Oh. I get it. I see why they nerfed Guard now. It’s like they wanted to nerf sustain, so they just slashed every damage reduction trait across board. They hit mesmers, necros, and engies as well.
Eh, it’s no better or worse than any other class changes. We weren’t in a bad spot so we didn’t need major buffs to maintain relevant. We were super OP and so we didn’t get slammed with a nerf bat.
And to be fair, they did fix the major bugs with glyphs and enlargement kicking us out. And I’m pretty sure changing the pet skill cooldowns was something that people have asked for. I did request adjustments to moa, wyverns and bears. They managed to hit at least 1 of the three.
This is pretty standard as far as patches go.
It was meta in PvP before they removed cele amulet. Druid, BM, and MM with remorseless and MoC. Run it with Hydro sigil for instant seed proc and MoC for the extra damage modifier.
But then condi got super prevalent so now you pretty much have to take the condi clear trait over that instead.
Just get a divorce and play more.
A+ plan.
You don’t get opening strike from interrupts. Are you referring to the damage bonus from Moment of Clarity? Cause you aren’t getting any opening strike bonuses without fury.
Also, you don’t seem to have any condi damage, so the expertise is just going to waste. If you want vigilant for the toughness/boon duration, you could look into commanders or wanderers. Expertise doesn’t increase daze or stun duration since those aren’t conditions.

Just go full nomads/minstrels with durability runes. Throw in some clerics pieces if you want to pretend you’re doing damage. You probably won’t die to anything but a 1v3, but you probably won’t kill anything either.
Alternatively go dire condi trap. Add in however much healing armor pieces you feel you need from settlers or shamans. You might be able to kill people with it.
Except playing PvP isn’t earning HP at all. PvE players still have to go out of their way to earn their HP, they aren’t just handed out. You should have to do so as well
Proof of Heroics.
Proofs of heroics aren’t handing out hero points, they are earned just as in PvE.
Explain to me the difference between earning proof of heroics from ranking up in WvW track and proof of heroics from ranking up in PvP.
We also don’t need gear and tomes of knowledge in PvP. But Anet decided we should get them to unify the game modes.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/pvp-reward-tracks-and-gear-unification/A way to get hero points is the next logical step.
Many of us here may primarily be PvPers, but we also play other game modes. A PvEr or WvWer can come to sPvP and not be disadvantaged. They don’t have to worry about levels or gear or elite specs. At worst they might need to unlock an amulet/sigil/rune. But those are unlocked through gold which can be earned outside PvP.
PvPers wanting to get into the other game modes? We have to worry about levels, gear, and unlocking elite specs. But we’re not asking for those things to just be handed to us. We’re fine earning it. Just let us earn it in PvP.

You get eggplants for placing in gold too…
It’s like Anet was literally telling us to go kitten ourselves.
I’m so glad they changed the way rallying worked in WvW now.
The lord in HotM seems to be skipping his downed state, is it bugged for anyone else?
On the other hand, if I could spectate the matches myself I think I would enjoy it a lot more. Watching top players fight 1v1s/1v2s/2v2s with the classes I play is a lot more entertaining than the constant skipping around the official streams do. If there was ever a system added to replay matches with full spectator control I think the ‘esports’ scene would be in a much better place. There are still a lot of gameplay issues that make the game a pain to watch for most players that need attention, though.
This.
Half the time I see a player making an interesting play on the mini map and I want to see what’s going on there. But no, we get to spectate a revenant dodging a billion times in a row and hear casters screaming about his pro dodge spams. Or an ele trying to res through cleave in a teamfight.
Zerk druids and condi druids bring no healing power. If you’re joining groups that are specifically asking for a magi’s druid, that’s a different issue.
What about Zealot Druid?
That’s fine too. But I vaguely remember someone crunching the numbers and figuring out that full zealot dps/healing wasn’t significantly better than either magis or zerk and it wasn’t worth it for most players to craft a whole new set of zealots armor.
I guess it you’re rolling in gold maybe. But my experience is people either want you in zerk if they’re good and don’t take that much damage and want to squeeze out as much DPS from you as possible for speed clears. Or they run magis to keep everyone constantly topped off at 90% for scholar runes and healer doesn’t need to worry about anything else.

Queue first. Then right when your queue pops, start your guild mission.
When you swap pets, the pet’s field disappears too.
Drop the spirit trait, the extra range and health doesn’t matter that much when you’re fighting over a node and you have no chase ability. Also you continue to benefit from the spirit even after it’s dead, it lasts until the body disappears.
