I guess "grind" is a matter of perspective

I’ve played Aion(for about 1-2 months), WoW(6 years), WAR, SWTOR, Eve, Tera (3 months), Rift, and now Guild Wars 2.

I know Aion has an insane grind at higher levels, and so does Tera. But this game is nipping at their heels, maybe even passing them.

Whether or not you think people like me are misinformed or dilusional, the fact that so many people feel GW2 is a grind when the game was highly touted as a non-grinding game, is a problem. Perception is reality. If a large portion of the playerbase feels that the game is grindy, it probably is.

Among other reasons, this is why I have stopped playing. I don’t need a second job. I have a regular 9-5, then upkeep at home and a family to spend time with. I don’t need to feel compelled to log into a game to do dailys or dragon chest farm just to keep up with the masses.

This is not why I bought the game.
So disappointed.

The current state of the game

For so long I came to these forums to defend the game. Now, I really give my opinion here. The current direction the devs are taking this game is to the pits, and in my humble opinion the game lost its uniqueness on November 15th, and then again when they introduced Laurels. And then again with guild missions. This game is no longer unique, it is like every other mmo out there, so why do I bother to play? I might have logged in for an hour in the past 4 or 5 days.

I’ll wait until they do something about precursors or if they begin to turn around to their original design philosophy. Until then, it is shelved right next to WoW, Tera, and Rift…I might log in when I am really bored, but it will not be for long.

Guild Missions [merged]

…what about the guild mission unlock?

‘cause I’ve been doing some calculations, and, considering our 30+ active members that generates about 1000 influence a day…

…we will have to play for almost a year, without using any bounties or influence items, to unlock all the guild content.

Is that grinding, or is that something else?

Probably not in te literal sense of the word, but really, playing a year just to be able to play something…that’s a bit harsh, isn’t it?

According to anet/chris whiteside, grinding is doing any activity you do not like over and over.

I just bought 20 dollars worth of gems. I havent played regularly for a while now and I am not that serious into the game at the moment because of this thing called life (paying bills, school, etc.)

So why did I buy this?

Because I greatly appreciate you guys as a company and the work you do. I want to do my best to support you. I’m not even sure ill have a use for these gems in the near future but the whole purpose was to show my support. It was the only thing I bought besides the game itself since its release. But all in all I just want to say thank you. You have developed a wonderful game and I couldn’t be happier with it. Keep up the good work.

Wait until you have a few characters to max level in full gear(which isnt hard). Then you feel compelled to complete dailys each day ,guild missions, and fractals.

@proxy: Either way, I feel that there were a lot less unhappy people before November 15 when they introduced the first ‘power creep’ or ‘stat increase’ or ‘gear treadmill’. It seems that every patch since then has been under intense scrutiny, and I feel thats because many were burned in november.

In my opinion, before the November patch, mostly the only people that complained were of bugs(naturally but has no bearing on this debate) and people complained of lack of endgame(which they still do now. This will never go away until there are instanced raids which I do not want).

Post November patch, people complain about bugs less, still complain about lack of end game, and now complain about gear treadmill/stat increases/unexplainable innate urges to complete mundane tasks set forth by the game devs to acquire another form of currency to purchase better stuff.

Whatever your perrsonal opinion is, or anyone’s, just from the forums alone or even map chat in LA, there are more disgruntled people now, and last month, and the month before that, than there were in September or October.

This whole direction just piled onto the disgruntled people that are still disgruntled with the lack of stuff to do.

We understand. You have it in your head that in order for you to have fun playing the way that you want to play then the way you want to play shouldn’t drag you down. Yet, it does.

The problem with this is that it’s your way to play. Not the games. Not mine. But yours. Either adapt or don’t…your choice. If you continue to choose to play in a manner that ultimately doesn’t satisfy you via GW2 then maybe this just isn’t your game. Obviously, you’d prefer to change the game to fit your desired playstyle. That’s understandable as well…there’s a suggestion forum for just that sort of thing.

