I am frustrated with crashes. I do realize that crashes do happen on stressed servers. I am frustrated that there is not way to get back to where you where. You can have done 90% of the new content, client crashes and you are in an overflow. I have been in groups for such things as teq but there is no guaranteed chance of getting back into the proper server even with this.
After the crash you do not get credit for events, you do not get to progress to the next phase and you get no drops. Three attempts now with Scarlet (not a lot but over 2 days at least one should have gotten me to the end).
It has come to a point where I don’t know if I will attempt scarlet again since there is not much chance of actually getting the credit anyway.
8, all proffs 2 assura, 2 sylvari, 2 norn 1 human and 1 charr. Just leveled up engi with last LS release.
Do people actually know what a slap in the face is? Getting the impression that they don’t.
Belive it or not, Devs are humans, same like you.
It’s their work and hobby, not entire life
China release is on days, I bet they’ve been working so kitten it, translating, locating the game into Asia. When it will be released, it will also bring a lot of stuff to fix and look into for couple weeks.
That’s the time they need, that so called “break” to make it possible to put more attention and focus into big release and fixing.
After that gets some “Stability” , they’re coming back with feature patch and new content.
This.
March 11-25(?) is open beta in China. If no huge crippling bugs the game goes live soon after. The time for the rune change is just before China goes live so everything can be synced.
They are sleeping right now. It is 1 AM.
There should be several youtube walkthroughs. The problem is over-micro managing and lack of individual thought from what I remember of failures on other servers. Turrets need to have people who know how to shoot at teq and drop poison cleansing, they need a team each at the chock-points to prevent champs rolling over them. One dps zerg on each side. Then it comes down to splitting evenly to defend the battaries. Once done properly people remember and will do it again. Getting into the rhythm is the hard part.

Did you genuinely think you could brush off the entire thread in two words?
It pretty much summed it up for me.
They are called bounties.
Warrior gets a free pass in a lot of peoples eyes.
Frankly pick one, it does not take long to level the long way around if you don’t like it.
Posts like the op leaves a very bad impression of GW1 players.
I generally don’t look at chat but I don’t have the same impression from Aurora Glade. There is always someone who feels that because they can do something everyone else is incompetent that has not done it, but that is unfortunately present in all games I have played. Very helpful responces most of the time.
It does not take many times opening the chests to see that what is in them is not incredible. It does not take much in the way of google search or looking in the Black lion forum to see that the drops are not great.
You can farm the keys and find out that the drops are not great.
Why spend real money at this stage of the games life to see that the drops are not great?
Interesting topic but why necro it?
I use redemption on my warrior. It is good, I do not have it on this character but illumination is also a really good choice.
I did not say any of this.
I’m sick of this generation of games and developers.
Fiontar is right – but it’s not just Anet and Blizztard – it’s the whole industry.
We’ve been plagued by a generation of cynics and board room directors making games.
The only interesting stuff I ever see anymore is on Kickstarter. Broken Age was just released.
I can’t wait for the Oculus Rift to hit the shelves, because I don’t think we’ll see anything worthwhile until then.
They don’t make games anymore, they make payment models.
But no one would pay if there weren’t games attached to the payment model. It’s surely changed, but the change isn’t just in how you pay.
It costs far more to make a game today..the costs are up, the amount of capital required is much higher, so you take a chance on kickstart (and it is a chance) or you’re supported by investors who you have to answer to.
This isn’t some greedy, cynical conspiracy you’re seeing. It’s what happens to every single niche market that goes mainstream.
I don’t care why it happens.
I just want it to stop.
I want games to be fun again.
Write your own code. If it does not sell, not a problem since you will be happy.
For zhaitan finale you need to start your own LFG. The majority do not want the story so any group you join will be explorable. LFG is cross server so anyone from your area NA or EU will see it.
Being nervous to speak in chat is not something anyone can help you with, just try it and see.
The royal we is always impressive.
The official EU languages are English, French and German. There are a lot more languages in the EU. The US is officially English but has a huge Spanish pop, some places more than native English speakers. Most of the games that I have played go for the official languages of the region not the total number of languages in the region.
Edit: wiki on Spanish in USA
The Spanish language is the second most used language in the United States. There are more Spanish speakers in the United States than there are speakers of Chinese, French, German, Italian, Hawaiian, and the Native American languages combined

