You shouldn’t post it here because "Accusing any player, guild, or server of cheating, griefing, hacking, or exploiting is not allowed on the forums. If you witness any of these acts while playing, please report them using the in-game ticketing system so our Customer Support team can properly investigate the issue. " as some moderator said while deleting similar topic posted by me. By the way, I doubt you can actually report it, because they only have “verbal abuse” to choose from, really. And if you will be wrong, your account will get punished instead.

Also sucks for you. Hugs.

Additionally, I’d like to point out, that even the heaviest real life greatsword didn’t weight more than 4kg. It’s not much, is it?

And if you mean that there’s some sort of lack of impact – you’re wrong. My Charr guardian with mace strikes like a maniac just with simple auto-attacks.

Personally I’m happy it only requires 2 people to kick someone out of a dungeon/fractal. I’ve been doing duns multiple times with people who wouldn’t cooperate, which in return would get us killed and waste everyone’s time. Luckily, playing with friend, we were able to kick those people out. I remember kicking one of them right before the final boss in Ascalonian Catacombs. The satisfaction of kicking him out right before him getting his reward was amazing. We actually did better without him.

In your case – I feel bad for you. This thing shouldn’t be abused like that.

It seems to be different from mob to mob, but I guarantee you that if you use toughness gear, you will notice a huge difference. You CAN be a tank, at least in some situations. I don’t know about Teq’s minions.

Yoroiookami.3485

It’s not a class thing, or a damage thing, but the variance you’re seeing is very real.

As far as I can tell when you roll a toon it is randomly assigned a luck “seed” that makes for its base luck, and then you’re MF piles on top of (or maybe underneath) that seed.

So it is entirely possible to have one toon be extremely unlucky, and another extremely lucky. You hear stories of people getting Dusk twice on the same Arah run, while I do not have first hand experience a friend of mine was on a run with someone who did (could the guy have been lying through his teeth? technically yes there is the possibility).

My own experiments support the possibility however. I put two of my toons at the end of the same JP for just under two months and opened the chest with each every day. The results were pretty drastic.
~90% of the time my warrior got 2 greens, and 2 gemstones/crests
~90% of the time my ele got only 2 greens
The warrior also got 1 exotic and about 6/7 rares
The Ele? Nothin but green
A small sample size to be sure, but added to the experiments of friends of mine (with a lot more money to throw at it) indicate very strongly that different characters have different amounts of luck outside the account bound MF.
It also indicates that whatever anet might say about MF affecting chests/bags/other loot sources, it does affect at least some of them (or at least the luck seed does)

As a second example, in the pavilion, comparing my Guardian and Engie.
Opening roughly 100 champ bags each my Engie got 8 exotics and about 12 rares.
My guardian? 1 rare.

People can quote anet all they like, but for how long did we tell them MF was broken with them swearing up and down everything was perfectly fine only to find out….oh, no it wasn’t perfectly fine? Honestly I don’t really trust them to know what does and doesn’t work the way they think it does, not anymore.

My friend(firsthand) crafted 2 precursors in mystic forge in the same day. It was one of her first tries too. And she did that by putting random rares in it. Sooo lucky. x3

If it was damage dealt then a lot more people would be getting precursors as there would be a guide for how to deal enough damage to the right boss to get a precursor out of it.

That’s probably true. Though why not assume that precursors are a completely seperate thing? They sure have a much lower drop rate than other exotics. I wouldn’t give them the same rarity just because their quality is called ‘exotic’.

Hi! I’ve noticed that whenever I kill a world boss such as Tequatl or Karka Queen, I get loot depending on the class I’m using. I have multiple level 80 characters, and usually it goes like this:

- If I kill Karka Queen with my Engiee, I get “Exotic Settler’s Inscription of Blahblah”
- If I kill Karka Queen with my Guardian(I think it was), sometimes I get some kind of trinket with Settlers stats

- If I kill Tequatl with my Guardian(and it happened multiple times) I usually get Fang of Tequatl or that other accessory
- If I kill Tequatl with my Engiee, I get only greens
- If I kill Tequatl with my Warrior(or other class, I don’t remember clearly), sometimes I get breathers
- If I kill Tequatl with anything else, I’m basically guaranteed to get “Rune of the Sunless”.

