The gods wanted to take away magic form the races at that time (cause we used it..wrong) but abbadon was against the idea, and then he got punished by the other 5 gods.
Yes you may say that several magical related catastrophies and wars were linked to abbadon cause he gave back some magic..but you cant blame the gun, blame the person who pulled the trigger.
It is a pristine condition relic of a statue, ofc the priory is interested in preserving it. The downed dance is a gw1 easter egg reference.
As for the zhaitans death and tail, tequatl got some of its magic and became stronger, there are still lots of zhaitans champions going around that could partially control the rizen on some areas.
And again, ofc the priory recovered the tail in order to conduct experiments in order to better understand dragons and how to find their weaknesses.
The Entire priory is not evil… some individuals might have some goals and doings that are “out of safety regulations” but arent most asuras like that? Everytime we see a asura experiment something bad and wrong happends, we fight if off and things go boom but in the end—> progress! and everyones happy
dont forget the human clockwork technology!
As for sylvari tech, as you mentioned before they can learn other races technology.
Their own “technology” is plant life based. While some melt iron and build contraptions, and other tinker with magical forces (combining them with physical crystals and gadgets) sylvari can simply grow things made out of plants.
Starting with their own “homegrown” clothing and armor, developing and growing turret like seeds/plants, growing plant based buildings and structures as well as having a great understanding of all plant like lifeforms (hence they are great at agroculture)
I dont expect a sylvari to build a tank, but with their inteligence they could help out or improve the engines, ammunition and other such things that arent so mechanical.
1) Im not sure but i still think that you cant do a lvl 50 story quest if you are lvl40…
2) Im not aware of many events being removed..still plenty to do around tho there are no more low lvl champions that made the famous queensdale champ farm
3) This is only a “problem” during the first 20-30 levels which are..lets be honest..they go fast fairly quickly
4) EotM leveling was a grind by it self..it was a okay thing for me to do for a few lvls but i have never considered doing it from 1-80..thats just too much for me.
#5. Endless Grinding of Hearts to Level: This is some thing i have argued endlessly, Heart grinding to level just isn’t fun after a while. it gets way to repetitive and some thing needs to be done to help there.
5) Doing the same hearts to level in a zone you already seen before a 100 times can get boring yes…but so can doing quests in a lvl you already seen a 100 times before in any other mmo..
#6. Tomes of Knowledge: Here is a subject i know is going to get a few people upset, but let me try to not do so here. I do believe tomes are just killing the leveling experience because players can just sit around and do nothing while obtaining tomes from their monthly to level if they really wanted to.
6) You get 10-16 tomes of knowledge per month..Youll need to play something else for 5-8 months in order to get a character from 1-80 with that..Otherwise you can “farm” them lots of pvp, or tons of writs of experiences from pve dailies.
Its a nice lvl boost from time to time, otherwise youll have to pvp a lot and keep them for a very long time in order to spam 80 of them for a instant lvl 80 character..
Also: You dont have to use them if it ruins your lvling experience
7) Yes its quite expensive but it isnt expensive cause people use it to lvl up….
Again, this is something i used only a few times in order to boost my self trough the last 2-3 levels
Here is how i still have fun leveling after 2400 hours of gameplay.
Gw2 is a game that gives you certain freedoms while leveling. Using those freedoms you can have a boring, fast, effective or repetitive, fun, fresh leveling experience.
I leveled my last character with a set of rules, a challenge if you will.
1) Can only use shiverpeak zones
2) Can not buy any items from TP or use anything from the bank
3) Can go to any city (and guild halls)
4) Must get to lvl 80 and kill Claw of Jormag with 0 deaths
These simple rules completely changed the way of my leveling:
1) I never facerolled any zone with my rare up to date full zerker gear (besides the first lvl…)
2) I was almost constantly at the mob level, and sometimes underleveled, and because of the 0 deaths rule it actually changed my build significantly, changing the gameplay completely considering most people go for the kitten kitten full zerker fire ele staff, warrior gs ect builds
3) I was checking all heart vendors to see if i can improve my gear, they were important for my gearing and survival, same goes to all the loot i got from mobs.
4) I participated on all events, and lingered around for just a bit more while talking with the npcs to see whats going on around me. I need all the exp i needed and it also got me a bit more involved into the world around me instead of just spaming swiftness from point 1 to point 2…
5) Every level up is a small victory, and i got super excited at lvl 65-70 knowing that im reaching my ultimate goal very soon… never have i felt happier geting lvl 80 (with 0 deaths)
6) Geting lvl 80 made me super happy and felt great, and killing claw of jormag at lvl 80 made me feel as a real achiever. I became more “close” to that character and it means much much more to me compared to a instant lvl 80 character that spent 600gold on crating or ate 50 tomes of knowleges and a scroll. And continuing to play with that character felt more enjoyable than with any other..even tho im doing some of the “same old” content ive been doing for years now
So yeah…there are plenty of other ways for one to lvl up. It might not be the most efficient and fastest way..but it sure is the most fun way..and isnt that what the game should be about?
Here are some of my opinions for pvp and i would like to hear yours as well.
1)
PvP isnt just about copy pasting a build from metabattle, jumping in queue and hope youll get “the better smarter team”,spam skills and hopefully you win.
Its about team firghts, focusing enemy players down, watching their movements and having map awareness in order to counter the enemy team more efficiently.
Example 1: Enemy team had 4 on mid, I think someone should go cap far
Example 2: Enemy team dropped to 1-2 on mid, I think 2-3 should go mid and cap it while someone defends close.