Drop the Ax GM trait. Ferocity is useless to you, and AOE chill doesn’t make a significant difference. Meanwhile extra CC from taunt or the boons from petswapping will help more. At least you can use the quickness to channel your heal skills faster.
What role do you want this build to play? You don’t have the mobility to be a roamer. The spirit makes me think you want to be a teamfighter, but you’re not quite survivable enough for it. It looks like you want to focus on 1v1s?
Who the hell still uses SnR in PvP nowadays?
Yes I’ve definitely had this issue, especially in the last month or so. I’ve had cases where I’ve DCed out of games while my TS is working fine, resulting in dishonors. This only happens to me during PvP and raids. Never during open world.
I got fed up and ran the trace rout as recommended by the main website, but nothing looks out of ordinary. Haven’t contacted support about it because it just happens so randomly. Some days it’s perfectly fine, other days I’m ruberbanding all over the map multiple times through several games.
Pretty sure it’s not my PC. I don’t know how to check if it’s my ISP though, but I figure if other programs are working fine in the background, it must be a GW2 issue.
Seems reasonable. I’ll put it on the list of things to look into.
^Can you also put Glyph of Rejuvenation not healing pet to the list as well too? I know the tooltip doesn’t specify pet, but it doesn’t seem right that your pet has to be in range and count as an ally to receive the secondary heal.
Custom arena wouldn’t work, unless Anet massively reworks them. Make it so you can add or disable certain amulets or traitlines. Core just wouldn’t be the same without celestial amulet you know. And you have no way of ensuring everyone abides by the rule unless you have the owner constantly police everyone.
What they could do is maybe make it like a week long event? Like some sort of “Throwback week” similar to WvW golemn rush?
Or maybe during off season, have a “core” queue option instead of disabling ranked for months.
You know, when it comes down to it, it’s really all about skill, not build.
Eurantien can carry teams on a F2P core ranger berserker build while playing on EU ping all the way to legend.
That said carrying just comes down to being able to take on outnumbered fights, win it, go plus your team to help them win that, and go back to taking on outnumbered fights again.
Been having this issue all season. No problems the last few seasons before, just now. Lagged so hard I DCed twice out of the game even though the rest of my internet was fine. Kept getting random spikes to 400-1000 in middle of the game and teleporting around. Skill lag/flashing skills and not going off.
Ran a traceroute as recommended by support and found nothing wrong with my network. IDK what’s going on.
That looks like 2015 leaderboard formula using ladder points, not the Glicko hidden MMR that’s like in the thousands range…
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Matchmaking_Algorithm#Ladder
The MMR ratinggs I think he’s talking about is:
<Rating default="1500" min="100" max="5000" max-change="300" profession-ratio="0.25"/>Hey, 2.5k is an improvement! I’m pretty sure it was 1.8K the last few games.
Anet plz…make glyphs great again.
Stop, just wait like 3 weeks and try again. If you still can’t make it, then consider paying for it.
:/ maybe the quicker unload will mean Bristleback can fully land everything in the space of a single taunt?
But man, that takedown nerf…
While this would be interesting, I doubt they have a system in place that would make it work like that.
Probably much easier to ask for a significant buff (like reflecting 50% damage) to the primary mode than to ask for something that will require them coding a new way to apply and monitor buff/debuff duration.
Well the condition spreading could work like necro’s Epidemic, while boon sharing could work like the current WHaO.
There was a thread a while ago about improving Glyph of Unity since it’s pretty lackluster for an elite and only brought in PvE so we can either do a burst heal in CAF or just spam it off cooldown for the seed.
One of the suggestions were to rework it completely so that you share boons to tethered allies in one state, and share conditions to tethered enemies in another state.
Thoughts?
Look at the health. It’s standard menders dolyak.
If he really wanted to go for a troll Pokémon trainer build, he could’ve used GotL to buff his pets. Not seeing much milage out of AS.
don’t rub meta or in the other terms meaner neener in his face , he learned how to use that build on his own and that is better than doing a copy + paste then trying to play to a level his not Acustomed to.
Sure, but wouldn’t you want to check to see what already exists before you start experimenting? Other people have already mapped out a build, and done entire DPS spreadsheets of all different variants of ranger builds. Then you wouldn’t have to spend extra time reinventing the wheel.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4g7y77/heres_a_dps_comparison_of_43_ranger_builds/
You’re a little late buddy. It’s been meta for a while.
