Who could this be…
Why, that’s a nice crown you have there…
I believe that guy is going to help us fight Balthazar.
No, it’ll seem like that at first, but then it’ll turn out he’s actually Lazarus, who was pretending to be a wraith all along to discover who was pretending to be him.
We’ll also discover that Balthazar is really Mr Rogers. You heard it here first.
Honestly, it looked like a slideshow of player toons, demonstrating various weapons/armour.
The jumpy editing and corny opening exposition make it seem like a high-school creative arts project.

I’m not a fan of the original Eir but I do like the blighting pod idea, and it suggests the even more interesting eventuality that the real Eir died but the crew find a surviving clone who has Eir’s memories. Freed of M’s influence she’s now an individual and is trying to figure out her place in the world. She’s not the original Eir. She’s not even Norn but she feels Eir’s desires and motivations, so she joins the crew to fight the dragons and learn about her original. She can’t do beast-form anymore, but now has new abilities and has to learn to use them. Cue subplot about Braham learning to accept his mom/not-mom. Cue another subplot about Caithe becoming a mentor to the now Sylvari-Eir (Seir? Sarah..?) and finding some kind of redemption. Also potential for insights into cross-cultural differences/similarities.
Not an original idea, I know. It’s been done in various shows but I think it could work here, and it would give the team a sympathetic new character with a connection to a popular past character. Then again, if pigs flew and anet decided to actually do something like this they’d probably just kill her one episode later or reveal her to be an imposter because reasons.
Also… how does this prevent the new server from being attacked?
The Anet employee that responded in this very thread…
Ah, I see. For those of us who haven’t read back to page 2, it seems Gaile wrote these posts:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Auto-Loot-Dosen-t-work-on-death/page/2#post6638272
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Auto-Loot-Dosen-t-work-on-death/page/2#post6638308
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Auto-Loot-Dosen-t-work-on-death/page/2#post6638289
From these, I understand that i) Gaile is giving her personal opinion (she says so literally), ii) she has no decision in the development of this, iii) she believes in some sort of death penalty.
Based on this, your statement is true: “someone at Anet agrees”.
The discussion here seems to be a spectrum, with players suggesting anywhere from zero to all rewards from auto-loot upon death (correct me if I’m wrong on that understanding). How is this outrageous to you? Or, which part is outrageous? That players want some loot, or all loot? Even Gaile seems to be okay with a partial death penalty. Can you be more specific about your outrage?
OP please tell me what actions can you perform when dead beside pan your cam view and chat?
You’re comparing apples to oranges. Auto loot is not an action that a player performs, it’s something that happens automatically. As such, it should happen automatically regardless if you are dead or alive. What a player can or can’t do while dead is irrelevant.
To use your name … kitten. If you are down you aren’t doing anything that’s “automatic” other than breathing. You aren’t equipped with a loot magnet like Plants Vs Zombies.
Except… isn’t that exactly what auto-loot is? It’s a magnet that grabs loot for you, even from within chests, with no input from the player.
The input is automatic; the game is still following the same actions as if you pressed [f], just as my pressing [shift-f] (my custom shortcut) is the same as you pressing [f].
You’re assuming you know how it’s coded underneath.
Or its simply an absurd request and like I said.. luckily Anet agrees. That last part is really important and you should let it sink in.
Since you keep bringing that up… how do you know they agree? Did they say something?
I ask because whenever anybody makes a claim about what anet does or does not think, a dozen other people jump down their throats asking for proof. You’re making that claim. Where’s your proof?
It is absolutely insane that this is even a conversation. Thankfully someone working at Anet seems to agree.
If this is an actual issue, then why stop there. Why not be outraged that we have to press any buttons to play this game at all. Why can’t I just sit back, drink mountain dew, and eat cheetos all while this game plays itself and gives me the best loot in the game after a few moments of auto play. This is absurd and demand satisfaction!
What’s absurd is how so many of these conversations are plodding along, people are expressing their opposing views and some good discussion is had…. then a drama queen comes along and declares that any request for change is a demand for entitlement. It’s so cliche. And pointless. It doesn’t bring anything to the table. Maybe the poster is having some stress in their own life and needs to get it out but otherwise it’s just a dead-end.