2)
People should use map specific advantages such as trebs, double cap points, svanirs ect. They reward tons of points, and are a gamechanger if you use it correctly and in the right moment.
Example 1: Your team says they dont need treb. I think thats okay as long as theres someone else that disables the enemy treb asap. Otherwise the mid will be lost in 4 treb shots
Example 2: Svanirs and double cap points buff are a must to defend and kill/cap. If you fail to get 1 its okay, but miss on 2 and youre sure to loose.
3)
People should never surrender, afk, start slacking, or simply start running around aimlessly trough the map and cap points because they lost the first initial starting mid cap.
4)
Its okay to take a break and “quit” pvp /leagues
Having a bad losing streak? Stop playing and do something else.
5)
It is not okay to do daily achievements with professions you have no experiences with in ranked matches, specially during devisions where you are able to lose tiers.
6)
It is not okay to be salty and toxic with other people after matches.
Dont whisper and block people after matches.
Dont blame xyz professions for your loss
Dont qq about xyz professions being too op (apparently almost all of them are op…)
If you are having a hard time with such people its okay to make a new chat tab wth everything turned off during the time you stay in pvp.
Do you agree? Disagree? Have anything to add?
I dont have a thing that i do separate each day but here are my things to do everyday, depending on what im in the mood for and how much time i have. (some things can be done fairly quickly so it doesnt matter if im not in the mood to do them, also not placed in any specific order)
-Daily achievements for 10ap and shards
-get 4 pips per day in pvp (currently at t3 ruby)
-Try to farm and figure out how to get tons of bauble bubbles to unlock sab skins..
-Continue to play my challenge character: Lvl from 1-80 without BL boosters,ToK,Scrolls or crafting, can only use gear from karma vendors and mob loots. Only availabe zones to lvl are cities and shiverpeak mountains. Get lvl 80 and kill claw of jormag with 0 deaths. (currently at lvl 80, 70% frostgorge sound map, 0deaths, 0 claws killed)
-Finish crafting ascended light armor (2 more days to craft 2 silks and im good to go)
-Buy order and sell bought items from tp
-Do a few dungeon runs if someone asks from my dungeon guild
I still think theres no need for a dps meter in this game other than for people whos sole goal is to stack as much power and ferocity as possible, might and dmg modifiers so they can attack a light armored boss and get the “worlds best dps” video on youtube..
and then others like that will try to top it off with their own youtube video featuring their own favorite class outdpsing the previous guy…
A dps meter in this game serves no purpose what so ever. Learn you the enconter, learn your class and rotation and you will make the best dps possible. How much exactly was it? Nobody cares, you got the dungeon/fractal/raid boss down and got the loot.
Also, there is no gear progression in this game, so unless you want to see how much dps you make as a lvl 35 wearing lvl 35 rares in ACp1 compared to the same instance with full ascended lvl 80 zerker gear, there is no real need for it
Why are there 2 types of swords?
Why are there guns and rifles?
Why arent there polearms?
Why arent there throwable spears..?
I dont understand the logic behind “i paid for hot, and i want season 3 for free”
ofc its gonna be free… i paid for the original game 3 years ago and i got s1 and s2 for free..among many other features patches and content… i got drytops silverwaste and southsun for free as well, why wouldnt i?
You buy the game and you get updates for free, you buy the expansion and get the updates for free…
I know s2 got locked behind a gemstore after its finished, but i still got it for free just by logging in…
I know some people might not be able to log in within a month period (tops with s3 for each episode i hope..unless its quite a long episode) but still…
IMO, this game rewards you by playing the game. Its almost free, with no obligations..so unless its (as with my situation) a job thing i dont see how people find excuses and whine about them making a “limited free eddition” for a very small part of content and not simply log in and play the game
my question has been answered… can we close this thread before it turns into a pointless “discussion” /rant about whos fault is what and how season 3 isnt free cause people had to pay the expansion to play it and whatever else people from the bandwagon come up with?
PS: i wanted to also post a reply to those topics that showed up here with comparison and logic and examples…but i dont think i can reason with them so…just close the thread…
Again:
Q:“Will living world season 3 be something like season 2 where a player would need to simply log in in order to permanently unlock it or something different?”
A:"If you have HoT then you will be able to play season 3.They might take more time between episode releases than the usual 2 weeks as seen before, and they didnt specify if they will be “unlocking the episodes permanently” as seen in season 2, but most likely will.
Thank you all for the replies.
I knew i had to have HoT to play s3 (I already have it)… i just wanted to ask if i will be able to permanently unlock the episodes in my situation (being able to log in once per week for only a hour or two).
I never mentioned (or wanted) them to give us s3 with a price to buy, or remove them from instanced gameplay.
i didn’t say anything about them moving away from instanced contend.
I just wondered if i will be able to “unlock” the season 3 by just logging in,since i most likely wont have enough time to go trough all the content once they start rolling by playing a 0-2 hours per week.
Then again, considering they mentioned they wont be releasing new episodes every 2 weeks, i just might have enough time to finish the episode before a new one shows up
Will living world season 3 be something like season 2 where a player would need to simply log in in order to permanently unlock it or something different?
