Before the patch i could set them to HIGH, now only appears low and medium, how can i get them back to high though?

What do you mean? Did the option dissappear from your option menu, or are you saying that your game is considerably more laggy after the patch? Because the latter may be explained by plenty of players logging in. I would think it’s impossible to play on High while in labirynth with a zerg. I’m not sure though.

Dear Anet we’ve seen that you are capable with the system used to acquire Mawdrey, can we have a bit less lottery, raffle and rng fest and some meaningful content where we work for a goal that is certain?
As a player with over 2k hours and no precursors or any drop worth 15g in that time. I much prefer to play content that will reward me at completion.
So please keep it mind for the next content release?!
Thanks

I personally found Mawdrey creation to be highly frustrating. At first it was fun, but then there was a time wall, then another one…
Can we haz less grind in the future patches as well?

So some people want to work towards their goal while others feel that working process is a grind. Go figure.

Work towards a goal? The process of making Mawdrey:
- Grind geodes for recipes and claypot, or grind gold to buy them
- Grind some more gold for the ingredients, because actually looking for them takes more time, effort and is frustrating.
- Craft one part of the Mawdrey each day, for 7 days. (fun)
- Combine Mawdrey in the mystic forge with few ingredients that actually didn’t require grinding. (surprisingly)
- Repeat either until you ragequit, get poor, or someone lets you know how it’s not even worth doing
- Make sure to grind some more gold to get your crafting to level 500, in case you want an ascended Mawdrey.

Yeah, SOOO MUCH WORK put into this. I can feel all of the joy…
Yes, I’m being sarcastic. That’s not how working on things should be.
The only enjoyable part of creating Mawdrey for me, was the process of gathering ingredients and upgrading them. (Like Vial of Oasis Water etc.)

You know what would be funny?
If the Reaper of Souls was NOT the intended item, but rather has been there for forever, but no one had discovered it yet?

Reaper of Souls has been there since launch.

Evidence: its item id is included in the block of weapons that can be produced by the forge, which are all in one block in the API.

So if you feel lucky, grab another scroll ;D

The proof is of it existing. It doesn’t prove anything else. We don’t know if the recipe wasn’t added just now. Unless devs stated that clearly somewhere.

Obviously, I can’t pretend that I didn’t play this game before.
Even so, I still feel like it could be useful to the developers and maybe some veterans who are harshly against the latest changes.
So, here’s what I think about the current leveling up system, after testing it(level 1-18):

- Levels 1-10 were incredibly fast and fun to do.
- Heart quests, even though simplified in some cases, were really rewarding and worth doing.
- Rewards for leveling up were satisfying most of the time.
- The lack of skills and weapons didn’t bother me much until level 15 or so, mostly due to quick leveling.
- The dodging tutorial seems useful, and should reward a person with an achievement and possibly with some other small reward. (Like one Unidentified Dye)
- All the tutorials and tips seem useful.
- Limitations of early levels highly confuse new players.
- Some explanation of the unlockables should be put in the game. Possibly a list of things you will unlock each level.
- Leveling slows greatly after level 10 or so. At this point the combat seems to be lacking.
- Traits should be unlockable from level 10 or 15 up, so the players may experiment and have fun with it.
- New players seem to be confused about not getting skillpoints each level.
- Restrictions regarding vistas, waypoints, rally etc. seem unnecessary and confuse players further.
- The tutorial is often “late”, as players ask for things that didn’t have a chance to be explained yet, like vistas.
- Players don’t know anything about daily achievements, the tip about completing them should be added.
- Players don’t know the basic GW2 functions, such as “deposit all collectibles”, “disable double tap”, “aoe loot” etc.
- New players often aren’t interested in crafting. A tutorial should be placed explaining its benefits and basics.
- Players often ask about dungeons long before level 30. A tutorial or information should be added describing them.
- Leveling Rewards should allow players to choose stats at some point, like level 20 or higher.
- New players still have very little gold. Hearts and events should be far more rewarding when it comes to that.
- Karma tutorial should be added to the game. Just as it should be added for other currencies.
- Tutorials describing attributes should be added, as newbies often find it confusing.
- I feel like the story missions should be available from the beggining.

That’s all for now. These changes weren’t as bad as I thought, but they still could use some more work.
It’s just my opinion and my experience, but I must say it was pretty fun! =)

btw. I know these things because I often talk to/help out newbies and I’ve heard similar things many, many times.

I think it’s about time, that quaggans realize what potential they have in battle. They have been pushed around by dragon’s minions. They’ve been bullied and harrassed by kraits! But no more! Those little noodles must have some kind of geniuses amongst them. Ones able to create some sort of armour~!

I just think it would be amazing to have something like this. Many of us love quaggans, and another stat combination will surely be appreciated!