However, the game used to fit my playstyle until the infamous november 15th patch where a good portion of the community viewed it as a shift in their design philosophy. Now, with dailys rewarding something measurable, something to spend..you need to have it! Must do those dailys!

Ascended gear is a ripoff, give me some real stat progression I’m not grinding for like 7 points on the top stat and 3 on the two lower ones. The only thing laurels are useful for are stacks of unident dyes atm.

So no, I don’t have that problem. OP it sounds like you’re treating GW2 as a job and I"d recommend playing a different game, at least for a while.

And I might just do that…but then when I return, my characters might be “out of date” or behind…Its just in my nature, and many others, to want to get the maximum stats for our characters, grind for aesthetics, and then just enjoy the game casually on our own time. With ascended gear slowly introduced, I’ll come back and feel the urge yet again.

I never thought GW2 would go down this road. 1-80 on 5 toons and I never felt like I was “behind” anyone because up until that point it never mattered. Exotic gear, at the time, was the best set you can get and I would get it in my own time. Take abreak, come back, and my exotic set is still on par with yours

Whether or not you have the personal need to have maximum stats for your character, your statement that your characters will be “out of date” is your perception, not reality.

Perception is reality, ever hear of that expression?

Anyways, so right now we have ascended accessories x 2, rings x2, and amulets.

If I break from the game for 6 months. I come back, you’re telling me they would not have added another 1 or 2 slots of ascended? Each requireing somewheres near 1+ month to obtain? I consider that outdated my friend. If they added ascended gloves and shoulders, with some stat difference of 5-12% which seems to be the norm, my exotics are inferior. Out dated.

and since i only have 15hours a week or such to play, i miss out on pvp and wvw because i feel compeled by the boring gear grind.

and your also right that “farming” is quite dull.
anyway theyll realize it, playerbase is diminishing again now since the last patch, most people went like “ugh… more… pain”.

I agree with Veldan 100%. @Avatar: I think a lot of them alluded to UO as their first MMO, an experience they wanted to replicate. I never played it, but from what you have said..sounds like GW2 is way off the mark.

The way i want to play is as follows!!
-Level as many characters to 80 as possible— DONE, at 5
-Pick 2 or 3 to gear up— Done, 3(thief, necro, warrior)
-Obtain a max stat set for each of the three within a decent amount of time/effort(maybe 10-30 hrs played…just a guess): DONE up until November 15. Now certain slots are outdated every so often/
-THEN map complete
-THEN grind for legendary/enjoy WvW

Thats how I wanted to play. Now, with everything going on, I circle back to the 3rd bullet in that list, to make sure I am keeping up with my progress to get max stats for each slot. THIS is not how I wanted to play.

To anyone about to say : Stil you can play how you want to play! I respond: But I WAS playing how I wanted to play. I WANTED a max stat set then enjoy the game. Now, my earrings, amulets, and rings are outdated by ascended. Now I have to adhere to other systems to get back to playing the way I wanted to play. Do you not understand this?

This was my feeling up until november 15. Again, for a lot of people like myself, just human nature to want to stay on top of things. And I was. I had my exotic set and was content with just enjoying the game and exploring. But now, my pieces are not top dog and in order to stay on top, I have to do things I dont want to do. There is nothing psychotic about this, many people on this forum and in game feel the same way. You are 100% correct, it is how you approach the game.

You say that it’s just human nature… But as far as I know I’m human and I never feel these urges… I just really don’t get this. Why do content you don’t want to do for a reward you don’t really want or need? Some days I do the daily, some days I don’t get around to doing that last bit. Sure, it delays me acquiring ascended gear if I don’t do it, but…. why would I care? I let my main priority (world completion, messing in WvWvW, doing stuff with friends, whatever…) control my play choices. I simply don’t get why anyone else has a problem with this.

