yeah and absolute resolution should have an effect on battle presence, imo.
So i specced Battle Presence (Honor XII) and i see this “Immune” text in my partymates and npcs in town.
What is causing this? Is this a bug? i also noticed that my guardian party mate isn’t affected by Battle Presence in FoTM.

all those haxors, botters and gold sellers are from the Order of Whispers.
tier 2 human > tier 3 human aesthetically imo.

i got the chest from my mail but i highly agree that they should’ve just sent it to everyone – to those who did it, to those who got disconnected, and to those who weren’t able to do it. the investigation is a waste of time.
for great justice is playing at loop inside your head.
you were having sex and shouted for great justice.
its the same rationale that applies to real life. buy iphone 5, then 5 months later iphone 6 will come out. dot dot dot.
but yeah, i get you. i also bought gems for gold to gear my first character, thinking that they’ll be the maxed gear for a very long time. but i was wrong.
Got my chest. thank you, a.net! +1 <3, more + to go.
you forgot that part of the silent majority are the inactive accounts of those who quit or not playing the game that didn’t bother to go to the forums or banned accounts.
An answer from a CC incoming
i loled. really.
Grats. That’s Time.

“largest shareholder”
it doesn’t matter if its 14 point something. Nexon is the “largest shareholder.”
It does matter. 86% of the shares are held by someone else. Frankly; I wouldn’t worry about pay to win, they actually want to make money.
no if that 86% are owned by 86 companies, then they have 1% each. so still nexon owns the majority at 14 point something still.
i posted this in a thread.
“if I was in Arena.NET’s “Department of Making Awesome Excuses”, i will make it appear like Ascended item was the natural progression of item upgrades.
How?
By telling you players that Exotics which accomodated runes and sigils are meant to be ascended with the runes and sigils and jewels attributes.
See, exotics will be the first step in the process. you can configure your exotic jewels to be berserker+emerald jewel and whalla, ascend it to have berserker+emerald stats with a slight increase. or you can configure your exotic weapons and armors with runes and sigil, ascend it and the ascended version will have the rune/sigil attributes.
this ascended versions are fixed and cannot be reconfigured but the infusions and the only way to reconfigure your ascended gear is to go the exotic way again and do all the configuration there with the appropriate jewel, rune or sigil and ascend them again.
with this setup, exotics are not obsoleted and is a prerequisite to get the ascended item.
and yes, thank you, A.NET in advanced. i’ll take a donation."
basically using Gift of Ascension and our current exotics. Yes, our current exotics as precursors for ascended.
cash shop was not pay to win. aesthetic stuffs mostly and other perks such as character slots and make overs, unlock skills and heroes. the game didn’t depend on the cash shop.
Right, but it didn’t stop a cash shop from entering a game that wasn’t designed initially to having one. They had no problem taking the cash.
sure they had the cash shop. but good thing is that they didn’t change the fundamental mechanics of the game drastically within 3 months.
For sure, wasn’t really my point though.
But you didn’t got my point that the whole game didn’t depend on the cash shop.
Well with the drop rates how they are now, it definitely does depend on the cash shop in a big way. gems to gold….that’s what they wanted to increase right? That part is obvious whether nexon was involved or not, because everyone’s been hush hush and the one time they actually snuck in a reddit question for it, they said they’d investigate. Have we seen any fixes since with the two patches or any mentions of what they found since Chris answered that question? No and that’s no theory, the sheer lack of communication speaks volumes imo.
Still waiting on a loot fixing patch.
i was referring to Guild Wars 1 not depending on its cash shop money wise or game play wise.

sure they had the cash shop. people are willing to pay anyway (for those who bought i guess. i for one bought the bonus mission packs because i love to have the other skins) but good thing is that they didn’t change the fundamental mechanics of the game drastically within 3 months.
ANET was under NCSoft during GW1 days. it went great for more than 5 years.
Fair enough to add that detail. But it was still developed and released all on their own initially. NCSoft came in and could have just let GW1 run it’s coarse, the cash shop did show up in GW1, where it originally did not have one. Was that NCSoft? But I do see an even closer pattern to what you say about Nexon.
cash shop was not pay to win. aesthetic stuffs mostly and other perks such as character slots and make overs, unlock skills and heroes. the game didn’t depend on the cash shop.
They’ll never tell us the skinny, but personally I felt the change in direction recently was due to either outside forces wanting more $$$ or outside forces needing more $$$. Outside forces = NCSoft and/or Nexon.
I think we are seeing a different GW2 than the manifesto and did we not here last week via a rumor the vision switch even caught Anet employees off-guard, tells me that a entity above them is flexing some power.
I hope all the above isn’t true, because that is a large tremor that adds risk. That also means a Korean company is driving the game and we know what that typically means. It also can affect moral, one day you are in charge, the next day you are taking orders. I’ve also have seen more liberal moderating here, which was needed, the good way to look at it is they need to be more open to people saying their piece and taking what is needed from that. Or the bad way, we don’t care as much anymore, say what you want, we got sucker punched ourselves.
Who really knows, but I wasn’t a fan when NCSoft acquired Anet. This Anet isn’t the same as it was when it was Anet on their own releasing GW1. Perhaps GW’s 3 will be a Kickstarer! LOL
ANET was under NCSoft during GW1 days. it went great for more than 5 years.
When Nexon came to the picture in June or July of 2012, you see changes like dyes becoming character bound, mystic forge which is like the old Mu Online (an early 2000 game by Korean company WebZen) chaos machine, ascended items which doesn’t go well with the manifesto. i think A.NET had a set todo list and when Nexon came, that todo list was edited like kitten.
No, I mean . . . if NCsoft decided to shut down ArenaNet, do you think GuildWars 2 would actually continue? Talk about “pay2win” and other things, but . . .
This idea doesn’t help any of us GuildWars 2 players fans or not.
No. Because GW2 is owned by NCSoft. But if NCSoft sells GW2 to other publishers, then it will continue.

