Sounds like that anet should merge some servers.
lol, merge Desolation? Funny guy.
I think the OP’s point is that he isn’t happy about being in a position where there are potentially cool items, but because of the current implementation and the unknown factor of whether they will be fixed or not he doesn’t know whether he should buy them or not.
If they will be fixed it’s likely he wants them, if they won’t be fixed it’s likely he doesn’t want them.
The tokens are taking up space in the OPs bank, the items will just take those spots. Fixed is a relative thing, they show horns or a halo, they may not show them how you like but they still show them. You can take the opportunity now or miss out.
I think you are running into what PvM Chaos mentioned, you can’t pull too far in a straight line. Thief though if you use F2 to steal, circle with shortbow and switch to dagger with pistol the vet is dead before you need to worry too much about your health.
run it like any exe file. Left click and hold to drag it around. Right click to choose options. As above run GW2 in windowed mode or you won’t see it.
GW2 and Wildstar will not be allowed by NCsoft to directly compete and in theory destroy each other. That would mean a weaker bottom line. They are targeted at different crowds they are set-up with different players in mind.
What I get from this thread.
Players: “There’s no hard content, content that can actually be failed!”
ANet: Here, have harder content that can be failed!"
Players: “We’re failing that content because it’s hard. Teach everyone else how to play better.”
ANet: “How do we do that?”
Players: “Make harder content!”
ANet: “We just did that…”
Players: “Put it where I won’t be affected.”This events are far from being hard content, it is a race where player only need best damage nothing more.
i can see that as hard content.
Not sure if the last sentence is supposed to be, “I can’t see…” or not — but, anyway…
It’s obvious the OP and his supporters see the new event(s) as “harder,” otherwise there’d be no need for people to have to “learn” to play better. His solution is for ANet to put in tutorial content that encourages people to improve their play.
Thing is, these events are content that encourages people to improve their play. The OP wants there to be a tutorial to do this instead of using content he wants to play. The bad news for his idea is that putting in a tutorial after the fact would not generate the improvement he’s looking for, because:
- New players make up a small portion of the player-base
- Existing players would not go do “tutorial” content unless there was a reward for doing so
If there were rewards for doing so, players like the OP would also be doing the tutorial content, and running into the same issues they’re complaining about now.
I agree.
Could work but would need constant updating from the company which I don’t think would be sustainable. Look at the random tele things that came out with the aetherblades during the queens jubilee, they are not used because they go no-where, cost a lot to make and have not had any input from ANET since they where released.
What you are asking for requires a huge input of developer time, if they have the time go for it, if not this a a very back-burner thing.I don´t think it has to be like that. Part one of a map drops, chest location is set randomly. You could go there already if you can identify the area. Following pieces only complete the map. Certainly, this is a gross oversimplification in regards to coding, but it certainly doesn´t need a lot of maintaining once implemented.
People always want new shinnies.
random loot tables, I mean, we settle with that random junk in WB chests too.
Shinnies are not just loot though. Things like guards of the treasure, what is needed to find the treasure, how often you can find treasure. The list is long and people have a short attention span.

Finished the backpack last week and it did not cost 400g. But I did not buy every piece to get it either. I think Dulfy has gone through the costs each time she posts a new item.
Ogre
My goodness it will be great when that one perfect game finally comes out. No more “this game sucks and I am leaving, really, just you wait, I am you know.” Bliss.
I laugh at the people who comment ‘’2015, lol’’ or something simliar. What do you await, an expansion next month? The marketting itself gotta at leat take 2-3 months, not speaking about hints to build up the hype.
An expansion during 2014 is almost impossible.
Not at all impossible.
To clarify, they have said that expansion type content has been in the works from the time they released the live game (every company is working on the next thing while the first thing is shipped). They have been deliberately vague about how they will release it since they themselves where debating this. The content I am sure is done, the debate internally is done it is just timing now.

Also, spoon-feed players by having NPCs shout out instructions on how to defeat bosses:
[Assault Knights appear]
Rox: “Looks like Scarlet’s getting annoyed. Don’t forget to use your Scarlet’s Army Slaying Potion if you have any.”[Assault Knight takes a flying leap]
Majory: “The Assault Knight is going to pull you in, dodge, now!”[Assault Knights throw up their defensive shields]
Heal-o-Tron: Enemy-unit-has-engaged-shields. Suggest-cessation-of-condition-based-skills.Better if said warnings appear as large flashing text in front of their screens consisting of no more than two words and an exclamation “Drink Potion!”, “Dodge Now!”, “No Conditions!”
