In my experience, there’s a DR in between runs even if you switch character. For example, after you finished P1 on toon #1, you have to wait a certain amount of time before your toon #2 finishes that same path to get full 60 tokens.
It won’t help a thing as long as the time/gold earned is still highest in CoF. That’s why it’s called farming. For farmers to move away from CoF, other paths either has to match or exceed the income from CoF P1.
^^ I like that idea, a dynamic ever-changing rewards based on people that runs the dungeon. This will encourage players to spread out on their dungeon runs. Also prevents one particular path from getting farmed.
Dungeon: Warrior and Mesmer.
Warrior would probably take the spot. It’s just so useful in any dungeon path.
No sarcasm, just simple math. Elitist x elitist = best party!!! Negative times negative equals positive.
^^ Exactly why those elitist party with " bla bla or kick" or “dont suck or kick,” ends up being the best party. They’re not kittens or anything, they’re actually quite nice more often than not. :P
So yah those “experienced” groups are just your regular pugs. Sometimes I advertised for “meleeing lupicus” or “full melee” and still someone invites me to a group where they have no idea what they’re doing; it’s like they can’t read. What’s really funny is sometimes you get one of those loud mouth member which really is just as bad as the next guy.
I would run your very first arah path with your guildies. It may not be successful but at least no one would be always yapping at you and actually giving helpful advice. Also watch the videos sticked on this forum so you know what to expect.
Lastly, those “experienced” groups are not some speed runners who finish in 15-20 minutes. Most of them aren’t that good, so after you’ve done 1-2 runs of p3 consider yourself “experienced”
This is not just about whose time is more important, or whose schedule should be followed. Bottom line is there is a coverage insufficiency in almost all servers that opens up your lands for the taking. And WvW being a coverage game make it less competitive and sometimes just frustrating.
“We take your stuff while you’re asleep, and you take ours while we’re asleep,” doesn’t bode well for most players. And no, I’m not talking about a single individual who plays at off-peak. It’s about enough number of players who have a chance of defending their lands on any given time of attack.

Be glad you have the greatest player of Guild Wars 2
If I were you, I would just cash-in and forget about the legendary, for now. You said you don’t farm and you’re a casual, so it might take a big commitment for you to see it thru the end. Also, it sounds like you were forced to work on legendary because of the drop, and not something you planned all along.
PS. I’ve never use a mace on a guardian(as a main weapon), or any of the 8 classes I have. I might just be forgetting though.

Well regardless, he shouldn’t have trouble transferring to any server he wants to go. I’ve notice fluctuations every time I guest even on the top 3 rank worlds.
^^ Oh? Did something change, or was it like that all along? Afaik, the reason server status goes from full to high or vice verse is because of online people. Isn’t that’s why guild can bandwagoned from JQ to SR?
Only problem is no one would wanna do low levels. New players would have a harder time pugging.
Other than that, I’m all for it.
If your asking for better story mode rewards to give players incentive to do it again, then no, at least not specifically.
Couple of tips:
Watch the videos sticked before you actually run the path.
Gear properly. It may seems counter intuitive but Knight/Berserker will teach your limits/what to dodge and the dungeon mechanics.
Have some experienced under you belt before you do arah which may be challenge because of lupicus and trash runs.
Lastly, just stick to it. It may seem hard right now but it will get better once you know the dungeon.
PS. There are those players that run dungeons for a living. For them, speed clearing = fun. They’ve run the dungeon so many times that they’re way past of taking it slow and watching the scenery. You’ll just have to excuse them/us xD
For finding groups, just make your own party and stick to the standard PuG strategy.

