…I did not even knew there was an official leaderboard that keeps track of this kitten until today. (I am at 3.3k ap or so, dunno what rank that is)
I reccomend to google “GW2 nodes” whenever you start the farm trip. Resets occur quite often and you dont need to waste much time on this chore. It might be also worth to mention that the nodes at southsun cove are usually pinged bad, I dont bother checking out this location even though the nodes site says T6 is there (unless I have loads of time).
Yes, it is not 0 – that would be impossible. But what if the time investment would be say… 1 day. I can imagine that an “hotfix AA grenade” that would appeal to a medium range player base would be worth it (I would be happy.) And I could contradict until the end of time / any issue / ever – that “waste of time” applies only to an issue solving that nobody cares about. Which I dont think is this case.
Also, what do you mean by knowing the results / broken results ..I do not follow. I just still dont see an argument against grenade 1 AA.
The video I posted in this further up in this thread is what Im referring to. It would be the reults of auto cast on grenades and it is a known issue. So even one day of effort and resources would only recreate a broken issue. making it a waste of time. It has nothing to do with nobody caring about it. I don’t know how you could even have got that from any of my posts. It has everything to do with recreating a broken system.
edit: “neither I or anyone else (I assume) who will post in this thread is a developer of GW2, so talking about resources and time management on a specific task is quite ridiculous”
^ I think this tangent is starting to get rediculous according to both of our measuring tools.
Ooook. Just watched the video and I understand the concern. But truth to be told, I am not sure about the comparison. A couple things that caused this brokeness: projectile speed, range, AoE vs. Single target (kind of). I would assume that AA on Grenade 1 would be more or less “unkitable” due to the differences.
To be fair, neither I or anyone else (I assume) who will post in this thread is a developer of GW2, so talking about resources and time management on a specific task is quite ridiculous, the answer is….you do not know what is takes. So I dont buy the resource investment argument as a valid point against grenade auto 1.
It’s only ridiculous if someone here is trying to quanify that time and resources. We definatly know it’s not “0”. But my post of [“I think people are against it because they don’t want time wasted making more of this. Optional or not, it is a wate of time and reasources. Then when there’s bugs to fix (as if this isn’t a big enough problem already) it means more time and resources away from other problems that deserve them.”] is saying that any amount of time and resources spent on recreating an idea that is already problematic is a waste of whatever time and resources would be used on it. We don’t need to know what it takes. All we need to know is the result. And we know those results. They are broken. So the unidentified (>0) time and resources that would be used is a waste.
Yes, it is not 0 – that would be impossible. But what if the time investment would be say… 1 day. I can imagine that an “hotfix AA grenade” that would appeal to a medium range player base would be worth it (I would be happy.) If you’ve ever played an asura and you have jumped around, you will never want to play another race again.
If you are referring to doing jumping puzzels I would have to disagree and say that it just depends on the race you have used the most that the jumps will seem most natural and the easiest, but if you are talking about the way they jump just for moving around and their evades how they look I would have to agree they are pretty neat. Disclaimer: This all being said, I main a charr engineer.
You can literally wait for me to come home and post THE most silly-to-look at pictures of my charr’s point of view while doing jumping puzzles. There is nothing you get used to when the camera zooms in 200% and you feel like in an FPS shooter each time a rock chills up your head and you get trolled by the cam XDD
Anyway, Charr are my favs. There is simply a great feel playing with them.
Valid Debate: The ability to auto-cast grenade 1 is IN THE GAME. Dive in water, target enemy, press 1.
It requires NO resources to develop. There it is, IN THE GAME.
Seriously……….waiting on a real debate, swatting flies gets tiring.
Done with this thread, waste of energy. The oblivious can’t be convinced of the obvious.
Valid counter point:
1- Even though it is available underater, making available above water still requires time and energy.
2- creating the ability to choose beteen autocast and targeted is even more coding that’s required.
