[CDS] – Sanctum of Rall
one thing about torch 5 is the duration as well. some could argue that over the same period of time, you could do more damage auto attack with say, the sword. or even scepter now if you’re in close quarters. but regardless, it’s fun to play with and i think it still sort of has the intimidation factor when you’re up against newer players. :PP
for condition cleansing, does it cleanse multiple? just one per ally that it hits ya?
@Softspoken – ah, gotcha! thanks for the elaborate and easy to understand explantion. will keep testing and learning the ropes around the Necro class. having lot of fun so far and looking forward to putting some final builds together when i get there. ; ))
just sounded like a fun way to CC someone. heh
i think it ultimately depends how much healing do you have, or want. and what you’re giving up to take an extra 250 healing.
it’s certainly a big boost, and one could argue instead of further maxing healing, you could turn those stats into other more offensive ones that you may have felt you were lacking previously, though only one one weapon set.
[ADDED: DANGIT. though this means at least 20 points back into Valor. :// which argubly isn’t the best line for a healing build, imho, but hey, it could still work]
(edited by akamon.2769)
kinda crazy. relatively still new to necro (just picked hmi up not long ago) and this huge patch!
guess it’s alright cause i haven’t even come close to being familair with the pre-patch necro yet.
just a silly question – does fear change directions of peolpe being feared in each time its applied? if so, would this be possible? i place a wall in front of enemies running from me, they hit it get feared and run towards me, i DS fear them, would they turn back towards the wall? if so, would they then get feared by the wall again? or is it a one time thing? so they’d technically be running back and forth, while you could drop wells, or just DS 5 them the whoel time they’re being feared, immob at end of torment then drop wells or what have you then.
what will you be playign this for mainly? WvW? PvE? dungeons? etc..
overall in general, if i were to run 20 in Zeal, i would most likely do a 20/0/30/20/0 build or even a 20/30/0/20/0 build (if i feel more ballsy).
if i went 30 in Valor, i would take up Monk’s Focus actually for burst healing, while Zealous Blade will be able to give me little healing overtime to help sustain a bit here and there. and when i do take too much burst or health dropping too fast, i can burst heal with meditations. and of course on top of that, your actual heal if really needed. just be sure to hit your enemies with your greatsword, as well as WW in the middle of mobs, etc.
if you don’t feel it’s enough, you can always pair it up with omnoms or life leeching sigils, etc. though if you do some quick match, i think it adds up, depending on what situation you are. could be jsut enuogh to help keep you topped up while you avoid the big hits.
mainly use torch to “burst” if you will. i play Scepter/Focus + Mace/Torch most recently. learned this from Silven’s PvP guides. and it translate well into WvW as long as you’re fighting ZvZ. though it might have it’s place too.. i think it’s more suited for roaming or 1vN fights.
queue Shield of Wrath, JI port, insta immob, torch 4 double tap, mace’s Protector’s Strike
usually downs most, except for bunkers. drop smite if you have time. smite condition instant cast if you took it for extra damage. most of the time, reactionarily (word?) they will hit you back, this setting off Protector’s Strike. so you’ve got 2 big AoE blasts (both shields) as well as Zeaot’s Fire/flame from the torch for HUGE burst.
cleansing flame i mainly use for mowing down low health fleeing enemies or those who are downed or lumped in a group. mace symbols are good for that too. this combo nets you up to 4k+ 3rd mace auto attacks and 1k+ symbol crits.
fun stuff.
even with scepter and torch, i play them as melee and never ranged. ://
i know it’s a “ranged” weapon, but it’s most effective in your face. no matter what, Guardians will be melee for me and scepter is extremely effective at close range.
the only times i’ve found i needed it at range is in PvE / dungeons, where the mobs or stationary objects won’t move anyways so i feel it’s fine.
i’m excited for mace of justice now. call me crazy but i actually took it before as well at times. my new healing based symbol build should benefit from it quite nicely.
i am a huge fan of symbols too. sure, your opponents won’t stick in it, nor will your allies, that’s why i try to place it around my enemies and allies, and for enemies at least, we have a TON of ways to cc them on top. i don’t place them randomly and tell people hey come stand in here. it’s not a main source of healing anyways, it’s more of a nice to have. whereas for damamge, it’s pretty darn notable and i find symbols quite effective, even in WvW. love dropping symbols on downed enemies especially when i run off to take care of others.
