It was confirmed that one of the items would be a mini professor mew and we can combine it with a new item to get other cat golem minis. At first I thought professor mew was the crazy Asura but I was soooo wrong. Now if only we could get a mini hero-tron/interface crafter golem and I would be 110% happy.

I am going to be the ultimate bot owner! My mini PK 632Z/Ho-ho-tron loyally follow me, my replica job-o-tron backpack gives me somewhat helpful comments and covers my back (pun intended) and now these drones will help me fight! YEEEEEEEEAH BABY! XD

What’s up with these guys? Are they gonna be signet passives? Minions? One thought I had is juuuussst maybe Mantras. Highly unlikely, but hear me out. Perhaps you charge up the spell and create x number of drones (2-3) that symbolize the charges left on the mantra. You then get access to some instant cast targeted spells that could sick a drone on an enemy or have one help out an ally.

What do you think these things will do? I’m interested to see what traits come out of this. I think I’ll name mine either Wheatley an Skeets. I wonder if anyone here knows who Skeets is…

I like your idea of the drone function, mine is basically they are signets in passive mode and minions in aggressive mode. Seeing these guys and calling them minions reminds me of a certain movie….

As for naming them sadly highly unlikely, ranger pet’s name gets forgotten when we replace pet and we can’t rename mini pets :/

A-net confirmed that this “recap” is actually a brief summary between personal story and season 2 livving world story, the recap didnt mention the story of evon gnashblade and ellen kiel’s position on the Council through voting or the queen’s jubilee (as well as ur post). They plan to recap these events in the future. Even a new player would raise an eyebrow at some details missing (such as canach)

Thank you though for getting this in the game. Even though my girlfriend doesn’t care much about the story, she still is trying to finish it. We have almost finished the personal story together, and this came at a perfect time. I got to play during season 1, but I didn’t pay much attention as I was new to the game and busy exploring other elements of the game. (same reason I’ve never tried SAB, my favorite thing in this game are the jumping puzzles, so you can imagine how sab this makes me)

From playstyle you have no limitations. My oldest character is an Asura Ranger. Sadly there are no official Asura ranger NPCs most of them are either Sylvari or Charr. An Brokka, an Asura in Lion’s Arch owns a drakehound named “Data Dog” but she is not confirmed to be a ranger.

My understanding of the elite specs and new weapon usage is this:

lets say you are {insert Profession name} that has unlocked all traits to be a {insert relevant elite trait line}, the very first minor trait allows the {insert Profession name} to equip the new weapon and access to main spec gameplay.

As for the utility skills I THINK they are separate so technically you could be a greatsword guardian with “dragon hunter” utility skills or a pistol/shield engineer with the flying drones. (I could be completely wrong on this though it would be cool if im right).

A bit off topic, but I just watched the Season 1 recap on Youtube, and I noticed their wasn’t anything on what happened in Southsun. I know the two events that happened there have nothing to do with Scarlet, but perhaps you could add a recap of those two stories in the future? Maybe from Canach’s perspective since he’ll be playing a larger role in HoT?

Yeah, the current recap focuses exclusively on Scarlet’s main objective so a lot of the finer details of each release were left out. This was to keep the cinematic at a manageable (and watchable) length and also present the most relevant details that bridge the Personal Story to Season 2.

That stated, I agree that it’d be cool for people to be able to learn more about the other releases from Season 1, since there were bits of plot and character development in each one. We’ll keep this in mind for down the road. Thanks for sharing.

oh! oh! Another living world event that was not mentioned (which has nothing to do with the “Scarlet War”) was the story arc of ellen kiel and also the queen’s jubilee arc. I am confident you will add it in the future.

While its true that the B-iconics helped us defeat Scarlet, the recap forgot to mention 2 more critical characters: Captain Ellen Kiel and Heal-o-Tron.

as someone who mains engie and ranger I cant wait for the elite specs. However to be fair we know nothing about warrior’s and thief is either getting rifle or staff which both sound pretty cool, there are rumors that thief might get kits.

LET’S MAKE SOMETHING CLEAR:

I NEVER mentioned anything about release date. I’m only saying that A-net releases 3 specs and then takes a 2 month break.

I main and engie and ranger, the 2 classes that were confirmed in the trailer and most likely (along with revenant) the last 3 specs to be revealed.

my hope is that A-net does not take a spec break and simply reveal the 6 remaining specs in the coming weeks.