3- The system you propose is already broken
You should spend more time considering what your saying instead of swatting flies. All you said is that we can do it underwater so that somehow means no time and energy is needed to make it optional above water? Not even you believe that one. But that’s probably why you are “done with this thread”.
To be fair, neither I or anyone else (I assume) who will post in this thread is a developer of GW2, so talking about resources and time management on a specific task is quite ridiculous, the answer is….you do not know what is takes. I would like a heavy armor class that would be fit a damage & control effects.
Rather than a warrior who is full damge (+offensive support) and a Guardian that is supposed to have less damage than a warrior but bring defensive utility, the new char would bring medium damage (not outclassing war neither guard) but would bring offensive utility spells.
Class: Reaver
Mechanics: Heavy armor, battlefield control aka crippling, weakening, lifestealing, etc.
Roleplay: think of Dragon Age origins, reaver class, blood mage class and imagine a warrior clad in plate mail, enraged in a bloody berserker mode using his life resource to harm and destroy his enemies, utilizing torment, bleeds, weakness.
Warriors aren’t the intellectual type you know… To play an ele you have to spend 3 months figuring out a good build with your calculator, hit 5 keys a second in battle and compensate for the 3 sec lag avg of every skill, have the best great and all ascended trinkets to compensate for your class beeing the weakest; all this to get beaten to a pulp by a warrior bashing a few keys.
Why would you spend 3 mnonths figuering out a good build, when these builds already exists / calculations were done and you just have to copy paste? In fact, with access to no information or any data whatsoever, the same can be said for all classes. Lag is relevant for all proffesions, not just the one you play. Ascended trinkets, same answer.

I will start.
This is the 3rd topic on behalf of teq on this page alone. If you scroll onto page number 2 of this sub-forum you will find exactly 5 topics on teq. On page number three, there are 4 threads. etc.
Conclussion:
responding to your discussion attempt is futile because you obviously pay 0 attention on what is being written on these forums and anyone who keeps popping up these threads with the same topics being talked about all the time should seriously consider to stop piling them up.
Autoattack on Grenade kit 1.
It’s the fault of the community really….
Ask yourself, why are you purchasing skins, that are one-time use only? This only encourages A-Net to keep this concept alive because they receive the cash and their economical targets are being met. I can almost guarantee you that this will be not “fixed” as long as people keep purchasing them in the current state. Only a drop in sales will drive a change, not a forum post. I have never-ever spend money on a skin I would be not able to reuse, and I am not going to do so as long as this crappy system exists.
Exotics are easy to get!
Do champ Zergs, World Boss Events, Orr temple events.
Just doing Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale once a day will get you one!
One word baby, RNG. I remember a streak of several weeks where I did world bosses, some farmtrains in Frostgorge and did 0 exos. My luck is 76%. The last exo I saw was from a regular run at CoF part 1, I actually managed to get an exo with a traveler rune on it…but yeah that was 4 days ago?
Same thing unfortunately. I do not consider the update from win 8 to 8.1 an issue since the performance is bad all the time.
Hello all,
tried a lot of googling / searching but I would honestly like a first hand experience opinion.
I have quite bad FPS, example: when in a zerg fight at WvW, game goes from slow to unplayable at some point, and I seem to NEVER hit over 50fps even if being placed in the most people empty areas of the game. It is very frustrating, i tweaked the GPU settings in the game to as low as possible, my drivers are up to date, etc.
Would you suggest some optimization software? Upgrade, if so which component? (current specs)
-Intel Core i5 3570 Ivy Bridge
-RAM 8GB DDR3
-NVIDIA GeForce GT640 4GB
-Win 8.1
I also considered issues with my connection. Although I have access to fiber-optic net, I use a Wi-Fi to connect on my PC (practical reasons) but I dont think this should matter.
Any suggestions appreciated. thnx
I fail to see your issue OP. If you hate it dont do it?
