Truth be told, the return of the White Mantle has been foreseeable since the initial release. It was always a matter of “when and what’s the exact circumstances” not “will it”.

I’ve noticed a handful of errors and assumptions (like the claim that the Ministry control the Seraph – this isn’t true. Only the Queen and the Captains control where the Seraph go), and any relation to O-Tron seems to be restricted primarily to just getting an excuse to push O-Tron towards Kiel and that final battle in LA (every platform had 2 NPCs – O-Tron and Kiel was the southern platform). Aside from those, though, it’s pretty much been how I’ve been seeing it too.

Maybe cuz I looked into it and connected the dots ages ago I began thinking other people did, so I always come out surprised when people think this is a huge reveal. ._.

Sorry meant Logan then. To me Queen Jenah is the ruler of DR (DUH!), but the “leader” or more appropriately the commanding office is Logan (am I right on that one?)

the Ministry part yeah I agree, and to be completely honest the O-tron thing as much as I like the character is “weird” it’s implied the Seraph want to “take him/ arrest him” but Heal-o-tron tells Evon “The Seraph want to use me for an endless series of tasks” as a character who is defined by his job…isn’t doing tasks a good thing? BUT that’s a topic for another day XD Longstory short the mention of O-tron was to emphasize how weak/weird/shaddy the politics are getting (and now with Logan S3 might touch on that).

Long story short this article gives solid theories on why and how the white mantle returns, and imo they nailed it and t be fair it was written in 2014 so mistakes are acceptable.

HOWEVER an interesting thing the article mentions that was not touched anywhere could potentially be seen in S3: how stable is the ministry and politics in DR especially with Seraph’s leader “unstable” condition?

Sorry guys but gw2 is not doing it for me. There’s nothing to keep me going, not even today. I just realized that gw2 is one of the most booooooring mmos out there. It so boring I can describe it with one word: boring.

I asked help in the map chat one day and only 4 and a portal mesmer people helped me, sometimes 7, and sometimes a squad comes my way, awful community.

I am in a guild and I don’t have fun, they all help me with PvE, RP, collections, upgrade hall,dungeons, fractals, and map completion and I still think they are the worst guild ever, not helpful at all

I give all my stuff to Just a Flesh Wound because I love him, he is the only one who gets me.

I am so happy SAB is back, but if there is one thing that made my day was when I entered the first zone and when the cutscene began my mini was enjoying the picnic with me!

I only played “vanilla SAB” and I dont remember my mini being part of the adventure. It was either solo or with party members. Welp looks like I wont be alone in my journey this time XD

Its technically not a big because Im stacking my Fractal Encryptions and chests till Anet fixes Fractals bit by bit, but…………something “frustrating” happened to me that could’ve been avoided if we can buy (they used to be buyable, I swear I remember buying them) X Mists Essence from the BLTC:

While trying to get an (Infused) Attuned ring from the Mystic Forge I accidentally messed up on the Shard of Crystalized Essence…which in turn messed up my number for Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence…which sigh in turn messed up my number of Vial of Condensed Mist Essence and frustrated me and “forced me” to rage open my Chest of the Mist…chests. Whom lastly thank the RNG gave me the EXACT (infused) ring that I was planning on converting to an (infused) attuned ring.

Sadly this left me with 0 Mists Essences, 0 Chests of the mists, and used more than half of my Fractal Encryption (I thought they dropped Mists Essences but I was wrong )

LongShort story for the lazy readers can we have the Fractal Mists Essences back in store please?

Its not a “big” problem (trust me there are way more priorities here) but my whole episode of me mumbling to myself for 30 minutes losing ALL my essences and having to get them again is just frustrating :/

Was doing map completion with a friend in Diessa Plateu. While waiting for him to finish a quest I found a chicken that allowed me to pick it up. Then it hit me:

You “carry” your travel item before actually using it, what if Anet releases a “Chicken Travel Item” we carry our bird around and then we can get on her back and run around just like the Magic Carpet/ Riding Broom/Sonic Tunneling Tool

sigh I know that Anet is going through some really some hard times. They have hyped LW S3 too much imo. If I dont see these characters in LW S3 I’m sorry but Anet you are gonna miss a huge opportunity in terms of storytelling .

