Also, the traps are bugged I think since when an ennemy is on the ground the traps don’t trigger.
This is pretty annoying when you had a tough fight and you want to use your heal but the heal does not trigger…

Didn’t have time to check the heal trap, the others works fine in my test. Even when the enemy is in melee range is you drop the traps in my case trigger correctly.

Dragon Hunter

  • Hunters ward only deal dmg most of the times only the first impact. After that no new dmg is made, although the tooltip says is 4 impacts.
  • When using the Long bow, if not facing the enemy and you click LB#1 it will not turn back and begin to attack. This does not happen with any other skill in the LB, or said “there is not line of sight” or turn back to begin the attack.
  • The LB feels really slow with low dmg. To get the same speed as the ranger’s LB or tune the dmg to be more significant would be good for the weapon to became usable. No need to change the dmg done by True Shot, that one is very fine as right now.

Reaper

  • The GS skill 2 allows the player to fly around when chanelling. I don’t know if that’s intended. It’s really cool though.

45 – you conveniently forgot to add Beastly Warden to that list even though it has been mentioned throughout the thread. It hits through blocks, it hits through evades, which certainly shouldnt be the case and makes an absurdly strong trait completely overpowered.

It is meant to be that way same as fear. It’s negated by stability, same as fear.

Please fix the rangers sword skills

The chain sword skill #1 when in auto attack prevents the ranger from doing anything even cast another skill or dodge during 1 second allowing the player only to be able to executing anything only for 0.5 second every 2 seconds.
That’s the only skill in game for all classes that locks out the player in the animation and is really an annoyance and end up killing the player most of the times.
Being like it is our only viable melee weapon for condition builds this bug make really upsetting to play.
Also with the new traits like QuickDraw this skill behaviour is completely adverse and defeat the purpose of that trait, when you can’t cast anything else but the AA chain.

This has being pointed out so many times in the rangers forums but we didn’t get any answer from Anet about if they are thinking to fix it or it is intended to stay that so annoying way.

So please fix this annoying and upsetting bug or at least give us an explanation why we have the only skill in game that can’t be cancelled and locks us out from doing anything else that watch the screen or change the weapon.

are the dungeons and world bosses fun?

dungeons are fun if you don’t mind dying , and learning how to improve….

They are fun the 2 or 3 first runs same as Fractals. After that they are repetitive and boring, only good to farm their unique currency for the skins or fractals relics.
Same go for World Bosses, a massive hitbox standing right in the middle where you only need to stand and hit 1.

You could see that be in a team was required to play the Zaithen dungeon, and that didn’t work at all.
The problem with forcing players to group is that foments a toxic community, like you see in dungeons and fractals, wher if you like playing a necro or ranger you get no chance to be accepted in an group “lf exp warrior, ele, thief for fractals”

If it would be my choice i’d get rid of all dungeons/fractals altogether. they are the definition of repetitive and boring to the point it’s only run by farmers in a speed runs.

My choice would be to make a real living world, linking the events to enemies instead a locations so the enemy can move around shaping the world. Right now how the events are handled with a lot of players just waiting at the spawn spot just for farming is just bad.
The AI engine been able to send champs with the hordes to another city just to wipe it out would be cool. You’d be forced to talk to the NPCs to gather information of the whereabouts and direction of that champion and asks for help in the mapchat when you get to their location.
It would give new experiences like helping to break a siege or siege another city stronghold with some sense of continuity and that the players actions matter . Something like The Silverwastes without all that rinse and repeat that is embedded right now in the spawn system.

I like to play the game but the spawn system is so outdated.

[Suggestion] One click open full stack

Right now with the stacks of luck and silky sand sometimes we have to click through a thousand or more items in stacks of 250.
Is it possible to add an option in right click to use all stack so we don’t have to wear off the mouse buttons clicking? Or at least, is it possible to use a macro for that?

