It’s alright but far away from beeing good. Rom played sometimes GS/Longbow and the only reason he did was to rush far at the beginng of the match to decap it and causing under number situations. But theres simply no reason to play a GS Warrior if you can have a Mesmer/Thief comp which is doing the same as twice as good the warrior does.
He also only played it in soloq and never in teamq.
Warrior isn’t in a good state for spvp at all so pls don’t make the current state even worse by playing weak builds.

yes warrior droped a bit out of the meta. But there a still serveral meta comps and teams who are playing with warriors. doesn’t matter if in NA for example apex prime or in EU. Cheesmode for example played even with 2 warrs last tol.

pls don’t try wvw roaming builds in pvp. they suck even in wvw and are even worse in pvp

I wouldn’t say warriors are still awesome in PVP. They are being easly outshined by rangers right now. DD ele, Necro and engi also in better spots in PVP.

For WvW they are needed for condi clears and banners. Nothing changes there however for roaming they are definitely not as good as they used to be and can be killed by anyone decent that knows what they are doing.

PVE they are needed for banners and if it wasn’t for the banners no one would want one. As thier DPS has been reduced to low tier.

Wow because Rom rolled ranger? Theire are plenty of teams right now who are still playing with warrior.
Does it matter if warriors are needed in Pve because of their banners or because of their dps? Mesmer is needed for portals, Guards are needed for stability and aegis … so what? Who cares about their dps if they are still a must have in a group…. PuGs think warrior is the highest dps,though…

Warriors are still awesome in PvP and a part of serveral meta comps doesn’t matter if EU or NA. They are in a good spot for WvW and are alright for roaming.
They are still necessary in PvE-Speedcleargroups and still the easiest class to solo content in PvE.
So all in all nothing really changed for the warriors position.

That’s the reason why I was not reffering to OP.
In PvE Warrior is still fine. He is at the same way necessary for the group as before.
He’ll also get a slight buff on mace offhand which is really nice 2 have

I don’t talk about tpvp , I mainly talk about the 2vs2 servers and 1vs1ns at all. And if you already would have fought players out of the top 20 leaderborad like sîzer, the prototype or thjiskn you would know that any GS build is bad, especally without longbow.
And if you would face players like that in WvW you will get facerolled with a strange GS/Axe build. Your f1 will never hit, when you stick at greatsword they can type /dance and after your berserker stance is gone you can use your greatsword to run away.
Another option would be to play a meta build and face those players with a real chance to win. You can decide. No doubt, you can’t play those builds in WvW because you lack at mobility but that doesn’t make a GS/Axe build good.
Since WvW roamers often fight people 1on1 or 2on2 / 3on3…., I guess it’s necessary to kitten a build how it fits in those situations.
And a greatsword /axe build is terrybad in those situations if you play against players who aren’t at the skilllvl most of the roamers are at.

I don’t run PvP-builds in WvW because you can’t play a hambow or sth. else there.
But it doesn’t change the fact that WvW “warrior-builds” are bad builds,though.
Play against classes who can play pvp builds in WvW like S/D thiefs, terrormancers, 60062 engis and you’ll get facerolled with an GS/Axe , GS/hammer build , even if the oppenent make a lot of mistakes.

Huh… I run it in wvw and win most of my fights… probably around 80% of my 1v1s on average. I can also burn people down in group fights and have decent sustain (shield offhand). Really depends on what I’m up against.

Decent p/d thieves and, to a lesser extent, s/d thieves can cause me trouble, but I’m not sure yet if they’re a hard counter (p/d thieves anyway).

Yes because you fight WvW-Roamers. People who will win against any GS/Axe build probably aren’t even playing WvW. They have to take care about the leaderboard. Have fun against them to land some f1 and sticking on Greatsword without a meta longbowbuild.
As I said, winning with a GS/Axe build means your oppenent or his build sucks.

For those you have Berserker Stance, it helps at least for the inicial moments. S/D in WvW Idk if it is counter but in sPvP sure is. You are not beating one in sPvP with a GS unless they really suck

Actually you need longbow in WvW at the same way you need it in spvp. As Burtheking mentioned, you won’t be really viable without longbow on the contrary, longbow is the strongest weapon the warrior can use.
If you win fights in WvW with GS /hammer or GS/Axe builds actually means your oppenent suck or probably his build does.

Right, in WvW the skillbase is so low, you fit better with builds where you have to land earthshaker which is very hard to evade.
But no problem some day you will fight people who are in the top 10 of the leaderboard instead of WvW-nonames and you will realize that you miss the longbow.

Somebody said to me sth. exist called projectile finisher. Not to mention that you stay 70% of the time in the firefield ,though because of it’s big area.

As I said,maybe in WvW there are some people out who get facerolled by Earthshaker and 100b but I can promise you that builds like that basically suck in 1vs1 comps.

I can promise you that any decent Terrormancer, a 02660 ranger or a 60062 engineer will faceroll your Hammergratsword build and they don’t really need to make an effort. Maybe it’s true that it works against WvW-heroes who will eat some #f1 but that’s not the point. Every Warriorbuild which misses the longbow has a huge disadvantage. It’s not just the condi cleanse the Longbow offers. With pindown longbow 3 and nearly perma burning which hurts even without any condition stats, the longbow is the strongest weapon the warrior can use.
At the same way I can promise you that in a 1vs1 a hambow will win easily against a Greatsword-Hammer build even if the hambow will make some mistakes.
No doubt, you can’t play hambow in WvW but the lack of mobility is the only reason you can’t.