@Blasino – does aegis applied onto allies that get removed also heal?? didn’t even think about that before. if so, might be interesting.
though in the end, i agree there still isn’t much diversity as they’ve “hyped it up” to be. i’ve been trying myself to branch out, but right now, i can’t really think of too much or anything super solid that will have people deviate from what we’ve been seeing already. decent changes this patch, but i guess was expecting more. not complaining, since Guardians were already in a pretty darn good place. though still think there was more to be had. in a good sense. ; ))
SILVEN!!! NOOOOOOO!!!
doode. thank you SO much for your contribution to the gw2 and, especially, Guardian community! i’ve learnt so much from your guides / threads and i’d like to think, really upped my Guardian game lol. especially in the PvP setting. fancy running into you on a few custom arenas as well. ; ))
i am also glad you’re able to come to this conclusion – that it is a game, and it should be fun, and focusing on IRL stuff. grats on the recent promotion!! and banish your last year into oblivion. XDDD
which legendary are you going for? i shall contact you in game. ; )) i’ll always be up for some pvx with ya if i see you on. all the best, Silven. : )))
Congratulations Sacrx!!
the new character select medal is sick.
but sad to hear that you’re leaving. we wish you all the best. i don’t think our paths have ever crossed but i’ve heard many heroic stories of yours. ; ))
anyone here completely revamped their builds after the patch?
always poopie to be stuck in the office when new stuff comes out. ; ))
also, how’s Obsidian Sanctum doing? heh
weren’t armor sets always bought as a set??
although, the ability to be able to buy specific pieces would eb nice. and perhaps have the entire set at a slight discount to incentivize people in that sense too.
@OP, i think it was more the “perceived” tone / attitude the OP was in that caused some of the not as friendly remakers / comments. : )) a good idea nonetheless!
@pot – GS/Hammer build is easily one of the most fun builds out there
not say it’s the best, but its like you said, fun. you just feel so.. powerful lol. lot of variations to it too ; ))
thanks for the videos!! really well fought.
pls excuse Amins : ))
know there’s a big patch coming out within say.. the next 12 -24 hrs with lot of SUPPOSED balance changes, skills tweaks, trait fixes..
that aside though:
A) check out Dulfy’s Endgame gearing guide
i slowly worked my way from green to yellow to exotic orange gear. it’ll take time, but don’t fret. and know you’ll keep changing your gear as well as you go. well least i do.
B) check out Brutaly’s guide on the AH Hammer spec – stickied guide of the Guardian forums. lot of great info even if you don’t plan to play hammer.
seems you want to go one-handed weapons. look down the Radiance line for the Grandmaster trait. i play the build Bond plays as well and definitely works in PvE. in WvW works for roaming, big zergs, you ahve to be WAY more careful. i would advise you after reading about builds, try them out and tweak them to your own liking. there is no one build out there that all Guards will say is one to go to.
there are plenty of guides that fellow Guards have put up already on the forums here with very elaborate explanations. what are some specific “why” questions that you had regarding what you read here?
if you feel there are lack of consecration builds, you should try to aim for coming up with one if you enjoy playing them. ; )) they are more situational if you will. least from my perspective.
i am glad that Necro’s will be getting it. though again, like you mentioned, with their stated professions of speciically mesmers and thieves getting it as well seems counter-intuitive.
the idea of Torment seems more suited for classes that have “mobility issues”. sure there are ways around it for a Guard or other classes, but giving it to classes that can outmaneuver us, or use stealth as a mechanic to “refresh” fights only adds onto their capability. confusion? just don’t attack and move to avoid taking further damage. confusion AND torment? don’t attack, and don’t move. and get hit.
