The new HP bar when allies are downed is now dark green. This is a step backward. It’s much less noticable and rather a bar for necro death shroud.

So they now have the technology to give everything that phantasm look! I mean they had all the weapons already, but until now the back items were ugly and “plastic” like. Now they look exactly the same as everything else of the phantasm!
So, two questions come in my mind:

I like the changes, it’s just fair. We can’t always cry out for buffs when we won’t allow some fairness too. It was op. But they need to tweak it a bit.
To bring build diversity and satisfaction to both, pve and pvp players, it shouldn’t be a trait at all, it should be a class mechanic with a toggle to put on or off. It’s a no go in pve and a must have in pvp. But it won’t happen.
Imagine mimic to be a debuff on an enemy that copys ALL boons for the next 20 seconds (+ still all on cast).

instead of rocket turret take elixier gun for utility and dps or the mine for dps and boonstrip. They both deal more damage than the rocket toolbelt on a lower CD. One stacks tons of vuln, the other is unblockable.

Oh now I get it!
At least ONE part of it. It’s true that the instant cast skills deal half damage, but the reason why they didn’t on pupets is, because my char® automaticly stats firing with his rifle – means he’s doing somthing with cast time. If I equip a shield only, or simply disable the chain auto atack feature for the rifle, he won’t be able to attack and therefore does the weaker version of SD. So it seems a bit cross-bugged with the auto attack.
But now the question is, when will the normally strong static discharges become weak ones. MORE TESTINGS REQUIRED!

I think I got it now. There are 2 rules:
- SD will deal high damage while using toolbelt skills with a cast time, SD will deal reduced damage while using toolbelt skills without a cast time, aka instant skills (also no legendary animation).
- While performing an auto attack, during the cast time, rule one is reversed. So instant skills = high damage and cast time skills = reduced damage.

Weapon damage doesn’t affect kit damage. That’s why ANet buffed the kit dmg by 5% if you are wearing an ascended or legendary weapon. What the connection is to static discharge? Well there is a hidden weapon damage while using a kit, wich is exotic like. I beleve it is that way because (now it comes
) static discharge deals less damage while using a kit than while using an ascended+ weapon. So if you want stronger discharges, stay on rifle lol!

Mesmer loses every 1v1 against a same skilled enemy, yet they are still taken because of the portal so you can fight 1.5v1 and 4.5v5. For solo play you can go condi, wich is surprisingly strong in 1v1, yet competitive just too slow and immobile.
@ Everyone who says “Legis are only supposed to be skins”. Show me the exact quote from ANet that says that. It’s just a personal opinion. If they would be just skins, they would have created them as skins, like all the lion weapons. No – legendary weapons are more than just skins and they are supposed to be better than asceneded gear, yet not stronger!
You can swap stats more than once, if this wouldn’t be important a skin would have done it. So beeing able to swap sigils too would be totally fine. The difference between the cheapest legendary and the most expensive ascended weapon is still so big that you would be able to swap those signet multiple times! It’s a change a legendary weapon is worth!
All I read here is “I don’t own a legy so I’m against it! It’s not fair others payed 20 times more for their weapon and have now a small, in combat totally useless, adventage over my gear!” Please … get realistic.
Yea but then you will see all your items at the merchant. It’s a solution for now, but it should be combined with the hidden bags.
Great idea – I totally support this. You should have a sigil wardrobe though. Every sigil you put in there gets destroyed, yet infinite time aviable for legendary weapons.
By the same reasons you said – this is required to make use of the legy. Unfair compared to ascended? Please, this argument is pathetic. Legendaries shouldn’t be stronger in combat, yet they should increase the quality of life!