Stats: Vitality + Power + Healing Power
or
Stats: Vitality + Power + Condition Damage

or…since we already crossed the line of being limited to only 3 components, it could be…
Stats: Healing Power + Vitality + Condition Damage + Power
or, it could be a newbie-friendly armour type, like
Stats: 25% more experience from monsters, Vitality, Power
or we could go even further and make it a “joke” armour:
Stats: Knockbacks/Pushbacks/Knockdowns are 100% stronger(Also affects the user), A chance to scream “CoooOOooo~!” when gaining might, Reviving and being revived is 25% faster, 10% increased swimming speed.

If not, please give us some kind of quaggan-like skin! I don’t mean making them out of quaggans by the way! That would be evil! Hear that, John?! EVIL!

Yes, I am serious. No, I don’t want to get banned. =(

With our current, highly advanced Lag System, I’m surprised it’s not in the game already. Mesmers should be able to play around with time, so I think this sort of ability would fit them the most:

Lag Warp
Freeze the time for 5 seconds, allowing you to move freely, while all of the entities visible shake uncontrollably for no reason.

It’s actually in the game already. You can beta-test this skill in Labirynth (with any class, currently). All the developers need to do, is put it in as an actual skill and make sure that you actually stay in the place you moved to while the Lag Warp was active.

(This topic is meant as a joke, although I would appreciate less laggy labirynths).

This is something that we had considered in the past, but opted against because it unfairly works against lapsed players who want to ask what’s changed since they last played and players like Pixelpumpkin who may, for personal reasons, be unable to log into the game, but still want to interact with the forums and stay up to date on the game.

It’s also worth pointing out that some people use claims of quitting the game as an attention-getting tactic, when in fact they are still quite active. Putting in this type of restriction would just push those people to claim they only log in to keep their forum privileges active.

This is really your attitude towards your customers?

Thanks for being honest, at least.

I think you have a personal axe to grind, I see no problem with them wanting to allow anyone that has purchased the game and had an active account to continue to post on the forums. Also, as Pixelpumpkin pointed out above, they were unable to log into the game for 2 months due to personal reasons…just what exactly do you see as their attitude towards their customers anyways…other than being accommodating.

I don’t know, it sounds kind of cold, don’t you think? Kind of explains few of the latest updates.

1) It usually takes around 5-10 seconds to be able to sell, after getting that message. Most of your items should be stored in your Collectible tab in your bank. If you go to your inventory(i) and click on that cog icon in the top right corner of it, and then pick “Deposit All Collectibles”, it will automatically put all of your crafting materials in that tab. There’s no need to sell everything to Black Lion Trading Guy right away. It’s best to gather some and do it from time to time to avoid wasting time. All the items that won’t go to your Collectibles, are okay to sell. Except for the gear you need and some rare items you might find.

2)You should start crafting right away. It can be fun to discover new things and make your own armour/weapons. It was really satisfying the first time I did it. Keep in mind that discoveries give you way more experience.

3)Save those to buy Traits in case you won’t be able to complete one of the requirements to unlock them. Skillpoints will be handy sooner or later. Either that, or keep them for your future legendary weapon.

4)Go ahead and fool around with traits until you find the build of your dreams. You can reset them at any time for free.

5)Best to uncover the maps, it will come in handy eventually. Also listen to what ArcTheFallen told you. =)

If you will have any future questions, simply whisper me in the game.

…W…what? Easiest? Are you kidding? Please tell me, that you’re kidding.

For a non-combat orientated character? yes. You want to go swimming with icebrood? Or perhaps you want to walk into the firestorm?

The creatures on that island are the most deadly monsters in the game. They’re one of the few mobs that have unique attack patterns and pretty high damage. It’s definitely not the easiest, no matter how you look at it. Might not be as populated (at times), but I’ve never had problems exploring the maps you seem to find ‘harder’.

Now, if you mean that it’s easier to run from monsters – maybe, but it highly depends on your build.

Ok so what scroll(s) are there that can be falsified? Or thought of as fake?

Lemark is carrying a cylindrical case, to protect whatever he was trying to steal. And this paticular item is something that was copied and faked, but now he has the original. I am thinking scroll of some sort, but the only other scroll item aside from scrolls of knowledge is the Ancient Scroll focus….

Or the first item might be the Eldtrich Scroll.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Eldritch_Scroll
It’s used to make pretty…‘spiritual’ weapons, I guess?

It costs 50 skillpoints so it’s not that cheap.

Yeah, that seems to be the consenses. But for some reason it doesn’t seem to fit. But I could just be over tinfoiling it…

So that would mean we are with Eldritch Scroll(s) and Mystic coins. “Two blocks to go” could actually mean, as John said, that only 2 items have been hinted at/acquired and that he only has 2 more to get.