My upcoming job will allow me to log in about once per week for a few hours and i wouldn’t want to miss on anything
1. Traveling the world has no meaning or benifts:
-leveling
-Exploring the beautiful world
-Encountering dynamic events
-loot/profit
-Zone specific currency/achievements that gives you skins and gear that cant be found anywhere else
-Jumping puzzles/mini dungeons
-Charming ranger pets
-plenty more
2. Open world is way way to easy!
-I can agree with most core tyria but not always with sylverwaste, drytops and hot maps
-Its easy cause mobs use attacks with 3 second delays, or use “special attacks” that dont do much at all
-Gw1 was harder cause enemies you faced used skills and builds that were as strong if not stronger than the players. It was also instance based with no “waypoints” or checkpoints other than a few outposts.
3.the world is not fully used. It would be wonderful to live the story and experience the beauty of the world that was created by Anet.
-Living story took us on a lot of places
-Nobody is holding you back from exploring the world your self…This game allows and encourages such activity
4. Customized housing! Building your own house decorated with trophies and treasures of your adventures would take this game to a new level making people want to stick around to build their own homes. Hell people play the sims just to build homes and watch their characters live in them.
-I would rather have instanced housing rather than thousands of players creating random crappy houses in the open world..not to mention the open world is placed into many separate instances cause of the megaserver system
-Instead of that, we have guild halls. A place where the entire guild could work and decorate the place. Tho it would be also neat if there would be a separate “flat” area in guild halls to make their own houses and such.
4. New skills!!! Skills that have to be found in the world and that are hard to get to. Like GW1 I would have to travel from one part of the world and get my kitten kicked countless times to learn a new skill or steal a skill
.
-This wouldn’t work very well in gw2 for a few reasons.
1) If we are talking about new singular skills they would most likely be strong in order for people to be bothered with to go trough a bunch of achievements, grind and zones to learn them
2) After they learn at least 3 of such skills they would most likely completely dominate everyones build, ignoring all the core skills a profession has
3) Profession skill balance
4) If we are talking about doing stuff to unlock some of the already existing skills that are powerfull such as the eles meteor shower or a warriors banner or something…
Well you would first have to remove them from everyones bar first and kitten off everyone, and then you would still end up having the same amount of skills..
-Also there are elite specialzations now,the only way they are considering adding new skills into the game. They might not take you on a magical journey to a specific town or a skill trainer or a boss, but will lead you trough the new maps in order to collect enough hero points to unlock them.
-Lets also not forget the time where we had to go to a specific location and do a specific event in the world to unlock our traits. It wasnt well received by the players
next expansion should be free?…
or..you know…we could get free updates and content for another 3 years..
i didnt knew revenants could wield daggers?
I can start casting my glyphs in 1 attunement, and finish casting them in a 2nd different attunement and as a result my glyph has a effect of the 2nd attunement.
however this doesn’t seem to apply to Glyph of Storms?
If i start casting glyph of storms in fire, and finish it in air attunement, i still get a firestorm.
Another thing i noticed is that all glyphs maintain their name, but change tooltips according to the attunement i am in. But glyph of storms doesnt.
In fire it literally shows a skill called Firestorm, in ice it becomes a skill called Ice storm, air shows Lightning storm, earth shows Sandstorm.
Maybe thats why i cant do it? Cause if i activate “firestorm” in fire attunement, i cant get Icestorm once i finish casting it in water attunement?
unless it has been Colins personal task to change it back (or slighly more) then we dont have to worry about it.
The things that are “on the table” is mostly for everyone to work on,unless they are specifically ordered to focus on certain things such as the raid team, the living story team, the new expansion team ect
is it always “bulky” even if your character is “slim”?
also it kinda reminds me of ac dungeon armor
Hello and welcome. If you have any questions about races, classes, gear or gameplay let me know.
Or mail me at vukorep.3081.
Note that your home server will be the one you will represent in wvw, otherwise you play with everyone else from all servers in the pve world via megaserver system
i open my client and notice it started to update, i check the news page and i see “bunny ears”… im expecting the gold to gems cost to blow up right now.. logging in right now to see it.
Also, i wonder if this is gonna become the next black wing infestation
i dont see your problem.
If you dont like them dont use them, simple as that.
Or does it bother you that other people might use a healing seed or turn into a norn bear form? Why? Does it also bother you that thieves go stealth as well?
Plenty of other non racial skills that are never being used…yet nobody complains or makes forum threads about removing them.
-Eles glyph of renewal
-Eles Conjure earth shield
-Warriors physical skills
-Rangers sharpening stone and some shouts
-Necro spectral grasp
-Necros corrosive poison cloud
-Guards spirit weapons (some, but usually all)
-Engies personal battering ram
-Engies thumper turret
-Engies toolbelt skills( some)
I havent seen anyone use those things since forever yet nobody complains to remove them… they just dont use them, just like racial skills
the log in bl chest isnt the same as the one that can be found from drops and opened up with keys.
It was supposed to be a rng with those items from the loot table.
The Black lion sends you a free pack once per month and you come to them and tell them “NO! this is bad, i dont need it, take this back and gimme something better!”
..yea its weird isnt it?
And even if we get such a thing, we SHOULD also get the same exchange thing with the regular blchests no?
I dont need another mini caithe and exp boosters, let me exchange 10 of them for permanent merchant summoner, and let me exchange 20 boosters for a permanent hair style changer!
you have to understand that HoT was more of a “large feature pack” instead of a “traditional” expansion where you get tons of new maps, more new dungeons, raids, gear, rewards, achievements and such.
they also kinda confessed this and they did say something like " we figured out what we want and how we wish to add new content in the future now. The features we added in HoT allow us to do so"
meaning the expansion No2. will indeed most likely be more filled with actuall content. more maps, more events, more raids, perhaps more dungeons or at least fractals, a new elite spec, more masteries and ..well. more of more
when i read this topic i assumed we are talking about a single character with xyz profession dealing the most dps compared to other single characters with xyz profession.
meaning there are no 25 might stacks, perma quickness, alacrity,25 vulnerability coming from your buddies next to you..
