I am not sure you are here by mistake.

This is the forum from Guild Wars 2.

You may be looking for The Sims 4

You are welcome

You mean Guild Wars 2 forums? The game that is supposed to be all about community, guilds and teamplay? And you find “marriage” or any sort of brotherhood/partnership to be out of place? Perhaps you’re the one in the wrong place. =)

Ahhhh ok it’s me who is wrong.

Well in that case i miss a modern planes combat simulator in here.
We could have an Aircraft Carrier south of Lions Arch.
That would even breath new life into the PvP world.
And actually people even getting married on Aircraft carriers.

For the people who don’t like plane combat we could introduce some maps from Call of Duty. And we could open Restaurants for the people who like to run economy simulations. Car racing is missing as well.

Behind all that unnecessary sarcasm I can’t help but notice that you think that GW2 is a game focused on…what exactly? It’s an MMORPG in which we have Southsun Sprint, which is essentially a race minigame(or “car racing” as you called it) based on other games. We have Crab-Toss minigame which is basically “tag” with fancy additions. We have jumping puzzles, “Capture The Flag” etc.
Your argument makes no sense whatsoever. Unless that wasn’t your point and you’re just typing random sentences because you’re bored.

This game is innovative. Marriages were in plenty of other MMORPGs and while they aren’t neccessary, they add to the experience.

What would marriage grant you?
- Additional 10-slot bank tab shared between two players. There could be some sort of progression system that would allow players to upgrade it to a 20-slot one.
- 10% faster revival of your loved one.
- 25% magic find buff when doing activities together/being nearby eachother.
- Ability to send as many messages/letters to your loved one as you like, without worrying about the capacity of your/their mailbox. (Unlimited messages)
- 5% cheaper Gem Store gifts if exchanged between those players.
- Some kind of title. (“Bound”, “Taken”, “Happy Ever After”)

How would “marriage” be useful?
It would allow players to share account-bound items through the additional bank tab I’ve mentioned above. Things such as ascended materials needed for crafting would hold a higher value. I’m pretty sure that most of you have like 20 stacks of bloodstone dust sitting in your bank. I personally have 79 bloodstone bricks I will probably never use.
(Unless you’ll add some sort of amazing “build your own bloodstone house” feature. <3)

What would be the requirements?
A special ring bought in the gem store or acquired through map completion, or by other means. It would give people a reason not only to explore more, but to do it together. Perhaps after clicking it, it could give both players an ascended ring with the stats they choose. I personally like this idea.
Also it would be neat if there could be some sort of ceremony which would include a short cutscene of both characters holding hands or something. (Imagine all of the romantic screenies)

What if something bad happens?
Upon ending the marriage, all account-bound items would go to their respective owners. Maybe except materials that were used in crafting. That seems a bit impossible to fix.

Is it unfair to other players?
Maybe. I’m not sure. To me it seems like addition that isn’t too game-breaking and certainly isn’t “pay to win”.

No, this doesn’t have to be a “marriage”, but something similar. Like “BFFs” or whatever translates the best into the GW2 universe. I mostly just want to be able to do more things with ascended materials, and marriage seems like a win win. Add some sort of house additions and we have a much improved roleplaying game.

What do you guys think?

Mordrem & Chests

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Yoroiookami.3485

Is it just me or are Mordremoth’s minions really obsessed with protecting the bandit chests? Whenever I try to loot one next to a mordrem, it does everything in its power to stop me from opening it. It has 3-4 people hitting it, yet it focuses on the guy looting the chest. An army of mordrems marches on a castle to capture it for their ‘master’, but a single guy opening a bandit chest takes their priority?

Conclusion: Skritts = Mordrem and Mordrem = Skritts. They want their shinies for themselves.

Also. Please lower the rate of “Cripple” statuses you get in Silverwastes. It’s simply annoying.

I would also like to see female choices that show skin like arms or legs but are not “boob-focused”.

Plenty of those to be honest.

Also please don’t turn this game into TERA. I like that females wear armour that actually protects them. (There are exceptions ofc)

I disagree that there are “plenty” of female armor that shows skin but not boobs. And I am talking about having choices. I completely agree that there should be more female armor that actually protects and have stated so in many other threads. However those who want to wear skimpy armor should also have that choice.

All I’m saying is that the armor choices should be more evenly spread between realistic, sexy, and stuff in-between.