stealth/escape? give chase and lock ‘em down. stealth/escape + torment? actually, never mind. just run while i stand here. again, we’ll have to see the final product when notes get released AND how these new conditions and class changes are really reflected and executed in gameplay. would love to see Guards get a decent source of it to help keep enemies near us or just not get kited to death. not saying we can’t do that already though or can’t dael with kiting…. but yes.
the more offensively built Guardians do have a place in tPvP, though again it really boils downt o team comp and chemistry and dare i say it, tactics even.
apart from the standard 10/30/30/0/0 builds, you can go for a slightly varied version 0/3030/5/5. it’s more or less the same, but does add a lot of survivability with the added utility of virtues as well as vigor procs. see Silven’s guide here on the forums.
i actualyl ran 30/10/30/0/0 for tPvP once. was in a group with an engi, necro, and mesmer, also a warrior i think. we all solo queued. they sent me, the Guard naturally to hold keep. i said i’m not a bunker though. then they asked, then.. what are you? i told them my spec. they didn’t say anything. but it didn’t matter because we played so well together and i was able to down people a lot faster than normally, while not getting downed so easily myself. we played so well together that we teamed up, except for the warrior. and played, 3, 4 more games afterwards and doign extremely well. tons of communication. called for incs and help, etc. sure this is anecdotal, but i didn’t feel i was hindering my group. sure you can the other teams were probs bad, but doesn’t mean the spec doesn’t work. with ANY build, ANY profession, you’ll always run into bad days. and vice versa, just means the more good days you’ll have when you can set your mind to things, or not be focused on how bad Guardians are. cause it hink, tbh, entering any game mode with that in mind, you’ll naturally perform more poorly.
sorry for the double post. lol. just really wanted to highlight Bash’s comments on Glacial Heart suggestions. those are awesome and i would love chill on symbols for a Zeal Grandmaster. definitely big enough reason to go 30 deep.
@Bash or any others, you reckon we’ll be getting Torment or more reliable ways of inflicting other conditions? highly unlikely.. but i can’t fathom how they seem to be pushing for more CD builds for Guards, yet all we get are burns, which stack duration.
hopefully they’ll keep revamping.
Amins, sad to hear. : (( ANet really needs to shape up!!!
do keep in mind everyone, that these again are only preview of patchnotes from GW2hub. we will only know all the changes come the patch notes tomorrow / today. also, i want to think that these are only the changes to trait lines. there is no mention of skill changes, etc. so i am still holding my breath.
Glacial Heart:
A) been changed to apply to all weapon crits, 25% chance of activating, 15s cd, 2s duration. This would have given us a semi constant outflow of snare, without it being OP, or being completely useless due to a quick cleanse.
B) apply chill to symbols. Moving this trait as a grandmaster in zeal would have actually made it worth going 30 into zeal for along with the new zealous blade trait, and would have given us a decent amount of new builds, instead of just slightly buffing something in a trait line almost everyone uses.
Anet, pay attention. We do actually put out good suggestions.
SNAP. lololl, congratulations!!! glad you got your other orders all cancelled lol.
now go craft the precursors for all the other legendariessss!
From gw2hub (along with more Sky Pirates of Tyria updates), though it says its a preview only. very similar to the “leaked notes” we saw earlier. not everything we saw in those notes are here though, so unless they’ve changed them to be final, or this is not a full release of the full upcoming balance patch notes either.

to each their own. lot of different styles out there.
the Guardian definitely has a place in WvW.
Can you survive and hold your own?
we have a ton of access to blocks, blinds, aegis, and even some invuln. adding on to that, even without speccing a ton into healing power, we’ve two very powerful Grandmaster traits that allow for sustain over time. on the other hand you can trait for healing power and your staying power is massive. though in the end, i feel its your ability to dodge, utilize your blinds, blocks at the right time before stats to survive. may not be the most mobile class, relatively speaking, so do learn your position in the fight, what you can handle and what you can’t.
Are you a benefit to the team?
two ways of going about this. firstly, what people will more commonly point to – a support role. the Guards have easy access to a ton of ways to offer support to a team. through boons, aoe blinds, aoe heals, aoe aegis, stability, various forms of healing, CC, area denial… to name a few.
secondly though, a zerker guard is more than doable, viable in WvW. so the faster you kill, i see that as support to a team as well. to be able to secure stomps via stability, blinds, blocks or even instant teleport stomps for thieves / mesmers, etc. so what i want to say here is, the Guardian, while being able to focus on support, by no means is saying that we can ONLY support. we can definitely do damage if we want to. many builds ou tthere are so-called hybrid as well – support DPS all in one.