And even with all that it is STILL very situational. Are we talking about the highest dps in 10 seconds? 30? 60 seconds? Are we talking about single target dps? 5 target dps? large target or small target dps?
Cause theoretically i still believe a ele can outdps anyone…theoretically we could make him pump his might stacks with weapon swaps ,fire fields and blast finishers BEFORE the fight, and he could rain down tons of aoes that hit 5 targets at once…making the dps go 5 times faster…
ooh yea..i also forgot about condition builds. do we start counting dps on them form start or from the time when they start to sustain their max condition?
im from gandara eu…and in the last 3 years i recieved a total of 3 mails and about 10ish whispers… and all that was around at the same time.
last time i recieved those was aages ago
on some weapons i imagine it wouldn’t be a problem like those normal crafted swords for example.
They are exactly the same skin, but slightly different metal/wood color.
but on skins with animations, glow, and effects its a whole new thing.
But who knows!, maybe the new legendary armor will come with a inherent glow /effect that we can dye, and perhaps then we can dye the glowy/shiny weapons as well…
This reminds me also about that gem shop lunatic halloween outfit. changing its dye will change the flame colors
gw1 armor was individual for every profession and gender.
meaning there was no heavy/medium/light armor, there was:
Warrior,Ranger,Elementalist,Mesmer,Monk,Necromancer,Assassin,Ritualist,Paragon,Dervish armor.
and it came separate in male and female form..not just slightly different but full on difference.
this also happened with emotes, each profession/gender had different emotes, specifically ,dances
Well you have to remember not all of that is profit.
Even Evon Gnashblade has to pay his staff, all those TP locations are manned 24/7 by 1-3 agents, then there’s the weapons specialists (and anyone with specialist in their job title is going to be earning more), the Armor and Weapon traders, and that skritt who’s sorting the warehouse.
Plus they’ve got to feed the pigeons, and now parrots, ravens, griffons, quaggans and who knows what else. (They’re probably getting a good deal on the ghosts though, I think they feed mainly on despair and inconsolable rage so a few minutes of free time to hang around the Mystic Forge probably does it.)
Precisely! It’s not all party time and endless profits. There are many ’spenses to pay!
Have you forgotten who pays for your armor repairs!?
And what about that thing where Mr. Gnashblade was ..asked..to do by Ellen after la was destroyed?
i partially agree with the op and here is why:
Here is the rundown of the enemies you will face in tyria:
1) the core tyria is filled with animals that attack you once per 2-3 seconds, eventually using their fast pecking attacks, call a fellow wolf, shreek to stun abilities.
2)it is also filled with other “zone specific archtype” enemies such as sons of svanir, the bandits, pirates, flame legion, ghosts of ascalon ect.
these are a bit more interesting cause you can notice they have different professions and each profession has 1-2 “unique” attacks.
however most often you kill them faster than they could use those attacks, and even if they do it doesnt deal that much dmg.
you might get downed if you face several of those types of enemies and they suddenly all use their speciall attack on you..but then again people dodge and cc.
3) Veterans usually just have more hp and defense, maybe a additional effect/attack can still be dodged and bursted down.
4) Champions require at least 2 player watching their backs when confronted, their attacks can deal lots of dmg and the fight lasts quite a bit compared to other mobs.
Silverwaste and drytops(specially hot maps) offer a large varirety of mobs that actually pose a threat. most of them come with events that further requires you to group up in order to survive.
Abilities and skills such as immune when atacked from front, deadly when flanks you, heals and buffs allies is something simply unseen in core tyria. Not to mention enemies that apply conditions and cc that actually pose a threat to you constantly and not just once every 10 seconds.
As for “blocking” paths with hard mobs, ive seen it only in a few JPs where there are a group of veterans or a champion guarding the end chest. Or the entrance to drytops it has events that require you to clear them out from both sides in order to continue to drytops.
And then theres also the issue where the entire playerbase is facerolling trough the entire core tyria by pulling 10 moas, 15 rizen ,cc them and blast them with meteorshowers before you get downed 3 times without any problem..and then they come into zones where it gets harder to pull off such a stunt and then they cry things are hard and dumb cause their 0 defence gear and build cant survive mobs that attack you more than once every 3 second.
Another problem is that dungeons have such mobs inside as well, making people speed clear them for easy gold..untill they droped down the gold reward and now people went doing other profitable things. (cant wait for that gold rise tho)
hello, i havent been playing for a while. Mainly because i wasnt able to play on my old laptop during the time i wasnt close to my desktop one.
But soon ill be getting a good one and ill be able to play everyday if i wish.
So far i have a bunch of lvl 80 characters, all with exotics as well as 1 full heavy ascended armor. (Human: Ele,Guardian,War,Necro,Mesmer,Thief. Low lvl sylvari ranger,Low lvl charr engineer, no revenants.
I never gotten 100% map completion and i only plaid hot till i got the gliding unlocked.
Im thinking to lvl up a new character perhaps with a different race as well and kinda make it a new “main” character that i wish to focus spending my time on.
Instead of running around in eotm, consuming about 25lvl worth of tok’s i have or spending gold on power crafting, i will lvl my character in a special way following a few made up rules..just to keep it more interesting and a bit more challenging.