You may disagree all you like. I was stating facts, actually:

<snip pics>

And those are just humans.

An outfit’s “sexiness” (which I do not want) is apparently subjective since I disagree with you for many of your examples. And I’m not sure why you are arguing with me – as I said I would simply like a greater variety in choices. Both full armor and not, sexy and not.

“I would also like to see female choices that show skin like arms or legs but are not “boob-focused”.” is what you said.
I gave you some examples of female armour which exposes both arms and legs. Now, how can you disagree with that, I have no idea. You have a right to your opinion, the problem is that I don’t understand how can there be an opinion when you can clearly see that they are exposed. That’s just confusing.
Now, you have a right to ask for more, but I’d rather have devs work on armour in general. Making “not so spiky” heavy armours would be great.

Is it Time for Veteran content yet?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Yoroiookami.3485

Yoroiookami.3485

It’s beyond time.

It’s probably 18 months past when veteran content should have been added.

Unfortunately Anet won’t implement it because we’re not worthy.

So two new zones aren’t veteran content? Or are you thinking veteran content is only dungeons?

The problem is there are people assuming all veterans want the same stuff…I see no evidence of that.

Umm, if the average player can complete it with a mindless blob, then it’s not the “veteran” content that people are referring to. People want stuff they actually have to work at, mobs or bosses that they might have to spend hour and hours and weeks and weeks of time trying to complete and beat, which would require proper knowledge of builds, weapon sets, and combat mechanics. Content that would be frustratingly difficult for the most experienced dungeon runners in the game, and which most of the GW2 playerbase would not be able to complete due to their stubborn playhowiwant attitudes rather than actually adapting themselves to the challenge.

You still haven’t answered me? “People” want stuff…what people? How many? What percentage?

If 20% of the population of the game wanted difficult content, would that justify producing it. (Yes I pulled that number out of my kitten, it’s just a hypothetical question).

I’m pretty sure there are some veteran players, may even a big percentage of them that don’t play games to be challenged. Some people play games to relax.

And we don’t really know those percentages. But I suspect that there are more people who want something to do that isn’t particularly challenging. That’s my guess.

Anet knows how many people attempted and beat Liadri for example. It based on that, they decided not to put a huge amount of that content in the game. That’s my guess.

Out of the people I ever talked to in the game who have been playing for over 2 years, majority(I don’t know, 80%) wants new content badly. There are people who are happy with grinding gold. There are people who are happy with doing dungeons 24/7. There are people who are happy/obsessed with doing every single achievement there is. I don’t really think this should count as “content”. Is it a causal game, or a game for hardcore gamers? I thought it’s going in the casual direction. Then a way to go would be adding new stuff to do, right? Not new gear to grind for. I feel like this game has some sort of identity crisis.
Personally I’m happy with the new map and with the new carapace/luminescent armour, but it doesn’t change the fact that there’s still not that much to do. Not for people who don’t want to repeat the same notion over and over again.

A good start would probably be enabling SAB. I’m not sure why they turned it off in the first place. Maybe it has something to do with the prizes. (But those can be made much more expensive)

And of course there are (god forbid!) vets that still enjoy the game despite how much so many others seem to hate it. We think its just fine without open world pvp, open world dueling, mounts, and the like.

Sure, we’d like some more maps. Maybe something along the lines of FoW or UW added to the game. But we don’t think it’s the end of world. Like a lot of people seem to think it is.

Don’t you feel like MMORPGs should entertain you(as a player) for years? :I

They entertain me for as long as they entertain me. Why plan on something doing anything for years? Too much commitment. Too much pressure. For something that is supposed to simply be “fun.”

The only thing I “plan” on for “years” is working and paying taxes. That, unfortunately, just doesn’t end until I’m old enough to retire (ha ha good joke) or I die. Whichever comes first.

What matters is that GW2 entertains me now, and it will for the foreseeable future. Of course, if I opt to go play something else because the whim takes me, I can. It will still be right here waiting when I come back. May I need to pay for a few LS patches? Sure, but really that’s not any different (to me) than having to buy the latest expansion to other games if I walk away from them and come back later on.

