Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!
People hate to be punished and probably won’t care anyway. So let’s reward people for staying. ^^
^Yes, balance incoming end of june. Probably with the new spvp map and putting CA/SM out of beta.
Don’t think it’ll contain the split for soloq. Only decay and shoutcaster thingy will be in. Lets hope for the end of june update.
I have it since two patches ago. Sometimes it dissapears after playing a while, sometimes it comes when playing a bit. This highly annoying. It affects guildlist, friendlist and party.
I mostly pvp and everytime I win a match with a team, i get back in HoTM and I’m out of the party. Thus I need to be reinvited every single time. Sometimes even completely getting out of the game/relogging doesn’t work. I’ve sent a ticket about a week ago.
^ You have literally nothing to add to these forums. It’s rather sad. (And now you’ll say: gw2 is sad, blah blah… )
^Tournament scene is none existent?? Tournaments are being organised since CA/SM are in beta. It’s a start.
^Hearth of the mists
Replay + pause function + Lords/bosses hp bar and announcement to spectators. This would help them and the tournies a bit.
We need a replay functionality. Because there are so many nice subtle plays that don’t get spotted. It’s nearly impossible to catch everything on the fly. Blu’s new show ‘weekly rewind’ is a good start, but actual ingame replay possibilites are needed.
Need healthbars on lords viewable + lord/gate dmg should be announced to spectators too. Look at: MiM vs Sleepy!
Another one (since MMORPG tourny):
Pause function.
I only hope that all the features they’re planning to implement are well tought out. Too many times they’ve implemented stuff that needed serious rework (i.e the whole queuing stuff). It’s a waste of time/resources.
Too bad it’s so hard to carry in gw2. You are very dependant on your team.
1. Solo Q
2. Automated tournaments a la GW1.
3. More comeback possibilities for clutch play. Give us more than 1 way to win.
Lol at avead haha <3
I want automated tournaments asap.
I just don’t solo queue until it gets split. Meanwhile carrying a team is hard alone but with 2 it’s a little better. So I mostly duo-queue with a friend.
There is however the podcast from SOAC this friday (i think). It will have jonathan on it. Don’t know if there’s a SOTG planned.
^I think they’re working on it since the outcry when they implemented it. Might be rather hard to do technically.
I want more fluff in the chests. Everlastings, mini’s (Ghostly hero mini pls :p), etc. Drop chance may be uber low, It would make opening those chests a little bit more worthwile.
And gems should be rewarded either in team queu or in the AT’s.
Make treb shots red or blue. Makes it easier for casters and watchers to see who’s trebbing.
Should the time limit (now: 15min) be increased for real tournaments? This discussion popped up in twitch chat when TP fought TCG on foefire. The timer ran out when there was a last push on lord from TP.
Can someone provide the link of the match when its posted on youtube?
Please discuss.
I think they talked in the past about traits altering your weapon skills. This sounds good, but I don’t know how viable it would be to implement this. Anyway, I agree that there should be an increase in individual skill layers. It’s all about teamplay atm (which isnt bad ofc :p) but I feel like the possibility to get a higher individual skill level would benefit the game.
Altering weapon skills through traits would add some diversity (but like the current situation: it needs balancing and a good implementation or there would be no diversity).
An increase in the combo-field teamplay would be good too imo.
Remove down-state, and you remove a skill-layer from the game. The last thing GW2 needs is less layers. It’s already dumbed down a lot.
I’d say they should go further with the secondaries. Give more ways to come back/win. Clutch play is fun to watch.
^ You’re first suggestion (picture in picture) is something that I think would be really beneficial!! +1
We’ll see an increase in solo-q. Team queue will be ‘empty’ unless there’s a solid reward structure implemented.
^ All those ideas are nice, if the population is big. Splitting queues is needed but we don’t want the long queue times again. They need to do it carefully.
^I know that. But splitting queues is something they want to do since we got the solo-q. So that’s about 2 months? But yeah, it should have been split from the get-go.
Well I think splitting queues are being worked on. I don’t think it’s as easy as it sounds.
Balance is good imo, now we just need more build diversity without breaking the balance.
There are way to many variables to make big changes. I like the slow approach.
^ That’s what Anet wanted. To have an entry-friendly pvp. And I agree with them to a degree. I loved GvG in gw1 but it was very harsh on new teams/players.
If you drop downed state, another skill layer would disappear. The game doesn’t need to be dumbed down even more. Balance it a bit more? Why not. But drop it? Nah.
They talked about improving it a while back. I think it’s somewhere on the priority list but not at the top.
Solo/team queue split needs to come. I find myself never solo-queuing ’cus of it. But there has to be incentives to do tournies as a team. As of right now there a population issues and splitting it will make it even more noticeable. So I hope, when Anet implements the split, they are gonna incentivise playing as a team. This could also be done by implementing the dailies/weeklies/monthlies -complementary with the solo/team split-with good rewards to boost the amount of teams.
For teams to be created there needs to be incentives. As of last patch these incentives are getting created by the community itself. But it is more esport-oriented. Anet should add reasons to team up too (casually/esport). This would contain team/solo split, daily/weekly/monthly AT with better rewards!
Anyway another +1 for this initiative.
MMORPG is planning to do monthlies too.
I would like to see: A little screen with sidepoints/midpoint coverage when things are happening in two places. The way they sometimes do it in LoL. I dont know if it’s a feature LoL’s spec mode has or they just do it themselves.
They should seperate player slots from spectator slots. Make the spectator cap 5 persons or something.
We should start a thread for ‘shoutcasting feedback’. This way we can help em all with suggestions.
Make people get the credit even if they only touch the node that’s being captured. Maybe then they’ll not stand around with 3 capping a node.
Nye, I noticed some hotjoinheroes duo/triple capping close at the beginning…
Ranger synergyses very nicely with ele. Loving it atm <3
If they would do it unlimited it would crash with the first big tournament. This is more targetted towards shoutcasters. They’ll stream it. As for an in-game spectator lobby like gw1, that’s always welcome. Just pick some high-rated tournies and when you add dailies/weeklies make those pop up in there too.
Should be able to pull different screens so you can show a main-fight and another fight. (Like they do in LoL sometimes)
I hope anet starts to put some advertising up for community-driven tournies. Maybe like an esports-blog held by the pvp-CM’s and a link in the GW2 launcher.
+1 good idea!!!
Daily/weekly/monthly automated tourny infrastructure is needed.
+1 bump. Good luck!