For 1vs1 hambow is quite good and much better than any Greatsword / hammer, Sword /Hammer builds most of the wvw heroes go for.
The problem is you need greatsword or sword for the mobility. therefore you have to decide to run either a build which is much weaker than pvp builds or you run pvp builds which lacks in mobility.

I think dungeons and fractals don’t need open world jerks.
Probably anet remove champs to trashmobs then

One is the lonliest number that you’ll ever do.
Two can be as bad as one but it’s the path we’ll do.

Remove the gold,remove the little crapy chests/champboxes and insert a rewarding chest at the end of the dungeon with the chance to get a rare skin similar to the aetherpath.

Grab a Greatsword,go Berserk,take banner, press 100 blades as fast as you can, kill your groupmates by rushing forward, offend them as terrible noobs who are even worse to skip and you are almost a good warrior

I think,04406 is much better.burst-mastery is still a key-skill for longbowbuilds

I guess Rom played those builds a few days ago so I think, they are already published.

As I said we didn’t spot a difference by using a PS-Warrior and a Staff – Elementalist compared to a Dps-Warrior and a Lightninghammer-Elementalist except that we didn’t have to care about lightning/fire/chaosfields.
It happend so often that you can’t re-stack might because either a timewarp was missplaced or a guardianfield overwrite the firefield.
But I guess every group has to decide it for it’s own.

Then we are probably just to bad and go the easy way to compensate bad elementalists.
However, we tested it in the mists. The dps difference from PS-Warrior / Staff Elemenatlist compared to Dps-Warrior / Lightninghammer Elementalist was hardly noticeable and you don’t have to pay attention to set firefields / timewarps / guardfields properly.

This build is what makes a pug group decent. In any sort of organised pve group, not a single warrior should equip it, the ele will give you all the might you need.

In the current meta speedclear groups (Warrior,Engi,Guard,Ele,Thief /Mesmer)
A Phalanx warrior becomes very useful in dungeons where bossfights are longer than 15 seconds for example in coe.
In practice it’s hard to re-stack might after 15 seconds with one elementalist during the whole fight. timewarps and guardianfields can overwrite the firefield. Furthermore, if your elementalist has to re stack might he won’t be able to play with staff during bossfights. This can be a significant disadvantage sometimes.

You should always spend your adrenalin in PvP, especally with longbow. The burning is strong and in the current meta where you run hölbrak or strenght runes your f1 is necessary to build up might.
And…well… with longbow it’s not hard to land f1

You can use f1 more often and therefore you can use cleaning ire more often.
How long are you playing warrior?
Longbow + cleaning ire + burst mastery ist meta for about 10 months

take a longbow, take burst mastery….don’t deface your warrior

Probably in Guild Wars 2 Aatxe would be just trashmobs you can facetank and Dhuum would be a joke figure you have to zerg down with 50+ people

I feel as much pity to his group he did fractaIs with for his wepaon as I feel to the wvw players who have to see the highest rank using these utilities and those trinkets.
If I wouldn’t have already stop to play WvW, I probably would now.

As Painbow said, hotw especally p2+p3 is hard for LFG – groups. FGS-Corners are hard to spot and you can’t FGS bosses that easy. So either you pick up a guard who’ll give you aegis at the right time or you have to play precicesly. The huge healthpool isn’t that bad in my opinon, because bosses will be still alive even after FGS-rushes. Some bosses, for example Andal, needs to get stunned or deepfreezed to prevent his huge AoE,which can wipes the whole group in a few second. I don’t have to mention that fighting the underwaterbosses melee can hurt as well

……. 1 gold isn’t really worth to run this.

Dungeon population is low? Did I miss something?

I tried a lot of greatsword builds… 6/0/4/0/4…..0/5/5/0/4…..4/0/4/0/6…6/0/2/0/6 with longbow or axe. They’re fun to play but far away from beeing copetitive.
Anyway, I guess these builds will getting weaker with the patch. whirlwhind which is your main dmg will deal less dmg and the new f1 doesn’t look worth to use it instead of longbow f1.

SGS skippy-greatsoword will be still viable in PvE I think

I think you’ll still play with 2 elementalists. Lightninghammer and frostbow for big hitboxes is a must have, though.

Nike mentioned, that the warrior will lose 2,5% of his current dps

I’m looking forward to the FGS nerf,allthough I don’t think it gets much more interesting or harder. You just pick up less one ele , deal less dmg but you’ll be much safer, than a squishy 3-4 ele group. So it won’t be that big deal.
On the other hand, some new tactics will be interesting to build.
I just hope we won’t see now more virgin hammerguard -2 warrior – groups. To watch it was just like… no risk no fun

a second gun ! as warrior you need at least two guns!

I guess the bear rush will get fixed at the same way as FGS rush will get.
Probably all those kind of rushs will get reworked

We could play with a hammer guardian and you won’t see any donwstate.
