I have to disagree with this point. Me and I guess many other people would participate, though.
Some people even donated much money against all odds to get the high rewards.
2 members of my guild have the same problem until now .. seems like a mistake

It’s just once again Arenanet balancing combat around PvP-related activities and ignoring how it impacts those that play in PvE
I don’t understand the GS nerf, though. Greatsword wasn’t viable in PvP and won’t be. None has used it.
To nerf it with a PvE-point of view it’s mindless and to nerf it with a PvP-point of view it’s mindless as well
In PvP you actually don’t play with those 2 traits
Firstly, you can’t have one because warrior has no skills you can activate instant at the same time like thiefs backstab + steal or mesmers shatter + blink.
You always have a casttime+aftercast.
Secondly, neither Greatsword will be viable nor Sword will be. But properbly in WvW it is. But well…. there you can faceroll with everything – thanks to the skillfull oppenents
(edited by dominik.9721)
Expected
Warriors see life a bit harder, and now will not be able to spam burst skill till they land, BUFF THEM, OMG THE END IS NEAR, WE ARE DOOMED xDL2P, don’t be lazy, all those 3 burst skills are really good and powerful, they should be harder to land
sorry to burst your bubble, but on the contrary my build will be a faceroll after this patch hits.
my build currently requires imo a high skill & a lot of key combination to play properly, after the patch it will be a faceroll, even those who are new to warrior will own with it, i expect a huge amount of QQ.
year… ofc….. The only “buff” warriors will get is a rifle and rampage buff.. maybe you can count greatsword f1 as a buff, too. The sad thing is nothing of that is viable and nothing of that will be viable.
The meta won’t change because of the nerfs/buffs – a hambow warrior or a 2/0/6/06 axe warrior will be just weaker than before. That’s all
Edit: Pls don’t talk about “key combination” – as a warrior you even havn’t a combination where you have to press 2 buttons at the same time like other classes.

After destroying his relitation turret you can FGS him behind a pillar as well
Last Time I used LFG, I had the luck to get in a group with at least one well known Player of a decent guild.
The bad thing was ,he killed half of the group by rushing forward and playing like he’s doing the dungeon solo just to show his “skills” and talking big.
So year … I don’t really need elitists in a group if they can’t play in a group.
And I noticed this behavior of certain guilds lot of times.
If this is the general case, it’s not that surprise where all the hate towards elitists comes from. The demeanor of some elitists in the community is just whack.

Backstab should reveal on miss/block/invul, true. Same as warrior bursts should consume adrenaline when miss/block/invul (with an additional nerf to Cleansing Ire so they are not entirely immune to conditions).
That’s the reason you shouldn’t give balance advices.
That would just make the warrior even stronger.
Finally you don’t need Longbow for cleaning irse or what is this?
However, warrior will thank you – please consume adrenalin, allthough they don’t hit their target. Condition remove for free <3
Well, that’s a big difference because the teams chosed a 2 warrior / 2 guard setup to complete a fast and safe run.
A party with 2 elementalists will be faster, though if everything is going well.
Swamp,Ascalon,Cliffside,Molten, dredge are all fractals were FGS is very powerfull – yes you can FGS Ashym as well.

hehe ofc I talked about Andal
I like the bosses in Hotw p2. At least you can’t FGS them that easy
^
None of the pve grinders care about pvp because they got destroyed in a hotjoin or are too scared to try or mainly because of the complete lack of rewards for pvping compared to mindlessly grinding boring/abysmal pve content.
Properbly a mad PvPer
Well done !
I ask myself why we didn’t come up with the idea doing the third boss behind a corner.
In PvP axe/axe isn’t viable.
Easy
Or increase enemies healthpools by 10 times. No nerf for eles but no more ’fiery afk sword".
That isn’t that bad idea if you watch the Hotw bosses in p2 and story mode. They’re pretty hard to kill with FGS and if you try there’s always a big chance to wipe.
On the other hand, more hp can’t be a real solution of course
@BurrtheKing
The advantage of the warrior is at the same way his weakness.
Let me explain.
The reason why so many beginners are “good” with warrior is because warrior has a simple mechanic. For example, to deal huge damage he only has to hit with f1 eviscerate. Compared to a shatter mesmer who has to throug his sword Gs 2 → blink during the animation → dodge after and shatter with f1, it’s easy to handle.
But at the same way it’s horrible easy to evade and neglate warrior attacks.
It’s easier to avoid an eartshaker than an elementalist burst combo or a full shatter.
It isn’t that new that even good warriors are losing against any decent S/D thief or med guard who are able to outplay a warrior completly with evades , blocks and blinds.
This is btw. the reason why Longbow is such a strong weapon. Because those attacks aren’t that easy to evade (ofc pindown is) You’ve ever noticed that a Hambowarrior with berzerk stats deals more condition dmg than dmg with his hammer against S/D thiefs ?
Warrior isn’t OP, just easy to handle for beginners.