I don’t play GW2 like its a job. Like it’s something I have to commit to every day. If I get bored, I take a few days off. If I log on and discover I just don’t feel like playing, I go do something else. Its probably because of this casual approach that I’m not bored senseless with the game. I have played games (looking at you WoW) where I did have to treat the game like it was a second job. Where I had to log in every day, and I had to commit part of my life to it. Guess what, after 7 months, I couldn’t stand it anymore. I played GW1 not quite as casually as I play GW2, but same concept. It wasn’t / isn’t a job and I still play it because of that. I have more than 40 characters in GW1, and 16 thus far in GW2. As causally as I play, I have no trouble “losing” 8 hours to the game and not have a clue where all the time went. But hey, that’s just me.

You play it casually and yet you have 16 characters? How does that work? I have 11 and I play it almost every day with monthly breaks here and there.
I’m not sure where the rest of the information came from, as I didn’t really ask for nor say any of those things. I’m a bit confused there.
What I meant is – if it’s an mmorpg, it should keep the majority of players busy for years. With Guild Wars 2, it just seems like there’s not that much to do…and I’m slightly worried that adding some new gear to grind for won’t help it much. I’m sure/I hope that more casual players can still enjoy it, but I was hoping for more.
This game has a huge potential. It would be foolish not to ask the devs for more and help them go in the right direction. Hence threads like this one. It’s not perfect, there are things to improve. Majority of my friends from 2 years ago didn’t log in since. For me it seems like this game doesn’t have that much to keep you going atm. Maybe it’s just me though. (And hundreds of other vets making these topics on the forums)

I feel like they’re trying, but they focus so much on mindless grind that they forgot how to make things fun. The most enjoyable thing in the recent patch thus far is running around the Silverwastes looking for chests to open. I’m not kidding. It’s the most fun thing in the game right now for me. Maybe that was their goal though.

Oh and I like the map in general. It’s a bit harder to stay alive.

Guild Wars 2 is tame in comparison to just about every other MMO on the market. The female outfits aren’t that revealing at all. I’m all for more customization so if they add skimpy male outfits I’d have no qualms with that. I just think that people focus on the skimpy outfits for females too much when in reality, there are plenty of outfits that aren’t revealing as well.

Also, on the subject of breasts and visible skin; There’s nothing wrong with it and I really dislike the way you’ve stated it as though there is. Maybe I’m just misinterpreting things but anyone who thinks it’s not okay to like looking at half naked women is an idiot. We’re all human beings and we all enjoy s?x, ain’t nothing wrong with liking boobs and d?ck.

I wasn’t implying there was anything wrong with skin or boobs being shown, the point I was trying to get across was that I believe Anet are biased when it comes to showing skin/abs/muscles/anything revealing for males (you only need to see the amount of revealing skin there are for females, compared to males – the ratio is far from equal). To clear up the misinterpretation: I’m ALL for more skin being revealed (more male skimpy please :P) – it’s why I made this thread!

Heck, I remember in GW1 days when we had that assassin elite exotic armor. What happened to stuff like that? I feel Anet are being super conservative when it comes to males :-(

I think anet is more conservative than other MMORPGs in general, which I’m actually grateful for. Except – orrian heavy armour used to look amazing on females. I started doing Orr runs just to get it, but they “fixed”. Now it just looks sad. I know it doesn’t look like much, but it is.

Btw.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-demand-more-skimpy-male-armour/first
It’s been said. =( I don’t think anet plans on adding any new FREE armour at all. The carapace seems like a one-time thing.

Yes, there are far more skimpy female armours in the game. I’m sorry if you feel like they should have the same exact number for their customers. I don’t mean to sound sexist, but I’m pretty sure that most of the players are straight males. So it sort of makes sense to me.
It would be nice to have an option to hide any part of the armour. I already made a topic like this. I don’t know if we need more skimpy armour for males though. We already have these. (Attachments)
The majority of light armours for males is insanely feminine. I’m pretty sure those were designed for female players. If we speak about lack of skimpy male armour, how about light armour which wasn’t designed for yaoi characters? Some heavy armours which don’t look like a bunch of spikes would be nice as well. Not to mention current issues we have with some races. (Like male/female armour for charrs looking the same etc.)

Nope, that glitch can happen to eternity too, it actually changes the color to bluish purple its hard to see because sunrise is already blue, but compare sunrise to that color you cannot get it unless you your sword turns purple. look inside the reflection of the sky its purple, and Eternity doesn’t have purple sky. only blue. lol

So what are your thoughts on fight with this creature in your living story?