I don’t like centaurleather, it’s just cheap mass produced leather. Dolyak leather is all the craze this year.
Yes, but Dolyak leather is primarily imported and you have deal with world versus world competitive pricing.
Well yes. Gotta go the extra mile if you want quality (battle)hardened leather.
Except that to craft or shape dolyak leather you have to soften it, and that takes oil. The best oils are made from plants in Tangled Depths but what with the frog union holding strikes all the time the prices have gone through the roof. Don’t get swindled by vendors selling chak oil. It’s low quality and will make your leather brittle. Plus you don’t want to know how they get the oil.
I’m just guessing here, but I think the glider needs to be selected in the glider wardrobe? Unless it works differently for combos. Just my 2c.
Unless, I’m misunderstanding you and you actually want the wings to be extended while walking around? That’s not typically how gliders work. Maybe the ground-based version is supposed to look all folded up? I haven’t seen it in action so might be completely off-track here.

I’m used to getting leather from skinning creatures and cloth from killing humanoids in other games. Is there a particular reason for this not being available in GW2?
^ Yes, yes there is. Anet don’t want us to know but I’m not afraid! I’m going to spill the beans! The secret is that th—- aaaargh!
In Ep6 we will learn that Balthazar is an imposter and actually is Menzies. And Rytlock is an imposter and actually is Balthazar. And Menzies is an imposter and actually is Rytlock. And Pact Commander is an imposter and actually is a hero from GW1. And Taimi is an imposter and actually is a sentient cat.
#plottwists #shocking #wownooneexpected
I’ve always suspected that one of the cats in my home instance is an imposter and is actually Trehearne, watching and waiting to get his sword back.
Some have suggested that we need to see all this loot we get in order to feel some sense of satisfaction. Personally, I’d be satisfied if all my luck was auto-consumed, all rares and below auto-salvaged, auto-deposited and auto-compacted. I’m perfectly happy seeing the loot flash by on the right side of the screen.
Edit: And I’ve suggested as much in the QoL suggestions thread, before anyone suggests it.
There is actually a genre that works like that sounds like clicker games would be right up your alley.
I’m genuinely mystified by this reply. I mean, I just don’t know if it’s meant to be helpful, comedic or sarcastic. I’m fine with any of those. I just don’t know which you’re going for.
I don’t get why people like him so much. He’s the most bland character because he’s blocked behind a generic “mysterious everything” without even a minute budge towards learning anything that wasn’t presented in Edge of Destiny. And yes, we know more about Rytlock from a poorly written outsourced novel released before the game than we do from nearly five years of the game.
His way of acting makes him a potential anti-hero, like Ridd..k of “The Chronicles of Ridd..k.” But I’m not kidding myself, with Anet’s latest trends in making everything childish, it’s far more likely that Rytolck becomes a “big dad” who pampers his kids.
Wait! I’ve got it!! The reason Rytlock wears the blindfold is cause he got his eyes shined in the Mists! OoO
Mounts in WvW just makes me think of those huge charr tanks in and near the black citadel that don’t move. At all. It’s just sad seeing them stand there, forever.
Now driving one of those huge beasts through the WvW landscape would be hilarious.
OMG Yes!! The tanks!! It would be almost like driving an AT-AT in the attack on HOTH. Well, in a fantasy way.