Year because 90% of all cases you get safestomped and there it is very important you have 50% less hp in downstate
:3
You’re right Ivan, but for example I don’t really enjoy soloing / duo dungeons allthough it becomes more difficult. I just didn’t buy Gw2 to play alone, on the contrary, I actually only like to play in a group.
The trashmobs in Gw1 are very different compared to trash in Gw2. Even the trash there was sometimes more challenging than most bosses of Gw2. Further most of the “trash” had to be killed because it was part of an event in the dungeon.
(edited by dominik.9721)
I doubt the current dungeons will change. I don’t like them, because they have never the right difficulty:
- for a new player, they are ridiculously difficult
- for an experienced player, they are not challenging (I don’t want additional difficulty, an experienced player simply misses something interesting in the fights)Most of them are too short. They seem long because of long static (and boring) boss fights, but the dungeon area is in fact very small. Not much to see. I remember 5 level deep dungeons in GW1 – that was fun! You killed huge quantities of trash mobs on your way instead of single legendary bosses that consumes half of your dungeon time. Take the boss away, and your dungeon time is only 5 minutes.
^This I feel completly the same
Well, those builds are known for 8 months or even longer…
@Dominik
Runes are personal choice and flame legion runes are a decent choice to mix with Fiery Wrath but if you don’t want to be ran away from easily during a fight from a class with decent swiftness up time or 25% movement signet/trait you’ll want travelers runes to not feel like a turtle.
Skullcrack or hammer CC chain which I can dodge and follow up with a blind right after to avoid the next hit and get some hits in.
Over for mesmers and other classes you mean kind of like Mace+Shield/GS warrior, or a Eviscerate warrior? The only mesmers that get dunked by the burst of a guardian like that are absolute glass that don’t know it’s a DPS speced guardian. I know clone death hybrid/condi mesmer dumps on meditation guardian because there’s not enough consistent condition removal to remove the crap ton of weakness you get applied with, following the many conditions you get hit with.
well…. I talk about PvP… There is no need for traveller – there aren’t mace/ shild warriors and there aren’t hybrid condi mesmers.
And no you don’t have to dodge precisely compared to other classes. As Mesmer for example you are nearly dead if you get hit by pindown or sigent of spite. Guard doesn’t really care about it – at least he isn’t inmedantely a dead man. They are more fault-tolerant than a lot of other classes
(edited by dominik.9721)
Especally, if you are talking about PvP / WvW your arguments are very invalid, sorry.
With a simple standard mediation guard build, you have access to vigor, a lot of blocks, blinds and you are with 3 mediations more sustained than a warrior. You can make so many mistakes and be still alive with incredible condition convert and awesome selfheal while you are dealing huge damage.
Medguard is the only class which is nearly as easy to play as a warrior in PvP.
No execusesUm what? over 5k hours on guardian and I’m going to say this, meditation healing only takes you so far. The normal Meditation builds have barely any protection and are pretty squishy very squishy. Most of the survivability comes from well timed dodges blinds and some blocks. Which is to compensate for the low health pool. If you aren’t running Traveler’s you’ll feel slow, and most classes that know guardian can easily kite you around. Not to mention any sort of Chain CC or Condition overload will normally be the end of you or flip a fight heavily against you. You don’t have any escape buttons and you don’t have mad CC stuns. And if you want to compare bring a shout warrior with HS. Just as potent as a meditation guard’s heals. And as far as SPVP goes other classes they’re food in team fights or just food for me in general.
Firstly, you don’t run traveler – you run flame legion to gain the dmg boost by burning foes.
Secondly, “well timed” dodges has to be a joke, isn’kitten It doesn’t matter if you fail a pindown, which would be the game over inmediately for other classes like mesmer, nor it matters if you get hit by a necro fearchain with singet of instawin because your mediation is a stunbreaker, too.
Thirdly, the random blocks and blinds are very usefull to survive and scepter auotattack pewpewpew is also very strong.
I don’t say Guard is easy but it isn’t that harder than warrior and doesn’t require that amount of skill some people think – deal with it.
I’m watching so many dps-guards in 1vs1-Server and while watching them , I can’t say wheather they are experience dps-guards or inexperience guards
On the contrary, I saw so many times fameous dps guards losing against some random guards.
EDIT: Do you really compare med guard to a shoutwarrior? shout warrior isn’t even really viable in PvP..