Here are the rules if you wish to join me or try it out your self
-Visit guild hall and get a 10% exp boost from the tavern
-Mine guild hall gathering nodes (daily)
-Explore the guild hall for exp (i have 2 guilds with both guild halls,so i get “double rewards”
-Explore the pvp lobby (yes those WP and PoI’s do indeed give character exp)
-Explore all the cities to 100%, this will make me start at lvl 10ish
-Gather a few nodes in my home instance (daily)
-Must lvl only within Shiverpeak zones (lvl 1-80 zones are connected)
-Must get to lvl 80 and kill claw of Jormag with 0 deaths
-Not allowed to craft
-No exp scrolls, writs, toks,or consumable exp boosters allowed (food and guild boosters are ok, using other players banners, communal boost bonfires is also ok)
-Not allowed to buy anything from the tp, gear comes from karma vendors and loot
-Doing dungeons is ok, but only if done from start to end on the “challenger” character (doing it on 1 character and switching on the “challenger” to get the exp at the end is not allowed)
-Getting help from other players is ok (being in a party, getting banners, protection)
-Using gear/food and other items from other players isnt allowed (its just like buying stuff from tp..but for free)
Note: These rules only apply during lvling up a character, after i lvled to 80 and killed a claw of jormag with a total of 0 /deaths the rules dont apply anymore and i can proceed with my other goals.
And here is my “long term” plan and goals:
Early game goals (setting up everything by doing the following:
-lvl the char up to lvl 80 and kill claw of jormag (with the specific made up rules)
-Get some good gear (any gear rly.. greens, rares, will spend on exotics once im done with experimenting with builds, and if heavy profession will most likely use the ascended one
-Run far and “Unlock” all way points near boss events and dungeon entrances.
Mid game goals:
Priorities:
-Finish the Zhaitan story
-Finish the LSs2 Story
-Finish the HoT Story
Side goals that i can do when im not focusing on story:
-Find and apply a “perfect” combination of armor/weapon skins and their collor for at least 1 “main gear” set that i will be using most of the time.
-Finish all dungeons
-Unlock elite specialization to 100%
End game goals:
-Explore the whole world (hot as well) to 100%
-Find all secret chests
-Find all diving spots
-Find and finish all jumping puzzles
-Complete 1 precursor achievement
-Compete a 2nd precursor achievement
Side Goals:
-Perhaps craft at least 1 legendary weapon now?
-Try and finish all fractals and their achievements (i haven’t rly been much in them over the last 3-4 years)
-Try and finish all raids and their achievements (still havent even tried one)
-Try and finish all drytop, silverwaste as well as LSs2 achievements
-Finish all masteries,or just a few “main” ones (or just a few “main ones” till i get to the point of “better focus on other masteries now as lvling this one further gives little or no rewards”
-Try and finish all adventures.
-Unlock all dungeon skins
-Max all crafting profession ( its at the very bottom of my list, but it would be nice to have them all :P )
In the meantime i will be also attending on guild missions and doing some other “temporary” content and events such as halloween, wintersday, even the pvp league, as well as a few guild/server wvw “raids”
Now i have a few questions for you:
1) What else should i include in my goal list? Did i miss something that i can complete and achieve? Is there anything else i could add on my to do list? Anything at all? A challenge, farming, getting a specific set of skins?
2) Any suggestion on what profession should my new character have? I dont mind making a new warrior or whatever i already have at lvl 80 as i said i will most likely change the race to experience new personal story as well as create a new style with armor/weapon sets ect.
they did say they are looking into and will increase the dungeon gold rewards. not that they will return it back as they were before but will increase it
Lack of room often turns out to be more of a hoarding problem rather than a lack of slots. 360 spots in the bank + storage toons + 2000 for mats… that’s a ton of room for all sorts of things.
I’d welcome (and buy) more tabs, too. However, I recognize that’s because I keep a lot of stuff for sentimental reasons and because “one day” I might have use for things (even though in 3 years, I’ve never had a need for e.g. a mobile TP pick up NPC). I’ve kept skins that take up a slot, that I’ve never used (and can’t imagine using), because, well, why waste a transmute charge, in case I might change my mind in the next 3 years?
But I digress. The main thing is: all of us tend to keep ‘junk’ around longer than we need to.
This i can agree with. I have 20 bag slots on all my characters and some of them even have max inventory slots. I keep the gizmos, “keys” and some tonics in my character bag such as silverwaste shovels and wintersday bell and torch of kryta.
My single default bank tab is full of boosters and my guild banks (all 3 of them) are filled with mats im hoarding….
Why am i hoarding mats? I gather all mats i encounter and while i did use them in getting a few armor to 500 in order to craft ascended armor…i still seem to gather more than i can consume (and i don’t feel like selling them atm)
There are only 6 true gods in the current timeline. We could go technical and say there are 5+ kormir and that lyssa is 2 in 1 (lol) ,we can also say there are 0 cause they left… but doesn’t change that there are 6 true gods in the current timeline.
As for poison… get condi clenses and higher health pool, change your build a bit or feel free to make more posts about how there are specific areas in the game that make it hard for your full glass cannon character to survive…
I love using a sword/shield in games and while i can do that on my guardian (or a chronomancer…) it just doesn’t make me feel as “savage” and strong. The guardian is leaning more towards magics while warriors go for raw strength. They dont shoot magical sword projectiles, their cuts bleed the foes.