For me it was very frustrating. I appreciate anet trying to add some challenge, but it seemed a ‘bit’ cheap to me. It would be nice to have a warning before each mission, like “this fight will be extremely long, unfair and repetitive”.
(I say unfair because it’s a new monster – it attacks with a series of vines that randomly pull you from any place on the ‘stage’. And everything seems to take almost half of your HP)
Do not fight it without stability buffs. Do not.
I feel really bad for casual players and people with defensive builds…

I’m not sure how that works. I just don’t understand. Emoticons are supposed to add to the conversation. Why is “I’m fine” better than “I’m fine”? Especially if the first one can be miss-interpreted as something bad? If you add a simple smile, you can change the tone of your entire sentence.

About the idea. It would have to be designed in such a way so it wouldn’t punish people who prefer to be dead. Sounds funny, I know, but whenever I die I find myself laying on the ground and singing just for the fun of it while hoping someone passing by will ress me.
I’m not sure if it’s best to just automatically WP the people who are dead and afk for say…1 minute, or if some kind of voting system would be a good idea.

Perhaps the easiest solution would be…setting boss’s strenght(not HP) according to the LIVING players around him? It might still be a bit long to kill, but it won’t deal unfair insane damage.

Could we please have temples fixed? It’s been like this for ages.

1. You sit around with a bunch of people waiting for an event to happen.
2. You pray and hope that no one feels like actually doing it, so it fails.
3. You kill the boss.

I don’t really get it. It doesn’t fit in any way into the game. Sure it makes sense logically – you’ve protected the temple, so there’s no way a big bad guy will take it over, but it also makes no sense in general. You get better rewards for essentially betraying your “allies” and failing an event. Additionally, wasn’t Guild Wars 2 meant to be this casual non-stressful game made in such a way that players won’t hate eachother? Well temples designed this way tell a different story.

We literally just didn’t get to kill Dwayna (I’ve waited for 20 minutes) because some people felt like killing the champion.
It’s not really their fault for playing the game, but I still don’t get why it’s like that in the first place.

About the emotes : I suggest we start first by implementing all the missing emotes from GW1.

You know stuff like /bored /yawn /taunt /flex and so on….

I would love those. =) There could be multiple Drama Guides/Tomes.

How about a Charr mount for my Asura.

I proposed that some time back in the german forum when we were talking about backpacks. Charr get an asura-backpack and Asura a Charr-mount. Everyone benefits (well beside a few bookah).

That seems wrong to me for some reason. XD
Well Charr could ride a cow. Asura could ride some kind of golem(which they do already) only cuter. Humans could ride horses. Sylvari could ride sylvari hounds. Norns could ride…kegs. :I

I’m playing as a mesmer norn and I agree with OP. Levels 1-10 are alright. 11-15 drags a little. 16-30 are a nightmare to me. Changing the way trait system works would probably help.
The only good thing about NPE is how easy it is to level at 1-10, the dodging tutorial and level rewards. Other than that, it’s pretty tedious.

Leveling was fun. Frustrated by Endgame.

Each race and each class feels completely different. Perhaps you would enjoy other aspects of the game on another characters like Hattoni have mentioned.
I’m not sure. I really enjoy jumping puzzles and I used to hate them. I guess it’s a matter of getting used to the controls? Maybe you should try PvP. It can be fun. =)

Why do threads like these get immediate attention by anet but then other threads with serious issues get ignored

Devs are human too. Give them a cookie once in a while. They’re doing what they can. =)

Also shush! Go away with your negativity! This topic is quaggan friendly!

Weapon Hue Changer

I think there is a very big problem with this, and that is the possibility of making complete clown overlords become a reality in guild wars. but overall great idea I’d enjoy a glowing silver Bonetti’s Rapier

custom dungeon

I don’t like the custom dungeon complex idea because, there will be a ton of curation required, and we won’t know if custom dungeons are balanced or fair at all.

The Chest

idea is impractical, and would litter maps with random dedicated chests, if you want to know lock chest cluttering maps and ruining gaming expeirences look towards minecraft. Mail Box system works fine as is, and distributing items should be easier with guild banks.

Armor/weapon names

Armor and Weapon names, this is an easy avenue for trolls to abuse the naming system as is. But Anet seriously needs to improve their armor naming system.