I smell a business opportunity here. Mobs for hire™. Pay an NPC some gold and you get an instance with your desired mob in it. ka-ching!!!
Anet, if you implement this, I’ll expect a finders fee.
I’m all for mounts in WvW. Big dinosaur mounts with mounted lasers. Pew pew!!
You’ve got this all wrong. They weren’t ganging up on your wasp. Those were your adoring fans, protecting you from harm!
#arrowheadentitlement
It’s the new black. Or orange. Or whatever.
So let’s break it down:
1: We don’t want mounts because the world already feels small. Well then don’t use one. Simple.
2: We don’t want mounts because teleporters and separated maps make the world small. Don’t use the teleporters or the mounts. Simple.
3: We don’t want mounts because it would mean we have to actually play the game to learn how to use them. Don’t use them. Simple.
4: We don’t want mounts because there will be items in the store (likely cosmetic only) that if purchased will make us feel like we’re buying nothing. Don’t buy them. Simple.
All of these logical fallacy arguments against mounts mean nothing at the end of the day when your npcs are getting around using mounts and carriages that means your game is incomplete. Mounts are a central part of every fantasy mmo and that’s what GW2 is.
Which is important to a game’s longevity. If all there is to do is get somewhere very fast, beat something up, and pin on the I-WIN badge, why bother?
Exactly my thoughts. A big appeal of MMOs are massive open worlds… being able to instantly teleport everywhere, then teleport out only diminishes that. And GW2 already feels small to me due to zones seperated by loading screens.
I thought teleporters were there for fast access to events. You can ignore them as you explore and level a character.
They are hardly of any influence on the zones, that are quite big enough to ‘get lost’ in imo.
But there is no player that will start at the lower left of a zone and travel by mount to the upper right “because it is so beautiful in the countryside”.
Bar the odd exeption to the rule off course.
I think that the number of people who enjoy exploring the visuals of the game fully might be greater than you assume.
I wasn’t talking about how many people enjoy exploring the visuals of the game. They could be 99,99% of all players and then i would still say what i did.
Those are not logical fallacies…
That’s not an argument…
Trenchcoats for heavy armor? Lol thats ridiculous. Everyone knows that only skirts provide enough armor for this.
And even that’s too much. A metal bikini or speedo is all you really need.
Especially if there’s under-boob. The more under-boob it shows, the more defense it provides.
what’s the point if the wings are red when I glide, and turn green when I walk.
Isn’t it obvious? It’s all about safety. You walk on green.
That button is already in the game. In fact, there’s two of them!
Look at the top of your screen. There’s a little icon that looks like a pair of crossed swords. And another that looks like a castle. Click either of those and you’ll instantly have a new build.
Isn’t this the ..pvp jp?
Edit: Lol. Got it now. Shouldn’t read posts at 1am when sleepy.

They’re two totally different creatures. They just happen to look the same. It’s convergent evolution, that is.
A question to those opposed to the fighting cats: have you killed any tigers or other big cats in this game? Just curious where the line is.
As I have already stated in this thread:
I could live in the middle of the Serengeti and yet not allow my pets to fight on my property. Military personnel bring service dogs into combat but don’t allow them to fight with other pets on their property.
Whether or not there is violence involving cats elsewhere in the game, these are pet cats in a place that is called my “Home”. Hopefully people can understand the difference.
But it isn’t a “home”. The name is misleading. Do you allow strangers into your home? I don’t. There are dozens of people and animals in my “home” instance, none of whom – with the exception of the cats – that I actually invited there. They wander about, ignoring me, in my own “home”. There’s nothing homely about it.
All that is moot, of course, because you’re missing the much bigger issue. You’re a murderer. We all are. And not just on a small scale. You know that “home” of yours with all your cats in it? Well, when you leave… it ceases to exist. All those cats cease to exist. And when you come back in.. that’s a different home, with different cats. Each time you go in and out, you’re ending the lives of everything and everyone in there. It’s a daily genocide. And the cats know it. Animals are perceptive about these things. They know they don’t have long to live, and they work out that stress by fighting.
What else can they do?
^ You can’t get rid of the brown. That’s structural dirt, that is.
Bring back Snek Adventure Box pleeeeeez!