To reiterate what I said: Its human nature…maybe not for everyone such as yourself, but for a lot of people such as myself. Just this innate urge or need to have max stats in the game, and THEN enjoy the game. I had that, then they threw ascended at us, laurels…now I go out of my way to obtain the necessary currencies to PURCHASE, not earn through some difficult kill, my way to max stats.

But to me getting gear has never been the point of this game. It’s something that happens along the way in order to make playing easier, but it’s not a goal in itself. My goal is to explore the world, to do all the personal story quests, events, see all the areas, etc. etc. so that’s what I focus on when I’m playing.

This was my feeling up until november 15. Again, for a lot of people like myself, just human nature to want to stay on top of things. And I was. There is nothing psychotic about this, many people on this forum and in game feel the same way. You are 100% correct, it is how you approach the game. I wanted to slowly level my characters, 5 of them. Pick a few to gear up. Done that. Enjoy the game. I was doing that, now I have to stop to regear for ascended rings(done, finally), amulets(only one toon), and now earrings/accessories? Yes, laurels can be done without thinking about it IF you are leveling characters. But I am not leveling anymore. So with my max level characters I need to find places to get kill variety, where I can get 4 events, find 3 veterans, etc. Yes a lot of it is done easily..sometimes not as much and I need to run around for a while to find that last kitten vet! or that last event!

Maybe what arenanet could have done is find some other way to get people back into the world without another carrot such as laurels.

All I see in your posts are you don’t like dailies awarding laurels. But if you’re doing fractals lvl 20’s 25’s you don’t need laurels?

I thought the point of laurels was to give people optional paths toward ascended items without having to run fractals. Even then, those of us who don’t like fractals and only will get laurel items aren’t getting everything, like the quivers and some other stuff. So if you’re doing fractals you don’t have to do dailies for laurels.

Maybe I misunderstood your post? Or maybe I misunderstand laurels.

From what I understand, you can only get ascended earrings via laurels+50ecto, or guild missions. Its hilarious that you cannot purchase them with pristine fractal relics, and that they are not chest drops in a fractal.

Suggestions:
-Increase karma/XP/money gained from completing dynamic events in these zones(adjust level scaling a bit more..make it a bit more challenging to be a bit closer to that of Orr). I would make the XP/Money gain a bit higher than you would find in Orr so that if people want to farm XP for skill points or gain some money, they would go to their favorite zone and do so. If people want to karma farm or farm T5/T6 mats, Orr would be a better place. Its all a matter of what your aiming for, but at least there would be some incentive to go back to these old zones at 80. Instead of the 1 silver 90 copper, or whatever it is that you receive at 80 for an event in Orr, make the DEs in places like queensdale reward you 3 silver. Again, adjust the level scaling so you cannot faceroll everything.
-Increase the droprate of Rares in Non-Orr zones(moreso than Orr), however, Orr will have higher XP/Money gain/Karma gain per DE.

Hi,
While I was on my throne last night, I was thinking about Guild Wars. (…waits for people to stop laughing at me…jk). Anyways, I was thinking about daily’s and I’ve come to the conclusion that, everything else aside, in my opinion they boil down to two things(double edged sword):

1. They DO get people back into the world, into random zones doing random things. Zones like Queensdale now have level 80s running around. This is awsome! This is how the game should have been!
2. The innate human ‘urge’ to log in, complete your daily, log out. Nothing more than a chore. There are plenty of people in game that feel this exact way, I know I do.

I’ll be honest: While leveling my 5 characters to 80, I would ocassionally see a little “bleep” with a daily completion progress bar. I thought, “Oh cool, some more XP, etc”. I didn’t think much of it, I didnt go out of my way to complete dailys. I was so involved in the game, the environment, the lore, the NPCS. Who cared about dailys? They were an added bonus, a little more XP, maybe some $$ and karma I believe. But all in all, just small added bonuses for playing the game however you wanted, whenever you wanted. Nothing earth shattering. Nothing game breaking. Nothing to fuel the ‘urge’ to log in and keep up with everyone else. Keep in mind, my last level 80 character level capped in early to mid January I believe.