Can you roam?
YES, the Guard can roam. though we have a lack of mobility i was able to outrun a mini zerg today on more than one occasion, and i wasn’t even specced for “mobility” or roaming. so escaping is not an issue imho. unless if i made some mistake myself. Guards are capable of one, two-shotting certain builds / classes while still retaining decent sustainability. there are various builds out there that have 100% uptime on swiftness, or you can teleport all over the place with sword, judge’s intervention and throw in some leaps. the meditation build paired with monk’s focus is extremely strong 1v1 just to name one.
it’s late, but i guess what i’m trying to say is.. the Guardian is VERY fun in WvW. i am clearly biased, though. XDD
ahh, seems as you’re right, Tarsius. according to Wiki at least.
though i tend to agree as well so i’ve never really looked into that Trait before as I felt taking IX and X were more beneficial.
Same bro. T -3 hours before i can party for 2 days and not have to see any client or courtroom.
courtroom?? what did you do now… ; ))
hope to see you on the field soon! >:DD
Im a criminal/Family lawyer :s
heh, just messing with ya. i figured you’d be in that line of work or something similar.
well, now we all know who to get in touch with when we get in trouble! XDD
sounds too good to be true eh?
what’d be a decent build though if true?
i’d assume you want RHS as well so that’s already 20/30/x/x/x
Yesterday Night at 22:05 CET i forged my Legendary Sunrise. I cant say how happy i was. Now im outa cash, outa mats and completly tired of all the farming. At the Moment i didnt know if i would go through it again. A few days ago i have read a post of a guy on the wvw Forum that he already made 4(!!!) Legendarys. That guy must be nuts =)
congratulations!!
that is a gorgeous weapon. after my Juggernaut, i didn’t think i’d want another legendary again. though now, after months of regular playing no specific farming, i’m quite close so i started working towards Rodgort now.
and it doesn’t feel like such a grind as the first time. slowly working towards it and it’s allowing me to participate in more aspects of the game again! which is a nice breath of fresh air.
had some decent luck with clovers last night. at one time got 6 in a row
overall, i’m at about a close to 40%+ hit rate! though i think i just jinxed myself now XDDD 18 left to go!
this time, skillpoints is taking the longest though lol, since i spent a lot on other weapons and siege upgrades before my legendary hunt again heh.
haven’t completed this yet, but seems like a nice item to get at the end!
pretty excited for this.
one idea where to store it is, maybe not just in the bank tab somewhere, but perhaps they could add it to the “Personal Story” tab on the Hero Panel? or something to do with “Stories”. maybe a collection of mementos or videos or cut scenes can all be stored there. so after we open it up, it’ll be in our Hero Panel and we can go back and wacth them or read aytime we want to.
hmmmm friday afternoon. gloomy outside. hot / humid as crap. typhoon signal 1 warning is up. what shall i dooooooooo when i get home tonight?? >:DDDD
T-3 hours. T. -. 3. hours.

i love downed #2 on a cliff!
and i share those sentiments, Bash. once i saw a group of 3, 4 DPS-ing a downed thief, i just ran up and punted them off. XDD
and on a few occasions, i’ve had someone downed right next to me and once your #3 is up, you more or less have it in the bag as long as they are still close to you.
i tried in sPvP once with 30 in zeal, scholar runes, running around lol it was fun while it lasted. in group play, staff can be extremely devastating, especially with a high crit rate! empower and then throw on sigil of fire you get massive AoE damage… though in 1v1 (or anything close to that) it’s one of the worst sets to be in, imho.
like others have said, it is undeniably strong for support in group play though. very versatile and by no means it hits lightly. just probs not the best.
we have some decent tricks in our arsenal for “sticking with opponents”.
can semi-be broken down into two general areas:
Teleports/Gap closers
CC / Area Denial
i think that’s most of them.