I would go further and suggest it’s also possible for a character’s class weight to be ambiguous, not only given outfits but also armours like the Hellfire set which look very similar between the weight classes.
I’d be a happy camper if they opened all armour skins to all weight classes. It would give each class more than the spikes/coats/skirts they’ve been stuck with. I don’t subscribe to the argument that clipping is what’s holding them back. They seem to be okay with existing cases of clipping in armours and between armours/weapons. And I don’t think they need to nanny us from clipping ourselves, if we choose to. Let us choose what combination of skins we want to wear. Some combinations will clip, some won’t. It should be our call what’s viable and optimal, just like with builds. /soapbox
I succeeded for the first time yesterday, after a couple of fails. Yesterday, I decided to not collect any ley line pieces but only focus on damage. We were only about 10 people, I play Power Daredevil, and I believe that my decision to only do dps helped quite a bit. In the former attempts, I did both, hit a few times, then collected ley line sparks, and so on.
With the dps output my Thief has, I can wipe all mobs there except the golem champs quickly. I also had cc skills ready, and I saw that the other people who were in the event knew how to destroy that breakbar too.
I think the event fails when too many people collect stuff instead of killing things.
I concur with this. In the one I did recently, I was also a power daredevil and focused on killing, not picking up a single crystal. I don’t know if I was any help, but keeping the numbers of golems down was satisfying.
for the ppl that say they already brought celestial i understand but that doesnt mean they arent allow to release more whiter dyes or darker simply because ppl bought. Kinda like with class changes just because you got an asc set of you main class’ build that doesnt mean they sould never buff other builds or nerf yours
I’m not beefed about it and I don’t think the other poster is either. We’re excited more dyes are released. We’re just amused by the irony of buying the whitest white before an even brighter white was released. Besides, celestial still has a place.
I’m sorry that you got defensive regarding my question about the source for your statement.
How do you get the idea that I got defensive regarding your question? I could as well ask you why you didn’t wrote “I’m sorry, I feel that you got defensive regarding my question.” and then ask you for specific quotes that prove that my post was defensive.
See what I did? You are not sorry at all, this is just another condescending phrase the way you use it.
Good luck and bye bye, I’m done wasting time with petty arguments.
Is this an ironic post?
I don’t care about a lot of things, but I do like the the whitest, blackest, goldest, shiniest or whatever. Call me vain, but that’s what I like.
You’re not vain. You just want purity in your colors. I just bought celestial too. -_-
Can you imagine a pve zerg all stomping a champ at the same time? All the finishers…. O.O
That changes nothing. Only the first person to finish actually triggers the finisher.
Oh well. Still, imagine if every completed finisher appeared. The chaos!

Some little things that have been irking me for a long time. Might as well get them out once and for all…
1. Allow me to equip a harvesting tool in combat. If I’m under attack and I want to take the risk of equipping a harvesting tool, that should be on me.
2. An option which will auto-equip a harvesting tool if it runs out and I have the same kind of harvesting tool in my inventory.
3. For rich nodes, keep harvesting until it’s done without the player having to click F three times. The player can always interrupt this by moving.
4. Allow the Guild Treasurer to see my bank slots and material bank.
5. Prioritise merchants above random NPCS for interaction.
6. An option to auto-deposit and auto-compact on any loot that comes into my inventory from a chest or kill, which is a constant action for me on getting loot.
7. An option to auto-consume luck, which is another constant action for me on getting luck.
What bothers me about this, is that you can unlock bouncing shrooms or even gliding without using them.
Didn’t you learn to ride a bike ,without ever riding a bike, when you were little?
Did you ever sing a song without knowing the lyrics?
All the time. Annoys the heck out of my wife…
Zing. I believe you’ve just won the internet, sir.
Ironically, I also did one in Snowden today too and it suceeded. Maybe it’s just the luck of the draw. :/
Wow. This brings back memories. I remember writing on this thread, probably some dozen pages ago. I’m still curious why they really thought a blanket nerf rather than giving players the option to control the visual flair was the way to go. Or why they don’t provide that option now. We may never know. It seems strange to deprive your own game of something that should be a draw-card. Flashier visuals should attract players and inspire them to buy more bling, at least to my mind. Oh well. Sometimes I think, half-jokingly, that some intern accidentally deleted all the high-quality effect files and anet are too embarrassed to admit it. :/
Speaking of obscure non-human ones…. I’d love to be able to use the Monkey King tonic in combat on my staff daredevil. I don’t care if it’s got limited animations. It would still be awesome.
I have to admit I’ve stopped using this skill, preferring to just WP to the highest WP and fly down to wherever I want to go. The pre-cast/cast/firing delays (especially while flying), shooting in a random direction when it doesn’t like where I’m pointing and the limit of three charges killed it for me. If spiderman had these limitations he would have quit the superhero business.
Please, stop abusing the farm options.

Although, there are some flocks of birds in TD which do react when you approach them. It’s even an achievement to scare them. Maybe future episodes/expansions might have slightly better animal AI, if the six gods will it.
they would need a system to decide which takes priority.
…or not. They could just let you combine any gear you want, even if they clip together. It could allow for new, creative and weird combinations.