It just doesn’t…really sound random to me. My engiee got Settler’s Inscription thingy 4th time in a row. Anyone else noticed anything similar?

I really hate you now… You have to have some really good luck to get exotics and stuff all the time. That or my account along with thousands of other players are just at the lower end of RNG like 1 – 10 rolls compared to those who get ascended and exotic drops all the time getting 70 – 100 rolls lol.

Don’t want to burst your bubble but those exotics aren’t worth much(they are like 60s now) and I only dropped an ascended from tequatl once after around 40-50 tries. XD Runes of the Sunless are dirty cheap and Settler’s Inscription has stats I don’t need. Though I do realize there’s always worse loot out there…

About the damage thingy – it was an example. I don’t know how much damage you have to deal. But it is known that damage is the only factor that grants you loot and completed events. Trust me, I’ve played as a low level healing-guardian multiple times. At level 50 I was able to survive teq and even though I helped out many many people and used conjured weapons, I still either received bad rewards or nothing at all. x/

Loot is directly indirectly linked to your class.

You will get more loot on a guardian than a mesmer, for example, assuming you are playing properly.

But that pretty much only applies to farming mobs rather than farming events.

In terms of metaevents, the damage you do will influence if you should be considered part of the loot threshold.

For example, an elementals attuned to water will more than likely have more lootless encounters than a GS/AXE warrior.

I should also note that these rules only apply to Mloot from MOBS. Tequatl is not defined as a mob, as his corpse (technically there is no corpse) does not drop loot, but his loot comes from a chest. The credit for a chest has no bearing on class but as long as you participated in some way in the event.

Karka Queen is a mob, and you may miss out on it’s corpse loot. However, you should be getting a big physical chest and a daily chest.

If you miss out on loot for tequatl, then you either didn’t participate properly, you reached your daily limit, or it’s bugged (though that has never happened to me)

Same with Karka

But any insinuation that specifically classes get specific loot I think is unfounded

Thanks for your viewpoint. Maybe there is some kind of damage threshold that gives you specific loot, like:
5 000 damage dealt&less – nothing
20 000 damage deatl&less – inscriptions
50 000 damage dealt&less – exotics
100 000 damage dealt&less – ascended
etc.

This is an assumption, but it makes sense to me. After all this game is based around damage dealt.

No – it is random. What is your %MF like as that will tell us more.

I don’t really trust you saying something like “no – it is random” without any argument behind it. Also, MF only affects direct loot from monsters(and it usually just gives you more greens), not chests. I’m talking about chests.

Rly, what do you think they do? Giving certain classes advantages through secretly buffing their MF ratio? Are you kidding me?

As I just said, MF has nothing to do with chest loot. No, I am not kidding you.

How many times have you done those events on those classes?

If your answer is not in the numbers of at least several hundred for each class and without having the exact drops you got for them, it’s not a large enough sample to prove that RNG is tied to classes.

And your OP didn’t mention the chests specifically. You just said RNG is tied to classes and gave some examples. For all Dusty Moon knew you were referring to the loot that comes from the boss as well as the chest.

And I can flip a coin 100 times and it land on heads 100 times. It would be extremely unlikely, but still possible. So it is possible that you’re just lucking into good streaks on some characters and bad streaks on other characters.

It’s a bit weird to assume I meant loot from the bosses themselves after I clearly said that I dropped things like “Fang of Tequatl” and “Settler’s Inscription” multiple times.