Drama Guide

Aww that would be a sweet addition to the game

I understand your concerns, but I’m a bit confused about your opinion on the chests. We already have chests in the game, they are called Boxes of’ Fun and people don’t litter them all over the world. Why? Because they are rare and expensive and it’s best to keep those for groups of people. I don’t really see much difference between those. =)

And with the hue changer, I didn’t mean something as strong as the one for entire characters. (Refractors&Hylek Potions) Those are a bit too ‘harsh’ for weapons if you ask me.

Read this response:

*If you want to search for a topic, use plain old Google, it works…that’s how I found the response above.

I did not know that. I’ll use google in the future. =)

So how much crying and economy impact would this have?
I’m all about non-RNG precursors but where do we draw the line?

If say today we make a recipe for each precursor that currently costs 500G for instance, wouldn’t said materials needed inflate greatly in price? wouldn’t actual precursors drop in price?

It’s a hard line to thread to be honest

Perhaps we should use mostly items that require karma, skillpoints and laurels to get them. That way we have to earn our precursor. =)

Here’s a list of things/ideas that I think would make the game more fun for most players. For the most part, they seem pretty easy to implement!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Drama Guide/Tome]
For 600 gems, you can learn using 6 completely new emotes:
- Hug (characters need to stand close to eachother)
- Poke (character pokes another player with a stick; or with finger in the forehead)
- Ashamed (character sits ‘in the corner’ like on time-out)
- Charge (character raises its weapon in the air)
- Kiss (character sends a friendly kiss)
- Proud (character proudly presents its armour while smiling)
Hug only requires the user to have it bought.
GW1 emotes would be more than welcome as well. <3
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
[Weapon Name Contract/Weapon Branding]
For 100 gems, it allows you to re-name any weapon crafted by you except for legendaries.
Or for 800 weapons teaches you to leave an ‘autograph’ on any weapon you ever craft.
(Name dissappears upon selling the weapon on trading post; it’s okay to send it by mail)
[Armour Name Contract/Armour Branding]
Same as above, only 50 gems cheaper. (Total of 300 gems for the entire set)
I like this idea mostly because it allows you to send gifts to your friend, that could actually mean something. Nowadays exotic weapons don’t have nearly as much worth as they used to. =)
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
[Weapon Hue Changer/More Original Name]
These would work slightly like dyes that would slightly alter the hue of the chosen weapon. The could cost 100-200 gems per dye. Or maybe the Laurel Merchant would sell those as well. I just think it would be another step in making the character customization more fun. =)
We already have the refractors in the game, so this is totally possible.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
[Custom Chest Thingy/More Original Name]
This would allow you to put up to 5 items inside a chest in your inventory. You would then be able to spawn the chest wherever you like for up to 1 hour. This would make guild events etc. easier to make/host. For example – putting the chest on the end of some jumping puzzle.
Not sure how useful it is considering mailbox is an option, but who knows. =)
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
[Custom Dungeon Thingy/More Original Name]
Now this idea is much more complex than the other ones, that’s why it’s last. We already have mechanic that allows the players to set up turrets etc.
Creating a custom dungeon should be possible. I’m not sure if it fits in the game lore-wise at all, but I imagine some contests would profit a lot from it. Not to mention that you could make your very own – newbie training grounds, as well as challenge your friends to beat your dungeon.
This could cost around 800-1600 gems a ‘pack’. I think some kind of custom portal would be needed as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hope you like these. =)

So you want a weapon that is so rare that it currently trades for 1,300g to be able to be crafted for 56g?

Do you really need anyone to explain why that recipe is not even remotely realistic?

56g? I suppose you’ve counted the cost of most of the ingredients I’ve listed as an example? Karma is a currency as well. Might not be worth much to you, but it does take time and effort to get. Same goes for skillpoints.

Crafted Precursors would/should be account bound only… solves any market issue

When is it going to happen? Soon or Never

That is…actually a good idea. It would probably solve most issues.

If we could have mounts only for asthetic purposes, that would be enough in my opinion. We already have brooms and carpets, so why not adding something moving on the ground? Perhaps it makes things hard to animate, I’m not sure.

Does anyone know why isn’t it implemented yet? After waiting a long time for Scavenger Hunt, nothing happened. Now we have ascended items, but still no precursor crafting options. I’m a bit confused. Adding a few recipes doesn’t seem like a lot of work to do. Why isn’t it in the game yet? Did anet say anything on the matter?

Example – Spark [Mystic Forge]
100x Obsidian Shard
5x Deldrimor Steel Ingot
10x Vision Crystal
10x Charged Lodestone
