It’s because pvp is now accesible from everywhere. I’ve had leavers 50% of the time. It’ll get better when they learn there’s dishonorable now and the shinieness wears off.

10 queues to get rating (dunno if this applies to soloq too) and the matchmaking needs rating. So, no1 has rating atm. Give the system a bit time.
They want us to play the game not the UI. I support that but we do need distinct animations in return.
And yes, it’s really frustrating to soloq atm. But things will get better when we all get a rating.
Yes, the loading screens are frustrating atm. I also think the timer to get in a match is a bit short atm.

That’s true. And I’m all for more visibility. But I’d say there’s more important stuff to take care off atm.
Though the moment we get ingame announcement (which I support), there’ll be a bunch of pve’ers whining on the forums.
At the end of august the game will be 1 year old. The end of the first cycle, the beginning of the next. It might be entirely possible that everything that was temporal until now might return yearly. A lot of stuff is confirmed to come back like the SAB and the festivals and I support these content cycles.
It doesn’t spread the population too much, it creates very populated zones with every (re)release, makes us look forward to stuff (Most of it will be expanded on/altered) and it keeps it fresh rather then getting burned out on it.

3 million people bought it and thus for them its free to play. There will be another milestone pretty soon, probably released on the first anniversary (stated by Colin). The game still needs to be released in other major parts of the world. Every 2 weeks there are new updates, new announcements and thus recreating (a little bit) of hype. As you said, the game is being supported atm through the gem shop and apparently it’s going good.
And one last thing: the game isn’t as expensive anymore as at launch and will continue to drop in price.
They promoted it pretty much everywhere. They just need a more central place for ‘gw2 esports’. A specific blog/website that also get’s attention on the normal means of communication. But is this really that important? The game lacks viewers, ’cus of a lack of population that does pvp and lack of interest to watch it.
So one zone with 75 people, where the ‘raid/zerg’ part requires 20-30 people. There will be merchants and there will be afk’ers. There are 6 ‘rooms’ and these all require a ticket. I think things will just be fine.
It’s an MMO, they’re trying to give us a real arena and a sense of community.
This game tries to cater to everyone. By doing this, lots of people will always be malcontent. Can’t wait for what their take will be on raids and the response of the community on it.
They haven’t stated if it will return or not. If it returns, what’s the deal? I’d rather have it like that then. People whined about SAB being temporal too, now we’re just looking forward to it’s return.
Imo, the content gets played way more if it’s temporal. Otherwise you get it, grind it and almost never touch it again.
We all have had enough presents we anticipated with great hype, just to never touch it again after a certain period.

Too much content, too much population spread and there’s already lots of people complaining that they don’t see nor find people for stuff. This is temporal because of this reason and to keep it fun. After 4 weeks everyone should have had the chance to try it and even grind/farm it.
It’s an arena. They want to get that arena feeling. So people need to watch. I think is fun aslong as it doesn’t get out of hand. Sjeez, do you want everything instanced? Play a singleplayer game.
They were working on commands a while back, maybe they can shed some light on this.

The problem atm is population. New gametypes and features need to wait a bit until the game grows more. Solo q is an important step in pulling more people in. Step by step. But unranked is certainly a good feature.
We’ll get a blogpost tomorrow about PvP. It’ll probably be have information about this matter.
Combo fields is one of those parts of the game that could provide us with more depth and a higher skill ceiling (team-wise). This could also be used to promote diversity by giving more combo’s that are either support/dps.
At the moment there are only initiators and finishers. But why don’t we expand on this?
- Create more initiators and more finishers. Put them on all the different weapons and give them some unique ‘outcomes’.
- Make it more complex. Why not add a third or even a fourth (Reminds me of getting your combo’s off in Tekken :p) combo ‘part’.
For example: An initiator (1) + an enhancer (2) + a finisher (3).
(1) —→ the water field of ranger.
(2) --→ Sanctuary of guardian.
(3) —→ Any blast finishers inside the sanctuary on the water field.
Outcome —> The sanctuary gets enhanced. It becomes bigger. (As big as the node)
Now this is just an example but it would be fun to have lots of possibilities and see them more in action. This needs to be very well spread over the different classes or you get the same problem as now where you are pidgeonholed into stuff.
This should be part of making the skill ceiling higher team-wise and creating/allowing more synergy in teams. Maybe even creating some different team specs based on combos (a la gw1).
Though this more team-based, the individual skill ceiling should be higher too. To accomplish this lots of RNG and passive play needs to be removed or changed into things that allow reaction. And we need more distinct animations.

I agree, it shouldn’t be like RA. If you’re lucky with teammates, you’ll just keep stomping the others and the leaderboards will become even more luckbased.
Go spectral and you’re a bit bunkerish. Combined with plague I tend to survive pretty long.
We need lord/mob hp’s. And maybe a small camera for sidepoint action when the focus is on mid.
Hybrids will be the way too go in soloq. This way you can react easily to the your team comp and enemy comp. Well, that’s what I’ll be running anyway.
Will there be more unique skins than the rapier? This would be ideal to have some specific and spreaded farming.

In the blogpost has been stated there will be a chance on getting rare materials and items for skillpoints.
Is there any chance some (as much as possible) will get unique skins with their name (like gw1) and maybe a rare miniature version of it. Stuff like this will keep people going for certain champions and not just farm the best ‘champion chain’ as the loot would be the same for every champion.
Anyone else would like to see this?
I wonder what will be popular in solo-queue. Let’s see which classes will be considered ‘carrying the team’.
Keeping the duo-trio queuers in the team queue might not be too bad in the beginning for population-issues.

The problem with dhuumfire is the fact that it’s an unavoidable burn. Where burning is one of the strongest condis of the game.
On long term basis they should try to remove all these unavoidable/RNG/instant stuff from the game and make it animated/not instant/not RNG. This will allow skillful play.
They could rotate different maps for it?
Time for a split? :p Problem is.. can they split traits?
It doesn’t make sense if it wouldn’t be a ‘bug’. This would atleast make Tpvp and actually winning a bit more attractive to some and reward us a little better.

As we’re talking short term here. Just tweak dhuumfire, don’t touch the rest. Tweak it asap (as make it little less strong) and see how it pans out.