And I’m not trying to prove anything, I’m asking others if they had a similar experience. I already had some RNG adventures before, like dropping exactly the same item 3 times while doing the same event(I think it was tequatl). RNG isn’t this perfect randomization system, that’s why I’m asking.

My MF is 160~ and as I’ve said before, it only affects direct loot from monsters.

I don’t think that RNG use your class as parameter for the results, I leveled all classes to 80 and I’ve never seen a drop pattern with different classes.

I see…well, I guess it’s just a coincidence then. _

I think it’s better for everyone to be able to get the items they want.

I said many times I wish I could sell some of the rewards I got to people who actually want them. This is a pretty good compromise.

I’d honestly prefer ability to unbind acc bound stuff and giving it to friends over making limited items unlimited and selling them for ‘cheap’. Granted – those aren’t cheap for completely new players, but 25 laurels isn’t that much. I just feel like anet keeps adding stuff for new players while completely ignoring ‘veterans’.

25 laurels is a minimum of 15 days or about the same amount of time that was available to do most of the original achievements.

Yes, I realize that. Sadly, that’s only part of the issue.

Rouven – Thanks! I’ll check it out!

dkspins – I was using the top on that set with the skirt. I love the sleeves but I dislike how the front of the top looks like the divine powers of doublesided tape is the only thing keeping it on. GREAT coloring job by the way!

Lilith Ajit – The incarnate top totally looks like a bathing suit top – just wish we had cute bathing suit bottoms! I like the boots but I wish they stopped at the ankles without having the weird sock things. The shoulders are nice and low key.

Farewell GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Yoroiookami.3485

I agree with most of things OP said, sadly.

I didn’t like the last couple of living stories(the entire Scarlet thing was a chore for me…though character itself was awesome). I didn’t like the new enemies they added (cheap enemies that either put a number of conditions on you with each attack, constantly stun you or launch you or have a spike damage out of this world). I didn’t like the rewards from those living stories(ugly helmet, ugly shoulderguard, another ugly helmet, ugly backpiece, uglier backpiece).
I’m meh about the trait change, though the ability to change your build at any time is awesome.
I also really dislike what they did to town clothes and tonics.

Some other things also bother me, of course, but the list is pretty long. If I worked for anet I would gladly take care of stuff connected with roleplay. It brings community together, and allows them to chill out after hours of raging on map chat.

Anet usually listens to the customers, so I doubt that posts like these are pointless. Perhaps after few of those, they will decide to change things.
I, for one, would love to see a new region, a new class or a new race. I would love to play with those bird-people, however they are called.

I like what anets does in general. It clearly cares about the community…but it just seems like it doesn’t focus on the most important things. Who cares about one skill being buggy or one class having 40 too much healing from a signet, when there’s not really enough to do for some of us?
I have 11 characters right now, because I love customization. I love making new chars, new builds, picking new personal story options, checking what I missed. Content like dungeons and living story frustrates me, but that’s just my personal preference.

What I would love to see in the game:
- more emotes
- more options to ‘fool around’
- new race
- new class
- new region
- new jumping puzzles (I love those)
I personally care about this stuff the most. It’s for things like these I spend so much time in Guild Wars 2. I don’t like all the zering, nor dungeons.

I realize it takes time and lots of work to add new content, but it’s far more important(imo) than some silly living story people barely enjoy.
Sorry that you’re leaving, Yoh. Hopefully you will come back when the game has a bit more to offer for you.

I love my norn ele but it’s so hard to find a nice, elegant outfit that looks decent on her. My humans are all decked out but it seems the tailors of Tyria just don’t make clothes to fit my norn’s curves. Most of the armor feels like the designers took the human version and stretched it, causing them to show off weirdly or make her look (heaven forbid!) dumpy. I included a screenshot of one of the worst offenders. It’s so small it’s riding up so her belly button shows in the least flattering way!

Does anyone have any outfit recommendations for a female light armor norn? Any outfits you want to share? I’m looking for elegant but at this point almost anything will do.

