Actually, if you target utmost efficiency, you will need grenades. The bomb kit out damages the grenade kit.
I guess you wanted to say “you will not need greandes” right? ^^
Well you are right, for yourself the bomb kit will outdamage the grenade kit slightly. But still keep in mind that only bomb 1 outdamages grenade 1. Grenade 2 and 4 and especially the toolbelt out damages all the bomb 1. But that’s just for your visual appearence, the numbers YOU see.
If you would see how much damage the others will deal more, because of the additional vulnerability stacks the grenade kit grants, you will see, the grenade kit outdamages the bomb kit by dealing passive damage.
I have to add that I allways swap to grenade kit for 2 and 4 (or 3), but I stop using grenade 1 when enemies are about to die. For trashmobs I totally miss out grenade 1, yet still swap for 2 and 4 (or 3). Vulnerability that has been applied at the end is worthless. So the bomb kit gets stronger in the end of a fight.

Greetings everyone! I’ve made some test with the Napalm field and the Fire Bomb field. I now know why it is sometimes working and sometimes not! It’s obvious and easy!
The Napalm field isn’t just small in wide, it’s also small in height!

Don’t DROP the kit via the same key as the key is → use the WEAPON SWAP key! There is a difference!!

Which brings me to my next question, rifle or pistol pistol?
rifle for parties where max might stacks are secured and no reflection and interrupts are required. just damage.
pistol + SHIELD for more support, reflection, stun, might and blind. sacrificing a bit self dps for party dps and protection.

Well I honestly have to say that the engineer is better than the thief in everything but single target dps and stealth:
The engineer is much harder to play (to master) than the thief. You have to almost play piano on your keys sometimes xD I know what I’m talking about since I also play a thief more than just up to lv80.

Just delete the hobo sack! I think I would pay 2000 gems for a “hobo sack disabler” or whatever you want to call it. Just remove that kitten from the game!

The problem is, the recent patch just made it WORSE((
EVERYONE should disable autotarget. You can play much better without it, most of the time because of cleaving between enemies you normally couldn’t.
You just have to turn your camera in an horizontal position. It’s really not that hard … :P

It depends on what game mode you play! If you want to play PvE, Engineers are great! If you want to play WvW, Engineers are great! If you want to PvP, Engineers are great!

Playable, hardest to master imo, yet very rewarding. They are allrounders and can do almost everything for a dungeon, mainly the most important things. They only lack of stability that’s all. Their dps it top tier.
The new sound is kittening amazing! :O mop is also great cuz of the 5 targets > 3 targets of the sword. It became such a great skill!

Btw the reflect build is to summon 3 as fast as you can and keep 3 as much as you can.

What are we talking about here? PvE or PvP or WvW? I bet WvW it’s terrible, and PvP it doesn’t seems viable too. Other kits are just better.
And PvE … well … no. It’s viable, yet still won’t deal near as much dmg as the explosive engi. It’s great for soloing and exploring open world, but that’s it.

Yea, somone told me it’s true. They fixed the cd of the damage bonus, so it’s now 10 sec aswell. Is it intended to work like this? Isn’t it much too weak now? And most of all:

Aren’t the arrows gonna land where you are walking to? Means if you just dance left and right he will automaticly miss?
The ranger weapons depend anyway on situation. Yet aslong as you can go melee you’d stay on sword/warhorn or axe and greatsword. If you need ranged, it depends on aoe or single target wich will be the bow or axe. Piercing arrows may be better than the axe but harder to use.
I guess all traps do – can you also try it at CM p3 after Wahlen?

If you hide and reactivate your back item while using a kit, it’s visible again. Until you swap kits … So in the end it’s hidden all the time unless you want to hide and show your back item all the time while in combat hahahahahah HAAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHUAHDUASHDASDJDJKASLJKDlASJD

I really don’t know why you all want to go 24053. Traiting into illusions is a huge dps loss imo. If you can count on your illusions they wont die and you don’t need the resummoning cdr, if they die all the time, better go for more direct damage via power or precision + mantras. If illulsions die all the time you also can forget about the signet and use a mantra heal instead.
Nowdays I just record the run and pm all the buyers with a * so they can’t escape justice. Also I started to list players for daily buy. They help me all the time kicking scammers.
A friend of mine said this too yesterday. He’s lv 27 and gets 2+2 exp for a lv30 mob. wtf?
Back items just have to have priority over hobo sacks. That’s all.
Yea I know that there were clipping issues and my engineer allways had both back items and hobos active. It looked strange but at least I’ve seen my wings.
So there is no doubt that ANet tried to get rid of the hobo sacks for all the engineers out there but accidently have made a mistake so now the hobo sacks are displayed instead of all the new and cool back items.
ANet, will it be fixed soon?
Wanted to report a bug that the backitems for engineers now are invisible if you wear a kit’s hobosack. I strongly beleve you wanted to achieve the opposite, right ANet? So we engis can use the new back items aswell, or any other back item.
Please fix it asap, I want my spinal wings back.

Mesmers felt the same way with their skills, damage and aoes aswell bugs until last patch. Maybe we engineers will be able to use backitems too – … one day

You guys are sure about grenades aren’t able to be reflected? I mean afaik from my engineer, if I toss them next to the reflecting enemy, they hit the enemy due the splash without being reflected. Maybe this happened?
About the builds, currently I’m not really sure what to do, since most enemies are in groups where the new mantras both totally shine! Mantra of pain deals great damage against 3-5 targets and if you use the mantra to daze enemies while traiting at least 4 points in domination, you can go for halting strike wich deals great damage if you time it and also apply a decent amount of vulnerability for passive damage.
The question is: IF I need reflection, I have to go for 4 points into inspiration. So, will it be 6/4/0/4/0 for more personal damage, or will it be 4/6/0/4/0 for more mantra usages?? Will the 8% damage bonus be enough? Yet sometimes only 4 or 0%? I mean is it worth more than an additional mantra of pain + distraction + halting strike + vuln??? I doubt it tbh.
So I’d say a full dps build still is 6/6/0/0/2, for 2+ mantras in the utility slots 4/6/0/4/0 and for less than 2 mantras 5/4/0/5/0 or even 6 in inspiration if it comes handy to have increased feedback / nullfield dura or you can abuse corpses for feedbacks.
So PH doens’t work with iW … again. Well, the reflect uptime was just weird and needed to be fixed tbh. Fixes can result into nerfs, true, but they have to be done. Well, but seriously, who uses PH anyway? There is almost no situation, is there? Open world and maybe Arah?
Works fine for me. Maybe you get oor during the casting animation?