Because players are becoming too impatient (and possibly lazy) to read a long string of text on their right.
It has been shown that the human IQ has slowly been lowering since the Victorian age. Not boding well for the longevity of the human race, honestly.
Also, your ‘flashing words’… only if some of us have the option to shut the things off. Some people suffer from migraines and other issues that can be affected by a lot of things flashing on the screen.
Since the early 20th century, raw scores on IQ tests have increased in most parts of the world.353637 When a new version of an IQ test is normed, the standard scoring is set so performance at the population median results in a score of IQ 100. The phenomenon of rising raw score performance means if test-takers are scored by a constant standard scoring rule, IQ test scores have been rising at an average rate of around three IQ points per decade. This phenomenon was named the Flynn effect in the book The Bell Curve after James R. Flynn, the author who did the most to bring this phenomenon to the attention of psychologists.3839
The problem with studies, is that with enough of the ‘right’ candidates, they can be swayed to show pretty much anything. I do admit (see my other post to Mirta) that they should all be taken with a grain of salt. From my personal experience, I am apt to learn towards the average iq dropping. Or perhaps, people just prefer to act like idiots. I honestly don’t know.
Those data are from eveyone that takes an official iq test which for a while was every student in a large part of the developed world.

Hey Earlywood, This is Ajax the Fierce from our old guild HUG. Was wondering what server you are on now? I’ve just recently started playing again after about a year of being gone.
left click name, choose send PM.
maybe
I know they have stated it, but my pure opinion is that they should react to how the player-base want information about it right now and at least put a link to the statements so everyone can be re-informed.
I have been linking the interviews and conferences where Anet stated those things in the threads and everyone gets surprised which means that the majority actually don’t even know about these, supposedly already announced things.
You yourself say that the information is available, that people don’t want to find it is up to each individual.
They have stated long ago that the living story is divided into 4 groups. They have stated that these groups are a small part of the total with projects being worked on by other teams that have not been released yet. They stated that they did not have a clear idea of how they where going to release said content. They have I am sure decided this by now and it is only a question of when. Since China is going live within a month or two I would guess that is the when.
ANET has overhyped things and underhyped things. Frankly telling people everything is a recipe for a bland game. Caving in the the whims of the moment also lead to a bland game.
As Colin mentioned in this blog post, “Due to the size and scope of the final four story releases in season one, the next round of major features will be bundled together into a large “feature only” release that will come after the first season of the Living World 2014 has finished.”
More information on this feature release will come available after the current living world arc wraps up.
Well, last week the last of the 4 patches was release.
The final living world release has been stated to be coming on the 18th. It will only be a summary release to recap the story from what I have read.
People are winding themselves up tighter than is healthy.
Human, warrior, commoner, (hospital), go!
actually all of the classes/proffs work, they all take almost exactly the same length of time on the commoner hospital run.
How would this be a benefit for the game? You want it ok, but the game is not designed for open world pvp. The WvWvW area was designed to take this aspect of the game.
The day you kill her in Lions Arch.
To be serious they are releasing a wrap-up on the 18th which will tie up the story and lead the way to the next one. The next story will start sometime late spring early summer with the start of WvW and a patch for new sigils/ balance before it lands. Also probably a welcome China event and there is the possible return of sanctum of the winds. Lots of things between the old story arc and the new one is what I am getting at.
Sounds like envy, you have the money but someone else has more. That person did not do the same things you did so they must be cheating.
I was wondering about that as well. Also I was wondering about the fresh water comments since they seem to have no problem at all living in salt water.
If they added more things to use them up it would be nice. I made one back ascended and have another at iron stage if I really want to make it. Not a lot of reason to keep more than 500 of them but they keep adding ways of getting them.
Reading the forums I think I can confidently say there are exactly 151 players total that play the game.
They all guest to every event and there is a 150 person hardcap on zones, so the person who is 151 at the time cannot take part. This person is not a guest so maybe if you want to be generous there is one person per server that does not guest and 150 that always guest all the time.
I don’t really see the problem or how it could be a new low. As Burnham says it has been part of the game that has been approved by the game since the beginning.