Then, and it always circles back to this, the November 15th patch came out and we have stat increases. Suddenly, the mood in the game shifts. Now, with the January patch and with daily’s actually rewarding something measurable, laurels, the innate human nature that a lot of people have compells us to log in and complete the daily. Anyone else feel this way? Anyone else feel that the dailys are both a positive and negative on this game? It got people back into the world, but at the cost of immersion. I no longer feel immersed in any zone. I toon hop to complete the daily as quickly as I can, because thats what we humans do.

Guild Missions: Guild Bounty Why is this Fun?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: cesmode.4257

cesmode.4257

I also don’t really like the bounty hunt system.

I guess it could be fun (but also frustrating) if you did it like Zudet, but if you’re just looking for the rewards, it’s a boring and tedious (but at least successful) task. You just spread out (we had 18 people for our first T3 try, which was successful too…) look for the mobs, pop the quest and then you post waypoints…boring and unfun.

For me this is just the next carrot on the stick thing I didn’t really want in the game. Now I’ll have to take part in that boring tedious PVE thing at least once a week to get my shinies asap. I know I don’t need them. I know it, trust me. But somehow I feel the urge to do it nonetheless. And I dislike me for that urge…

I’ve rarely actively finished a daily before the laurel stuff. It either happened, or it didn’t. If some gathering was missing, I wouldn’t bother before, because there was no reward I particularly cared for. Now I feel the urge to hunt down that last ore or tree to finish it, when I actually just wanted to go offline, because I want shinies I don’t actually need. It’s sad isn’t it.

This. +1. Sums up how I feel too. I know I dont need any of it. I know I can do anything in the game in rares. Who cares about ascended, about more loot? But its just human nature to feel the urge(and to act) to get the best thing you can get. Theres nothing wrong with it. Theres nothing psychotic about feeling the innate urge to log into a game each night, complete a mundane task to keep on par with everyone else. Theres nothing sick about that. For those of you that can block that, urge, I commend you. But to those of us that cant, it sucks! :P

On the other hand, the dallies did get me back into zones I wouldnt have touched again otherwise, which is great. The world is definately more alive. But is there another way this could have been achieved without an accumulating currency-carrot on a stick thing?

I think the change to dragon chests is probably the best thing in recent memory. I neither feel compelled to complete a dragon kill on every character each night, nor do I feel like I am missing out if I dont. I try to catch them when I can and I get a few in. If arenanet installed this type of ‘lure’ to the zones instead of a daily carrot on a stick, that might be a better option.

Edit: I honestly started this game with the biggest notion to explore, to slow down in leveling, to enjoy everything, take in the sights(because I knew the game would be gorgeous). I soaked up every inch of aesthetics, tried to explore every inch of a zone to find some under water tunnel leading to some small camp of quaggen, which happened to have some unique lighting effects. It was the best MMO experience Ive had to date. Leveling was grand. Then November 15th game, and the first carrot was introduced. Since then, this game is no longer a unique snowflake. Its like any other…dare I say…bland mmo with carrots, sticks, and us horses chasing after them.

I’ll admit I don’t WvW as much as I likely should. When I do though, I tend to avoid the larger battles due to culling and those pesky stealth thieves who seem to pick my Anet tag out of the crowd and proceed to stick daggers in my spine.
When I WvW, I tend to run off into areas where I can get the drop on someone who is running to an objective that is contested. Rangers are really powerful in 1v1, especially when you can get the jump on someone and have good daze\evasion. When I am caught up ikittenerg trying to push back another zerg, I tend to keep my pet in pacifist mode so it doesn’t go running off to its death.
In a 1v1-3 situation though, double hyenas and a trusty spider can be a real game changer and difference maker.