The funniest kill I’ve ever had was on skyhammer. After a fight I went to the sky hammer to get rid of the current user. When I was up there the guard knocked my down, went to a breaking platform, GS 5ed me on the way, tried to pull me, yet I got struck somehow and wasn’t pulled properly (ty bugwars), the glass is almost breaking so the guard jumpt to me with GS 3. The funny thing now is that my rune of nightmare just got off it’s CD and feared him back into the now broken platform, and hie fell .. fell … still falling … and died
I was just there like, chain cced, and he was performing with high APM and … well … killed himself
Hi everyone, short introduction so lets get straigt to the point: Three Things, that are long overdue to date. I’ve been waiting for those things to be implemented all the time, since it looks so obviously important to the game.
ANet, please finally implement the following things:
Trait Templates
As a Mesmer, in order to play efficient, I have to retrait myself serval times while playing the game. Sometimes it would be even better if I would do so in the same dungeon, but it simply takes too much time. Sometimes 64040, 66002, 46040 and so on! Playing other classes, I’ve been suffering from that expirience aswell.
Guild Wars 2 requires the introduction of Trait Templates! You can have like 10 different slots at the traits menue, where you can save your current traits for a fast swap between traits in PvE or even in WvW! I’m extremly surprised this hasn’t been implemented back when they introduced the retraiting without a profession teacher. This really has to happen soon ANet.
Reserved Item Slots
This one is rather annoying than very important. We all have out weapons, armors and trinkets in our inventory. We are forced to keep them at the top of our Inventory, so they are on the top at the hero panel aswell, also we need them to be top in the inventory anyway for “fast” swaps. Now – I think we’ve all been suffering from equipping 4x 1h weapons and then swapping them for 2x 2h weapons. Later when we want to swap them back, some stupid junk drop items are in the place where our current 1h weapons should go back to. The players inventory gets mixed up and this just doesn’t feel right. There should be an option to lock and reserve every single Item slot for our real equip. This could work in two steps:
Step one: Right click on an item -> mark as main equip. Step two: Right click on a empty inventory slot (only has to be done once) -> reserve for main equip. No new gear that can be looted is allowed to get into that slot, so we can keep our order in our inventories.
Bound Items
This one is a similiar issue like the first one. Requipping. For example a guardian has his berserk equip and his soldier equip. You should be able to click on the head gear alone to swap ALL THE ARMORS with the current ones! You should be able to click on one ring to swap ALL THE TRINKETS with the current ones! It’s just annoying to press on every single armor piece and what’s even more annoying is: there is no “equip ring / accessoir in 2nd slot” button. You always have to drag n’ drop trinket in your inventory or miserably swap them one by one at the hero panel. Again the solution is simple:
Step one: Click on the gear symbol on the right top -> bind items. Step two: click on every item you want to bind with each other (like you would salvage them) -> click again on an item to unbind it again. Step three: click anywhere again to finish the binding. If you doubleclick now on one of those bound items, you will equip all the others too. You cannot bind more than (for example) 2 rings or 1 head gear at the same time. With this change you can swap your whole gear from zerk to tank to condi to heal to someweirdokittenmixmaxwhateveryouwant in no time!
Dear ANet – I really hope you read this post and you’ll find it as important or at least useful as I do.

It’s a good change, even if it’s not in our favor. But it will open new changes for the specs and current class rebalance, like buffing nufflied to prevent boons and conditions to be applied in first place. It’s just the beginning and unless we have everything HoT is gonna bring us, to QQ about such changes is useless and naive.
It will most likely – you won’t be able to blink vertical at, lets say the cliff side fotm. But I like it, cuz it was indeed broken. However they should fix normal blinks then, like Nifelhel the mid point, where you simply can’t blink up for some reason, yet thieves can. And in PvE? Gosh sometimes you can’t even blink on open fields and stop at a random rock …

Yea the current mimic sux, the old one was better but still lackluster. I’d prefer a mimic wich absorbs the first skill hit (ABSORBS!) and blocks everything else for the duration. Echo should be the skill itself, not just one projectile. Also echo melee attacks.

When you play TP, the money you can get is nearly unlimited. It only depends on how much money you have. If you have more to invest, the profit will be higher. I know a TP only junkie who had 40’000 gold back then. He bought himself a stack (yes 250) chaos of lyssa recipe when they were 50g~. Now they are 350g. He kinda turned 12’500g into 87’500g. I just had the money for 3 these days But still – it’s fun
I always play some “TP” in GW2 if I want something, me record was 1000g in a week, so I guess 4000g a month would be possible with some efforts. Boring but possible.

nades? they are terrible until 80. you need traits for them. go rifle + ft, bomb, rocket boots for leveling as fast as possible.
metabattle is a good site for ppl who just hit 80, but it terrible for advanced play.
PvP has it’s own stats, you only have to bring a weapon type there, the stats can be chosen independend. You only have to worry about WvW or PvE. If you like PvE more, focus on Assassin stats, trinkets still berserk.
I love the shield – deal with it.
So what is the DPS again of Lich form auto attack since you know, it got nerfed down to 20 seconds from 30 not long ago, and still with a 180 second cooldown?, also unless you are in a kitten good group to carry you at 50 going necro is not a good option at all, it’s a decent to mediocre option at best “what other professions bring compared to necro”, damage done better, DPS done better, Support done better, reflect done better, boon uptime, condition clears, survivability, vulnerability and so on.
So sure necro can do fractal 50 if you do it in a guild group to have fun, but if you try to join a 50 fractal group, you will get kicked for being a necromancer.
Appreciate the optimism you have but we’re lacking way to much in PvE because of some stupid “e-sports” things Arenanet wants to do, so sorry for not sahring your optimism.

You kinda just repeated what I said. But you overestimate the pve skill cap. You don’t need a group to “carry you at 50” … Fotm requires a war, an ele and a mes/guard. Everything else doesnt really matter. And as I said, Necro isn’t the best for any job. But it’s still engouh for anything in pve.
Hey PvE Necros! I was never really sure if DS or dagger is the way to go in PvE, so I just made some dps tests with the common meta builds for dagger and deathshroud against puppets over 60 sec. It’s nothing special, just sharing it that you guys don’t have to do it too
DpS:
1. Lich Form AA: 2072
2. Dagger: 1501
3. Death Shroud <600: 1066
4. Death Shroud >600: 762
So if you like to play a Necro in PvE dungeons or fotm, wich really isn’t that bad as ppl call it, you still bring ok damage and some utility. There are better choices we know that, but a well played necro can still be useful and won’t turn your lv50 fotm into a nightmare.
But you should only use the dagger as a weapon and shouldn’t focus on DS builds. If you need ranged, axe or Lich Form is the way to go. Lich form is also 38% stronger than dagger, so it’s a dps increase during boss fights or for spike.