The truth is I don’t like the biconics very much and ironically find these supporting characters far more interesting. Am I alone on this one?

For the first time ever I am breaking my code of conduct, for the first time ever I am with full confidence speaking for everyone who posted in this thread. Anet please listen and deliver this:

1. The aftermath of Mordremoth’s defeat. Show us whatever happened to the Pact, how are the sylvari coping with this? Have us attend a ceremony of the Pact leader and the founder of DE.

2. Finish the Sylvari storyline once and for all. Show us what happened to the Pale tree, Malyck and his tree, how th other races react to sylvari now

3. Make the world feel “organically alive.” This time all the races have something to discuss among themselves:
Charr: Rytlock’s new magic this will surely be seen.
Sylvari: pretty obvious would be redundant if I need to explain
Norn: A famous Norn Legend perished at the hands of an Elder Dragon and his son is continuing his legend.
Human: the leader of the Queen’s personal line of the defense is in great emotional and physyical pain or worse and another human organization will have a collaboration with a Sylvari sure that is suspicious no?
Asura: Snaff’s apprentice is in great emotional and physical pain or worse. Have the Asura discuss about Rata Novus

4.Develop the LW characters main and recurring.
Braham following in his mother’s footsteps.
Taimi and Scruffy 2.0 in rata novus, what will they find?
The Shining blade and Countess Anise’s deal with Canach.
Make us feel for Marjory and Kasmeer as a couple, heck there’s a weeding altar in LA
Make Rox a character again
Evon Gnashblade’s plans for the Captain’s Council
The Consortium

5. This one I have no idea cuz MAYBE we’ll go in the future but take us to Cantha/Elona/Crystal desert or hint that we might go there in the next Expansion.

This will come across cynical, but I think they are just using the “quality versus quantity” cliché to justify the new, much slower, approach to content delivery.

Seasons one and two brought us some of the best content Ive ever seen in an MMO – Molten Facility, Aetherblade Retreat, Guild Missions, Fractals, Southsun, Marionette, Tower of Nightmares, the burning and rebuilding of LA, Glint’s Lair, Drytop, Silverwastes, Triple Trouble, Aetherpath, the fight against the nightmare dragon, just to name a few examples.

So, when they claim that the delay is to improve quality, that is the content we need to measure that quality against (and quantity given the time they are taking, imo).

So expectations need to be astronomical in scale at this point, because they have set the bar really high with the quality of their past work.

I expect:

• multiple new maps (at least 2) that rival Silverwastes in terms of fun/replayability/scale,
• story steps at the level of Glint’s Lair, Fort Salma or the final fight against the nightmare,
• world events on the scale of the LA invasion/reacquisition,
• new PVE guild missions (12-24 of them) that make the old ones feel mediocre
• Multiple fractals (4-6 of them) based on obscure historic events with mechanics and foes we haven’t seen before (ala Thaumanova Reactor)
• World bosses (at least 2) that require the coordination of the Marionette or even Triple Trouble

I expect these things because ANET has delivered on these things – and MUCH MORE – using the old living story model. If they are taking this much more time (MONTHS with nothing new to do) to deliver new content, then that content needs to be a level above the amazing content they have delivered in the past (because of their quality takes more time claim).

I love this freaking game. Since day one, I have been what many would call (and many did call) a white knight on the forums – passing out praise and arguing against detractors. I do not like the direction they have chosen to go in 2016. It is destroying the living world and creating a boring stale world with nothing new to do.

