Server pride/identity is overrated. In my very rough estimate, the majority of active WvW players in the top servers are tranfers. I agree, identity is important but it may not necessarily be a server.
It seems ascended did its job on you. It was implemented to satisfy gear grinders and those who felt it was too easy to obtain exotics. I personally don’t mind ascended, however, a lot of players didn’t like ascended when it was introduce several months ago.
Dungeon survivability in this game is basically dodge, utility, and mechanics. If you’re dying in 3 hits, you may have miss a dodge, didn’t use proper utility such reflects, or was surprised by an unexpected mechanic. Also, prolonged fights are disadvantageous for berserker players.
Maybe the better word is “compelled”.
I was thinking the same. How did you confirm that?
If you’re selling, it should default at highest sell price. If you’re buying, it should default at highest buy order.
its unfair to others who likes the feature patch.u made it seems game gonna die tomorrow while majority have no problem with this patch.it is just unhappy guys speak more.u can just delete the game and leave if u dont like it,but whats the point to post it here.nothing changed on every map. ppl still enjoy this game.could u just leave it alone and play someting else if it bothered u so much.
“while majority have no problem with this patch”
Which is why there’s dozens of threads beaming about how good the changes are.
Oh wait.
You think all the forum post in the last few days combined accounts for 51% or more of a ALL ACTIVE gw2 players? I mean I dunno the numbers, but it should be way more.
Maybe the 51% “just delete the game and leave” because they “dont like it”, and ask “whats the point to post it here”. Maybe I’m just speculating.
Wouldn’t that be something. I’m sure I’ll notice if half the player base suddenly went poof.

I think the fact that every single discussion space for GW2—both in and out of the game— is lit up with posts and comments about how bad the changes are is proof enough that the majority does not like the changes. If you want, feel free to prove that it’s just a vocal minority that dislikes the changes; but I really, really, REALLY doubt it.
I’m not going to prove anything since I don’t know the metrics and neither do you. It’s only natural that those who didn’t like the change are more vocal. And those who are happy/didn’t mind the change are quiet. I mean why bother voicing your opinion in and out of game when you could just be playing it. It’s easy to think that the threads upon thread all came from unique poster, but in reality they’re just the very same people.

hahahahaha, majority?
You obviously haven’t seen thread after thread of people hating this new patch.
Even if you count every single forum poster who voice their negative opinion on this patch, I doubt it will surpass 10% of all active GW2 players.
So, I think he is right. The super majority of players are in the game playing it.
I didn’t really notice it.

That is NOT a review. That is simply a commentary from someone who admitted he hasn’t fully explored all the feature pack has to offer.
cant you form your own opinions?
With replies like this, can’t blame you for leaving.
What replies are you expecting? Simple answer for a simple question. Since OP didn’t specify what is he’s expecting/looking for in the game, he’s the only who really knows if he should return.
Reinstall the game and don’t uninstall it again. That way, you can just patch, get in the game, and judge for yourself.
After reading this thread, I don’t even know what “veteran” means anymore.
I can’t believe people still uninstall today considering how cheap storage space is. GW2 is practically free to play, so unless you’ll never play it, wouldn’t it be better to just dump it in a hard drive just in case?
I mean, geez, 19GB you have to redownload. Even if you have to box that’s still a lot of patching to do if you ever feel the urge to play again.
It used to be that by the time your half way through level cap, you have already unlocked almost everything you need. The only thing left for the later half of your leveling experience is getting better gears.
You can already buy yourself an 80 anyways.
This is how it should have been in the beginning. We had it easy these couple years.
I’m pretty sure I would have bought this at release no matter what.
Although I wonder what I would have thought of the game if it had started out this way and ended up the way it was.
You probably wouldn’t know any better since you’re new to the game. If I were a new player and have played other MMOs, I would probably just think of it as a learning experience. Putting it in perspective compared to other MMOs leveling system, this is nothing.
They wanted to nerf keyfarming? Which I’m totally cool with. :P
I don’t support this. This would actually lessen diversity among players. As it is, players use any title they feel like. If dungeon master would grant a dungeon related stat, it would be the only title you would see when running dungeons.
And ? Would this in any way, shape or form affect you and your playstyle? No.
Actually yes. If this happens, titles would become part of your build. There will be meta titles (i.e. top 3 titles for each game mode). Currently, players lean more on zerkers for pve because it’s efficient and most players want a fast run. If you put yourself in the shoes of most players, you would be more likely to use a particular title because you want a fast dungeon run.