Oh that red arenanet tag..I see red and I want to charge at it like a bull!!

Latest patch, what is with the rage?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

With every patch you will have people that like/dislike it. The people that dislike the patch, most of them, will be here voicing their opinions. Those that do not care or think it is a good patch, will not voice their opinion, or not as much, and probably laugh at people who do. To the people who would laugh at those who voice an opinion, whether positive or negative, I ask “Who are you to judge someone’s opinion?”

I for one completely disliked the november patch, approved of the January(winters day) patch, approved of the February patch, and disapprove of this patch(thus far). The only two things that I really like from this patch are the selectable dailys, and the dragon chest change.

Guild Missions have been installed in the worst possible way, and we’ll see just how lucky people can get with a precursor from completing. The big draw for me is the chance at a precursor. If arenanet left out a key piece of info, that you can only get a precursor from a certain mission, or the last unlockable, I’ll be POd. They also did say that the entire guild has the opportunity to loot a precursor…kind of grey info. Does this mean that if one person gets it, all get a precursor? Or just the entire guild has the chance(individually).

For me, verdict is still out on those missions. They aren’t traditional raids, but its going to be scheduled content for your guild to complete, which I do not want to base my RL around a game schedule. For me, this is a huge turnoff. If I cannot sign in for a guild mission, I miss out. Even if I can sign in for a guild mission, I don’t want to say to myself "just make sure you don’t get into anything at home that will take you past the start time of that guild mission. " Up until now, Ive logged in whenever I want without fear of being left behind. Now, not so much. With every patch, with the exception of a few, I keep getting a bad taste in my mouth each time, that this game is moving toward a more mainstream MMO rather than a unique snowflake that I thought/hoped it would be.

So what are you lot whining for?

More exotic drops? Guaranteed multiple rares in FOTM?

What constitutes as “fair loots”. If you can’t have a straight answer off the top of your head which is what I’ve yet to see on this thread. As it is obvious solutions has Anet in a bunch and now you want them on more balancing issues. Really now. Big picture.

Don’t keep mentioning dragon chests as a precedence and ride the wave just hoping for more loots.

Okay.

Veteran: Fine drop (or better)
Champion: Masterwork drop (or better)
Legendary: Two Masterwork drops (or better)
Regular chests: Three Fine-level drops (or better) + 1 gemstone
Large chests (like World Boss chests): Three Masterwork drops (or better) + 2 gemstones

There ya go, that’s my answer to your question. Please, go ahead and explain to me why my suggestions are unreasonable. Because it’s my opinion that, as things stand, people don’t feel all that inspired to bother with champion mobs because they don’t offer very good rewards. If they offered at least green drops, people might be more willing to tackle them.

Regardless what anet says, I don’t think any mob has any higher chance of dropping better materials than the next…regular mob, vet, champ, etc. Its all the same to me. I honestly cannot tell the difference.

Therfor, I do not see value in farming vets, or champions. They drop blues. Big whoop. Fix this please.

However, for the first time ever in this game, I see a difference between dragon chests and jumping puzzle chests/random chests in the world. I do think JP puzzle chests need to be upped a bit with chances of rares, etc. sometimes you can spend a good 5-10 minutes on a puzzle, even more (if you arent watching a vid on youtube). Thats the same amount of time that you would spend on a dragon.

So I take it that the lack of a dev response I could assume its pretty much “Casuals, if you want a legenday go kitten youself”?

I had the day off of work today and made about 3-4 gold grinding pent/shelter/jofast and only a total of 100 or so moldy bags. I used to be able to do that in 3-4 hours of grinding. I was so prepared to grind another 6 months or so go get my Twilight but with these stupid changes its going to take twice that, at least, assuming I keep playing this game. A casual who likes to grind should see some real results in 6 months…not going to happen with events the way they are now. I mean, I can only play 10-12 hours max a week.