ports and gap closers are self explanatory. CC more or less as well, but you can get creative with them, especially with Judge’s Intervention.
on many occasions, i’ve used Shield #5’s knockback to knock people down, hit Esc so you’re not rooted anymore, and then for e.g. switch to say hammer for ring of warding on top of them, or GS binding blades and pull when they get up and try to run again.
or use hammer 4 to knock them into a wall for then hammer 3 or scepter 3 to immob them, and then have your way with them.
recently been experimenting with Bane Signet and it’s quite fun. can knockdown from a 1200 range.
most don’t expect it.
Meditation Guardian with Sword + Greatsword is one of our most mobile sets. not mobile in terms of just running from A to B fastest, but being able to travel terrain, stick to foes, or even escape. you do need a target for Sword 2 and Judge’s Intervention so practice that and it actually makes a big difference. fo course, be weary or your cd’s, etc : ))
hope this helps a bit.
ya, props to CMF as well! haha i was too lazy to post the links. lol for that, i apologize, OP. XDDD
no no, you’re not overthinking at all. keep practicing it, but just don’t stress about it. i just had no idea what i was doing lol and you’re right i started to raelly enjoy and learn the class mechanics more post lvl 30 and really got things going around 60 – 80 with the traits opening up. i wish i’d started practicing good dodging earlier. really makes a big different.
like CMF mentioned, you’ll need decent crit chance % to proc crits for Vigorous Precision (Honor 5) since it helps and allows you to dodge more as your endurance fills up quicker. the dodge heal trait is Selfless Daring, which is a minor trait (Honor 15). this might be goign too far, but just bear in mind Healing Power scales 1:1 with Selfless Daring – one of the best scaling with healing. imagine AoE dodge roll heals for 1.5k
go ahead and experiment with that trait as well.
i think in the beginning just try messing around with different traits and change them after every so often. never feel like you ahve to be stuck with any given trait. at lower levels, i felt power scaled the best in terms of killing stuff and mobs.
when you get to 60-ish you can start working towards an end build. but even then, you can wait until you hit 80 to do more serious thinking.
as long as you have fun!
D the Guardian has a lot of condition cleansing as well so learn to use them, and in what situations. wall of refletion is defs a good skill when against ranged mobs (especially when you do dungeons, Caudecus Manor it’s a godsend. also against ranged classes if you WvW). if there are other Guardians around or Mesmers, learn to try and time the reflect skills so you don’t waste yours or have them overlap.
so much more to tell and i don’t want this post to get too messy though lol. good luck and most important thing is you’re having fun!
mann, the more i think / read, the more i hope is true lol.
don’t see any HUGE drastic changes, but definitely offers up some tweaking to existing builds.
Please God let Glacial Heart get some attention. 5 sec chill on a 30 sec cooldown is very, very nice if true.
agreed mang. am already making tweaks to my “Ice Age” build lol. well just in my head at least. :pp
‘tis quite a lot of trouble to go through just to put up some fake notes though.
but again, i guess we shouldn’t be surprised what some people would do for.. whatever reason.
it is pretty funny they are deciding to give Torment to thief and mesmer. mesmer already has confusion which sort of forces you to not do anything. now you literally will be standing there, doing nothing. can’t even dodge to not take further damage.
and for thief, well i guess it’s to ensure we won’t chase after them when they start to flee. right?
snideness aside.. will wait for the day of the patch and see how they actually implement these into game.
First off, glad you’re enjoying the Guardian class so much!
it’s my main, and always will be.
there is no right or wrong way to play. could one way be more effective than the other? sure. but realize there is no one set way to play one set build with two weapon sets. you can have a general rotation. at the same time, you have CDs, you face different enemies in different situations. while you’re leveling, one thing i WILL say tough, is to experiment with all weapons. don’t just unlock the skills and switch. stick wtih them for a while. try pairing up each mainhand with all the offhands. pair up 1hand sets with 2h sets. mix and match. get a feel of how certain weapon sets work with another. and how certain weapon sets work with your utilities and traits.