Also this could be expanded to other objects like silverwaste pouches and purses. If you do events you can easily end up with 200 pouches and if you go for bandits chests it could be much more. Get the option to open one stack with one click or al least open as much as possible until the inventory fills up would be a great help to speed up the process of getting the rewards and be able to go back to the game.

Exactly. Otherwise, how else can they make it more difficult to destroy stuff? Already people complain about having to type the name of items (especially if they have weird spelling) and even with that protection, I’ve heard about people “accidentally” deleting, because they just stopped paying attention after the Nth message.

I’m sympathetic to the OP situation and hope that Customer Service can help them. I don’t, however, think the solution is to make it harder for everyone else to delete stuff.

(Tip for those who do want to delete quickly when needing to type a complex name: link the item in chat, copy/cut it from chat, and paste it into the prompt; remove the square brackets and voila.)

Thanks everybody for your support, even the ones that didn’t seems to want to help.
The support team give me back the torch so all i can say i’m very impressed in a very good way how support handled this matter.

About the popups. That’s called selective blindness. I usually look at the messages in the popups, but when you are crafting and such the many messages became tedious and normal people tend to do this. However the reasons why i would move the torch that way instead double click into the rare they aren’t important for the core of this problem. Let’s call it fate.

Anyway i think they should ask to write the name of the ascended gear when you want to destroy it. I would even go further and make them indestructible, if you want them out of your inventory you can sell them at any merchant and get at least 1 gold for it. There is no point to been able to destroy such an unique and valuable items.

I would do the same with any other legendary/unique objects. Been able to sell them at the merchant allow the user to get it back in case it was an error.
Right now it’s too easy to throw away an unique item while my point is other items less important like tonics you have to write the full name of it like Endless Mordrem Teragriff Tonic with caps and all, although that you can buy this tonic at any bandit crest merchant.

Contact support. They may be able to replace the item for you, since it was clearly a mistaken deletion of the item.

As for the rest of your post: it’s honestly not too easy to destroy ascended gear. While I don’t disagree with the idea of adding a mechanic like the one for when you delete boosters and such, I don’t think it’s all that necessary. As long as people pay attention and don’t just autoclick without reading, incidents like this one will be few and far between.

I agree with you that with a popup asking to delete should be enough, but the problem is that there are too many already in game so for some people click the yes button became in a unconscious click.
That happened to me, when i realize that i destroyed the ascended instead swapping it for another yellow torch i had in the inventory at the time (the souldbind popup), it was too late.
Same could happen with any other ascended that you may move around.

It is too easy to destroy ascended gear, just move it out of your inventory and puff it’s gone.
Because there a lot of useless popups i, like i think most of the usual players, have developed a reflex to click yes in those popups without realize it.

this case i though it was another popup to move it from my equipped items to the inventory and use another torch instead. And you click and gone.

There is no way i could want to destroy any ascended. There is popup that ask you to write its name in useless stuff like the tonics, Why the ascended gear doesn’t have the same?

Right now i’ve lost a brazier of the Sunless and because i don’t have the crafting to craft another ascended i’ve lost a irreplaceable item from my inventory.

I think that’s not fair.

Changes so far.

Marked ‘fixed’:

  • Pet base stats
  • Ambidex bonus loss on non-loading-screen teleport
  • LoyF duration
  • BM Pet traits in downed state
  • We Heal As One/SotP traited tooltips
  • Nature’s vengeance passive chance
  • LB skill full cooldown on cancel

New bugs:

  • Natural healing now worse and does absolutely nothing
  • Ambidex not affecting throw torch
  • Windborne notes applying 1/3 duration regen on actual horn skill

I’ve marked the ‘fixed’ things strikethrough for now, in a week or so I’ll remove them unless I get reports that warrant their re-instatement.

P.S. The current count is 36. How this is acceptable more than a month after specializations landed, I have no idea.

Hi, i see natural healing working on my pets in PvE.

However stalker’s stride still not affected by Offhand Training became baseline. Still 250 units.