I also want the patch notes. Obviously it’s subject to change, but not much will probably dramatically change within 1-2 days before release.
Safer is irrelevant. This has been proven by the abundant use of berserker gear. So essentially you’re limiting ranged players to doing less damage with no real advantage.
Range doing less damage might be a valid argument if, for example, melee died frequently and were forced to use soldier gear while ranged could sport berserker.
I’m gonna have to bookmark this argument; it’s oozing with perfection. No sarcasm intended.
Their mistake was that exotics were too easy to obtain, far too easy. I have 4 fully geared and 2 partially geared exotics toons. This is totally acceptable in a WvW environment, but in PVE it leaves something to be desired.
God forbid Arah gets farmed. CoE will take throne before the plaque reach Arah.
You’re kidding, right? All the speed runs group consist of 3-4 Warriors. They’re still the King of PVE.
Wow you guys are something else. He just said yesterday on the livestream that they play tested the LFG tool and it’s coming along great and will 100% be in the game before the end of the year. Why not do some research before making a whine post?
You cannot possibly be happy that it may come at December 31. That’s waiting a maximum possibility of 5-6 months wait from now.
To be honest that site is not very snappy at times. Often there are error loading, or long load times that never ends.
This should be at the TOP of their list rather than that silly living story. Put your living story crew in to work on it if you have so you can release this July.
6/8 Level 80. I’m working on my 7th 80 which is a charr thief. My Necro will have to go last.
Sorry nothing will be done. You can report it if that makes you feel better, but the best course of action is move on and forget.
Don’t join parties with 3 or more player on the same guild.
PS. Happened to me once at fotm 10 (not too bad considering I also got a holo wing during that run) but now I’ve learned my lesson.
I agree @Rising Dusk
I consider skipping trash mobs a skill/strategy that allows you to do a dungeon one way, similar to how you kill a boss. If you cannot skip trash mobs, then you lack the ability to finish a dungeon this way. Of course the other way is killing all the mobs you encounter, and by all means do so.
There are norm ways that PuGs have found to be the optimal way of doing things, like skipping trash after 1st boss in Arah P3. Most players consider it not worth the time, if you think otherwise make your own group. It’s by dungeon design that it has come this way, not the players’ fault.

It’s similar to CoF P1; why do you think it’s getting farmed? The time per reward is just so much better. I’m not defending exploiting but when you give player the option to cut the run time by like a 1/5, they will do it. I almost feel like P1 is an exploit considering you can earn ridiculous amount of gold with so little effort and time.
PS. I don’t think it’s incompetent. P2 is just as easy as P1 but just longer. It’s not laziness either, it’s the time saved.

I came to conclusion that lupi projectile dont travel in straight direction since even though Im at the side of the circle I still get hit.
I dont think red circles should lie. Its like to dodge or not to dodge which could cause you to down if it didnt go your way.

Arah. I just like the feeling; its bright and pleasing to my eye.
My only only concern is hard != long. When your party isnt good enough you should know right away. A lot of players are on a time constraints. Its why fewer players run arah p4; yes i know it can be done in 30 mins now.
The keyword here is 5 PuG first timers. Three hours isn’t that bad considering if you hadn’t done it before + PuGs. Who knows what they gears they bring. Congrats.
I’d imagine you play for the experience then. But after you have done the things you enjoy, don’t you think they get stale? That you have to work on something to keep playing? Let’s say you truly, truly enjoy dynamic events/hearts. Regardless of how much you enjoy them, I can’t imagine you doing them as much as a CoF farmer farms P1. If you can, then you one of the very few.
1. Maps are empty – After players have done their 100% completion, there’s virtually no reason to come back. It’s not like, “I just logged in, I feel like doing a dynamic event in Caledon forest” or “I should hop on my alt and do some hearts at Metrica Province.”.
I have many spots around Tyria that I enjoy returning to in order to complete my daily.
I have favorite events that I enjoy returning to in certain zones, and not just world boss events.
I enjoy redoing and taking people through the many jumping puzzles around the world.
I always have at least one alt on the go.
The maps on my server are not empty.
Meh, I must be missing out then. I usually get 3/5 or 4/5 just doing my regular Arah/CoF runs. Then I just hop in to wvw and I’m done.
Those events in open world is pretty fun the first several times. It’s not something I’d go back to on a daily basis because of the rewards.
Jumping puzzle – That’s why Anet invented the portal. jk To each their own.
I have 6 80s. I don’t really know if my map is empty but LA seems pretty lively over here.
ExploitZerg Isle.
Did you see a commander exploiting?
1. Maps are empty – After players have done their 100% completion, there’s virtually no reason to come back. It’s not like, “I just logged in, I feel like doing a dynamic event in Caledon forest” or “I should hop on my alt and do some hearts at Metrica Province.”
2. Gear Grind – Legendary was probably the worst idea in the game. For some this is their endgame. This is the sole reason why farming is very widespread right now. I wished Anet have added a real endgame in the very beginning.
I think there had been some kind of meeting/change of strategy for SBI EB crew. They’ve been pounding on BP since reset. As long as SBI can keep bay and specially hills on our BL, we’d be in a pretty good spot.
AC is not the equal playing field compared to other dungeons. After the AC revamp other dungeons have better rewards/time ratio. You run “daily” CoF because it’s easy and fast, so unless you want the AC tokens you’ll stay away from it.
tl;dr Experienced players run CoF (fast/easy), CoE (same as CoF), or Arah. I do run SE for tokens.
Anet has already mentioned that they cannot just buff the HP of the pets nor make them immune to AoE. Why? Because pets ended up being able to solo tank bosses, more so regular mobs.
My solution to this is make the HP of the pet and the ranger interconnected to some degree. Not shared HP but by % or whatnot. If the ranger is out of AoE and the pet is, there could be a dodge button for pets.
IDK, I’m just throwing it out there.
No.