If there would be a reliable way (other than g/store) to get transmutation crystals, it would be more acceptible. My main is 83% world completation, Alt is 43% + 3 more alts that are not yet lvl 80 so I dont count. Thusfar, I saw one transmutation crystal. But this is obvious…since it’s an item that is basically required getting from the store, I dont expect much more to see. Let’s dont slip into economics of anet, I simply wish to see a way to use meta skins for more than once…
Fun fact, been pugging and a mesmer in my party used feedback on malrona at TA just at the best possible time when she was about to use her poison burst. She puked herself and got down with about 20% of her life, which killed her. We all were like (O_O)
I was going to respond in a wave of sarcasm and put up some similar comparisons on “oh, I wish my warrior would have stealth” etc. But than I realized your post makes no sense.
- you are trying to take warrior traits and put them on a different class 0/10
- 100b is a channeled abillity that stops your movement and requires your enemy to be rooted, go and use this in WvW, tell me how you fared.
- warrior is gettting nerfed on december 10 both hammer and longbow, pls promise you arent going to lvl up til 80 than come to warrior forum and re-roll guardian because they are “op”
- no they do not have perma-fury
Sorry to tell you, but this topic seems to be opened in a new thread approx. 2x per week, just scroll down…
Yes, Teq. is sort of abandoned. It takes a mass of people to join the event and that sometimes requires hosting to a different server (too much fuzz) and if you happen to plan on joining an organized fight, you need to come 1 hour pre-start to sparkfly in order to not be thrown into the overflow upon entering the instance. I tried it 2x one time I managed to join on time and we still failed…obviously this event isnt catered for a casual player but is more of a massive 100 man semi-hardcore player zergfest. Dont get me wrong, people sometimes organize and maybe suceed doing it, just check the forums and if you are comfortable with this kitten of an event, do it.
I use the following:
PvE & Dungeons: axe/mace + greatsword (possibly longbow) with 30/25/0/0/15
WvW: Hammer + Longbow with 0/10/30/0/30, this will be changed post dec.10 but I assume I keep playing hammer.
I go full zerker gear.
In PvE sure, although I still pref. axe/mace main hand. In WvW not at all. Landing 100b is just not happening, I always change traits and go hammer. People dodge like crazy and taking x skills, a different weapon set-up in order to make up the gs usefull is wrong.
Hello,
I created an alt thief and I immediately noticed that whenever I use a smoke related skill/combo, the FPS goes as low kitten -8. This is ridiculous since I can WvW zerg, group dungeons and whatnot without probs, but dropping a group stealh combo field immediately lags for a second or two…this is neither smooth nor acceptible.
- How did you fixed your thief? thnx for help
No and no. In time, you will realize that not everybody is mature enough or sensible to be able to use such tools. What I see is elitism “omagad no exotic gloves, kick dungeon”. And than duel request spam-fest “c’mon noob, dont chicken out, I am soooo better than u”.
Want to know gear: ask. Want to PvP: do it in the way its intended to.
No thanks.
So, I have a mesmer that was lying at the char screen and I decided to completely dedicate him to WvW. I must say….very happy so far. I use the blackwater build with somewhat hybrid equipment right know. I am runing rabid gear with only my 2nd weapon set being sword/sword a berserker stats, rest of equipment is rabid.(precision/toughness/condi dmg) Now to my question, lets consider I would want to use the following peaces of weapons: sword, scepter, torch, *maybe focus.
What would you do, what stas would the weaponry have?
→ sword/sword + scepter/torch; sword/torch + scepter+focus, something else?
thnx
I know that there are at least 2x Guilds working together at Dzagonur server that annouce the temple raid a day before they attempt it (start 20:30 yesterday I think). So far, been there 2x and it goes rather smooth. Commies know what to do and they manage to keep track of the invasions, NPSs, etc. Might as well appeal to particular guilds, seems to work.
