“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
Also I don’t s/t-pvp, but from what I’ve read they don’t exist in the higher tiers.
Nah they exist and are in a good spot I’d say. The recent EU qualifiers had plenty of them.
I don’t know where you have heard it , most of the people on the forums don’t seem to enjoy it too much
Anyways, since I see you aren’t considering WvW/PvP, your options aren’t really that much. GW2’s PvE is not really that competitive, and most of the rare stuff is rare only because they are hidden behind a tiny drop chance. Good luck with your fractals!
P.s. have you tried Jumping Puzzles? Do you know about the Super Adventure Box?
Small suggestion: Cloak and Dagger is relatively telegraphed and costs quite a lot of energy. Dodging it will mess up the thief combo as they now have to blow a CD to get in stealth or try to cast it again further draining their energy.
PvP leaderboards!
What about for the more pve inclined? :L
Fractals. Higher levels and whatnot.
The kitten boosting is not as strong as in other games, but having fractal weapons (special skins dropped in high level fractals) or Arah gear testifies that you are able to play mildly hard to quite hard content. I’m sorry to say, but I believe that’s it for PvE. Oh, and legendaries are no proof of skill, only time spent. I know personally a bunch of terrible players that own one or more.
Did you consider WvW? Aiming to be a great commander is one of the things one could go for if he was looking to enlarge his e-kitten. Dem commanders get all the ladies

PvP leaderboards!
It’s per path. Would make no sense otherwise.
LOL Navi, I think I’m gonna quote you often
Tyria has a moon?
To expand on my cryptic first post ( I’m sorry for that, I was in a hurry ), I meant to say that while yes, CoF p1 will still probably be one of the most farmed dungeons, the changes are meant to put a stop to running that specific path 20 times.
Other people looking to farm gold for more than 15 minutes will probably change dungeon/path.
How can you be this short-sighted?
In PvP it’s still rather trivial compared to the aforementioned, but the complexity lies in building your character for the appropriate party/situation.
Define trivial.
Have you seen Team Paradigm vs Car Crash about 3 days ago?
It’s not instant and, if you are not alone, you can DPS the engi for 4-5 seconds to counter the ressing. Poison works wonders too, as does knocking him out of the AoE, either downed or not. Also considering waiting the spell out if you have enough HP.
Because DEAR GOD, the two shouldn’t be mixed together…EVER! (See WvW)
But I love my heavy whatever (the first one released) armor! One of the best sets for heavy armor. Just as I like Braham’s armor (newly released heavy one).
Tbh I wouldn’t classify the gladiatorial arena and queen’s gauntlet as minigames, from what we know right now. You seem to retain your skills, and will probably be able to go in a party of 5 in at least one of them.
What? I thought they were throwing items at us to force us to buy bank slots! Now I’m all confuzzled, are the devs greedy and evil or not?
Oh, I thought it was memorizing all the skills from every profession till they released new professions and new skills.
Skill treadmill, lol.
I wonder what was the endgame in GW1 xD
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
LOL against LA dummies, that has to be the saddest suggestion ever.
I loled way harder at you censoring your own character. You’re gonna die often anyways, what’s the point? You scared of evil SFR hitmen?

This thread…
Nothing against you op, but the people screaming you should troll them and its completely awful and they are equivalent to bots for running a karma train should just leave the forum, go to Sparkfly Fen in the most unpopulated server and solo everything. If you can’t deal with people doing quests together just leave.
I’d be up for that. If only we had Vanquishing
Forgive the off topic, but it’s heartwarming to see The Baws already giving suggestions around <3
I’ve made bunch of threads suggesting stuff that would improve this game.
Except those “improvements” (like 10 additional trait points) were shot down by people that wouldn’t have liked them. So where you see “improvement”, others see the game getting worse. And while it’s easy for you to invalidate others opinions by telling them “kitten you casuals”, it’s not as easy for reasonable people.
I remember a guy suggesting that dyes should’ve given you a resistance to particular kinds of damage, and I’m sure he believes his suggestion would’ve improved the game. See where I’m going? Because I’m not, it’s late in here.