it’s great you’re learning to dodge so early on. i didn’t even actively start doing it until say 60, 80 lol. wish i’d started earlier. i think early on we don’t have a lot of access to endurance regen yet. you can invest 5 points into the Honor line if you feel necessary, which gives you Vigor each time you crit. though at low-levels, i don’t think it’s necessary. so rather, learn which attacks to dodge from enemies. you don’t need to dodge every autoattack by them. but if you see a big windup, or a red circle under you? you’ll probably want to dodge those. you’ve already familiarizing yourself with the Guardian’s blocks. there’s also aegis, a ton of blinds that you can use to your advantage as well.
the Guardian doesn’t have a whole lot of access to different fields – mainly Light and Fire. and not a TON of finishers but more than enough. read the tolltips or wiki to see which skills are what type of finishers and which fields are light or fire. for e.g. purging flames or hallowed ground (Consecration skills) can offer a lot of utility in a group. if you are coming up in a fight with lots of conditions, you can use purging flames (know that a condition is removed each time you enter or leaev the field. just staying in it only removes one. and you have blast finishers on the hammer and focus. the hammer 2 is a super short CD blast finisher and hits hard. you can easily stack might. the GS, which you like to use, has a leap and 2 whirl finishers so you can get a fire shield or shoot fiery projectiles.
in PvE, light field combo with leap and blast finishers give retaliation, though argubly not as useful as in WvW/PvP. for e.g. your GS 4 symbol gives retaliation per tick. so you can drop that, then leap with gs3 to get extra retaliation.
or if you whirl finish (GS2, 5) in a light field, it’s condition removal if your allies get hit by the bolts.
so depending on the situation, you don’t always have to jump in with 3 first. though it’s undeniably a good opening since you blind as well and a agap closer. but experiment. : ))
sure, the class is designed to be strong at certain things – easily coming to mind support, though, do note that this doesn’t mean that Guardians can ONLY do support. they can do so so so so much more. they are en extremely versatile class. where certain builds gameplay can be extremely reactive and pretty darn fun in that sense.
OP, you go play the way you want to play. and have fun!
check out some of the sticky guides as well for some basic info and good reading : )) the general one might be a bit outdated though but still decent info!
had a little time to jump into SoR BL last night.
was fun bumping heads against BG! you guys were fierce.
and that JQ thief that i was dabbling back and forth with for a bit (added: near Briar tower) – kinda wished no one else was around. ; ))
yea, i was thinking that they might just be outdated and in the e.g. of DS5, they just changed the name and tweaked the workings of it.
only time will tell. ; )) i am optimistic about this next patch though.
just recently picked up my necro again so was quite excited to see these.
i’ve run torch a lot recently in WvW and it is extremely fun. torch 4 is great burst. torch 5 is nice for chasing fleeing enemies on low health. most of the time they will get downed. works amazing on thieves as well. you get them low. they stealth. channel flames spin around. after a few seconds, look around and you’ll see them downed.
only thing is watch out for retal obviously on such a high hit count move. and it’s DPS is not that high for the duration.
do note, i don’t play scepter or torch as ranged. because to be honest, we don’t have great ranged options. scepter helps but it’s strength still lies in close-mid range. torch as well. they are very beastly up in someone’s face.
i’ve consistently run 10/30/30/0/0 for customs, and then a 0/30/30/5/5 for tPvP and it’s worked out for me so far. : )) the second build actually offers a lot of sustainability even if you don’t pull your burst off. it’s, DPS burst but not a one trick pony.
Guardians – the silent warriors of Tyria. or mute.
at least i don’t have to worry about people’s reactions when i yell “Save yourselves!” and then run away on my own. i kid i kid. i never turn my back on my enemies! O_____o
like you mentioned elsewhere, Zeal could be easily worth going 20 into.
but yes, we’ll have to wait and see. not holding my breath right now. but i don’t feel there’ll be major overhauls to the Guardian builds currently. just hope they don’t really tune down what they feel are “too strong” right now, to avoid the power creep they mentioned. ://
hmm just some thoughts. i’ve recently been trying to build a healing based Guardian, with at least 1k healing power and some crit rating. by mixing cleric’s and magi’s and other stats like soldiers or berserkers, i’m able to hit crit chance of 30%, which i feel is in a good place.