I’ve hit some of these compiled issues (like the 150 pet stats, some offhand range items and some pet traits not working while downed) and those should be getting addressed soon-ish.

We are working heavily on HoT and trying to get to these issues whenever time allows.

I hate to bring this back but i said this was going to happen. They new traits were another nerf and other classes were getting really buffed up.

PvE if you play glasscannon with LB seems easy because you pewpew dumb mobs from 1500. Same as you can do with ele but slower and worst.
Any other mode that is actually competitive simply is not for the ranger, Anet has passively stated that you have to reroll any other class (preferably warrior or ele) to be able to enjoy those modes. That’s a problem when the equipment is soulbound or the weapons/armour pieces aren’t usable by the new profession.
You have no choice if you want to play all game modes and play just with the 3 favourite classes.

Sword is bad. Unfortunately we don’t have any other weapon if you go condi.
After the new traits power ranger is not viable, we lost too much damage modifiers when we lost the traits.
Condi ranger still do weak damage compared to other classes. The weapons that are actually useful have other drawbacks that render them useless.

Sword is useless although is our best dps weapon. Sword#3 still misses too much, Sword#1 still effectively immobilize you.
Axe is a very bad weapon of choice. Axe MH is just too slow, Axe#2 has like a delay when cast that i can’t understand why it is there… Axe#5 root you in place.
We lost the extended range in our OH weapons. The bonfire is useless again, i though they said they saw we needed more room with those skills. Dagger without the extended range is just useless.

Spirits became useless when they got nerfed same as traps.

One good thing came out of this mess: i discover the shout ranger that actually can provide some support with runes of the tropper. That’s all.
I said before and i say it again: Anet just think the ranger as a PvE class for bots. We are the pariah of this game followed really close by the necro.
As i said before. There is none in actually charge of fixing/improving the experiencie with this class . They guy that did engie can not be in charge of another class like ranger, for what i saw he seems simply incapable of handling this two classes.

i think Heimskarl Ashfiend is right. Seems like we are getting consecrations, just i hope they don’t suck so much as the guardian’s that are really terrible with such a long CD.
I hope the staff is melee, we don’t need another ranged weapon and our melee ones aren’t great.

I would love to have just one pet, but they allow us to change their stats/skills to some extend. Right now we have like 4 different pets with many different skins.
Pet swap we could use it to “gain some pet hability”, we don’t have almost any access to stealth, reveal or resistance.

Support Ranger Build.

But for support build, can’t we use shout ranger with trooper? apply regen 130 hp per tick and swiftness for 10 seconds by each shout to up 5 allies around you. Plus cleanse one condition.
I find better support than that difficult to imagine.
Also you have a lot of room to became a power or condi, ranged or melee ranger.

Any other builds i’ve tested are just disappointing.

From the last small update the trait Natural healing does not provide the heal to the pet. Is supposed to provide an effect like Signet of the Wild and it did after the trait changes.
Now it doesn’t.

The rangers pet after the patch if you take BM and focus exclusively in pet durability, the pets get the needed survivability. However that doesn’t mean they are still good, thou better than necros minions.
The ones that talk here saying the rangers pet is “ok” is because they use the ranger only for PvE while if the play other modes the change to warrior.
The ranger’s pet is still very unresponsive. Most of the time does not follow the command (F2,F3) ot takes up to 5 seconds to operate. That to me seems like a bug.

Necro minions are simply broken. When a minion does not attack when is supposed to that’s the definition of bug. And necro does not have any other source of actually do damage its weapons are a joke.
I pointed out in other comment: bone minions seems to be working fine most of the time. I would get rid of the rest of the minions and change the minions utility skills to skills that buff the minions in some way (extra damage, transfer condis, sifon life…).
And make the bone minion skill to F2 and use life force for upkeep. F3 to explode.
That way the problem of having too many objects in game is solved because you will only keep them as long as needed and we have our small army when the situation requires it.

