staffs in forge for The Legend. It is selling for 599g atm.
Theirs arent on the TP they are locked away on certain accounts. The ones on the TP belong to a small group of players who are friends with Anet I believe.
Lol…
Sadly, that mentality is prevalent here on these forums ;/
Removing your stored credit card information and adding it is a temporary solution to get past this.
I have two legendaries and I found the hard work and dedication to be fun and rewarding.
But then again people call me a gold buyer or someone who bought it from the TP, so I don’t really care.
If you put in districts, there will be a serious lack of community. I like having servers for PvE because I like seeing familiar faces and hanging with friends. To remove that would destroy the community outside of guilds.
If they were competitive gold sellers would leave the game eventually. If Anet made it so that gold sellers no longer made money, they would leave and go to a more profitable game. Or at least there would be less of them.
However I think that would be extreme and would crush the economy.
Gold selling is highly profitable, that is why they’re so persistent.
It costs them, what $40 per account? They can make that back really quickly.
Arenanet would overall lose more money by pricing down their gem prices. It’s unfeasible and bad business sense.
It’s like telling Gucci to price their $2000 bag down to $50 to combat counterfeits. Totally unreasonable.
ANet needs to be competitive with Gold Prices; 3rd party is crushing them.
Currently, for $1 you can get 0.95g through the Gem Store – Currency Exchange, direct from ANet.
3rd party offers 3.61g for each $1.I really, REALLY dislike gold sellers and never intend to buy through them; it’s just disappointing to realize that I’m effectively being punished by doing things honestly/according to the rules.
If ever I wanted to buy Gold, it would effectively be at a severe loss to me to buy it through ANet’s Gem Store – Currency Exchange when compared with a 3rd party alternative. What is there that can be done to address this and make it more worthwhile to buy Gold through ANet?
lol why should they be competitive? You’re assuming the buying gold from Arenanet has the same risk as buying gold from gold sellers.
Arenanet indirectly controls this market since they can ban (and rightfully so) people who can purchase gold.
People buy from Arenanet for the security that they get from making the transactions and supporting the developers/designers and other staff who make the game successful.
So no, they don’t need to be competitive. In fact, they should crush the competition by eliminating it. And they just did that, although temporarily, with the ban wave the past few days.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
If you’re going to gamble in the forge precursors, do not put anything other than greatswords. If you get Dusk, you can sell that for a ton, buy the cheaper precursor you want, and have money left over for other things.
CASE IN POINT:
If you want The Flameseeker, it sells for 200g
Dusks sells for 650g
If you are crafting all your rares (which you should be), it costs relatively the same to craft.
But the chance to get precursor is the same, and the value is huge. Selling Dusk nets you appx 550g, so you can buy Flameseeker and have 350g left.
There are no good skins that can come from crafting – all the good skins come from forge combines
It really all depends on the item you wish to craft. Please check here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge/Other_Items
Please note – I’m talking strictly weapons.
I’m not sure what is going on with it right now. The supply is climbing fast. I guess people who speculated on it at 6s or 4s are cashing out now?
People who were speculating for the past 2 days are probably trying to sell off, as well as the people who bought it low several weeks back are selling their inventory off.
As an example, Vicious Fangs
For awhile they were at 4s, and someone may have bought 3000 of them to bring them up to 6s. Now that they’re at 9s, he wants to drop them all off, which will halt the price until it gets all bought out.
Of course. 15char
Good to see that someone who spent that much time in game got it through hard work.
It’s much better than seeing people with 500 hours whining that they can’t afford their legendary.
Has anyone here had any success with crafting multiple Colossus, and if so what are the rates you’ve had?
If you’re going to try and craft a precursor, don’t do anything other than greatswords. If you had to choose between getting a Dusk or a Colossus in the forge, you should always take the Dusk, sell it on the TP and then use that money to buy Colossus (+ have extra money left over)
I really wished they made legendaries more difficult. I think the first legendaries started popping up within a month for those hardcore players. I was hoping, for a hardcore player, it would take at least 6 months :|
I think cost should be more of a factor. Vision is considerably cheaper than foefire even though they look somewhat similar.