I understand that while they use lots of weapons, most of their skills are raw and dont do much except dmg the opponent.
Another reason why i enjoy is that it allows me to play a tall strong norn (some people prefer charr) with the biggest and largest weapons in the game and the ability to leap into the fray, dealing dmg all around myself and even if i fall, i get to rise up several times and come out victorious filled with blood of my enemies….i mean… the warrior is the only class that lets me make a almost invincible killing machine.
Lots of base hp and armor that can be further improved with stats, lots of sustain with self healing, condi clense, empowering himself and others around him, the ability to defy pain and death numerous time (a set up i made that is extremely fun)
Fireball deals the same amount of dmg if they either are standing in lava font or not. I don’t get why you would bring that up.
And i’m not even talking about PvE, i said moving targets. PvE mobs hardly move at all, so that’s not a problem. Sure elementalist got 4 different #1 skills, but that doesen’t give any benefit if they are all less than medicore skills, with the same or longer casting time than other classes. The problem i have with them is that they have like 50% miss ratio on moving targets, and deals a low amount of dmg.I don’t get why you list this basic info instead of talking about the issue, why do you even comment in my thread?
What i dont understand is what do you expect from a weapon that is designed as a long range /support / “heavy magical” weapon for the ele? (compared to the others ,the scepter would be medium range semi-burst and dagers would be short range burst weapons)
I mentioned that pairing the 1200 range 3 target splash auto attack fireball with the 5 target aoe heavy hiting lava font can deal huge amount of dmg compared to other classes “combos”.
You think a fireball is slow and cant hit a moving target? Try using a scepter on a guardian.
And why would a massive* fireball ,a bolder or a bucket amount of water move trough air as fast as a arrow?
*Fireballs used to be massive…then the visual nerfs came
-fireball has some nice dps when used on top of 3 other mobs that are standing in your lava font
-Water blast has weak dmg, slow attack but it does heal nicely. Most commonly used to heal the melees that hit your target (a boss or a champion). Can also be aimed where it lands in order to self heal if you shoot it in your feet, or in npcs.
-Chain lightning has decent dmg, also hits 3 targets like fireball but instead of blasting 3 that are near each other they bounce on 3 different enemies that are far away from each other or moving. Most commonly used to “tag” many mobs during a event of some sort with lots of mobs around.
-Stoning has ok dmg, single target only, applies weakness for 3 seconds (it is kind of a permanent protection against the boss or a few elite mobs). A lot of people forget that this skill is a spammable 100% projectile finisher. Use it to your advantage as you on your own have lots of combo fields with your staff alone.
Elementalist is about switching attunements and using the various tools to your advantage whenever a specific situation shows up. Other classes do this as well. They can only use 2 skill sets for their situation, we have 4
Sometimes i meet people that seem either dumb or just super close minded…
I understand some are just trolling and trying to get some conversation going on and get some reactions….but there seems to be more and more of such people around me…
Here are the things that made me create a new chat tab without /map and sometimes without /guild chat. If you have any of your own please add them in the replies.
NOTE: Devs..please for the love of god dont read this following list as a list of suggestions or a list of things that bother players. This is a list that lazy, whiny people say in map chat, and sometimes in large guild chats. Please don’t make any changes based on such people in the future of the game.. Read only constructive suggestions.
1) I cant wait for tyria gliding, no more will i fall to my death!
2) Buying a eternity from TP will unlock dusk, dawn, sunrise and twighlight skins. I think the eternity prices will skyrocket when people find out about this!!!
3) Buying eternity form tp unlocks 5 skins, but it costs less than actually buying the skins separately….and that sucks
4) Daily free log in rewards suck, people will stop playing the game and just log in for 10 seconds and log out
5) Orr mobs are so annoying with their skills that cripple you and bleed you..and omg lets not talk about silverwaste and maguuma jungle mobs those are a nightmare. Why cant all mobs be like before orr (…like boars and moas that attack once per 5 second)
6) The personal stories and living stories are faaar too long!!!
7) Why do i need to buy living world s2 stories?? Its unfair other people got it for free when it came out!!!
8) Legendary crafting takes too much grinding and takes too long
9) Legendary armor takes too much effort and is such a chore and bore
10) The reason why there is no SAB anymore is cause nobody likes it. World 2 was way too long, way too hard and it had no rewards. Nobody plaid it, it sucked.
11) You absolutely must play the same 1 build from lvl 1,trough all 3 stories as well as finishing the entire world completion to 100% and dungeons..cause its the zerker meta.
12) You have exactly the same amount of power as my full zerker ,more hp and more armor and 20% less critical chance? Why!? You dont need that, such a waste of your gold. Should have just sticked with full zerker..
13) Silverwaste is hard, i get 1 shot everywhere without any reason
14) Maguuma jungle sucks, i get 1 shot everywhere without any reason
15) Bye, im quitting gw2 for good….. -logs in tomorow- Hi all anyone wanna do any fractals?
17) Dragon hunters are soo bad and they suck in pvp, only noobs play DH
18) Thieves are soo bad and they suck in pvp, they just use cheese builds
19) Reapers are soo bad and they suck in pvp, They cant be killed and omg minion masters
20) Druids are soo bad and they suck in pvp, they are annoying and invincible
21) Berzerkers are soo bad and useless in pvp, nobody plays them
22) Mesmers are soo bad and suck in pvp, they just bunker down and kill people
23) Tempests are soo bad and suck in pvp, its impossible to kill them and the doorbreakers that they keep healing…
24) Turret engies cant be beaten, and stealth hammer forge is too strong
25) Heralds are just too strong they need a big nerf!!