Don’t worry about it. You would’ve just gotten a ton of eggplants that you can buy for karma anyways.
The real problem for Druid is the amulet selection. Druid kinda needs some sort of healing component, and there are only a few amulets that have it. I still can’t believe they removed crusader.
I would love to see some sort of Power, Precision, Vitality, Healing power amulet.
Or something like Crusaders with vitality instead of the toughness. Having more vitality might be useful since it looks like we’re entering into a condi meta, and vitality could be a decent enough buffer.
Is there anything that could create a shift in perception with unranked that would solve these problems?
If I knew of a way to affect player perceptions, I’d be working at Riot :P
But generally, I don’t think it’s a good idea to mix together players with different goals. Casual and hardcore players just don’t enjoy playing with each other. That’s why so many games have separate queues of ranked and unranked, and why even in PvE there’s so much whining about toxicity and elitism.
Even if after a while, “hardcore” players raise their MMR to a point where they don’t get teamed up/against “casuals”, they still might want to take a break to learn a new class or test a build. They have no way of doing so without interfering with their “harcore” teammates goals. To avoid messing up their teammate’s games, they’d either have to go into a hotjoin zergfest, or just make a new account or something.
At least with 2 queues, they have the option of unranked.
We can create a new MMR that is used during off season, but it’d have the same problems as unranked in that it is dormant 8 weeks at a time. If we continued to use ranked MMR, would that be a problem for when the new season begins? Would people try to tank their MMR in the off-season to try and get easier matches?
I mean, consider it as 3 separate modes with separate MMRs independent of each other. Unranked, Ranked, and Leagues.
During League seasons, disabled Ranked and freeze everyone’s MMR and start using Leagues matchmaking system. Replaced the "Ranked’ button with “Leagues”. After Leagues, re-enable “normal” Ranked queues with the frozen MMR from before.
It’d also give you data to compare the MMR of players who play ranked regularly and the MMR from Leagues.
Evan, would it be possible to freeze everyone’s old ranked MMR from Pre-leagues and re-enable that along with the old ranked matchmaking after every league season?
I think that’s what most players are asking for.
It’s not just because unranked has bad matchups from decayed or volatile MMR. It’s also a human nature issue from player perceptions. Unranked games typically have a more casual mindset, and as such people don’t really take the games as seriously.
Warrior out of the meta for 6 months and OP thinks it’s been 3.5 years. Maybe you should take a break.
Looks like they got inspiration from wushu straightsword flowers.
It looks like they were trying to go for something like this?
We don’t need a league system of ranked, can’t we just have the ranked that was around between the last leaderboard season and the start of HoT?
It’s like you guys forgot about everything that happened before leagues dropped. Why do you think people were played ranked ques back then without a leader board and no increase in rewards? It had competitive maps (no courtyard, skyhammer, spirit watch) and players in general took it more seriously.
That looks like a bug, you should post that in the bug forums. Try posting on the gw2 reddit for help too, it’ll get you more attention at least.
Do you have the druid traitline equipped though?
90% of pvp players die more to DH than to revs. Anet has to cater to the 90%.
Kind of like how in the past, rangers kept getting nerfed because people couldn’t dodge rapid fire or LOS even though there was only 1 ranger playing competitively.
And that’s why Infuse Light and Coalescence of Ruin got nerfed too. Great skills vs bad players, trash against good ones. So yeah those kind of nerfs happen all the time.
Unfortunately. Bad players need to l2p. If Anet doesn’t balance around top level and only caters to PvErs, how the heck can they expect anyone to take their esports attempts seriously?

Does this mean I’m not forced to bring SnR anymore? I’m kind of sick of having a skill that takes a slot on my utility bar whose usage is reliant on my teammates going down…
If you used https://www.gw2pvp.de/web/ to track your games, you can export your past games in an csv file and crunch some numbers.
A quick comparison between S1 and S2 showed that on average, the final score difference in S2 for me was about 233.5909091 while S1 195.1089109. About 38.
Meanwhile before leagues, my avg score difference was 206.5259259.
Unfortunately, somewhere between S1 and S2, I accidentally deleted my API key so my results only contain 14 days of data for S1 and 41 for S2. So the scores might be way off base. If other players have been tracking their PvP scores, it might be interesting to see if we really did have more blowout games in S2 compared to S1.
There should be a limited number of players in Legendary. Like if you are not in the top 500, you drop back to Diamond. Increase rewards for Legendary game wins, and then a final reward for staying in Lege until the end of the season.