Im in the same boat. On normal days, I can play from 8pm till 11pm. Other days I can play a few extra hours more each. Total, ikittenday work week, 10-15 hours. Like you I have no problem grinding for 6 months for the materials needed for my legendary. The problem isnt the materials. Its the precursors. you can farm all the t6 mats you want. If you dont have a precursor and you dont have 600 gold to spend, youre efforts are for none. its why I have slowed my playing. some nights now I log in for the daily and log out. No point in doing anything else.

My Ultimate endgame was the legendary. With precursor prices being stupid, thats almost gone.

My goals for the game were:
1. Level as many alts as I can stomach to 80 (5, done)
2. Choose two or three and gear them up via exotics (3, done…crafting and dungeon grinds)
3. Progress through fractals decently (obviously a late edition, lvl 23 I believe. done)
4. Enjoy the scenery/exploration (Done, after two characters)
5. Legendary/Wvw

For me theres not much else to do in game besides legendaryand some WvW. Guild Missions..we’ll see how fun they are WHEN my guild can do it and IF I can attend this scheduled event. Sad, I had high hopes for the game. Still do. Still think its the best MMO out there. But for me, its going in the opposite direction I had hoped and time wise, I cannot follow.

I dont see a huge problem. Adding a few more vets and a champ, OK. However, I wouldnt mind it if they reverted the changes either. Doesn’t matter to me.

Lets face it guys, the two events were faceroll to begin with. Now, it not neccesarily so. Its not that you’ll die during these events, but you cant just tag one group, tag another group.

Also, lets be perfectly honest here….what are you really farming? I have nearly a full magic find set on my necro, a wellmancer…tagging everything I can via two wells, plague form, insect swarm, and life transfer. Thats a lot of AOE, and with a magic find set, I do decently on drops. However, what are we really farming these events for? You very rarely see a T6 mat drop. You can see a few rares drop in an hr. I have yet to see a precursor drop. Maybe one or two exotics, ever, have dropped from these events.

What are you really farming? And are yuo really missing out on that much? I farmed for T5 mats really…stocking up on those. Once I hit 250, I sell off the excess and make some extra coin.

There are better farm spots in the game, trust me. Go find them.

Guild Missions [merged]

@Havana: It would be nice. But I dont think they will, or it is necessary. They have said they are relying on the community, random passerbys to join in smaller guild missions.

But those passerbys get rewarded like any other DE, so if I am map completing, what is the point in stopping to participate? I have no chance at a precursor, I am not going to get commendations. Theres no point. I might as well truck along with my map completion as fast as possible.

Relying on the playerbase to facilitate what they could have done through code is lazy. Id like an explanation on why they didnt make ALL of these missions scale dynamically, like the rest of the game.

Guild Missions [merged]

My issues with missions stem further than just missions. It all ties into what we perceived, and what is reality.

When I first was attracted to GW2, I loved the idea that they were breaking the mold in every fashion.
-No trinity
-No grind
-Aesthetic weapon upgrades
-Legendary stats = exotic stats(yes this is in a interview with colin…youtube it.)
-Play the way you want to, not the way the MMO wants you to
-Everything is available to everyone via level scaling
-Dynamic events replace quests

Now we have:
-No trinity. OK
-No grind. Not OK. There is a HUGE grind in the game for literally everything.
-Aesthetic weapon upgrades. Not OK. This is accompanied by a stat treadmill via ascended.
-Legendary stats = exotic stats(yes this is in a interview with colin…youtube it.). Not OK. It has been said that legendaries will be bumped up to the ascended stat equivalent.
-Play the way you want to, not the way the MMO wants you to. Not OK. I want to play Solo, but you’ve created guild missions to force me to join a guild to experience that. I wanted max stats, but I have to run fractals for my max stat ring, guild missions for my max stat accessory(or blow 50 ectos), etc.
-Everything is available to everyone via level scaling. OK
-Dynamic events replace quests. OK

Some core elements have changed. Not thrilled. Guild missions are no exceptions. I have to adhere to a guild mission schedule set forth by a guild leader if i dont want to miss a mission. Here we go, scheduling real life around a game. Wait, I did this back in WoW for raiding…isnt that why I quit the game?