Like someone else said already: warrior, engie and ele are the Anet’s pets. Necro and ranger are the pariah of this game.
Would you like to play WvW, PvP, dungeons or fractals? Forget your necro or ranger, reroll or stay in general Pve content doing the same everyday. Otherwise you will be cast out (dungeons or fractals) because the class is to broken or killed without a fighting chance (wvw, pvp).

I don’t like when I’m told which play style or how i must play because i can’t use the character of my choice.. This game do that for us.

They did the biggest balance patch in history hours ago. And yet u still complain.

They didn’t balance anything. They changed things and that is not the same as balance, the bugs are still there, from 2 years ago.

They did power creep in some classes to the point they needed to double the hp pool in all the bosses while other classes are being neglected to look upon and to be actually fixed-

I don’t like that.

I am not sure guyz. Ranger is now able to blow 4 blast finishers in combat, one after another. I find it enough. I’m not saying that it wouldn’t be nice to be as OP as eles have been for years, but I just don’t need more.

How do you do that? I only know Hunters Call as blast finisher, which you can trigger 2 times with weapon and trait. And there is a blast finisher on drake pets, but you can’t control that.

The long CD ability is the 1st ability a pet will use if you don’t give him any order (not even the attack order).

Yes, for this you need to keep them on Aggressive.
It’s close to as you say – you don’t have control of those abilities – but you know when to expect them.

Yep, you only can cast 2. Tragic Positive is a positive thinker and always tend to make ranger looks better than actually it is. There are a couple of users like that in this forums, and i think because of that anet don’t take seriously anything we write here.

Yes, this is definitely the whole and only reason and I’m definitely the one responsible for so many changes we received from A-net the 2 last big updates (but only the bad ones, of course).

And it doesn’t have anything in common that they rarely read any ideas in Ranger forums, or that they do not main rangers themselves.

And it’s exactly that I disagree with the QoL buff to make it a 15 sec. CD. And you can even see it in my comment. Oh wait. I accidentally left that out. I only mentioned that I wouldn’t make a huge use of it in PvE or sPvP anyways (since I don’t WvW much theses days)

I think you are giving yourself too much credit for something no one from anet said.
The QoL shouldn’t have ICD because the boons don’t last enough except for swiftness. You would know that if you would have used it.

That you don’t use that trait doesn’t mean other users find it useful and is very irrespective from you to say is ok when is not. Very bearbow like if i may say.
In my case i didn’t find the exploit i don’t use tonics. But i was using QoL as intended, every pet swap while in combat and that was useful.

If the Devs must they should have stablish an ICD as a lot of ppl said: a trait that is activated by other actions that have CD should have the same ICD as that action’s CD.
Otherwise is just hell to manage that. Here just using common sense.

See what happened to the spirits with the: i don’t know how much time has left to cast the skill .

They keep nerfing instead fixing other stuff like sword#1 or even to be able to see in my bar what conditions/boons are affecting my pet.

I’m kinda bored because in my server 60% sPVP players are ranger pewpew… lol

But yea greatsword is the best option in sPVP for a full power longbow build because maul can finish anyone easily when they try to come close and the block / knockback too.
Not to mention the added mobility and the stun that can be very handy.

You don’t need to be superglass to play pewpew, and now you should be able to output condi with LB as well.

Ranger issues that need fixed

^ Yes, what you said. I know LB ranger has the rep of being a one button class and I guess that is true on face value- it did have one heavy hitting attack. On a deeper level, though, that one button was pretty complex: were you in the right position to get combos? Were you able to do something to buff you prior to hitting it? Were you as max range as you could be or as elevated as possible? Was your pet in position? Which target was the best to hit? Were you watching the battlefield so you knew they couldn’t dodgeroll or a theif wasn’t about to sneak in and interrupt your one-hit-wonder?