If I understand this article (http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26258662) correctly GW2 would need to be for some people twice as good in personal terms to make up for the loss of GW1. Twice as good just to stay on an even footing with your old ideas is not going to happen. It seems though that no matter what is said it will not be possible to change anyone’s mind.
I don’t want to see other players. Can you fix that for me too?
Trees less than my characters height are annoying as well.
Oh, and any shade of red should be vanquished also.
I did not enjoy thief as much as other proffs and it took a while to find a play-style that was comfortable, I still play it on a regular basis. Necro went from a blah feeling to this is amazing when I ditched the minions completely, I play mostly scepter/dagger and love it. If the axe skills had a slightly greater range I would play that instead of scepter.
Each one of my characters I have found weak in some areas and really strong and or fun in others. Group I would go ele with staff, solo my hunter or mesmer. The rest I rotate through just to keep things interesting.
It is annoying as all heck to hear you need to make up your own mind but it is true.
May someone fill me in how GW2 is grind based?
Ascended Gear and its crafting, Yakslapper, “kill 1000 giants” . . . Legendaries . . . these are generally the go-to examples.
Those come up all the time true, these are aspects of the game they are not what the game is based on. For example you do not need giant kill to do anything else in the game. I personally have 500 in all the weapon crafting and I am not going to make any ascended weapons. I could like anyone else in the game make a legendary, I have absolutely no desire to do so. What parts of the game can’t I participate in?
This already exists. Anet programmed some events to actually punish zerging. Take the LA rescue event that happens hourly. If you zergball that, you’ll never get to the top tier 1200 citizens rewards. Players must split up to tackle multiple events in different places.
Also, with Guild Missions, we were introduced to some Bounties that can’t be simply run over, and challenges that also require people to split up.
Yes splitting the players up is an option. But I do wonder if it is possible to train the players into a professional fighting army though in game content and game mechanics.
What would be the incentive? What would stop people from saying ‘meh, this other game is fun without the hassle.’? Armies do not need to be organized, just that an organized army walks over and unorganized one, just as a mob of people in real life can walk over a semi-organized unprepared force.
Teq no longer needs massive co-ordination. The servers it is done on know when and where to go. The problem lies with people who zone in, see it is an overflow and leave. If they had stayed the overflow could have done the event. Commander flags are used as a location marker, if you could buy a gemshop item that temporarily marked a spot on your map it would do the exact same thing. The commanders who first organized and got things going where absolutely required. The ones the come now are nice but not an absolute requirement. It is the same with everything. A really neat TED talk by Clifford Stoll summed it up “The first time you do something, it’s science. The second time, it’s engineering. The third time, it’s just being a technician.” Teq is at the technician stage and soon wurm will be there.
It is a game, you don’t like it, no one but you can decide.

Has the entire backstory.
Duo, hmm. You could try to pick a map and agree on either completing it if not completed or you could try to complete as many events as possible on a specific map. You could champ hunt in out of the way areas, two is enough to kill them and add some spice to the kill http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_champions.
ok it was from Zoid

I seem to get blue quagen potions of the endless variety and not others. Is there a chance to get an option to mystic forge them for a chance of other potions?
Ele for me was a lot of fun. Very tricky to get going on, but for me a lot better survivability wise than thief at lower levels. It took me until almost 80 to get a good feeling for thief and it is still not a favourite of mine. Hunter was my first to 80 and I still try out new content first on her, a lot of fun but as said the pet AI can drive you nuts. Warrior I did next to last (just at the begining of the year actually) and while it is sound and does good damage for me was not exciting to play.
Can you clarify what you mean by no DPS. Do you not want to do any damage at all? No meleee damage? It is kind of hard in this game to advance without doing any damage. Support is great, but each player can support themselves mostly health wise. If you want to set up combo fields it is tricky to time things right unless you are with a well co-ordinated group.
Haven’t you already done this thread last week?
The events are scaled. Respawn can be a pain but as was written above you seem to be doing too low damage at lvl 40. I have solo’d this game on multiple characters, 7 proffs are at 80 my engi is lvl 61 now, if you have trouble with carefully soloing a group event don’t solo it. Call out in chat. There was someone who did map complete with I believe lvl 60 being their final level posting here, you do not need to complete events to get vistas or poi’s, you don’t even need to get into combat to finish the vast majority of hearts.
I haven’t played this game all that much, so I dont understand what low-damage really is. I am only level 45 now and I usually buy gear from the Karma vendors.
I play elementalist and usually pull 4-5 melees at a time and AoE them down with my staff in less than 10 seconds (usually by going Bleed from Earth + the two AoE Fire + the Arcane AoE blast). Is that low?
Problem is, when you encounter a Veteran mob, it can take maybe 20-30 seconds to kill it and as you get it low ther other stuff you killed respawns back again.
I have played a lot of WoW and other MMOs, I know that in those games, respawn rates were nowhere near this fast.
Also Guild Wars was supposed to be about the “impact” the player does on the environment: what impact is there if mobs can’t even stay dead while I am there. The immersion is simply destroyed by this.
I have yet to see a MMORPG game able to give a good quality ‘impact’ to the world environment. I have followed games for many years, all talk about it, not one has delivered. For me it is not a bad thing, in order for it to work you would need phasing so severe you would never ever meet someone else since even a little change in play-style would lead to a cascade of changed situations. You wind up in a personal instanced game from beginning to end and it is no longer even close to being a MMORPG.
To your combat, what you have written seems fine, I personally do not see problems with respawn. It can be a great thing if you are trying to kill off x-number of mobs. It can lead to your untimely death. Again though if you are trying to do a group event solo then you will run into situations where the mobs overwhelm you. That is kind of the point.
I guess I was one of those crazy fools who did not think it was a good idea to have something other than pure cosmetic/convenience items in the gem store. I am glad that this new item does not also have an add-on capability.