I am just curious why people stay with a guild if they do not represent…ever. Or if they do, its like once every week or few weeks. So minimal that you provide no benefit to the guild and the guild doesnt provide you benefit.

Non sensical to run fractals?
-Fractal weapons
-Backpiece
-Slots
-Loot

Fractal weapons: Only if you want one, or want the skin. Otherwise, moot.
Backpiece: If you are at the fractal level where you can get fractal weapons, you better have that backpiece already. Moot.
Slots: What?
Loot: Get this from…dragon chests?

I have noticed less people running fotm lately(yay). Couldnt quite put my finger on why. Interesting though.

I completely agree. Prior to launch, I perceived this game as a “upgrade for cosmetics” type of game. Not a "grind for stats. And i’ll bet ascended armor will look like kitten

I would not mind throwing 500 gems at an armor set, if they were available in the gem store and they looked decent. But skins only.

Right now, the shop is kind of meh…some OK items, a lot of crap.

Im least focused and concerned about “an expansions worth of content for free” and more concerned about how with every patch, the game veers further away from what most of us thought the game would turn out to be(from interviews, webcasts, etc). Then an arenanet employee comes here and says they do not think they went back on their original goals, missions or philosophies at all, yet a lot of the playerbase feels this way. Catch up to what? You can do anything in exotics that you can do with all of that. The stat difference is minimal.

Don’t be naive. Its starting to get noticable. Even with a +5 stat differential. We now have 2 rings, amulet, 2 accessories available. Its mounting up. Soon, you’ll have an entire gearest. Multiple whatever the differential is by how many pieces and I garuntee you my critical chance, power, toughness will be way higher than yours.

To the OP: Yeah, theres a lot to do. Im TRYING to ignore the innate human need to stay on top of the curve. Its hard. Maybe I can maybe I can’t ignore it. Either way, I know this isnt the game I wanted to buy. Its changed into every other MMO out there. Its a great game, but its no longer a unique snowflake.

When people view your topic

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

cesmode.4257

It would help developers parse through the hundreds of threads of posts worth of feedback if people would use descriptive, concise thread titles. Thread titles consisting of half sentences (i.e. “I think that…”) or titles that are too vague (i.e. “Skills”) are really not helpful. Those sorts of titles give no indication of what a thread is about, so most readers will simply skip them.

I agree completely. I’ll also add that I think the character limit is too small.

My boss tells me I need to be concise with my corporate emails, which I am working on…carrying that into the forums here I TRY to be concise. But in order to give the audience a clear definition of what the topic is about, I need more space to type!

you are getting update to WvW in a week…

Ascended gear has no place in WvW… who’s gonna cast agony? Really?

If having a slot to place agony resist was all the only reason we have ascended gear, then why the stat increase from exotic to ascended? Its not needed then.

If ascended stats = exotic stats, but had infusion slots for resist I would have NO problems with this game, or its direction and I would not feel compelled to grind out ascended gear…because I would already have my max stat set.

Quit kidding yourself that this game is some special snowflake and that you can finally play the game the way that you want to…that finally a developer gets it. News flash: that was a marketing ploy. A company line, “Play the way you want to”. I want to run guild missions…guess my guild needs to spend gold to get influence to train it up, or farm it. I want to get BiS gear in the old dungeons. Not happening with Fractals. I’ll spend 45 minutes to 1.5 hours in there, depending on the competancy of my group. AND I need to get to at least fotm 10, and grind that for a while. Hopefully Im lucky with a chest ring drop, maybe im not. Also now I to do dailys(which I think are great additions, Im just making a point). Dailys do NOT take 5 minutes.