Remember the promise Wemil. REMEMBER IT
Dresden you have no clue how downed state works, it is apparent. I don’t know why I am risking an infraction telling you the truth, but it is. Elementalist downed state is one of strongest downed states there is in the game. I’d like you to list the 90% of the situations in which Vapor Form is useless, since I can’t even think of one.
Situations that Vapor Form prevents:
- Being stomped in any way? Check
- Taking huge DPS (Hundred Blades, Lava Font, Blurred Frenzy, a Boss’ AoE?)? Check
- Traveling a sizeable distance towards allies, a keep or water? Check
No need to be so defensive about this, or imply that the Devs are stupid and make unwarranted balance changes based on “ELES ARE OP WAGON” posters. As hard as it may be to accept for you, they are professionals that balance games (amongst other things) for a job, it’s not unreasonable that they may know better than us
Not to mention that when the game launched Vapor Form was actually the third downed skill, and Elementalist had the worst downed state in the game.
Anyways, I’m done derailing the thread. It had run its course after Melchior’s awesome post.
Edit: A mod or the poster themselves swooped in and deleted the posts. I now look even stupider, talking to myself.

Please no abyss + celestial or the likes… just… no
(will add my horrible non mix n match Guardian later)
Your post is so funny it makes mine look even more grumpy and over-serious ( is that even a word )
Haha, it’s cool, since yours is the one that actually has relevant advice. Out of curiosity, I haven’t SPvPed in ages. Can I just drop straight into spectator mode and watch others play, or do I have to join a match and die like a chump (F4) first?
I have this strange feeling the relevant advice is kinda lost in this thread lol! But yes, you can join a PvP match at which point it will ask you either to join a team or spectate. You can also join spectator mode while fighting (press B, then the eye icon) if I’m not mistaken.
@Dresden. :eyeroll: that is all
Scary thing, makes me glad I can guest to underpopulated servers to know how boring (for my playstyle) a sizeable chunk of the playerbase can get.
Your post is so funny it makes mine look even more grumpy and over-serious ( is that even a word )
This whole idea is so awesome I think a team would have to take an year just to do it justice.
When you get trashed in SPvP, just go in spectator mode and watch the players that owned you. This way you can identify what skills they are using and how they work, avoiding embarassing yourself with posts that claim that something you know nothing about is OP.
No SAB? What?
All of these pale in comparison to the glory that is SAB.
I see I’m not the only SABnatic around here. Good.
Nah not really, while autoattack and 3rd skill definitely suck, second skill (the most important in SPvP) allows for good repositioning and guarantees you a stomp-interruption (contrary to every single other 2nd skill, it works against stealth-stomps, stability stomps, teleport-stomps, blind-stomps, invulnerability stomp and every other stomp known to tyriankind). Being stomps one of the core mechanics of SPvP, being able to counter all of them makes one of the strongest downed states…. Not to mention it allows you to enter keeps/towers after being downed outside them, a huge advantage. There are some really strong 3rd skills such as Warriors and Rangers but they don’t matter too much as those classes have a weak 2nd skill and rarely get to use their third.
Now now, I have no idea what the OP is talking about when he says about autoressing elementalists, but when he talks about engineers and rangers he probably refers to thrown Elixir R and the elite spirit. Both have their counters and huge cooldowns to offset them, so I don’t see the problem really O.o
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
Ele downed state is weak in WvW/SPvP, now I’ve heard them all!
I love the whiteknights. Keep em coming.
So it’s still not at 1 million. What a surprise!
Whiteknight sounds way better than hater. Your pick.
I don’t know, I think the gold/gems amount is good enough, and it would make sense for the missing parts of Radiant/Hellfire armor to come out in the coming months.
I took my like off because the facebook page moderators will delete ANY negative comment, even if it is valid and well represented.
this is pathetic but Microsoft did the same after E3 X1’s ****storm by deleting everything negative on their official youtube page but there was so much negativity from everyone that they just blocked all comments lmao. Mods deleting negative comments (this was on this forum as well but i noticed it got better, you can at least be negative/give reason why you dislike something and not be 100% moderated and message deleted) just shows how many people were disappointed with gw2 and how much it failed to deliver.
By this logic, every single MMORPG is disappointing and fails to deliver. All of them, including WoW, Rift, Lotro, because every single MMORPG’s game forums are predominantly negative.
So what you’re really saying is all MMOs suck. Because I’ve not found a single MMORPG with official forums that are predominantly positive.
oh this guy again and his logic, have a nice day
Well, you make negative statements because you personally don’t like the game, many of which don’t stand up to scrutiny.
Saying people are complaining so the game is bad would apply to every MMO out there. This isn’t theory, it’s fact. If you can’t deal with the facts, that’s fine too. At least we’re forewarned.
i state the negativity because i want this game to be better, it deserves to be better. You completely ignore all negativity and live in your dreamworld where GW2 is the absolute perfection. That’s the difference. You close your eyes and don’t want to see the reality, until you open them don’t bother quoting me i won’t bother responding because its like talking to a pure fanboy and im not here for that.
Will you yell at your children 24/7 that they are worthless pieces of kitten that will never accomplish anything good in their lives? Because that’s what you do in here most of the time, and it sure as hell isn’t making the game any better, or the devs more willing to listen to your concerns.
Why is this thread still going on?
It saddens me that you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting RG field medics
Those 40 guys would literally run you over after you held the supply camp long enough for them to arrive and save it. After the enemies were dispatched and even if there was no immediate distress call, you were left there because they couldn’t stop 2 seconds while on your corpse. “The waypoint is near” anyways. Aaah… good times.
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
I love it, one of my favourite minigames, but the scoring system could use some an overhaul ( why is that Arenanet always screws scoring systems? ) and the majority of the time the last survivors don’t decide the last one standing duking it out but starving and dying to ghosts.
It’s okay, Warriors stack might fury and swiftness like bosses, Thieves don’t.
By the way, they only release stupid content in which you don’t get to use your character skills ( your own words, mind you ) so why would people even care about more traits if they can’t even use them inside our wonderful minigames?
I’ll touch on PvP because nobody addressed this part.
There’s two separate PvP modes in this game: WvW (World vs World) and SPVP ( structured PvP ).
The first one pits servers against each other in a week-long battle to conquer towers and castles. When joined from the WvW tab, your character will be scaled to level 80, but you’ll retain your traits, skills and gear. Upleveled characters aren’t too easy to kill, but they are nowhere near the strenght of a fully equipped/traits level 80. My personal suggestion would be to reach level 30-40 before trying out WvW, and sticking to a zerg untill you get confident about your build and class.
The second one fully grants you max stat gear, level and traits because we like our pvp to be a skill-based even ground, where the good player excels for his ability to play and not his +200 points to awesomeness. As you may have noticed, armors and weapons don’t have stats in PvP: that’s because all of your stats are condensed into your amulet. You can buy different amulets with different combinations of stats for free. There’s two main modes to play there: hotjoins and tournaments. Hotjoins are more casual friendly, feature autobalance and aren’t to be taken too seriously, as most are 8 vs 8 when the maps are balanced around 5 vs 5. Tournaments are ranked, feature a leaderboard and are to be taken more seriously.
That is all for now, if you have any other question please be specific about it.
Why would you do that?
Come to Seafarer’s Rest, we have Kid Inkk

