“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
Guardian maximum limit 15 chars
Let’s start by adding elites, yes? They are the category with less viable choices, having 2 at best per build. Oh and please avoid signets with boring actives
And Tera has (had?) plenty of skills that rooted you in place, a mechanic that doesn’t mesh well with action-combat. If anything, I’d describe GW2’s combat as superior. Both systems have their flaws and seeing how the guy behind the video mainly plays Tera, I’m not surprised about him not mentioning GW2.
But I didn’t want to start a “my game is better than yours” war, just wondering how he missed it.
I didn’t like the part in which he failed to mention GW2 while talking about MMO’s combat. I mean, it’s probably one of the best combat systems around right now.
I honestly don’t have any trick or tips to share with you, it’s just the way I play. Then again I easily satisfied the drive to get BiS gear months ago as I play only one character and have yet to level a second one to 80.
I don’t know, try stopping to think about legendaries? Ascended items don’t cost gold (if you do guild missions) and laurels shouldn’t be such an hassle to get, given enough time.
Nope, unless you have stored a ticket from a chest you opened back when F&F was going on. Also wrong section again buddy.
This could be “Manifesto” all over again.
New skills, when? Next month? Next year?
Before 2014, as the blog says “2nd half of 2013”.
.
Have you guys played a game called League of Legends? In that game you have champions that can get money by killing neutral monsters, minions and enemy champions. Using that money you can buy items, which improve the character’s stats in different ways depending what items you buy. Buying items presents a decision for the player: what kind of character you want to be? Items help the champion in fights and successful team wins the game. Itemization is interesting part of the game and it makes sense.
Have you played this game called Guild Wars 2? In this game you level up by exploring, killing enemies and generally being a goody-two-shoes. As you level up you become stronger and gain materials and coins that can later be used to improve your character through the acquisition of new, better gear. There’s a variety of gear with different stats and choosing an armor over another defines what your character is and does. Itemization is an important part of the game. Succesfull, well crafted groups roflstomp WvW and dungeons and win SPvP matches. It makes sense.
Why would you compare currencies (baubles, karma jugs) and special items (boosters, mystic coins) to actual gear, especially from a much simpler game? If you don’t make proper comparisons it’ll be hard for it to make sense.

I’m missing something here an Engineer is meant to be a ranged class.
Identified your problem, you can thank me later.
Engineer’s rifle is one of the most fun weapons to use in my opinion. That being said, wrong section for this thread.
r.
The ability to switch stats at will its not something with low impact on the game.
just think how some professions can change from roaming to siege to zerg to defence with it in www..
Watch me as I change less than 10% of my stats and cover a completely different role!!! Ahahah please, give me a break.
I can understand though, I’m not particularly creative and it must be really hard to come up with an argument that makes this particular change look like a bad thing.
Ouch!!! That one hurts DaiBish!
Looks very promising, but we’ll see if they manage to put out all of this in 4-5 months.
2 week period? More like 4 months. Let’s get informed shall we. And how dare they gift their supporters unannounced and unadvertised fluff items!!! So greedy!
(sorry for the off topic)
For materials obtained through salvaging or as you said, a little bit of silver.
I suppose they are working on anti-cheat measures before adding things that could be exploited in WvW. See for example the players banned for doing a JP that has been there since launch…may indicate that they are testing and slowly implemented some hack-detection system?
Nope, been there for the longest time.
But achievement leaderboard is a joke anyways!
I wonder what happened to Elona Reach…
What? Underwater downed state is OP, if anything. Just remove somehow the ability to move underwater
2200 hours on ranger here and no I don’t want more discrimination in high level fractals from people whining that rangers suck on AR because pet’s die in aoe.
It’s perception.
It’s not perception really, but this doesn’t mean that skilled rangers/engies/whatever can’t be of use to a party. I think rangers are weak in dungeons but I wouldn’t deny one a slot in my party (fractal lv 42).
People exaggerate things all the time, and let perception blow things out of proportion. My guildies kept on swearing that you NEED 3 zerk warriors + mesmer + guardian to get unfriendly skies achievement, while I got it with 1 war 1 guard 1 necro and 1 ele + another guard that disconnected for 3/4 of the fight. There’s nothing you can’t do in this game (PvE) if you have a good build and are skilled enough, but that doesn’t mean that rangers aren’t weak and a sub-par choice.
He’s not referring to vertical progression as something innovative I believe. He’s saying that GW2 is innovative as a whole and that it is because Arenanet keeps experimenting just as they did with GW1. Take an old element and see how it can work in a different environment under different philosophies. That is innovation.
Sorry if I got that wrong, my english isn’t that great.
(I didn’t like the introduction of Ascended items, putting this out to prevent flaming)
Nothing has been said about this matter, as far as I know.
I almost fell off of my chair. Thank you OP
Have my +1 sir. Playing minigames with friends would make them 100x more fun and would have close to no repercussion for certain ones ( such as Sanctum Sprint )
Allow me to disagree: what made the dungeons fun (for me) were the dungeons themselves, not their rewards or their lenght. The dungeons would’ve been the same to me if they gave no jetpack/monocle. But you are entitled to your opinion, of course.
Now you should definitely check out the recent livestream with Colin Johanson because if I recall correctly it also addresses the issue of limited-time items and he says both the jetpack and the monocle are NOT coming back. But don’t quote me on that as I’m not 100% sure.
If anything, I see them adding slightly reworked versions of the dungeons as fractals with normalized rewards and scalable difficulty. But that’s just me and we don’t know much about what they have in store for FotM.