Public companies are owned by there share holders, the people working there are elected by a board of trustees. Anyone with a majority share has the most votes, in a company. Effectively if someone can garner enough votes they can do literally anything. Your votes are per stock. As nexxon holds the majority share they have the most weight is where there talking about. Often those with the largest shares hold a seat. That means if Nexxon and a few other major share holders wanted to put a guy that works for Nexxon in NCsofts mists they could.
This is what they mean by Nexxon “owns” NCsoft, technically they don’t they just can push some weight around. It’s exaggerated for sure but you know what they mean. You know they can kind of yank the chain.
my bad, i was meant to put NCsoft/Nexon, lol.

You folks need to read. They clearly state it is to help thier game developer, which Anet is. This although unfortunate for NCsoft employees does not affect Anet’s employees since they are a subsidiary not NCsoft
subsidiary wholly owned by NCSoft.
And?
They are a game developer.
if you’re wholly owned by NCSoft, NCSoft can shut you down at will.
This benefits us . . . how, exactly?
I mean, there’s nothing here that really is of any positive potential outcome if NCSoft decides to shut down ArenaNet.
that’s just the worst case scenario, if GW2 starts to suck. they can pull a CoH move.
and see here the real relationship of NCSoft/A.NET

bag of lies… lol how astute.
how could be jumping be bugged if they bugfix things that don’t relate to jumping? must be someone sabotaging things inside. lol.
Are you happy that other people are happy too?

i didn’t belong to the people who whined that there’s no endgame. the endgame is when i finally installed GW2. the game was the 5 years that i waited for it.

It’s not always QA’s fault. Software development is a complex process. If you found a bug within a few minutes, you can bet almost always QA did too. However, QA can’t fix the bugs.
you don’t QA after RTM. You QA before RTM.
Do you realize that this depends on the implementation that maybe even A.net isn’t sure about yet? they could scale existing weapons up and stuff like that.
No way brah, all this ascended crap is by design since day 1 ANet just didn’t feel it was right to release it at launch or some other lie they came up with to make you believe they didn’t create Ascended gear because some people whined about being bored and ANet panicked.
ever heard the word “excuse” or “alibi”?
if ascended items are intended in the release, you should see crafting/jewels accommodating this raising of tier. but no. look at how the item was designed.
this was just an adhoc addition. they’re just putting some icing on it.
next patch is to nuke orr because it will be obsoleted by new content.
best way to do it is to have the karka chest magically appear infront of your character so you can rng your way to a precursor
or
give all of the people a precursor this christmas day. its a win win scenario. those who have gotten precursor will be happier, those who got dced will be happy and those who wasnt able to participate in the event will also be happy.
everybody happy. this christmas.
at least in real life, that how it goes. everybody happy.

i thought my character is going to be the one saving the tyria.
really.
3. Play the game normally, and collect what’s needed over a long period of time.
Play the game normally, what does this even mean?
I am confused about what this, how does it work? How do you play the game “normally”?
If you do 100% map completion you won’t get all the 250 stacks of t6 mats you need. Not even close. What other “normal” stuff is there to do? Wander around in Orr? Kill Jormag 1,000,000x? Stand around bored in LA?
Hey good luck with making your OWN mmorpg
I would definitely play that one, infinite content. Every day new dungeon, every day new map and story
Nice. I am really looking forward
It looks to me that you never played any mmorpg before. MMORPGs always involve farming, repeating content. ALWAYS. And many people enjoy it, like myself.
Arenanet never said there is no grind involved in Guild Wars 2. They said you dont have to grind/farm to be on pair with everyone else (stat wise) but if you want the best, the most unique and the most rare weapon (Legendary) you have to WORK HARD for it.
So please try to understand this.
wow, i must work hard now in a game that suppose to be an escape from real life work?
Games are supposed to be an escape from reality, just like drugs. at least drugs doesn’t require you to farm 250 ectos and 250 vials of powerful blood to get high.
i strongly noticed WvW decreasing, the first time i ever was in there was like WOOOOOW such a huge zerg of us :o omg how cool
now where the heck is everyone
Sony Online just launched their latest f2p MMO which supports thousands of players engaged in WvWvW like battlefield. Their WvWvW is the main dish of their game while GW2 WvWvW is just a side dish here. Some of our former WvWvW players are there in the new game currently.
whats that mmo?
it is safe to assume that this “silent majority” are the yes-men/women who just swallow everything that comes along without even doing some quality assessment to the things that goes through their mouth.
in a changing game which upholds quality and delivering quality in every change, it is very important to consider the dissatisfaction opinion because it indicates that there is something wrong with the quality of the change. this dissatisfaction don’t come from a fixed population of angry players. a boulder from the silent majority too can come off from a block and complain. see what happened when a very few people were suggesting vertical progression. and when it was announced that the game is gonna have vertical progression, loads of kittentormers came out of the shadow and voice out their opinion.
so it is dumb to assume that the silent majority is all happy and contented. one day, when change happen, for sure significant portions from the majority will become vocal about it.
it’s just the way it is.
even the people who QAs the patchnotes are failing.
Chickpea = Hummus
Power Trader = Rich Guy
Connect the dots.
Karma -> cheap level 70+ green karma gear -> Mystic Forge -> non-soulbound, salvagable level 70+ yellow gear -> ecto
welcome to nerf-landia.
Why not ascend the pears and lemons themselves?
coz they’re not exotics.