When Anet started revealing Elite spec I noticed something: they revealed 3 specs, 2 months later they reveal the next 3, and most likely (I could be wrong) 2 month later they will reveal the last 3. So far we have:

Mesmer/chronomancer
Guardian/dragon hunter
necromancer/reaper

My hunch is telling (and I could be completely wrong mind you) we will get:
elementalist/temptest (duh)
warrior/idk where I saw it but a lot of ppl too say i will be berserk
thief/if rifle most likely assassin, if staff something cool

We know weapon, name, an attack and 1 class mechanic (we still have pet) of the ranger, we know weapon and one class mechanic (the little drones) of the engineer, and A-net wants to “save best for last” revenant’s elite spec. I really hope not but I think I and others who main these professions might have to wait another 2 months?

I really hope im wrong and A-net releases the last 6 elite specs each week.

As far as im aware we are only missing like 5 elite specs and the hard group content to be announced maybe after that its release date annoucement? As long as they keep delivering juicy news im content….HAHAHA! “Content” XD

So many replies! I am happy It seems that most of you like Tybalt, he is along my top 5 characters in the gw2 franchise (admitedly I enjoy job-o-tron with my fanboyism of quirky root characters such as R2-D2 and K9).

While I guess I can understand people who don’t like him, to me he is the “simpliest mentor to follow” I only played whispers and vigil storylines, so sadly Sieran is out of my reach but some of my guildmates say she is a fun mentor.

Forgal to me is okay, his story arc like many stories ever told is a bit cliche, and I didnt really got the feeling of him warming up to me or respecting me (which imo thats his thing he starts as this grump who lost his family and warms up to us seeing us as family).

Tybalt however, is like us: a rookie, its cool hearing his excitement when he gets to be on the field with us. We can empathize because we are on the same level, a character adventuring instead of being an actual mentor (although for obvious reasons he is still a “mentor”).

I will not deny Fogal’s sacrifice was heartwarming, however, Tybalt’s imo is more heartwarming he basically tells us he was a cublicle office guy and because of us he is where is right now and saving us is worth everything.

And That’s why Tybalt is one of the best characters.

Heck to make Hero-Tron on the same pedestal (for all of you XD) as this charr the golem would have to genuinely make a heroic sacrifice……which admittedly I don’t want to happen unless we get a mini in return and proper reasons AND funeral XD

After seeing all these elite specs my hunch is telling me that we may be the next to last elite spec revealed (im sure revenant will be the last one)

Mine is job-o-tron/hobo-tron/ho-ho-tron/heal-o-tron/hero-tron.

I find his story arc to be funny, heartwarming, and interesting. I especially like his hobo-tron days when he was bickering with the minister and begging for his life when captured by Scarlet. His role as Heal-o-tron was super useful and his role as Hero-tron is heartwarming, he finally gets gainful employment (and another story arc as a spy). The golem is also a relatable character, even though he loses job after job he never gives up and continues finding a purpose in life (im an aspiring animator so im drawing and drawing).

I however see these elite spec as “an expansion” because when you think about it they are just one extra trait line, you are still an “elementalist” but instead of a secepter/dagger you go scepter/warhorn with added skills, you can completely ignore these if you want to or go “full temptest” dont worry have fun and enjoy the elite spec.

Bro don’t worry, A-net knows its thing, everybody knows that medium armor classes are the best there is, so A-net is doing the “save the best for last” promo. Besides when they first announced elite spec which ones did they confirmed? RANGER in all its glory (aka we know the name and weapon and at least one attack) and ENGIE (know weapon and some form of class mechanic with the flying drones) what do they both have in common? MEDIUM ARMOR BAM shots fired! we win! ranger thief and engie 4 life!

same here! However I do wonder…..if they do make LS S1 re-playable will we see destroyed LA? between the 3 incarnations of LA the newest one I love and the old LA is awesome, destroyed I dont really care much but it would be a nice touch to see in the S1 again.

Canach’s joining the biconics – see the end of the first HoT trailer, where he stands with Braham, Marjory, Kasmeer, Taimi, and Rox.

There is no such thing as ‘c-iconics’ – all those characters sans Hero-Tron were around before the biconics. And as Sorann said, the reason why the biconics are called such is because they have some tie to the iconics – the other reason they’re called such is because they’re 1 member from each race that is meant to replace Destiny’s Edge (aka the iconics) as the players’ NPC traveling party.