—You have to love mmo’s man, it’s too easy or it’s too hard so nerf it—
I personally haven’t gotten past the hologram, what server are you on?! I would love to get the remainder of my achievements for this living story.
If you have the spinal blades you can use the portal at the diverse ledges to skip the hologram and go straight to the final instance.
You can use the basic as well that is created with iron, you don’t need the high end model to enter.
So, will everything be earlier or later now?
A bit confusing since my country (Venezuela) doesn’t do the time shuffle for summer/winter.
In spring time goes forward an hour. 8 will be 9 etc.
sounds like a bug, report it. You do not need to be a specific level I got them in the intro zone.
But I believe the daily reset is always UTC 0 and BLTC reset on sales as UTC 8.
Events are based on server time.
Would ANET put a notice up on their login page that the USA is changing to Summer time this Sunday the 9th of March?
Europe does not change until the 30th and I am sure it will lead to a lot of confusion since the company is based in the USA.
This is the first release that has been in my opinion bad. That they can’t seem to find their footing on this one is frustrating true. I am sure that they will go over this to find out why.
I have still really enjoyed the vast majority of the releases and found them to be until now really minimally bugged. This is the worst by far, but it’s not the first severely bugged living story patch either. Often it’s just stability, crashes and a few bugged achievements, but as time goes on, I find my frustration level going up.
I don’t remember any LS patch that didn’t come with 3-4 updates on the following day.
It is also perspective. The majority of games I played have had a fixed schedule for bug fixes. The game goes down for a half day. A bug is found the first day and you may get a fix the next with the game down for 2 hours. The chance is also good that the bug fix does not work so they wait until the beginning of the next week and then the game goes down for a half day. That the game does not go down at all amazes me, that there are bugs does not.
I can’t quite get this one either.

Assuming you are scared to do it via mail:
Have the friend put the money into the guild bank, and then you can withdraw it.
If you are super paranoid, list something low-level/super cheap on the trading post for the amount of gold you want to exchange and have your buddy buy it. The downside, of course, is that you will pay a listing fee and some of the sale will be taken automatically. This is the worst idea, though, economically.
I would not recommend this since this is mostly what gold farmers do. Just send the money if there is a problem contact support and sort it out.
Yes, you are allowed to use all aspects of the game whether you are a guest or not.
Teq now spawns on the even hours :\
Hope this helps.
or odd, depends on timezone.
GMT is even now CET is odd.
If you kill the same mob over and over you do not get the bonus exp. The booster I think raises your base rate so the 17xp is boosted.
Deposit was working for me this morning.
Whatever you do, don’t do champtrains especially when this is your first character.
I agree with this completely.
You can also consider going to Lions Arch and running with other people. You are up-leveled to 80 but your skills are still not the equal to a level 80. You will die more often but with the amount of activity there you will get a good amount of exp and karma (used for armour and weapons all through your characters development. The bags that drop also give tokens that can be traded in 100 for a level. I took a lvl 30 to 80 doing events and using the level up in the last living story.
Not sure if it is once per day. Logged in and did not get any drops, had not done them since yesterday afternoon CET.
I think this is a good idea.
You can use the tokens you get from dungeon runs to buy exotic armour and weapons. The karma you have built up can be used to buy exotic armours in Orr. Crafting is an option as is buying them straight off of the TP.
I don’t think this is 100% tech related which is why I put it here. There should be a way for the system to remember that you where at a location. It needs to remember that you did x damage to get gold etc damage during an event so there is a control of a sort.
It also is very irregular for me to see so many disconnects and wonder if others besides those who say in chat that they also got disconnected where affected.
Anything you can make by crafting can be bought more cheaply on the TP.
Is this true?
What good is crafting for?At the moment, I don’t have the materials to craft anything. I’m chopping all trees and all plants on my way to quests but I’m not focusing on it. Should I give it more time or what?
EDIT: just read this topic in “Crafting” category about whether or not crafting is worth it. And I have to say, there’s a lot of mixed feelings about it, I don’t know who to believe .
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Is-crafting-worth-it-2
I find being able to craft my own items very handy at times. I used my time in game to build up a stock of materials and when I had a bit would craft in various areas. I do not regret ever leveling up a craft. I did not use crafting as a way to avoid other forms of leveling to 80 so the money was not an issue.
