I noticed the following things about the tracks:
People who only play PvP kinda hate the tracks. These people don’t want items they have no idea with what they should do with it( Like crafting materials) And on top of that you get part of a crafted item in PvP but still have to PvE to get the full item.
Most people don’t even want to open the boxes just because they fill your inventory with more boxes and random items. while like 90% of the items you get aren’t worth anything.
Other thing i noticed when i was playing on a second account. It is currently rank 40 pvp and when i go to wardrobe i have like 3-4 skins for each armor piece. I think i had like 10-15 for each armor piece on my main at rank 40 spvp with the old system. In other words you hardly get skins.
Last thing:
Its not rewarding enough so new people don’t start pvping for rewards, Queues became long because less people playing, more unfair matchmaking and so onThe only use full thing that comes from pvping is the transmutation charges. but that is it :<

The rewards are nice. But, it would be so much more helpful if things stacked a bit more. LIke the weapon/amor boxes. Also, if you make another reward track…. consolidate the “enemy boxes” so there are only a few. You don’t need 8+ per reward track. Make it <4. Again… just for inventory issues.
This is a cool idea. I will pitch it to the team. What other things would you see going on this track? They all have a theme leading up to the end goal.
Well, it would be nice to have a reward track that does not have skins/gear as a reward. I’m fairly happy how my mains look, and have no need for exotic gear. It all gets toilet-ed/salvaged anyways.
The reward track could be a general PvP track. 18/20 slot bags, +X transmutation charges as final reward, arena time tokens, a black lion ticket scraps/keys (why can’t PvP players farm it like PvE can?), reward box where you can choose your own booster.
Just typing random thoughts ….. theme could be Black Lion reward track.

The one thing that I liked about the tournaments (especially season 1) was there were queues for the majority of the week. At the very least there were always commanders. Always action going on.
Now, on T1, I see outnumbered on half the maps before the weekend is even over. It feels like a normal WvW week.

This map is terrible. Please remove it. If you won’t please allow players to ban maps they don’t wanna play on in solo que.

This map is a failure from a design standpoint because the actual customers do not like the product. Many won’t think we’re losing content from PvP. It’ll be a major quality of life change.
Please remove it from soloQ.

The game definitly needs them yesterday and i hope to read more about it soon.

They did this in WoW way back when. Made enemy-created things red tinted in PvP.
That was a good update.
I rarely get knocked off. I know how to position. I still hate this map.
I hate it because I have to outplay my opponents because they have much more 1-shot potential than I do. If I make a mistake. I die. If they do, doesn’t matter because they build tanky. I also hate it when playing my engineer (simple condi spec) because it’s brainless to pull someone off with magnet.
But the one thing I like about Skyhammer when it’s a 4v5, or my team gives up so I can afk in spawn without feeling bad.

So many 4v5s.
I know I use my 2 dish. stacks every 72 hours on this. But when I’m forced to play it rarely ends in a 5v5. Either it’s a 4v5 or the other team just quits.

I find it funny how PvP players spend 1000s of hours honing there skills to compete in tournaments… and if they place at least 2nd… they’ll get a precursor. You have to be the best players in NA to get a precursor for PvP.
And some guy on the PvP forums got a precursor from doing a hotjoin.
RNG in this game is great.
On an unrelated note… the new players to PvP in my guild absolutely despise Skyhammer. From my past experiences from casual PvX guilds…. they won’t continue to PvP
If Anet’s plan is to make the game very friendly and accessible to anyone…. for the love of of god why is Skyhammer a PvP map? It’s so rage inducing.

I have guildees that have queued up for 20+ soloQs and don’t know what hotjoins are.
I also have guildees that have hotjoined for a long time, hate it, and don’t know about soloQ. They were ecstatic when I told them about it.
This was all in the past week too…
Does this also cause teleports, like Judge’s Intervention, to teleport to the enemy, then instantly back to your previous location? It’s been happening more and more recently…
A thought occurred.
Turret engineers are about as useful in soloQs as bunker guardians are in teamQ. The opposite of that statement is almost laughable =L
Even if people like this map, I think they’d get frustrated at the abundance of 4v5s and teams that just quit mid-match. It happens 10x more than any other map.
Another thought occurred to me recently as well.
A lot of this feature patch is aimed towards making the game more user-friendly for new players. IE removing downed state til lvl 5, and giving them a clear sense of direction in leveling.
I’ve seen quite a new players from my past guilds join PvP. I’ve also watched the forums the last several years. PvP is EXTREMELY hard to get into for a new player. So many mechanics with all the classes and conquest that you must understand. It must be kittening jarring for a new player to play Skyhammer against a decap spec when they’re trying to learn the game. A lot of new players soloQ too. I can only imagine their frustrations…
I’m trying not to be biased with my personal opinions of Skyhammer, but I’m willing to bet this single map has made a few players just quit sPvP all together or even the game.

I’m coping by playing a spec I’m unfamiliar with whenever I get Skyhammer in soloQ.
Instead of raging on my mains, I’ll try and be productive to be a better overall gamer.

I thought people left that crap in hotjoins.
I don’t really play with people in voice coms.
The #1 thing I want as far as easier team communication is mesmer portals that show up on the map.

To be fair, we could still see things that apply to both PvE/PvP. Like the save-build feature. But…. that’s all that I can think of atm….
In the case of malicious attacks causing disconnects, we should ideally be able to forgive dishonor. We currently do not support this, but it is something we’ll look into adding for the future.