New skills? Press f1
That’s about it though, as far as new skills go.
Indeed, I was being sarcastic for people who didn’t get it.
@ DoctorOverlord
I’m not against people posting opinions different from mine. I don’t even know why would you address me when you seem to understand that my issue is not with a differing opinion but with spreading poison in every single thread you can.
@Devata
Problem is if some fractals take a lot more than others people will inevitably skip them, which makes the whole point of adding more fractals moot. Having each fractal take a similar amount of time/effort would be ideal imo.

You want another compelling and unforgettable fight as the one against Zhaitan? How about we give them the time it takes to build awesome content instead of rushing it and releasing it half-baked?
Also just because there are no dragons it doesn’t mean it’s filler content.
Is this supposed to be a good news? No one liked them… and i can assure you that for lev40+ EVERYONE will be skipping these two. So this is just two additional fractals everyone will skip like they skip dredge/shaman/cliffside. GG.
Can you stop crapping on other people’s fun? Move on already and leave this forum. I enjoyed both dungeons and they’re probably gonna be reduced in lenght to be a fractal.
At least Vizunah can say that playing for points got them far…;)
We don’t know how voting will work, but people are already crying about it.
FALL OF ABBADON?! :Q__
They are moving towards zone-centric music with current releases
I’ve played against 5 mesmers in a tournament. We won. We didn’t have any necro.
This anectodal evidence totally invalidates yours.
The Baazar’s first area is only a bunch of merchants, but it goes up and up in the sky for a while :P
We receive content updates every 2 weeks, and each release focuses the content on what’s going on currently in the game. Most of it goes away when the following chapter gets released, but some of the content introduced remains. You definitely want to check out what’s going on, but it shouldn’t be your priority if you don’t enjoy that particular chapter. Also, some of it might not be suited for newer players: for example we got a really tough dungeon the previous release.
It’s an original, bold project and it has been received with mixed feelings, as some people think the quality of content might drop due to strict time-schedules, or have other issues.
Anyways, you can find a summary of each patch here : https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases

I’m glad people are enjoying the kites! Though I’m displeased that Arenanet would once again release items with no prior knowledge given to the costumers. Also, that these items are presently exclusive. To me, not being upfront with and limiting the customers opportunities, are not a healthy or honorable way to conduct business.
I’ve first noticed this with the mini’s, then the Starcake Recipes, and now the Kites. A good precedent this does not make. How can the costumer have trust in this environment?
I’d like to hear many opinions on this. And, before anyone say’s it, I have spend hundreds on gems in the past. Just spent $50 the past two weeks on gem cards too. It’s not knowing when to, how much to, and what will be the return that is the core of the mistrust I’m referring to.
Simple solution : Spread out your purchases. One each month should easily cover every opportunity. If you really spent that much, I’m sure you’ll have no troubles getting the freebies. This goes for anyone who complains about the free gift.
Yes, I definitely think they should allow you to use more weapons on certain professions. For example, I can easily imagine an elementalist main-hand a sword or an engineer use a 2h hammer. That’d be fitting, imo, and less requiring. There are 30+ skins for each existing weapon, adding new ones would require either spending loads of time or narrow the choices down.
@LordByron
If you are refering to the thread regarding Ascended items when they were first released, it’s 34.000 posts not 34.000 players. I alone contributed to 6-7 of them. As a GW1 player, I didn’t like their introduction but I now understand that it was a compromise they add to do and that their implementation is one of the best one could come up if they wanted to please 2 opposite kind of players.
@Harbard
Yes yes I am guilty of that, I only read OP.
This thread didn’t help me in understanding why some people have the view of GW2 they have. If anything, it showed me how Arenanet mainted all of the promises beside the dyes one.
It’s a good day to be a GW1 veteran. I just log in and get free things because Arenanet loves me and despises anyone who didn’t play GW1. Life’s good.
OP has a point but should rename the thread to “I like dungeons, please add more dungeons”.
The aetherblade’s story is over? We haven’t seen who Scarlet is and arrested Mai Trin threatens the arrive of more of her allies. There’s a 99% chance that they will be back in one of the LS updates and that’s probably when they will release the weapons.
Oh for god’s sake you are killcannon.2576 don’t try to imply I’m not impartial plz

If you are referring to the song, that certainly was a weird moment for me. Is that a reference to something?
Strange! I see instead that there are a lot of people that DON’T enjoy the jumping content, not the other way around.
Strange! I only see what I want to see!
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
That wall of text critted me after 2 lines so I’m refusing to read further. Please put a little more effort into writing readable posts
Actually that trick has worked a bunch of times on me now that I think of it! Newcomers are my favourite meal, but I recall some kicking back insanely well and then discovering they were r40
Now if only armor skins meant anything anymore… with the free handouts done with the ticket merchant and now achievement chests there’s no “status symbol” skins anymore. Not that I care, I wouldn’t have gotten them anyways, just sharing this minor complaint.
I think I’m done here!
heavy, long sigh
PvP items ARE skins. All of your stats are condensed into an amulet when doing PvP, and this is why the PvP items you got have no stats on them. So if you like the appearence of one, just go into the heart of the mists and wear it. No need to transmute anything. Don’t worry about runes or sigils as those can be acquired for free from some NPCs.
Every PvP-related item has a special slot in the PvP locker we talked about. This includes the salvage kits and the special crafting materials you obtain through using it. In fact you probably found very basic ( and ugly ) PvP weapons such as “PvP Rifle” or “PvP Longbow” whose sole purpose is to be salvaged into materials. These crafting materials are then used to craft PvP items of your choice into the PvP mystic forge.
Now my personal suggestion would be to wear the items you like and just deposit the rest, as bothering with the crafting system is not worth it if you don’t PvP. Gorgeous PvP galore!
Also, I’m not being kind, I’m doing this out of interest for my poor eyes: please stop wearing that pathetic ugly starter armor in Sanctum Sprint & Keg Brawl.

Time for Golem Wars 2 I guess
In this thread “Lynspottery but way angrier”