We need a super commander tag to differentiate from the common commander tag.
Make it cost 1000 gold and make it into a star shape.
The “real” commander, those who spend of most of their time in WvW, wouldn’t be able to afford it though. :O
As it stands right now, most parties that wanted to run zerkers trust the joining member that they indeed wearing zerk.
I’m afraid we’ll see a lot more of “pinging” after the nerf.
I have to run temples to get dragonite. QQ
Players are also more likely to melee on warrior and guardian. Profession discrimination goes beyond the zerker gear. We’re now talking about base hp, base armor, and defense.
Problem with dungeon is not zerg gear but you can run past mob and they stop follow you after 5sec,if you arrgo them they should follow you forever(make tanks and support needed)…
That would entice the use of zerker gear even more as you will need to clear more mobs.
They’re not going to “Destroy Zerker”…
They’re going to destroy the environment in which it is the best answer to every challenge – hopefully by adding new challenges where its not the best solution.
It’ll still be the best choice some of the time.
Anet has demonstrated repeatedly that to fix problems they will take the path of the least resistance(aka the most lazy/worst path). In this case that means nerfing berserker gear.
They haven’t demonstrated once that they understand what the real problem is.
So please tell me what the real problem is other than players being lazy and being entitled to rewards for little to no effort. For the record I do have a full set of zerker.
Mobs. If only they are more than just a damage sponge players would use other builds. Wvw and spvp have a lot of viable builds.
this is what you get for putting all your eggs in one basket.
nobody told you to, you just followed a trend like a lemming.
nerf-lol.
You mean to tell me that I should have had:
Knight’s helmet
Valkyrie Shoulder
Hunter Coat
Assassin’s Leggings
Carrion Gloves
Apothecary Boots ???
I’m fine with nerfing zerkers but they better not nerf speedrunning.
I’d hate to see artificial barriers to slow down speed groups.
There is no place for positive threads in this forum, sadly.

They should increase the TP tax to 20-25%.
Question to people with 500+ gold:
Wtf are you doing to get that much gold? Champ farming?
I just run daily dungeons. It’s not for everyone but it’s profitable especially if you do quick paths. Don’t work on legendary and save up!
About 570G at the moment. I would have 1k+ if I didn’t crafted my 7 characters to 80. :P
If they only want people with high AP who are you to deny them that?
Because having a lot of AP really makes any difference whatsoever..
Any difference or not, let them play with whoever they want.
Player with higher AP has a higher chance of being better than one who has lower AP simply because of having been in the game longer.
Outside of guild mission, guilds in GW2 is really non-essential. One reason for that is the ability to represent multiple guilds. There’s no loyalty to one guild.
None that I know. We might as well forget about it.
It’s a waste of time and guest pass, and I never understood the reasoning behind this.
Good luck with that I recently changed my afk station from LA to Divinity’s Reach.
I used to think this game is CPU bound but now I’m having 2nd thoughts. Every time I play the GPU fan starts revving, but I’ll check gpu usage tomorrow.
At 1080p, that will cap you at 60fps with max settings and vsync in most scenarios except really large zerg and LA.
I’m curious if anyone really can maintain a 60 on massive zerg and at LA.
lol who cares… when ESO comes out u watch and see how many servers will still be highly populated…
ESO will flop hard and it won’t even be funny. I suspect GW2 and other MMO will lose some of their population 1 mo after ESO released, and after that it’s back to normal.

Something you elitists dont realize is this; you are cutting you own djck by not teaching them, you are getting people thatwill lose completely all their interest in dungeons. Teach them the paths and some guideline of builds, might take a while, but chances are, it is only needed once, because next time you need to run the dungeon, you might have more people to do it with.
I would never teach player who are stubborn and insist on using their crappy builds and not take the time to get better by reading on forums/watching videos. A lot of “play how I want” players are like this. If you insist on your clerics/scepter camping/healer guardian, I will not even bother with you.
Simple then: boot him. f he rejoins then boot him again. The LFG tool has a thing that if you on a party too many times, it wont let you do it again for a while.
I dont like these kind of players either. Yes, they make runs slower, they refuse to bend to somebody else’s will, they get defensive, but at the end of the day, nobody has the right to tell him what to do. It is his own choice, and although we dont agree with it, we must respect him and boot him from our group. As simple as that.
Which brings us to the OP’s point. I totally agree with his 2nd statement that the player who assembled the party should have some sort of protection. If you don’t like the party, leave and make your own. A lot of times, you can tell a bad player by his weapons/armors/utilities (signets) equipped/AP to lesser extent. When I request for a kick, it may not get seconded, or worse I’m the one who gets kicked for being “elitist.”
Then that means nobody agreed with you and thus they are in their right, since you are not a majority. Sure it is your group, and sure I would like some sort of “protection”, but the possibilities to abuse this are far greater than these scenarios. Get a friend to join your party, or a guildy, or start making a small group of known dungeon runners which happen to do similar paths to you at the same time adn which you know have good builds, like I did. We usually call each other for dungeon paths, if one is available then we try to get as many as possible, then fill in with pug. We dont kick them for the most part, but instead teach them, in a very nice and respectful manner, because chances are, if you do it in a mean way they will continue doing so out of spite.
I don’t know how two players have the right to kick 1. Obviously, 2 is more than 1 but that’s not a majority. Two players disagreed with me and the other 2 agreed with me, yet I can still be kicked. In terms of abusing, protection won’t be abuse not in a way that’s already prohibited in the game anyways(ie. verbal). There are badmouth/arrogant players in every game, blacklist them and move on.
I don’t think it’s really relevant having friends in your party/guild runs. If you’re running with friends, well, you can do whatever you want, even run naked and everything is cool. I’m just talking in terms of pugs, since that we’re it’s hard to get a good runs in.

Grind is when you need to do something you don’t like to get the thing you want.
That definition is probably better than the wiki one. Doing repetitive tasks that you enjoy doesn’t make it a grind.
The problem is the way people play. Some wanna invest hours and effort to achieve something, and the other simply just wanna play casually. But both of them wants the same thing. The “casual” player thinks it’s a grind, the “hardcore” player thinks it’s an achievement that he worked for.

What is grind?
I need to make sure we’re talking about the same thing.