26) PvP divisions suck..why cant i get my legendary wings in 3 weeks?!!
27) The new modrem teritory jungle that is infested with enemy modrems and destroyed pack fleet ships doesnt have enough merchants and waypoints!! (should build a city somewhere there)
28) There is nothing to do in this game
29) Blame Wooden Potatoes for xyz
30) The original guild wars is superbly better than its sequel… no im not playing gw1…
31) I plaid the game for 3 years and now i have to pay 50$ for a expansion!?! And new players get to play the core game for free, and get it for free if they buy the expansion!?!!?
32) Gem prices (in gold) are too high!
33) How can i get more gold? (after explenations and suggestions from lots of people) So theres no easy way to get more gold?
34) How do i get exotic gear? ( after explenations and suggestions from lots of people) Thats just too expensive for me…
35) Dungeons ,fractals and raids need specific classes and builds to be finished. There is NO other way to finish them
they arent a necessity in pve.
They are used in raids so people can create a 10 man squad..tho only the 1/10 players needs the tag in order for someone to start a raid squad.
as for other pve people tag up so others can see where they are during specific events.
Mostly used in large scale meta events like tripple trouble and tequatl where lots of people need to be separated in several differnet groups
rotation is using a set of specific skills in a specific order so you get the most damage per second with your specific build.
Min/maxing is using specific gear, food, utilities, sigils and other things in order to boost your stats to the absolute maximum
tho i have nothing against it, i wouldn’t base all this on 2 runes that are currently “meta”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Destroyer_Scythe
it was a staff pvp skin, it is not available anymore in the current game.
The destroyer weapons got a name swap into primordus weapons and now we have http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Primordus_Staff ..for some reason
Pvp is about fun. It doesnt have to be always META. Stop the fuzz about how bad war is in pvp.
Greetings.
A pvp player.
no..it doesn’t have to be always META…but it kinda does if you want to go trough 6 ranked divisions and a bunch of meta pvp achievements trough at least 2 seasons of pvp league for that shiny legendary backpack/glider
So after taking a look at what the pvp league offers i found out the following.
-A division rank icon next to your name
-Achievements to progress with in order to create a legendary back piece trough 2 seasons (not enough pvp tickets)
My goal was to synchronize the daily pvp achievements along with the various pvp league season 1 achievements, with at least getting into ruby league so i might get enough pvp league tickets in season 2 for the legendary backpack.
I started out casually, i have only playing the professions mentioned in the daily achievements and i plaid till i finished those, as well as the 3 daily ranked matches.
Amber division was pretty fun, i got hooked up and was looking forward to the next day. I was also finishing the wintersday reward track at the same time for a few special rewards i wanted.
Soon, i got into emerald. Currently im 1 point into tier 1 emerald after about 10 matches… this doesn’t look promising…
After talking with a few fellow pvpers and asking for tips and help (and ignoring a handfull of others that were either QQing or saying things like “git gud” and “l2p”) i fond out that in order to progress more successfully in emerald i should team up with at least 1 more player and go duo queue (unlike the normal solo queues i was in so far) and that we should play dh and revenant.
After thinking a while about it,there are really 2 outcomes with this.
1) I can stick with playing random professions as best i can in order to progress with the “win x times with y profession” achievements…tho it may result into many losses and essentially no or very slow division progression
2) I can forget about achievements and play the same 1-2 professions in order to progress faster trough the divisions.
Now one might think it really comes down to it. You either go for achievements or divisions for your shiny tag next to your name.. but it isn’t as both of those things are required for the legendary back piece.
So how do i deal with this situation? A lot of people i know would quit at this point, even more never bothered with the league at the first place…
But for all those who are in a similar situation heres my solution to it.
Atm im at the bottom of the emerald division. It doesn’t matter if i loose. So i will be focusing on the “win x ranked matches with y professions” achievements NOW.
If i loose nothing, if i win (and thats the point of the achievements) i will gain a point for the division tier. When im done with the profession achievements i will focus on playing matches with some “more forgiving” professions, or better yet leave those professions last for the achievements in order to progress trough the divisions.
Will i be solo queuing? For now i will, tho i will look for a buddy in the meantime for later divisions.
Eddit:
Update on my experience:
I found out that only a set of specific achievements work on the meta pvp achievements, and i need those in order to progress. Achievements such as “win x amount with y profession” dont contribute to the meta.
There is even a meta achievement that requires me to win 3 ranked matches every day, for a total of 60 days i believe…
Realizing this, i am left with the conclusion that i should focus on bringing up my division as far as possible, no matter the preferred profession or build.
I can “grind trough” the other achievements that i need for the meta one ( except the one that requires 60 days) .Knowing that ill focus on bringing my division up since it is the one that is resetting. Already looking around my guilds for pvp buddies.

it would be pretty cool if you could unlock the winters presence effect as a special effect rather than a skin.
and later you can attach the effect to a shoulder piece, or simply use the effect as the halo/devil horns potion.
do people in the guild still do dungeons fairly often? Or are you all just focusing on fractals and raids?
Don’t get me wrong…this is NOT some sort of a qq post or a complain or anything…
Its just a idea that came to my mind, and i decided to do a little bit of math that i wish to show to everyone and also perhaps ask if anyone is interested in going along with me with this.
So i was looking at the dungeon skins and i thought there’s a thing that can keep me busy.