I am running war and would never use more than 2 sigs (including heal sig). It sucks when you see a 5 sig warrior because it harms the team a lot. To have a banner in a tough fight does oh-so-much more than a passive x effect stucked only to the warrior when you can boost the precision and crit chance (15%!!!!) for the whole team. Not to mention for great justice, etc. Since the dungeon fights are basically taking place in a static location where people stack together, you cant justify taking sig over banner / FGJ.
To put it simple, politely ask the person using sigs to take a banner at the beginning of the run.
I was looking through possibly armor to be used for my charr warrior as legging. No dungeon armor, or standard exotic armor made me feel happy. I eventually decided to buy T3 simly because of the skin. I already had a transmute lvl 80 so I did it. Although I am now very happy with how my charr looks, it is kind of a rip off. 25g+transmute = gg. The scary part will be ascended armor and the need to reskin.
What will happen: Tengu
- too convenient map positioning, attunement towards the world of tyria
- rich story and lore options aka the houses, culture, esthetics
- customizable
- not treated as a sub-race in the world aka. skritt, dredge, grawl, quaggan,..
What I want to happen (but will not): a version of risen (not one that became a risen, one that was “born as such”
- government: palawa joko
- start location: crystal desert, check the map, deserts are not available yet
- limitless options, ballzy design incoming
oh my god…. I didnt even realized / forgot this option is available O_O
You sir, just saved me some nice gold and time! Thank you!!!
As for 450, yes…I can imagine…
Hello all,
I recently got to 430 and I find myself in a tough spot. The only way to proceed further seems the apothecary orichalcum inscription based recepis but man…it would cost a fortune to acquire 30 karka shells for a single inscription. Can somebody out of his/her exp tell me if its worth getting it? Or is the level gain so small that I will be better off crafting superior sigils / consumables. Also, is farming for karkas viable? I tried out a quick run through southsun cove but it was underwhelming…
thnx for help
I play a Charr and I have a godkitten hard time figuering out where on earth I am standing at (feet slipping away from an actual location, non-intuitive physics at jumps). Even if I do, and jump correctly, there is like a 99% chance to jump to a point where the camera totally glitches because of an object flying directly up my head (a tree branch, leaves, terrain..) and it zooms on my body to like 200% completely trolling me in my next move. And then you encounter something like the metrica province puzzle and ask yourself, why bother…
edit: done the wall breach puzzle, morgans leap, hidden garden.

I tried it. I really really wanted them to be good. But I can stand it. The constant requirement of keeping charges up, the feeling of them is incredibly dull and the way it works is just not for me. It’s a terrible mechanic. I wish they would put more emphasis on the inspiration signet which is cool and unique and do a total rework of mantras.
What would be the best build option for an Mesmer now. Let’s assume I play Dungeons, WvW and I do not care about a prefered playstyle. What would be “hardcore” complementing the current kit.
1.) Frostgorge sound champ train. There are always people doing it, you can keep killing champs super fast and super easy until the point you would want to puke.
2.) Dungeons are decent, pick one, learn the mechanics and keep running it. Though I do it for the tokens.
3.) Save money by not buying stuff from listed prices on the trading post, always make customer offers and wait a bit – totally worth it.
Considering that twitch link, I assume it is as 12:00 PM PDT time which equals 21:00 CET time, basically 3.5 hours from the second I made this post.
I am using 30/0/0/10/30 with Axe/Mace main, Rifle secondary. I am doing PvE most of the time, sometimes WvW. My reason to bring the rifle in a dungeon/random boss/WvW/
- longer base range than a longbow (Yes, I am aware of the trait that adds on this, I dont care about sacrificing my DPS)
- relatively fast adrenaline stacking making the F1 fast, reliable, useful
- the rifle applies vulnerability, can smash subject alphas CoE/ spiders TA up a wall
I am just a random guy, but this works for me.
Ascalon and Charr territory are my favorite in general. I love the background music, ruins of former human presence, feeling of the place.
Eventually got the path done, it was hard. (Random group.)