Probably. At best they’ll do is telling you to contact support in case of a DDOS.
It seems unlikely to me that any game would change there dishonorable system just for when they get DDOSed. Seems like a lot of resources for something that only happens very rarely.
Why must we elongate everything in gw2. If the balances previews for the classes are up and youve made short clips, why not show them in bigger groups instead of just showing 2. Also ToG ends in October? So we are going to have a ToL2 Repeat yet again? Why must these tournies take so long.
Allow me to clarify. The video for the last two professions is not done. Unless you want to watch Karl in front of a plain green screen, there’s no way we can show it tomorrow. These videos each take ~3 hours to film and another 8+ hours to edit. On some weeks, the video wasn’t even exported until the same morning we showed it on the stream.
We opted to do two at a time so as not to overload both you and Karl in the preview. If you look back to when we did previews live, one of those episodes was almost 2 hours long, and by the end they were trying to speed through in order to keep it from going longer. Both you and we didn’t think it was fair to the people who play those professions that were rushed through, nor was it fair to have to sit through two hours of a stream to see your profession’s changes. We feel that this format provided a better means of communicating these changes. We can now devote the appropriate amount of time to each profession and showcase the changes without having to wait for Karl to change builds and move between locations on the map.
11 hours. That’s insane for a 5 minute clip.
Don’t get me wrong, I do like the Skill Bar segments. But most of the abilities that are changed don’t require to be shown on camera. I’d be perfectly content with a detailed text write (explaining why you made the changes) up on the Profession Balance forums, instead of having a 3rd party source make one for us.
I think it may be better too to have discussions about all profession changes at the same time, rather than having 3x-ish(?) amount the time to talk about engineers/rangers than we will get about guardians/necromancers.

You know that hero statue that has Pax winners + shoutcasters tucked away in the corner?
Take that concept, make it a message board. Put it right in the middle of the main area of the map. Have upcoming tournaments posted. Have winners of the past weekly 2v2/3v3/5v5 esl, mistpedia, community tournaments and whatever on there.
It wouldn’t be hard. Minimal time to update the board. Only question is if it requires client patching to update it.

I feel like a troll when I hope on my condition engineer who only has toolkit. I can stealth + pull people off. People that I probably can’t 1v1 because I’m a horrible player (seriously).
I’ve actually pulled off top NA players. It’s ridiculous.
There is no skill. Only people that think that they’re skilled when they hop to there decap builds.
If your argument is “Learn to position / stability” ….. I counter with " 1 mistake should not be instant death". It’s not fun.

Holy kitten I got a thread…. solid. I do just fine with no armor, not wearing armor barley does anything to hinder my spec. I play killshot warr if I get attacked I die pretty quick, the goal for me is to not get attacked.
Also… my Norn is too sexy for armor it hides his manlyness and that is unacceptable.

To start with I’ve only put in streamers that play. I haven’t put in shoutcasters. I haven’t seen Jebro play, and I don’t know his twitch. If someone would like to correct me I’d be happy to put him on
Jebro has streamed gameplay. But it hasn’t been for a few months.
If you’re pro, you will alt+F4 skyhammer and keep track of your dishonorable stacks so you won’t get the debuff.
But this won’t work for a full 3 days if you soloQ a lot =c
Will the streaming of these tournaments in the future use the standard models when we see the big official ones on twitch?
At this time spectators will not see standard models. This includes shoutcasters.
While there are some arguments to have this available in all PvP formats we want to see how this new feature is used by the high-end, skilled players at the top tier of PvP before considering rolling this out to the more broad PvP user base.
Implying that all of team-queue is populated by high-end skill players… I just got out of a team queue (solo-d into it to avoid skyhammer), where my 4 teammates fought on home all game and couldn’t kill a turret engineer. All while the enemy team’s guardian bunker sat on there home all game. The skill.
If it’s feedback from top-end players… I’d limit this to custom arenas at first. Observe it in action during the weekly tournaments. Otherwise open it up to all of soloQ and teamQ. You’ll get a much larger feedback.

I think Guildmag ( i think that’s the name ) has a scheduled interview as well with an Anet employee. They had a reddit thread asking for questions. Skyhammer was up there.
We should get an answer within a week.
But I have a feeling we’ll get the Colin-esque stare (from when he was asked about Cantha) from an Anet employee.

I think we’ll see it on Tuesday, assuming the entirety of Dry Top is released. And for good reasons.
Every other reward track has loot boxes from enemies all throughout the region/dungeon. It only makes sense to me that we’ll see a Dry Top reward track after all of the enemies/mobs are introduced to the zone. It wouldn’t make sense if we got a Dry Top reward track on episode 1 that had a Legendary Sand Giant box.
Plus introducing the respective reward track a few months later than PvE makes sense too. Let’s say the final reward is a chest of your choice of head gear. You wouldn’t want the player population to run PvP to get a guaranteed chance at the skins. Now the skins cost less than a gold, rather than 10+ gold.
Sky Hammer taken out of Solo Queue.
I didn’t queue for a week and half. Just chilled, watched some streams. Collected my thoughts.
Re queued for soloQ. Get Skyhammer 3/5 times. Face nothing but skyham spec engis. The map isn’t fun. The builds it promotes isn’t fun to fight against, even if they dont’ knock you off.
This map is a HOTJOIN MAP. People don’t switch to there skyhammer character in hotjoins because you can’t rejoin your server instantly.