I don’t have a picture at the moment but I find the “cabalist” set to be extremely cute and lady-like. It’s not kinky or anything, just really cute. I use it on my norn mesmer.

…Why would they leave the Oakheart as the zone’s “Boss Champ”!?

They should have left either the Legendary Boar (On a timer people are used to, but it would get rid of the train itself), or Centaur Leader of the assault.

Yesterday I had a 2h conversation with people in map chat. That’s not true at all, which is great.

An End to the Queensdale Train

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you anet! I cannot express my gratitude for fixing my favourite map. You found the best possible solution(I think). Now I can finally run around the map like a lunatic without reading hateful comments.
Dwayna bless you!

You could do that before… it’s called turning off map chat. Which, honestly, I don’t know why everyone isn’t doing by default, because most of map chat is obnoxious nonsense.

Well anyway, now that the Queensdale train is no longer running, let’s take a moment to look back and analyze why people were doing it, and what possible implications Anet’s decision to destroy it may have:

Why do people do champ trains?
I would posit that the primary reason for the existence of the champ trains is the tendency of mob mentality to find and take the path of least resistance. But this does not explain why players were drawn to participate in them, rather than doing other, more engaging content. The reason for that, I think, is rather simple: GW2 in NA/EU is stale. Whether Anet likes it or not, without a clearly defined end-game, players are quickly getting bored when they reach max level. After all, if “the end-game starts at level 1” then you’ve likely experienced most of the content by the time you hit 80. And what’s to do then? You could make a new character, but you’ve already done most of the things in the game, and let’s face it, personal story is bland enough once through; doing it again is a mind-numbing chore. So, at a loss for exciting PvE content, but still yearning to have good loot for future play experiences, players found a way to invest their time into getting better gear / making money / leveling new characters, in preparation for the future, when there would hopefully be something else to do.

Also, daily / monthly achievements are usually most quickly accomplished via zerg.

Why Queensdale though?
The only reason I can imagine for the Queensdale train is ease of access, specifically to low-level characters. Before the April 15 update it was a very feasible way to supplement other activities like gathering and crafting for leveling up. After that update, the Queensdale train became much slower for progression, and now it is completely dead.

What does that mean for the zergers?
Well, if the players participating in the champ trains were indeed doing so out of sheer lack of compelling alternatives, then nerfing the champ trains seems a poor decision in the short term, without introducing substantial content to fill the gap that those players were filling with the zerg. Of course, Queensdale was perhaps a necessity; a starter zone really shouldn’t look like that, after all. But I am only left to wonder what those many players will do now, without that to occupy their play time? (once they finish the new LS, that is)

I’m not playing this game to ignore its community. I’m glad what they did with queensdale and I see no reason why they wouldn’t.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you anet! I cannot express my gratitude for fixing my favourite map. You found the best possible solution(I think). Now I can finally run around the map like a lunatic without reading hateful comments.
Dwayna bless you!

Haha…that’s some way of doing it I suppose. XD

I honestly don’t see a problem. Exploring with some classes may take longer than with others, but you have so many ways to travel fast that there’s no need for mounts. They would look nice, yes, but they aren’t neccessary.

Elementalist
- Signet increasing movement speed by 25%.
- Trait increasing movement speed by 0-25% depending on the number of daggers wielded.
- Trait increasing your movement speed by being attuned to air. (I think it still exists)
- Skills such as " Ride the Lightning" that allow you to dash.
Warrior
- Trait increasing your movement speed by 25% while wielding a melee weapon.
- Warhorn shout increasing your movement speed by 33%.
Mesmer
- Teleportation skill.
- Focus skill increasing your movement speed by 25%.
Guardian
- Leap using greatsword.
- Staff skill increasing movement speed by 33%.
Necromancer
- Trait increasing your movement speed by 25% while in Death Shroud.
- Warhorn skill increasing your movement speed by 33%.
- Signet increasing your movement speed by 25%.
- “Spectral Walk”.
Ranger
- Trait increasing your movement speed by 25%.
- Warhorn skill increasing your movement speed by 33%.
- Leap using greatsword.
- Trait granting swiftness whenever [something] happens. (I don’t remember)
Thief
- A bunch of dash skills.
- Signet increasing your movement speed by 25%.
- Teleportation using shortbow.
Engineer
- Elixirs
- “Rocket Jump”
- Trait increasing your movement speed by 25%.