There are 8 dungeons and 25 dungeon paths (without the story paths or fractals)
Doing a single path once per day nets me a total of 60 dungeon tokens and 35-50silver (mostly) or 66s-1.55gold (aether path and arah)
Doing all of the dungeons every day (i assume it takes quite a bit) will net me a total of 240 arah tokens, 180 all other tokens and 12,05 gold. Plus whatever gold i get from the loot and whatever tokens i get from the token bags.
Ok. And now lets say i wanna get all the skins for all the armor pieces and weapons from each dungeon vendor.
It takes 10290 tokens (of each dungeon) for all that.
Assuming i do all dungeons paths of all dungeons once per day ,I can get 10290 arah dungeon tokens in 42 days and the other dungeon tokens in 57 days.
At day 42 when i unlock all Arah weapons and armor dungeons i will net a total of 506,10 gold, and when im all finished at day 57, i will end up having all dungeon armor and weapon skins and a total of 627,75 gold. (Random loot and mats not counted in gold sum)
To sum it all up. I need to clear all dungeon paths for 57 days (arah only for 47 days) to get a total of:
-All dungeon weapons
-All dungeon armor
-627,75 raw gold (more if you count the random loot you get)
-296 exotic dungeon weapons and armor (can turn into 74 exotic weapons using MF)
On average this sums up about:
-11,02 gold per day
-5,19 new skins every day
-1,30 random exotic per day (if you throw the dungeon gear into mystic forge)
There are also achievements for each dungeon cleared and also 1 for all achievements combined.
The total of all achievement rewards i would get are:
-160 Dragonite ore
-40 obsidian shards
-24 champ bags
-16 rare item
-8 exotic item
-1 vision crystal 1
-5 bags that drop rare gear, and a chance at exotic gear
-The dungeoneer title
-8 ascended accessories with various stats
So the total rewards for unlocking all weapon and armor skins in all 8 dungeons is:
-Dungeoneer title
-All dungeon armor skins for all 3 armor types (144 pieces)
-All dungeon weapon skins for all professions (152 pieces)
-8 Various ascended accessories
-1 Vision crystal
-160 Dragonite ore
-40 Obsidian shards
-24 Champion bags (random greens,rares,maybe a exotic)
-5 Bags of rare loot (drops rare gear, and a chance of exotic)
-16 Rare gear
-627,75 raw gold
-296 exotic dungeon gear (can be thrown in mystic forge for 74 random exotic gear)
-A great number of random greens and rares as common dungeon run loot. Can be sold,or salvaged for more profit
Now if anyone thinks they want to pursue all of this please let me know in the comments, leave a mail or whisper me in game.
If there are enough people i can group you all up in my “personal” bank guild. Im not promoting my guild… It would be just a large group having a chat and a place where they can meet up and do dungeons together with all day for 57 days

I just got into emerald league and recieved 15 pvp league tickets and i went to look up on the wiki how can i get more, and where can spend them.
according to the wiki http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_League_Ticket
I am able to get a total of 95 pvp league tickets.
Assuming i dont go for a mini liama and i dont spend any tickets on shards of glory i can focus on getting The Ascension ,the legendary pvp back piece (also a glider)
However upon looking into it further i actually require a total of 125 pvp league tickets in order to fully build the legendary back piece….
Am i missing something? Is there another way of earning pvp league tickets that im not aware off?
Or do the league divisions reset on the next pvp league and i can get more pvp tickets that way? Meaning it takes 2 leagues to get the final legendary back piece?
the game is automated with the event schedule. A very tiny team is monitoring it and fixing some bugs if they find any (tho after more than 10 y its very little where you see patches regarding bugs). They also have a occasional ban wave that bands bots mostly.
The last time they added something new was for the 10th anniversary. They added special anniversary weapons that ,tho not with "perfect"stats, they surely had very very unique and interesting skins.
It is also available during every anniversary event.
All that being said i would still love for them to perhaps finish the BEYOND story. Heck they can even make another set of bonus mission pack i would love to play trough that as well.
Because of the nature how old the game and its community is, the majority of people playing it are playing “end game”. Adding new content like the rest of the beyond series will refresh the community and also face more different challenges with new mobs and new builds.
As for PvP…well…its all up to the community. Unless there isnt a double specific pvp reward event going on you will see most of the community playing in the zones with double reputation reward events
in gw2 there is a weapon set that can be used overall in pve, but also specific weapon sets that are best suited for specific encounters.
1h sword has the auto attack as well as zealots defense that attack a foe multiple times at once. this can be used to trigger virtue of justice more often and can be used as a base for condition(burning) builds.
Maces ,while oriented for defense, can give out quite a punch in damage
Scepters is your standard non dragon hunter ranged weapon, it has a nice trait attached to it that gives you might, and the smite skill has the potential to be the strongest attack in the game (if it is well placed on a mob with a large hit box)
As for offhands, focus is mostly used for its utility with blocks, blinds, regeneration as well as condition removal.
Shields are better than focus in some specific situations, like where theres projectile heavy pressure,or places where there is a risk of the projectiles killing you or people around you quite often.
Torch is mostly used in pair with sword cause it is the “most optimal” offhand when it comes to the before mentioned burning build. Cleansing flame is also one of those attacks that hit a enemy multiple times (10 times 3 targets) and is able to trigger Virtue of justice quite often.
PS: when you get better at knowing your class, in most cases while you’re running around in pve and exploring you can take whatever you wish. I find my self often running with a sword/shield non condition based build cause i like the sword/shield looks.