@GSSBlunaspike:
Well, basically we are saying the same thing. Races aren’t supposed to influence your profession choice, but they may do.
Not before new playable races and new maps. For sure not in 2013, most likely not even 2014. While they haven’t ruled out the possibility of new classes, they said they’d rather expand on the current ones (new skills, weapons, traits) as they feel they’ve covered most of the archetypes.
Your posts is kinda weird, did you edit it and forgot certain parts?
Yes, we definitely need bosses (and even trash mobs) to be more interesting, especially the ones spawned in the open world. Most of them are loot pinatas. Then again, when bosses aren’t loot pinatas ( see Karka queen ) nobody bothers killing them because a good chunk of the playerbase is happy with the mindless 1-spamming.
I especially feel your pain regarding veterans and normal mobs. 99% of them have at best 2 abilities and often those don’t even matter. Huge difference from GW1 when the kind of enemy you fought could change your entire strategy. Then again, GW1 had no open world…
Good thing they’ve announced in the recent blog post that they are gonna work on the first issue, at least.
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
Cleverly disguised complain thread is not so cleverly disguised.
It can be an enjoyable game even solo, so my personal suggestion would be to go for it. Especially if you are interested in lore, or in understanding why there are all those players in the “cantha” thread :P Keep in mind it’s vastly different from GW2 though.
I see no glaring issue with their bug fixes (lol?), botting fixes and DR. In fact, I’ve been playing since launch and I’ve never hit the DR. But even if they had glaring issues, what’s your proposition then? Arenanet didn’t properly fix botting so they shouldn’t change anything ever because they are unable to do so?
Since we’re talking about reading comprehension, here’s your quote:
“Either leave it alone or remove it completely. These half measures…(snip)”
What half measures? Please elaborate
Actually you know what, who the hell cares. I just wanted to asnwer OP.
