i once had a match with 4 ele’s on my team. it wasn’t that bad. we almost won. i think we could have won the match if there were only 3 eles and there was another tanky profession on the team. i played as a spirit ranger on that match, btw.

Sounds like solo spirit ranger with 4 extra playable spirits.

@jek I have been tired of these seasons since the second week. It has ruined wvw for me and the way seasons has made previously cool people on the forums act is sad.

Thieves are already kinda useless and mesmers will completely replace them come dec 10th. You can hold on to your thief dreams if you want but there are better classes to use in tpvp.

For ~90% of the PVP population (non leaderboard players) this new match making was good and made games more fun. Hopefully because they are enjoying it more the playerbase as a whole will expand…

However, in the meantime, for remaining veterans… games are cringe worthy. It’s like a basketball game with a mix of highschool and kindergarden players.

This. Sure games are closer, but that doesn’t mean the matchmaking is better or “funner”. For this remaining 10% of the population, every game seems like you are doing a lot (aka carrying), but yet the rest of your team seems to not pull their weight. Ultimately when you get that loss, it’s really, really, REALLY discouraging. I cannot emphasize how really discouraging it is.
Of course, I could just be really bad. But it really does seem like I have a huge weight dropped on to me that I have to tug alongside my own.

To me, winning or losing is not as important as HAVING FUN. as long as i get matched with people who have some logic and general idea of the game, i could care less about having a stacked team.

It’s very frustrating playing with teams who are always fighting off point, dying almost instantly on every fight. and have them be spawn camp unless you baby sit them. all because they have little to no idea to whats going on.

What I want:

• To be matched up with players who have a general idea of how to play the game (and to have some logic )

What I DON’T want:

• Matches to be decided by who has worst players
• To be expected to carry clueless people every game

For some it might feel like better match quality, but that’s just because they are being matched up with players who are winning the games for them, but the strain being put on those players back… is unimaginable.. and that back might very soon break.

I agree, im about done with s/tpvp for now. I honestly cant take this matchmaking anymore, hopefully it will be better after the reset on the 29th. Games are literally decided by who has the worst players and who can carry the best, thats not what i signed up for.

This immobilize meta needs to leave quickly.

No such thing as tank/support in gw2. If you are doing dungeons or pve in general you want to focus on damage, that is the best way to support your team.

I play the thief exclusively in dungeons. I have been kicked once because the group wanted a “berserk only” party. Whatever that action amounts to is insignificant compared to the utility a thief can provide.

I run this in dungeons:

D/D (one dagger has superior sigil of corruption (condi damage on kill))
Superior Rune of the Antitoxin (-24% condi duration, +183 condi damage, might (x6) on poison or torment)
Apocethary armor (healing, +condi, +third attribute)
Signet of malice (works very well with death blossom)
Caltrops (good aoe bleed and cripple)
Signet of Infiltration (for init regen)
Blinding powder
Dagger storm

Traits are 0/0/25/30/15
Some of the traits are “assassins reward” (heal on init use), caltrops on roll, lose conditions while in stealth, ..

So the utility I bring to a party is superior bleed application (with death blossom), caltrops, and caltrops on dodge. I can also grant regen to allies using blinding powder (which also acts as a cover for a quick ress). Dagger storm is a great skill to block ranged attacks and give the team cover.

Don’t underestimate us.

if you wanna get kicked even faster, follow this advice.

Who cares about venom share when this is a problem in pvp/wvw and pve. They dont design games around a single trait.

I have no problem killing warriors or guardians on my spirit ranger. Just learn to dodge their slow kitten hammer and make them blow their cool downs. Keep poison applied.

I beat it in under an hour and don’t even want to go back and grind the achievements for the combine helm. Another boring zergfest with no challenge in my opinion.

I also got pulled by a Mesmer even tho I had stability up, kinda goes against the idea of stability completely. I mean i manged not to fly off the first 3 fights because of it and then i pop stability so I could easily deal with it and then bam, flying like a bird.

Again, lol, HoD is stomping you as bad as they did us AND we matched HoD at night time. This means that, while you may roflstomp us at primetime, you may find your lead gone when you wake up. Further, consider what happened in the GoM Vs. FC Vs. Dh match of epicness. We were behind both servers by 10k, then suddenly, out of no where, we pretty much took over the match. Since then, our coverage has improved quite a bit and so has our defense, and we’re just as lethal on the offense as we always were.

I agree, let’s not jump to any conclusions. Dh is still the underdog in the match against SF, but I think you’d be quite silly to rule Dh out. We’re gunning for you, but that doesn’t mean we’re better than you/will beat you. We may not even stand a chance against you, time will tell, but we’re just trying to think things through. And take not. HoD is a server that literally just came off of fighting us and is currently fighting you, so they have a pretty good idea of each server’s capabilities, whereas your data is from week 1.

I’m not ruling anyone out, but unless you have got some transfers and we lose more people to people getting tired of leagues, how has anything changed? I’m sure if your coverage and tactics has gotten better then we will indeed have a closer match, but I’m seeing some puzzling stamens from you and others in this thread.

We matched HoD at prime time and had the lead several times over the weekend which is more than your server can say, so what is the point in bringing HoD into this?

We’re getting much higher participating in WvW and are more coordinated. On top of that, Dh has finally realized the value of defending stuff after our match with GoM/FC, our defensive game has improved by a large margin.

Also, you do realize we took a 100+ppt lead over HoD dozens of times, right? HoD owned us, and we admit that lol, but don’t think we never fought back…

I was watching your match with interest an I was surprised that you got as close as you did. And I was talking about having an actual point lead over them

Warrior isnt OP in PVE and the f1 skill on long bow is fine. Even if they decide to change it to what you suggested they can seperate the skill from the PVE version.

If it needs a fix the best way would be to add some cast time to it like killshot but not to that extreme.

It’s not my place to be giving design reasoning behind changes so I can try to get one of the guys to give a statement on this but the way I see it is that this change helps lessen the gap we have in player skill level. It’s an awesome quality of life improvement to team coordination and it’s going to help matches remain more competitive across the board. Team’s using voice comms will still have an upper advantage but I think that reducing the amount mal-rotations happening is a positive change.