yellow is event window. It can spawn during this time. Active events say they are active.
You say everyone uses and knows UTC. I don’t think that is true. It may be wherever you are from, but I can’t say it is worldwide, as much as it maybe should be.
Many, many computers use Windows Vista or higher, and it comes with an automatic time zone converter, right in the corner. =)
No, I don’t say everyone uses and knows UTC. Reread. What I said is that if people know more than two timezones in the world, it’s more likely to be theirs and UTC (except the US, but wake up, US isn’t the whole world… yet).
I use Windows 7, I just checked and I see no converter. Plus, if it existed (which is not the case on my system) it’d be a third party tool. ArenaNet should give straight information in UTC without us having to use a third party tool.
left click the time, click on change time and date, add clock.
They don’t have powers in game but they also have company resources out of game. Why are you surprised? They are at work. They can through company means (not through their character) take action against accounts they find breaking rules.
Edit spelling and grammar.

Since you are behind an account that should not be tied to your financial account they have no way of officially knowing who are investors.
Also unless you own a huge chunk of voting shares you have very little say in anything that any company does.
0/10 to the OP, complaining on how the game is exactly like how it was marketed.
They marketed as fun, experience shows quite a different story. Especially since I have a bunch of people confirming this.
You have a bunch of people who don’t play the game confirming to someone that does not play the game that they don’t play the game.
The game has changed a lot. You personally don’t see any changes at all, and you use the forums for finding out what can easily be found out by logging into the game. It is very likely nothing will be added that you want.
Living Story isn’t bad, but lately I’ve been feeling the expansion itch myself. Well, to be honest it’s not the expansion so much but what is commonly associated with an expansion, new maps, new races, new classes, new personal story etc. etc. Presently the Living Story isn’t providing this content. I’m fine if the Living Story was intended to tide us over between expansions, I think the temporary, bi-weekly nature of the Living Story is good to keep players busy and invested while a major expansion is being produced. As the core focus of the development efforts, probably not as nice as an expansion.
I think once the China/Asia release has been done and dusted, then they will start working on a proper B2P expansion.
Until then, anything new will come in Living Story.
We have an ETA on GW2 in Asia yet?
They have posted on twitter that the release is on track and soon™, no date given but from that I would guess before summer.
Don’t you post this every couple of weeks? What are you hoping for?
@Simply Nooby: Which greatsword do you recommend to discover?
Discover the ones you have not done before, and with the mats you have on hand. Most mats costs roughly the same if you don’t have them. Any weapon will do just greatswords generally sell better.
Some people have trouble deciding what is the effort to fun ratio they want. They will keep doing things that are not fun to them and ignoring things that are. If you are someone like this then yes any game is impossible to catch up in. If you enjoy just having fun then this game is amazingly easy to get caught up to exotic level.
I did when I was first running my toons, run the high level areas of orr and southsun in partial greens armour and accessories with rare weapons (2 levels down from the at the time top level items).
Fun is what you make of it.
My little under leveled engi does not seem to draw any more aggro than any of my other lvl 80 toons.
I really want the Tier 3 cultural armor for my norn..But i cant talk to Firenzia in divinitys reach. She says she is unable to sell it to me.. I have not finished my story quests yet..but im level 80
Divinities Reach is human T3 that is why she cannot help. Go to the norn city.