This claim that we have to wait 11 months between the expansion and living story because they need to up the quality level (over some of the examples I list above) feels hollow and more like an excuse to reallocate developers toward the same tired business model every other AAA MMO uses. It will cost them players – not all at once, but this game was obviously designed to center around the concept of the living story – and they are leaving it behind.

Sadly Season 1 is un-re playable at the moment, the devs have said the intedn to bring it back on way or another. There is a cool gw2 youtuber that made “Tyrian Characteology” series about almost all the major characters from Season 1, see all of them and you’ll get a pretty good feel of the Season

Lion’s Arch is the historical seat of power for Kryta. It only became independent because it got destroyed by Zhaitan and humans forced to relocate – in said time, pirates rebuilt the place and made a buffer against Zhaitan’s forces. King Baede effectively let them be so that they can deal with the risen threat instead, and the crown prince, Edair, waged war on them when Baede was on his deathbed, but after a massive loss to risen forces during a blockade attempt agreed to give LA its independence officially.

All of this is in the Sea of Sorrows novel – sorry for spoilers! :P

The White Mantle would be interested in taking LA for the same reason they want to take Kryta – they think it is rightfully theirs.

ah thanks for the answer all I can really think is that LA is destined to be unlucky. First Zaithan, then Scarlet, and now MAYBE the white mantle, sure the new LA has defenses but Magnus mentions the Lionguard’s numbers are thin.

As not to go way off topic, I really hope we would see this type of story in LW S3, one can only dream, the white mantle story and LA could be great

Living World Season 3 will start around possibly maybe july given that it was confirmed it would start after the release of the 3rd raid wing in the AMA, it was also confirmed that we wont get bi-weekly releases since Anet wants to deliver quality story, and they want to put “bonus and optional stories as well as epic events as in season 1”.

With the quotations above I guess it is understandable to wait for season 3. HOWEVER, should we let our expectations be our downfall?

Season 1 was over 20 episodes, while season 2 was only 8. Should we expect season 3 to be 5 super high quality episodes?

Should we expect simultaneous arcs with Braham honoring his mother’s funeral accompanied with Rox and Taimi who will bicker lightly on how to help Braham move on while at the same time Kasmeer and Marjory are back into their detective business discussing their future relationship all of them unaware that a 3 headed-hydra is attacking LA and the Consortium using the chaos to lure panicked citizens to their “new and safe resort” asura gate only to get the citizens back to LA with the help of Ellen Kiel and Hero-Tron disguised as exotic dancers, return to LA with all the citizens and have the Hydra coming back as to repeat the cycle?

See expectations are dangerous because I expect all of that happen in an episode that has quality.I guess that we should all have low expectations and wait and see :P

But on a serious notes do people prefer Quality or quantity? Why cant we have both? I know the release date and cancelation of bi weekly releases are due becuase they are simultaneously working on the next expansion, but I am a bit worried how long will the story be and if it will be better than Season 1 and 2

would people accept a high damage dealer Scrapper for raids? I know the engie “role” is condi damage, but as a scrapper I would like to gear up for high damage, but im afraid I wont have a place for raiding :/

I was chatting with a guildmate who was doing HoT story with an alt in order to get the exalted weapon collection set. We both agreed the story was good and we couldn’t wait for Living Story season 3.

While we are both excited for the “confirmed” plotlines I mentioned to my guildy friend that I was excited to see the story for the “other characters” these being Evon Gnashblade, Ellen Kiel, Hero-tron, Magnus, and the Consortium……however, now that I think about it it seems S3 will (as far as we know) focus on rytlock the revenant, zoijja and logan, the egg, taimi’s findings, and canach’s future.

These “Other characters” were not the focus of season 2 and HoT story, and its totally understandable, but I’m a little worried that Anet doesnt really plan on using them. We technically haven’t seen the Consortium do anything significant since “Last Stand at Southsun” a 2013 release

Gotta love the function gyro, however, the only thing that bugs me a little bit is that whenever we command the gyro to rez someone we don’t get any exp, is this a bug?