There is just no incentive to have a PvE only guild. There are no raids here, and dungeons are limited to 5 people. Meta events usually have more than enough people, so you don’t need to grab all your guildies to do it.
Thanks for the answer.
Do you have an official statement of video of someone doing it??
I would cry if I changed the sigil and something bad happened.
It’s widely documented here that sigil has no effect.
I have two legendaries and changed the sigil on both. It’s fine.
Just don’t transmute.
From Colin’s comments, I interpret that we will have other ways to get precursors, not including the scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt is an entirely different beast at least 6 months down the line.
at this point people are starting to speculate on armored scales
This will be good.
PvE, PvP and WvW are in their separate zones so you won’t have any griefing issues.
That would be insanely difficult to implement
It’s real easy to get 200g if you stop spending.
If you make 10g a day and put 5g in the bank, you’ll get the achievement in a month.
But why would he have to do something else to get a lodestone (farming gold). He clearly went for farming lodestones, not gold. It’s about the choice. I do prefer to farm lodestones instead of farming gold to buy them. He has a point.
It’s his choice, and he’s whining about it, which is his own fault. If he wants to grind lodestones, sure, but don’t whine when you obviously lose out on drop rate per hour
It’s like having a choice between walking to McDonalds or driving to McDonalds, then choosing to drive to McDonalds, then whining that you have to use gas. Well, it was your choice.
If you want to survive in higher lvl fractals, you pretty much have to be elitist.
“I’ve farmed over 10 hours for 1 Onyx lodestone ! "
That’s your problem. It’s your fault that you decided to farm lodestones from mobs that are so sporadically placed with a long respawn timer.
Maybe you could realize that 10 hours of shelt/pen farm would net you 15-20G, and that you could buy Lodes?
And yes, I’m sure Arenanet promised you that you could get 1 Onyx Lodestone every minute. Is that what you want?
Not up yet it seems
Obviously not. 15char
I bet that’s where all the GM’s lounge out after a hard day of bot watching.
Well then it seems I invested in the wrong T6 mat (so far).
I invested about 120g in to armored scales about a month back when they were 8s. At the moment I’m sinking red. Maybe I should wait a month…
Kicking a guy because you suspect he’s using MF gear by seeing a Sigil of Luck being used is a pretty kittenumption.
I have two sets of gear, MF and DPS. I never use MF gear in a dungeon because it just slows things down. But I’m too lazy to change my sigil on my weapon so I just leave it there.
TP came back up, elaborate totems are now 21s and powerful venom sacs are 19. Wonder if there’s a relation. Perhaps they cleaned out a lot of posts from banned accounts.
Or people are speculating that it’s going to go back to the levels immediately after the November ban wave, with totems at 28 and bloods at 24.
Remember when globs were 38s a piece? I also kept buying ectos because I thought they’d keep going up. But it quickly crashed.
Changing sigil is fine.
Changing base stats is going to downgrade color status from purple to whatever status the transmuted item is (orange)
They’re in Tesco Burgers.
TOO SOON
Yeah, it’s like what I see in baseball.
In baseball, statistics are heavily relied upon and you can generate a ton of analysis based on that data alone. Some people make their own analysis tools that profit of said data.
But the data is owned by the league, and as such anything that profits off of it starts to enter a dangerous area.
I say if they are gonna add more legendary skins/stat combinations, everyone who owns legendaries by now should have a relatively more viable method of acquiring these alts than those without (such as via the mystic forge or an NPC dedicated to changing the skin/stats of your existing legendary) without having to craft an entirely new legendary of the same type.
Why should they? If they come out with new skins, great! that’s something new to work towards. That’s like saying that if they come out with a new class, you should be allowed to get a free way to get a fresh lvl 80 character for that particular class.
If they come up with new combinations, it’s irrelevant. You can combine it even if it’s soulbound already.