EA doesn’t bring that big difference, some people think.
In PuG-groups for example, I don’t run EA anyway because I can’t be sure that the people I’m running with will benefit sufficiently.
There is new buffood. I think it’ll supersede the old one, am I right?
Someone of you noticed something special at Alphard in Arah p2 ? We fought him in the general corner and he resetted 5 times.
Is this a PvE or a PvP build?
However it doesn’t really matter, I think
Next generation TVH Staffguard
Can you send it me via PN? Would be nice
Do you have got any video of your arah p2 run against us?
(edited by dominik.9721)
So you seriously want to tell us that you did Dwayna legit solo?
(edited by dominik.9721)
Congratulations to SC and thank you DnT
I think you just have a different definition of “stacking”.
There is a big difference between staying melee while you have to act precisely and “stacking” in a corner, doing nothing except of dpsing trash / bosses with fgs.
(edited by dominik.9721)
Year I follow you but I missed the last 3 days, so gz to eternety.
I think I’ll get a second greatsword to gain the 10% boost all the time.
Nice, Thank you!
Hey guys, we , Kreios [KRS], didn’t find on the DnT-side the feature to subscribe.

Are the sigills up to date?
Btw. in arah is it day or night?
My problem is with the way you write, you don’t sound like you’re actually looking for answers, but instead seem to be here to tell us about how easy everything is and that people who call themselves “skilled” are idiots.
That was not my intention sorry for that, allthough it is true that I’m often very kittend how a lot of experienced Pvers are acting so complacently towards people without that amount of experience
I am open to taking your question seriously though. I enjoy soloing content because on my mesmer I can and have go take various different approaches at each encounter, and learn my class as well as the encounters a lot better that way.
That aside, there are a lot of things harder than arah p2, I personally had a lot of fun wit soloing fractals like Cliffside and volcanic(shame I can’t redo it on mes atm). That aside I had more trouble with the legendary svanigandr than I ever had with lupi, and if you’re really up for some fun you should try the hotw story boss solo.
Even subject alpha can be a pretty challenging encounter on warrior from what I heard, and if you really run out of ideas you can, indeed, introduce your own gambits, but only if they genuienly make it more fun for you (no armor isn’t fun imo)
Thank you for that! That’s what I searched for and at least one who understand what I think about "no armor etc. " :P
I’ll try fractals first I think. Sounds like a funny idea
(edited by dominik.9721)
Iam working atm on my lvl 40 ranger and I got some cool ideas from my firends. So it seems I’ll get some fun in soloing anytime soon.
Ty @ the people with some serious advices
- Let’s just keep this thread for those interested in soloing and who like pve, hmmkay?
I like PvE, I spent like 80% of my Gw2-time in dungeons. I worked with my guild for a cm p3 worldrecord ( get it for round about 2 days before SC ^^) etc.
Iam just disappointed because firends always told me that I have to start with soloing and that it requires so much skill. Now it was done and I didn’t enjoied it., because killing Alphard by spamming autoattack during walking in a circle wasn’t that fun.
Therefore I asked for sth. which is simillar challenging and fun like Gw1.
It was my only question
How do you guys enjoy soloing Gw2 content? Is there something more fun than arah p2?
Don’t know what your problem is. At least Wethospu could give some firendly and serious answers
(edited by dominik.9721)
You mean with man mode full melee, allthough her patched poisn fields, I guess?
I already defeated her , for sure not 100% melee. I played with GS/ Longbow to get out of her poisn fields. I don’t enjoy to make content artificially hard, so I think I wouldn’t enjoy to beat the spider, only because I stayed melee 100%
In Gw1 for example I enjoied to solo FoW fullrun as ranger. I just miss something simillar to that in Gw2.@maha
I only have a warrior at 80 ,sorry for that. @ Belka I could hide aswell behind the pillars instead of running ooc wouldn’t require more “skill”.
And because I did lupicus solo the first time I didn’t know how to push him infront of the wall.“I don’t enjoy making content artificially hard, that’s why I soloed a boss/dungeon”.
If you don’t like it … don’t do it.
It’s a difference between soloing stomething without groupmates and to shoot yourself in your own leg.
But I have get lot of new advices and ideas from some friends, which I’ll try out. So it won’t get to much boring up to ToL 2.
(edited by dominik.9721)
Year that’s right. But It just doesn’t make me more proud because I did arah p2 for example without any dodges. It’s the same achiv – Arah p2 solo.
Dunno in Gw1 it was so fun to solo. In Gw2 I played a lot of PvP now I started with soloing and Iam just disappointed.
But a friend already told me arah p4 ( for sure without dwayna) requires more skill than p2 – so I’ll try this in near future. Properly it needs some time that I can enjoy this, otherwise I have to return to Solo PvP and normal fast dungeon runs with my guild.
(edited by dominik.9721)
Properly I’ll try it, but I don’t think that I’ll enjoy that. How I said I don’t enjoy content that I make artificially hard for myself.
But ty for your help and advices