My bet is still on Elonian Wine though! It’s Zommoros’s favourite. It’s from Elona(heritage), it’s powerfull in high quantities…too many clues that fit imo.

Perhaps the first two items are simply:

- Gift of Ascalon

Though I’m sure why would there be a mention of “real thing” if that was the case.
Which means that it’s probably something really rare. Something with its own, unique name.
Sadly, I’m not sure what…

edit 3 (in story form): Lemark wasn’t much of a haggler. the merchant had taken almost every copper he owned, but it was worth it. He was positive this time, no more fakes, no more copies, forgeries or lies, this was it. He could feel it, sinister…ghostly, it felt weird to hold, but he didn’t care, his journey was one quarter complete.

Posting this as a refresher for the first item^

I know someone mentioned glob of ectoplasm. I think that would fit the description. Though it’s also problematic in that there’s no mention of quantity and one glob isn’t worth that much.

We of course have the Ghostly Doubloon theory, but I don’t think that combines with most MF mats (Coins, Wine, Crystals, etc.).

I don’t think it’s about globs. It has to be something really valuable.
“…no more fakes, no more copies, forgeries or lies, this was it…”

Perhaps it’s some sort of Precursor? Black Lion Trader guy could count as merchant easily. The item has great value…

Yes, I caught that and edited my post. :P

As I’ve said, I think the second item is the elonian wine. The bottle reflects light so…there…fixed it for you.

Yes second item is most likely Elonian Wine. Cylindrical, sealed, can see reflection, is favorite of Zomorros.

First item is still harder to figure out.

The issue is that a bottle of Elonian Wine is not trivial by itself, and in numbers is not powerful.

While it is a favorite of Zomorros, so are Mystic Coins and Mystic Crystals – even Mystic Stones, I think. But amongst them, only Mystic Coins are used in good numbers.

And Duncanmix:

The first item is the cylindrical and sealed one.

The second item can reflect, is useful only in numbers, and is a favorite of Zomorros.

What do you mean? It is powerful in numbers. Have 5 bottles of wine and tell me how do you feel. =P

edit 5:
Lemark was in high spirits, it had been a productive week. After a series of failures his luck had turned. He stared at his own reflection in the item, such a trivial thing by itself, but with many, there was power. Zomorros knew it as well, Lemark had seen the desire in his eyes before, this was one of his favorites.

So now we have:

  1. An expensive “ghastly” item.
  2. A cyllindrical item that’s sealed.
  3. A heritage-but-common item that gives a reflection. (at least, I presume the “series of failures” nods back to the failed thievery attempt)

I’m guessing:

  1. Eldritch Scroll (ghastly, expensive with 50 skill points)
  2. Elonian Wine (cyndrical, sealed)
  3. Bloodstone Dust/Brick (“such a trivial thing by itself, but with many, there was power” – most likely not shard, since it’s not trivial by itself and not entirely common)

John clarified that he’s only tipped us onto 2 of the items, so the description for item #3 is part of either #1 or #2

I don’t understand it really. Arena net only do things that the community DOES NOT want, but when most people want something to be changed, they won’t listen.

This. I have no idea why, but looking at the latest patches, I feel like they’re doing these things to purposely annoy their customers?
I don’t think that’s their intent, but we seem to be getting things that we do not want, while things we do want aren’t being implemented.

For example:
- They got rid of town clothes and turned some into tonics. I don’t see ANY pros of this decision.
- Tonics are useless, as they don’t allow you to use Utility Skills while fighting.
- With their latest patch, they made Gem Store much worse when it comes to exchanging gold for gems.
- They deleted “Sclerite Weapons” from the Black Lion Weapon Guy.
- They added outfits, which aren’t nearly as customizable as we’d like them to be.

I don’t understand that. It’s like they don’t think these things through or something.

You could have gotten a refund for gemstore townclothes after that patch. It was well-publicised. I think there was a time-limit on it, though. Sometime in June, iirc. Wouldn’t hurt to still try a support ticket, though.

You can also sell the tonics on the TP. The gemstore ones go for a couple of gold.

I did ask for a refund at that time. I’m not sure if I did it on time though, might’ve been too late by a few days or so. =(

- Went back to the previous town clothes system, in which these were actually useful to anyone.
- Give me some kind of option to sell it/craft it for/into something?

I don’t really like it wasting my bank space, but in the same time I don’t want to throw away the gems I put into the game.
Cheers~

Yeah, bro. Yesterday 100 gems cost about 14 G. Now it is 21 G, and still rising. Guess it’s because people want to try the new gem exchange and that’s what drives the price up.

Well that’s depressing =( guess my Noble Count outfit will have to wait~

Didn’t it cost around 90-100g to buy 800 gems just a week or so ago? What happened?

A 1 second stun bonus should be added to every outfit that shows cleavage. Just for realism…

A Sincere Thanks!