*That one button press had a lot of setup behind it- it was a high-stake game where we put all of our chips in. *

Some people might not have enjoyed the playstyle but, for me, it was fantastic. I know my presence on an SPVP map made a difference and it was when I was going all Legolas-mode that I felt the most ranger-y. I didn’t just use the bow, I /was/ the bow. ;P

Anyway, drifting back on topic, as Anduriell said, RF was not any more op than spin-to-win or backstab. It was just a moderate high damage spell that had plenty of counters. Other classes were (and are) better at pve and pvp dmg output so it’s not like they instituted the nerfs to bring us into line with other classes’ dmg-per-buttonpress.

Actually i find LB the most complex weapon in game.
Most of the weapons in other professions are mostly 12345 with some very rare exceptions.

Each LB skill has a very defined niche:
- #1 basic AA attack
- #2 to as opener/finisher.
- #3 to disengage (although 3 secs i find too weak to be taken seriously)

Other professions is just hit sequentially the buttons while you are in combat. No brainer and that’s why i find guardian so boring.

Another nerf in ranger profession was uncalled for and really annoys the hell out of me.

Yes the marketing department in Anet did the correct move giving the char slot extra with the expansion, but unfortunately that’s not enough for me.

After more than 2 years some professions are still broken and instead listening their players they just ignore them or simply do the opposite as asked breaking thing even more.

There are some classes that haven’t been fixed and balanced in more than 2 years and you only need to read the amount of threads complaining in some forums, that anet seems to ignore.

So this tells me the dev team or at least the team in charge of balancing the game has been neglecting those professions and that for me at least is a very bad sign on how they behave towards their costumers, that’s us the players.

There were no supposed to be matches were you knew the outcome before the match itself, well if your enemy is a ranger or necro you know you’ll win.
And also to win you know what classes to roll.

And that’s ugly and very disappointing. And as i said after more than 2 years playing that character i will not reroll another just for competitive play.

Indeed the players that got lucky and play with some of the professions that have it easy will think i’m wrong, but i’m pretty sure there are a lot of more gamers that can not play they profession of choice because is just a joke how is balanced and designed.

So i this point i don’t trust Anet to deliver a good game play. And my money goes where i feel it worth it and some game that get me angry because they actually refuse to address their costumers complains is not worth it. I don’t want to keep playing with a profession game play full of bugs and that is not designed to be played in any mode the game has to offer.

Is LB no longer a viable SPVP weapon?

I don’t see why you shouldn’t use LB having in mind that could output a decent amount of damage (decent is not great thou).
And also you can use it to catch up with those that like to run away when the things get hairy. Ranger does not have any teleport/blink, and our swoop (GS) is only 900 units.
That LB could give you that couple of shots to down’em for good.

With condi-necros pumping out high and fast debuffs and thieves being able to kill within the span of a GCD, the bow- and the builds needed to make bows decent instead of mediocre- offers no real draw. There’s many drawbacks to running LB and no real benefit. “You can hit from a bit further away than any other class” means hardly anything when that damage is lowered and baseline stats are higher than previously. That extra range might have bought us 2-3k burst damage before, now it gets us 1k.

Now I might just be a bit sore, but it seems like they took ranger from 3 viable builds- trapper, condi, powerbow- to two. Condi and traps were already pretty decent (I have three rangers, one of each spec) but LB was the most unique and fun for my style of play and it’s sad to see that longbows, which currently only are used by two classes, are on the out. The melee playstyle of rangers now is no different than any other mid-to-short range class.

That’s because they (Anet) nerfed the scaling dmg in the LB and said nothing
kitten move in my opinion, another one.

If the LB would works as it was supposed with the new range and speed LB would be a reliable weapon. Right now is almost useless, just to run maps in pve although you could stop wasting your time and roll another professions.
If your case is like mine and the other classes seems to easy (thief/warrior/ele) or too boring (mesmer/guard) my advise is for you to change games.

In more than 2 years i have yet to see real balance with the ranger and fix all those annoying broken bugs ranger has.
They guy that should be taking care of this class is obviously partying…

Yes, dmg with the longbow has been nerfed somehow.
Same build as b4 2.1K power and i don’t do same damage: my number are closed to what Indy point out. Something how the damage output is scaled in LB has changed and that’s another nerf. I need close to 2.5 K power to get the numbers from before.
Anet nerf the LB but not saying anything

That’s is trash compared to the 2.5 K a warrior can do with GS AA with a power build.