What you call the ‘c-iconics’ won’t be adventuring any time soon. Unlike DE and DE 2.0, they’re not adventurers – they’re politicians and businessmen. You have a greater chance of Anise joining the player in adventures. The only one – aside from Canach who’s joining the biconics by all indications (probably due to popular demand by the playerbase loving him so much – and incidentally hating the forced insults the PC gives him) – would be Hero-Tron. But he seems to be effectively under house arrest to keep safe from the Seraph and Consortium, and bribed by Evon to keep tabs on the Captain’s Council so him going out adventuring is unlikely.

I apologize, I thought DE 2.0 or “B-iconics” had the “B” in it because they were a group of secondary characters major characters. I only called this group of characters C-iconics because I saw them as major recurring characters. Would “allies” be a better term?

P.S. I agree with your quote, I see these characters more like politicians and it would be nice of the golem could come with us but on the other hand Hero-Tron has his separate arc now (spying on the council unwillingly and evading the seraph and consortium while we deal with the elder dragons) I hope he joins us in the future or complete his character arc and make him an assistant of Ellen Kiel or something.

Correct me if im wrong but dont we have the option to switch between core and elite spec? so technically once we unlock engie elite spec we would have weapon swap?

ikr? they only gave us a massive revamp of the city and a karka hunt, not to mention all the revenant, upcoming elite spec, and more HoT content. A-net really needs to step up their game in terms of content.

Since we call our little group “B-iconics” I was like “so these guys will go with us, but what about the other prominent characters?” IMO opinion these characters are:

Evon Gnashblade
Ellen Kiel
Magnus the Bloody handed
Hero-Tron
Canach

Personally I found the story of these characters enjoyable, don’t get me wrong I like the biconics, they are okay. But if I had to choose I would want the head of the lionguard, his second in command with Captain’s status thanks to my contribution, the boss of the BLTC, a medic golem with scanners, and a crafty atoning sylvari adventuring with me.

I am going off topic my question is this: what do you think A-net will do with these characters?

We know that Evon will use Hero-Tron as a spy on the Council
and there’s another Evon Gnashblade in the city. Will that be part season 3 of the Living World? Part of the HoT story mode? As much as I want it to happen I don’t think these characters will venture into the jungle. The only exception is Canach which I hope that we get to see how he joins our little group, if not then its poor storytelling.

Some have pointed that there might be trouble between the Consortium and the BLTC. Or that the Consortium will buy the BLTC services.

Magnus’ dialogue might imply a future conflict between Seraph and Lionguard forces:
“They can walk the plank. Divinity’s Reach has the time to hunt for a golem, but it doesn’t have time to help Lion’s Arch when Scarlet attacks? And after this city hosted a relief effort for them during Wintersday?”

yeeeeeah im kinda with OP on this one: the karka might be wild/territorial animals and its understandable to get rid of an infestation. Shooting them on sight seems cruel, they are just hatchlings. IMO it would’ve been a bit nice if we get a magic sack that sucks like a vacuum and give the sack to an NPC that will relocate the hatchlings to Southsun Cove. On a side note Princes is awesome!

I made a post a long time ago that minis should at least have a ranger pet speed (in short being able to catch up and not lag behind) but as for combat? nope because the purpose of a minion/pet/turret/summoned ally would be a bit less useful, besides while it would be nice for minis to do something else (pick up loot have a fighting animation when u fight) minis are purely for show

Boo-hoo for altruism? But if you really want to support A-net do what we all do: buy gems. I like you mindset and while giving real money donations will prob require a real life ho-ho-tron that can travel the world and back to A-net HQ (A-net hint hint). You could put yourself a “sub fee” and buy 10$ gems a month, thats usually what I do sometimes

I dont really know what healing skill to use for when im in a dungeon. If I am correct the elixir H and AED device are strictly self-healing, the med kit 1 seems like an excellent choice but skills 2-5 are ground targeting and im kinda slow with those skills, lastly the healing turret seems like a good choice but none of my core specializations help turrets leaving it vulnerable. Then again I could be completely wrong in any of these statements any advice?

hmmmmm I know we are missing some elite specialization reveal and the “challenging group content” but am I missing something or is that all?