+ Superior Rune of the Traveler (Bonus 25% movement speed)
+ Various speed boosts

I’m sorry but I don’t see any need for adding mounts(unless for asthetics). As you can see it’s not that hard to figure out alternatives. I’m pretty sure I didn’t mention some of the speed boosts out there.

Hi!
Could anyone tell me how to open Guild Wars 2 in window mode and custom resolution?
1366×768 would be perfect.

No red for eyes in character creation?

Or yellow??

Or… other hues that aren’t there??

Is there a particular reason for this?

Because I find “weird” colors for the eye pupils extremely… “appealing”

Although the given colors are already quite pretty, I just wanted to ask.

Thanks!

If you’re looking for ANY way to get red eyes. I’d suggest get you this new Crimson Mask from the gem store. Works very well on most of my characters and adds some kittenery.

Why is someone who’s been playing for 2 years in QD. I really think people make stuff up. Maybe someone who has played for that long doesn’t realize there are other places. I spent alot of time in QD today leveling another toon, and not once during those 2 hours did I see an altercation, harsh words, etc. that would turn a newcomer to GW2 away. All I saw were people lending their experience and advice to new players. Maybe it’s a Megaserver thing, my old server would do just what I saw today. Now, on the other hand, I’ve decided that alot of Megaserver zerg players are total kittens. Not wasting my time rezzing them anymore.

Someone who’s been playing for 2 years is in Queensdale for various reason. I listed most of mine. Helping new players, beautiful sights, interaction with NPCs, dailies, roleplaying with other people and nowadays – train. I’m glad that you had only pleasant experiences with the game and I agree that this game has many less ‘angry people’ than other mmos, but it still exists, and I see it fairly often.

It’s not a megaserver thing, it exists for a long time now. Higher level/more experienced people seem to be more annoying and full of themselves than new ones. Since they added champion loot bags, a huge amount of those people has been doing train in Queensdale, completely ruining this place for me. It’s my personal experience, and it’s also experience of my friends. It’s true that people choose to be rude, but this train thing isn’t helping.

As much as I think it’s inconvenient. Trust me when I say that most of these accounts were stolen. You will end up banning innocent players, because of some greedy people from China. XD
I’m not sure if there’s any simple solution at all. You can always just block bots, it’s not like they are actually following you, making it hard for you to play.

I’m actually finding those to stop the train are worse than the ones within it. Maybe it’s just Tarnished coast.

A newbie ‘ruining’ a train is one thing – It can just move on to the next one, or wait for the champ to respawn. Dedicated attempts to take it down, though, such as organized runs to synchronously take out several champs in a row, are a form of trolling and content deprivation.

And, as it is, it brings high-level players to a low-level zone, giving more support and life to the land. It also builds community.

Low-level players aren’t really threatened by it – there’s too much to draw new people away from the train. The only low-level characters that grind/farm in it are alts of those who have already done all they want with the game.

If Anet wants to fix it, they need to increase loot elsewhere.

Wish it worked like that. XD
I’ve met plenty of people who just started the game and asked for train, wanted to be a part of it and asked me repeatedly for waypoints.
+ while there are some people who like to help, I found that most of them is either raging or really rude and offensive, to newbies too.

What new fun abilities you'd like to use?