Again: LB is the weapon that define the ranger, and that weapon has to works as always. I’m bored of ppl that play casual ranger in silverwastes to do just chest farming and come here saying that RF is OP.

I am not sure guyz. Ranger is now able to blow 4 blast finishers in combat, one after another. I find it enough. I’m not saying that it wouldn’t be nice to be as OP as eles have been for years, but I just don’t need more.

How do you do that? I only know Hunters Call as blast finisher, which you can trigger 2 times with weapon and trait. And there is a blast finisher on drake pets, but you can’t control that.

Yep, you only can cast 2. Tragic Positive is a positive thinker and always tend to make ranger looks better than actually it is. There are a couple of users like that in this forums, and i think because of that anet don’t take seriously anything we write here.

In other forums the people realize when something is a nerf (intended or not) and they complain when they feel they have.

As a lot of ppl said in this thread: ICD equal to pet swap (15 secs) is fine. 30 with no way to know what is going on is bsht.

Again, it’s not a nerf. The 30s ICD was announced during the AMA Livestream but was bugged when the update went live. The ICD was supposed to have “synergy” with Nature Magic and taking “Windborne Notes.” (Their words, not mine.)

Again even in that case is a sh*te move very lazy indication of how the dev team behaves, clarion bond did work fine, the exploit about having the pet hidden should be fixed with a ICD same as we have to swap pets with BM.
I can live with that because that is the real intended use.

Now this trait is just insulting to any intelligent person. Again: is not like ranger is OP or is in the first positions of PvP .

Necro and Ranger needs a lot of attention simply because Anet has neglect those professions for too long, giving all the resources to engie/ele/warrior/thief.
Instead fixing all the bugs and OP builds you can see around : There is a thief build that can shadow Step to you from 1200 units, stun you, immobilise you, apply massive poison and keep doing massive damage with melee. Kill me in 1 second.
1 second literally and i have 2.7K armour and 20K hp.
I didn’t have time even to hit the stun breaker….

So i would ask to the devs to focus to fix our traps and spirits that got so nerfed that none dare to use them any more. Even the frost spirit has been extinct completely.

Instead use the common sense.
Really.. after all the nerfs we got and still nerfing.

Yep, offhand training got stripped off: another nerf.
After loosing power based on vitality and a lot of dmg modification we got this.

I hate to point it out but Anet is working hard to make the ranger the pariah of gw2. Like if the nerfs in traps and spirits that make that no ranger is using them right now would be enough….

There is no need to change the trait. It’s linked already to too many exclusions:
- You have to be in combat
- Linked to pet swap (that could be 15 secs or 40…)

I still can’t believe this, after all the nerfs we have and they still nerfing around.

For thieves the only skill that actually works is the good old sic’em.
The taunt again is too erratic to be useful. The radius is so small that the pet has to be on the thief, thing that will not happen if the guy is stealthed and running around.

Nice on paper, broken in real life like most of our skills.

they should put an ICD same as we have to swap the pet.
However i don’t see the exploit there, the trait is linked to swap pets and that already have an ICD. That trait already have Internal Colldown and that is the pet swap… 30 secs just kitten that trait up.
Like we have many usable things right now.

This is a lazy fix from Anet and a reprehensible one that defines how their Devs work, again throwing trash to the the rangers. Instead fixing the massive amount of condis that can apply other professions with just one attack.

Also this kind of nonsense moves from the Devs that so obviously hate ranger profession are the ones that keep me from buying any expansion. Tired of this kind of crap.

Thoughts about the ranger in twitch stream

I got really depressed when i saw the ranger by DPS in twitch.
It shown a really poor performance, damage really really low, even lower than now (obviously you can see the missing damage traits) and comparing to other classes seems so weak, deeply weak and i think i was right to foresee the ranger become the pariah.