There was OP cries from BM builds. What’s really surprising is they nerf ranger across the board in both PVP and PVE.
Too much fail if your comparing mesmer’s nerf on one of its utility to other classes’, not to mention mes is already one of the biggest offenders on CC/utility in the entire game having the most useful ones in BOTH PVP and PVE.
I was happy back then when players farmed CS. I believe the dungeons are the end-game, the difficult stuff …. you know the things where you need your brain. I think all hardcore farmers are working on legendary because I just cannot get any motivation to keep running same kitten for hours when money comes easy enough just doing the things you enjoy.
If this is for PVE, no big deal. If for sPVP, it’s to give player time to dodge, whatnot. Without the 1s recharge mesmer can interupt/control players almost instantaneously.
Are we talking about sPVP or PVE?
A good change overall. It’s for the betterment of all classes, maybe exceptt ranger
And that’s why you should have 80 of all classes. I’m close to my 6th 80s
Who is ‘Zommoros’? And what does he have to do with the Mystic Toilet?
Zommoros is the faithful guardian of our legendary toilet. He has many jobs, one of which is to constantly clean, polished, and make it attractive to the citizens of Tyria. Whenever the urge hits you, just remember to pay respect to Zommoros for keeping your behind clean.
True balance doesn’t exists assuming we are doing the same content. Admittedly 4 warriors 1 mes is the perfect way of doing CoF1, which is fine. But we have 9 dungeons which can all be optimally tackled using just 3 classes. Grab your melee, stack and burn it down. Other classes that excels at condition damage, range or control are left behind.
I think the problem lies on both class balance and dungeon design. Don’t get me wrong, I have almost 6 80’s and I like smooth runs. I don’t farm CoF though.

^^ I don’t know what you mean by “exact same thing,” but if I understand correctly you mean fulfilling roles. For example, what warrior bring to the party is arguably “damage.” (there are banners/vuln, but we’ll disregard those for argument’s sake).
If Anet’s plan holds true, other non-warrior class built for damage, fulfilling the role DPS in a party, should be able to match those of warrior. This doesn’t mean a guardian can since it’s an innately defensive class. IE. thief and yet it’s regarded as inferior of that of warrior in damage dealing. What about ranger, where does it fit? Engi? Necro?
It won’t even put a dent on the trinity. Magic Find will insignificantly increase the likelihood of already very rare drops.
Players will still want to speedrun dungeons for tokens and money from killing bosses and completing it.
PS. I despise MF. It’s in my firm belief that it should only exist in the open world where you solo.
I think we’ve had enough for living story/temporary content. What we need now is permanent addition to the core game. Like you know new skins from dungeon, a new dungeon, cough LFG finder cough. Those kinds of stuff.