[New Weapons]
- Rapiers(Yes, I do realize there’s a rapier skin) and similar thrusting weapons.
for Warriors, Mesmers, Rangers and Thieves
- Scythes(Yes, I realize there are also scythe skins for weapons)
for Warriors, Necromancers and Elementalists

[New Abilities for Existing Weapons and Professions]
- Rifle for Rangers(I think it’s fair; first time playing as a Ranger I was really surprised this isn’t an option)

[New Traits] [Some of these are jokes XD]
Warrior
[Traitorous Blade] – Your attacks have a bonus chance of inflicting poison, weakness or vulnerability. More effective with one-handed weapons.
[Hambow Nerf] – You know you’re good. Too good. In fact, it’s not even a challenge. You decide to give your opponents a fair chance. This trait grants you 10 stacks of bleeding each time you deliver a critical hit, a stun, knockback or knockdown.
Necromancer
[Responsible Motherhood] – You gain 3% bonus vitality for each active minion.
Mesmer
[Tricky Trick] – Decreases cooldown of a random weapon skill with each critical hit that is delivered to you. (2sec cooldown)
Guardian
[Viking Shrooms] – Decreases cooldown of all of your virtues with each critial hit you deliver. (3sec cooldown)
Ranger
[Petting] – Whenever your pet drops below the health threshold, it receives Regeneration. (Health threshold – 50%)
Engineer
[Yarrr!] – You deal 10% more damage while drunk.
Elementalist
[Water Blessing] – Your water skills have a chance of granting Protection to the nearby allies. (30%; 10sec cooldown)
Thief
[Team Spirit] – Each time you grant stealth to yourself or nearby allies, you gain Swiftness, Protection and Regeneration. (10sec cooldown)

What would make you laugh while playing the game?
More roleplay. Definitely. Adding plenty of new emotes. Maybe a costume brawl tournament? That would be pretty fun. Adding some costume-brawling NPCs. A tavern! Huge tavern when players can meet, possibly with some guy telling horrible jokes(like Mad King), cheesy music and drinking contests.

I hope you guys like my weird ideas. These aren’t balanced at all, but I’d love to see them in the game, even as jokes. XD

This. Yes. Please do something to take down this train.

As much as I appreciate a free level farm, it should not exist in the starting area. I’ve been playing for almost 2 years now and since they added champion bags, my favourite map(Queensdale) got full of high level raging children. If you’re in the train yourself, of course you expect one person to wait for the group. However, I don’t think that’s fair to the new players.
See I’ve met some newbies who ACCIDENTLY got attacked by champions and decided to take them down. What followed was a massive rage on map chat, calling these new players noobs, trolls and…other things…to no end. My friend actually changed server because people wouldn’t stop being rude and obnoxious. All she did was, she killed the troll with some other players.
Not only the Queensdale was ruined for the new players(they follow the train, getting the most boring and repetitive experience and not learning how to play; get abused for killing champions on their own), but also to other people, who enjoy the beauty of Queensdale just like I do.
Additionally, I’ve been helping new players for over a year, putting information on the map chat:
“If any newbie needs any help, feel free to whisper me. (Click on my name)”

Guess how many actual new players send me messages? Nowadays most people who whisper me are either bored trolls, or people who ‘test me’ for fun. It stopped being funny a while ago. Of course I blame the train, because otherwise those bored high level players wouldn’t be there.

In other words:
- it’s hurtful to new players
- it’s hurtful to people who want to help
- it’s hurtful for the game itself(grind mixed with lack of learning basics and bad experience)

I’m pretty sure it also hurts anet’s pockets. People often grind both for experience AND exotics, rares and gold. Even after nerfing it, I doubt the drop rate for weapons is lower. I’ve made over 10g in a day of CASUAL queensdale farm, and I’m an unlucky person.

I suggest to change the reward system, so the champions can only drop 1 bag/box a day per character. I think that’s not that unfair, and will definitely stop grinding, at least when it comes to making gold in lower level areas.

This is really starting to annoy me.