Some things I found buggy, some that were frustrating.
- ooze room, elementals not easy to kite. “kite the elementals” looks goods on paper, but regardless how many times you hit at it, regardlesss how much in front of it you stood, it kept attacking the kittening ooze. This puzzle seemed to be luck based, where the amount of eles spawned and the point where they spawn will determine the success.
- the charr boss will not drop a chest for you if you are dead on his defeat. It did not mattered how much dps you threw at him, if you were dead on the end, no loot for you.
- The final boss issues:
not properly reseting. After dying/trying again, we found ourselfs blasted with a massive shockwave right ahead the start
clockworks already rolling on the floor in massive numbers, restricing the movement options – these should be reseted as well, but…
all floor electrified. The hologram kill near the boss should in theory neutralize the floor, but I found ourselves fighting in a one pizza sized room exactly 2 times, 2 different runs.
Thats raid over.
Annoying boss combo: shockwave into a clockwork mine that was thrown into the pedestal right before my crash, which was surrounded by a electrified floor at the same time. (LOL???)
- chests: used 3x keys, got junk. Give me reason to replay, no thnx.

Hello all,
to put it simple – I hate how single-handed weapons look on char. I was using a GS and it was a breeze, but due to the nature of WvW, PvE, Dungeons combined, I decided to gear towards Axe/Mace main and rifle second weapon. Now, the Axe/Mace look tiny and fade away in esthetics compared to GS. Can somebody please suggest a skin or way to make this more bearable? Ideally, a solution that wont require me to sit for x days in frostgorge, zerg farming the champs like it would fun.
-> currently using the exotics 80 bought in WvW for badges.
Thnx
Why was your friend trying to complete the living story content when he could not keep up? I am an adult, I work, etc. and when new content comes out I immediately ask myself “1.) is it fun? …2.) can I realistically complete it without pushing it?”. If the answer is no, I dont care and have fun the other way around. Because of this, I completed the boss week achievement and got my teq wings, or on the other hand, I completely ignored the actual teq. fight. Tried it 4x times, best what our server was able to do is 50% HP, so I dont care. It’s just basic assesment of time / fun factor / difficulty.
I dont even care about Trahearne, I do care however…about the lazy design of the the personal story past you pick an order to join. “oh, this lizard risen is actually an orrian spy” …“claw island” …“retake it”, “your mentor dies”, hence and repeat. It might be OK the first time around, but once you want to breach into a different story with a different order to choose, it just goes straight forward into the gutter. Nothing personalizied about the same events being acted out by different characters with the same outcome.
Dont consider necromancy as evil. It is the ever-present cycle of life. the acknowledgement that life blooms and fades. You are not choosing to be a sylvari necromancer because you despite life and the living, you chooce this path because you are merely taking a vital role in the circle of life. As a sylvari you are bound to this world more than any other being, you know that this art comes from the land itsefl.
Well, I am a completely new player to GW2 (started about 1.5 month ago) and so far, my experience involves a lvl80 mesmer, 55 Warrior, 25 necro.
I enjoy the warrior and consider this a pretty powerful class, however…my biggest issue with this class is the look and feel of his skill-set, particulary F1. I am not talking about effectivenes, but I could honestly use MORE mechanical options, something for F2, F3. Its very boring to have just this one option when comparing to a rather rich table of skillselection when browsing through some other classes, also many utility skills are just plain and dull upon usage. Like…you get an elite signet of rage skill and you are “rewarded” by a hello kitty experience each time you activite it.
I would welcome an alternative way to utilize the adrenaline. For example, greatsword F2 would burst towards all targets in a line applying a condition moving you a set distance from the casting range (think the necromancers Foul Current/trident skill) . However, it could be only used while in melee, so it would not become another gap closer. It contains both the advantage of striking more foes, doing a different thing while having the disadvantage of getting you out of your targets dps range..possibly launching you into a mob. It offerers both variability and choice.