Condition stacking was semi correct explained. There are 2 condition stackings:
Effectivity and duration:
Bleeding, Vulnerability, Confusion and Torment stack in effectivity. This means you can stack this condition 25 times. If you apply anything at 25 stacks, the oldest stack gets removed, regardless of duration and condi damage of the old or new stack. This may cause a 20 sec bleed to be overwritten by a 5 sec bleed.
Blind, Burning, Chilled, Crippled, Fear, Immobilized, Poison and Weakness stack in duration. Yet those are also limited in stacks too. After X stacks, no new stacks will be applied until the first one has run out. It’s like a queue -> I apply burning, you apply burning, your dmagae waits until mine has run out.
X stacks is individual for each of those conditions:
They are fun to play, hard to play, very hard to master, yet relativly weak compared to other classes. It’s not the best class to start with for a newb, you can screw up much or simply be not useful for your team. But we all have faith that the mesmer gets buffed in the expansion in a few months.
But if you really like Mes, then start with it. Mes is terribly weak and a pain to level without traits. But don’t worry, once you reached lv60, everything’s fine!
speaking of nerf, was illusion skills ever require 3/4-1 sec cast time?
has the mesmer’s clone have more health in the the beginning?
has the phantasm skill do more damage in the beginning?
because i ran phantasm build and i found that phantasm do sub par damage and took too long to cast while other class have near to instance activation time
Never played beta, but in some preview vids the were summoned faster, nearly instant. But also 2 at once, so I think it’s just for demo. There’s also a demo vid where the GS aa and chaos storm dealt damage ~loel~
Phantasm and clone hp has been increased in a patch long time ago, just for pve. But they (maybe bugged again) ninjanerfed the HP a few patches ago into the ground, now they are terrible weak again …
I guess they increased the utility phants cast time once, but I’m not sure though.
If phantasms would scale with my runes and sigils, if they would become invulnerable with a minor trait when I dodge, when they actually hit their target (watching at you iWL), if they would be summoned fast enough rather than being rdy when the enemy champ or trahmob is already dead, that’s a world I want to live in.
As for rangers and necros: Ranger have kittenty base damge but engouh modifiers to accept that, yet sword AA is underwhelming with it’s mechanic and the cleave breaker in it. And their pets F1-F4(F5 soon) suck atm. Pets respond too slow and if I call my pet back I want it next to me, not 5m away in a lava pool. And Necros just don’t cleave and have no good utility, their current dagger dmg is “ok”.
70 to 80 is easy darlin, use FT + bomb + EG or Mine and do a few dungeons until 80. Then get the actual equip.
Greatsword may be completely different from what we expect. Think about it, no one could have predicted hammer on revenant would be a ranged weapon.

Correct. The strongest aa is the warrior axe wich is ridiculous. Necro dagger is quite high in aa dps, just about 5% lower than engineer bomb autattack (just that … well 2 targets).
I’d like to see a change in hot again where daggers become single target again but increased damage. Daggers should outdamage every cleaving weapon. The GS and the dagger will fulfill different roles, so I think one is for cleave and the other for rather single target (since dual target damage is just lackluster).
Btw bottom of dps as necro? Sry that spot is reserved for the mesmer :P And single target necro has even better dps than guards.

I’m not actually sure how useless it is, it is very similar to the elementalist arcane skill, the only real problem I see with it is the ridiculous summon time. Otherwise it is 3.2k (base) damage with 2 blast finishers on a 20s CD.
They could make it scale with your precision/ferocity in PvE though, that would be fair and wouldn’t introduce PvP issues. Or just increase its base damage and lower the summon time, which they should do anyway.
Arcane Skills can crit and are either a heal skill or instant. They are great for everything. Every skill that is damage based in pve that can’t crit is total garbage. It bugs me because if it would be able to crit like I do, it would be a very good yet not just easy to use skill (blind proc in our fields). But it’s just worthless now.

So I was recently starting to play my necro in pve jff. I realized that the bone minions look pretty good with putrid explosion. The skill causes your bone fiends to explode and deal damage + blast finisher. The amount of damage dealt looks great but then it hit me:
It never ever crits. Why is this skill unable to crit? Even minions are able to crit, so it makes totally no sense at all. Unless I have ultra bad luck with 70 crit chance to not be able to crit.
Anyone has noticed this? It’s extremly annoying cuz it makes an awesome skill useless… Please notice this ANet

Mesmer only exists in pve for reflection. Reflected damage is not based on your power, yet on your crit change and crit dmg. So kitten > zerk.