Some of you may think the streamer didn’t know how to play the ranger but even the basic damage seems really poor.
When he shown the traps it was so sad. The damage and conditions so weak…

I don’t know how it could improve. You can think like using long attack chains but actually i don’t think we still have the sustain to stay in place for long, most of our attacks root us (sword, barrage, whirling defence, maul…)

The condition damage didn’t look good either, Bleeding 2K per tick, something that is weak compared to other classes shown in the same stream.

Do We Deserve The Engi Treatment?

Problem here is not the class itself that we already stated it’s nerfed to oblivion. Even Necro got better treatment with the trait than the ranger.
The problem here is that there are too many casual rangers while they main another class. They use ranger from time to time to play something where you actually have to play but for competitive gameplay they use their main, engineer warrior or elementalist.

So that kind of posters will never push for a fair treatment for this profession because they are not interested. You can see that simply by the statements, when they begin to say thing like “spirits are good” or “pets are going to be very good” obviously they don’t play with this profession enough to see all the broken and bugged things this profession has.
About the guy that is in charge of both classes it’s clear that he does not play with ranger ever. For how he talked about synergy was clear to me that he dedicated all his time for the engie.

At this point is just disappointment what i’m feeling.

To be honest, you used Wolves for CC before.
Now you can use Bears for the very same purpose.

I can see the BearBow meta becoming meaningful for PvP.
By the way – I made a new topic about PvE DPS. The Bow part is becoming meta there, too.

Yep although i think condition builds will come strong. And BM line like a must.

We both agree here.
But I can still find some people cautious around that trait… Since pets will still have issues with surviving (much lover, but still) and if you wanted the pet to be extremely scary and sustainable – you’d have to sacrifice Quick Draw (Boon Sharing to pet in NM, Bark Skin in Wilderness).

Well the trait go for the eyes gives +300 toughness to the pet, i see that helping with survival.
Other than that you have to forget support(spotter) and go WS – BM – MS.
and skills use shouts and survival (maybe SoS could stay…).
Even then the build is weak as i see with a lot of loopholes, but well is what they gave us.

Just let be clear: we don’t have meta because our profession is weak so really doesn’t matter what you play in PvE.

The quickness on pet swap is the only one that fits in. It works great in combination with F2 skills. But giving the player quickness and both parties might as well? That starts turning pet swap into a method of burst damage.

This is the issue I’m trying to get across, which I probably explained poorly in my OP; pet swap is being turned into a means of boon and condition application when it should be a way to manage pets. Traits should be granting effects that support this management, such as applying quickness which speeds up the next pets F2. Other effects, like applying posion, vigor, and granting quickness to the player, belong in other places.

ANY boon on swap fits in, as its a boon on your pet! Are you serious? So, you don’t want a fresh pet to be immediately buffed up when swapping to it? Pet swapping is a major mechanic for Rangers and needs to have effects on it.

Ok realx your horses here, the OP has reason to think like that.

Always is how you play ranger, the OP made some very good points. If you have two pets with 2 different F2 you may want to save them to the appropiate moment.
Clear enough brown bear and cabbage dog.
If you swap pets like crazy you may miss the healing or the cleanse when you really needed.

Not all of the rangers use the pets only for the DPS output but for a more complex micromanaging of their skills.

We have yet to see how the conditions/boons really scale.
The problem i see now with the regen provided in traits is that it scales very poorly.
Some helpfull healing should be around the numbers of the moa healing streech (3k).
500 hp in 10 secs of regen is not an amount to have in mind.

The problem with bears is that they do very little damage: base 300 while dogs do base of 500.
So even if you use taunt the damage would be minimal.

As someone said before the best choice is to use birds, they have very low CD so if the trait hasn’t ICD should viable to keep the enemy far.
Otherwise 2 secs taunt i don’t see much uses in PvP or WvW.
In PvE not many either.

Although the idea is cool.