for a healing guard, i feel toughness >> vitality to a certain extent. i almost want to say you don’t want that much vitality because that means the more you need to top up when you lose it. as with a relatively low health pool, you’re able to always top it up with constant small streams of healing from your regen, high healing, etc.
if you went full magi’s as well, you will literally have no power. and thus the crit chance you’ve gained won’t do a lot either.
if you’re going 30 into virtues, then i personally would capitalize on boon duration. however, i’ve been thinking of mercy runes for a bit. though in a sense, you’re sort of counting on people to be down around you a lot. so if you’re donig ZvZ’s a lot, then it could be useful. or sepecially if you have other Guards running Mercy runes, you could “spike” res easily. and in that sense, you get some toughness as well, though i would still recommend at most mixing magi’s with cleric’s if you’re sticking with healing and want a bit of crit.
though to a certain extent, with a healing Guard, you’ll be wanting the high crit chance more for procs, instead of doing massive damage. that’s my take at least.
usually as a DPS Guardian, i prefer to roam more than anything. in zergs or group battles, you’ll ahve to pick your fights more carefully since i’m assuming you won’t be able to withstand AS many hits as say a Guardian built moer defensively.
that being said, DPS staff nice especially with a high crit rating.. and it is amazing for group fights, especialyl zerg vs zerg fights. in a 1v1? imo, it’s the worst weapon set to be stuck on. so i would recommend you keeping other weapon sets on you as well if you don’t already. JUST in case the situation arises where you don’t wanna be stuck with a staff.
for sPvP, so you’re doing damage, but not able to down people? as in, if they’re losing, they run away, reset the fight, etc?
what builds are you running? for both WvW and s/tPvP?
not sure if this is legit either. just posted in the Necro forums (these are the two classes i really care about lol)
the changes seem pretty darn awesome so far. though, not sure if this is worth mentioning or not..
in these “leaked notes”, Death Shroud 5 is called Dark Binding.
however, from the GW2Upcoming Skill and Trait Changes update, it states that the name for DS5 is Tainted Shackles?
Necromancer Death Shroud 5
As the professions in Guild Wars 2 continue to grow, we will continue to find ways to augment them and add potency to their arsenal of abilities. With the next balance update, necromancers will be unlocking their fifth ability within Death Shroud: Tainted Shackles. This skill will cause nearby enemies to be inflicted with conditions and controlled if they don’t take very quick action.
there is a slightly mismatch to the skills description as well. though on the gw2 update, it’s rather vague… or am i missing something?
i quite like the Guardian changes from these same “notes” as well, so kind of hoping them to be true. XDD couldn’t help but notice this small discrepancy though.. but who knows.
thoughts? ; ))

I LOVE HARD JPs.
:DDD
but hard or not, reward or not, i just want a JP to have fun with. : )))))
i follow them on fb, but i’ve recently been on fb just less in general. or maybe my friends have too much other crap up. XDDD
but that’s pretty crazy they’d do that. i don’t mind marketing and it hink it’s important to keep your social media going and up to date. they could have spoiler posts though, which i think are even more intriguing and invite more discussion and noise.
on the other hand, unrelated, fb needs to up their game in terms of what we can or cannot do with posts.. anyhoo.
but HEY! least there are no longer ONE TIME events so those for us in other timezones, get to at least experience things first hand.. when not spoiled outside of the game
it does seem like they’re more buffs than anything. though i quite enjoy the changes though!
the scepter got a lot of buffs too. which i’m liking. it’s easily one of my favorite weapons in the game as of late.
merging the GS traits is quite nice. and i like the fact that most of our weapon related traits either got buffed or added effects since most other classes have the same. 250 healing on Mace is nice!
D though argubly, most of my healing builds at least, don’t go that deep into valor. heh
AoE stun break on Shielded Mind seem kinda OP though XDD
and could we finally see some decent spirit weapon builds again?
D
and i shall be using your good site, once again, sir.
thanks for the reply : )))
