i’d think this would be an easy change, no more than 5 minutes of work. any dev want to correct me or give me a reason why they are soulbound?
i wish necros had that risen necromancer ability plague charge. like a 600 range leap that transfers conditions on hit and it looks cool as hell. if only
or turn spectral grasp into spectral charge. 600 range charge that grants life force and chills on hit. mmmm

1v1s are important. for far point assaulting engis and thieves, for home point defending warriors and rangers, being good at 1v1s or 1v2s is pretty key to winning the game if you play these roles.
necro scythes. paving the way for the introduction of the dervish
i don’t think gadgets should be signets. the last thing the game needs are more passives. i am in favor of reworking existing traits so that they benefit gadgets a bit more, particularly traits in the inventions and tools line.
however even if they do buff gadgets, i still can’t see people using them over kits in high level pvp.
yes i have no problem keeping bleed stacks up with shrapnel, shrapnel grenades, sharpshooter, and pistol auto. if you feel more comfortable with higher crit you can just add more rabid gear.

monk, noble, forge, etc. Make these runes account bound. Thoughts?
i hope we get it. for a second i thought we were getting it. you brought my hopes up and then crushed them.
transmute also causes the immune message. if you see an engi, don’t lead off with pin down. they will convert the immob to swiftness.
anyone else hate this temporary content feature as much as i do?
Those condi people are often the ones that kept the husks from facestomping everyone else trying to do the mechanic. Without them, you probably wouldn’t have even gotten to the second head phase.
hybrid builds can melt husks and contribute to the burn phase. my husk build necro has 3000 attack and 1320 condition damage. i’m not stuck spamming scepter attacks for 5 damage only to see none of my conditions tick for any damage because of the cap. full condition builds are just worthless in all aspects of pve which is a real shame because i like condition builds.
FT is more of a power weapon in pve. i hit 10k flame blasts with only 7 stacks of might.
if you run elixir infused bombs, you can’t deal damage. you invested too many trait points into a defensive tree, and a lackluster tree at that. you won’t beat anyone even remotely competent. scrap healing bombs and go for more offense or commit to a full bunker. or go full alchemy instead of inventions. it’s a way better defensive tree.
like most turrets, flame turret is bad. don’t use it. tool kit, flamethrower, rocket boots, elixir s, elixir r are all better choices.
if you’re gonna be running bombs, you should at least get 10 into explosives for the bigger radius. if you don’t, then you won’t receive healing as you’re running because the radius is too small.
if you build for conditions and you want to deal damage, you need incendiary powder. you need it.
with your gear setup, scavenging runes will give you more condition damage than undead and the lifesteal helps a lot with sustain.
if you run speedy kits, you don’t need power shoes. cloaking device isn’t that great. stabilized armor, protective shield, or reinforced shield are better options.

extra blast finisher, block, poison for bosses that heal, more condis for modified ammo, chain blinds, poison dart volley does decent damage
engineers have very little condition cleanse. the cleanse on healing turret is tied to our heal. elixir c isn’t good, and medkit only cures one condition and is generally inferior to healing turret. other than that you’re right engis are pretty kitten strong in pvp. we also have a lot of counters though and that i feel makes us pretty balanced.
i think it’s ok to blame full condi built people. especially when a worm head is at 5% and you can’t help thinking if it might’ve died if 5 people in the group contributed more than double digit dps.
the grenth elite where you permanently chill/poison stuff near you is pretty kitten good for wvwvw. definitely better than elixir x. the norn leopard is probably the best choice for wvwvw if you’re norn. guaranteed escapes every time.
i wouldn’t go full conditions. if you’re determined to have some condition damage, rampager/carrion/celestial might be a better option. as for being kicked from dungeon groups, that just depends on the group. i’ve had 1500 ap warriors criticize my builds and then spend 80% of the run on the floor.
but yeah engis are quite good in pve.
engis are fun. easy to play, pretty hard to master. i usually win 7/10 fights against a hambow warrior in tpvp. permanent poison is lols vs healing signet and their animations are pretty obvious.
mace would be nice.

one of my pve builds involve using tool kit melee just because.
and yes hammers would also be sweet. also scythes for necros for a melee cleaving weapon and it would pave the way for the introduction of the dervish. pleasepleaspleasepleasepleaseplease
i believe it’s a bug. judging by arenanet’s over-eagerness to fix the bugs nobody cares about (mortar) i am sure they will be quick to fix underwater combat bugs. meanwhile game breaking stuff like warrior block bug will remain in the game for a long time sigh.
take those 30 points and buy more utilities. or just save them. or get hounds if you really want a 30 point elite.
you want berserker.
what he said
you do get the benefits of sigils while using kits. they changed that a while ago.
when a turret is destroyed, either by manually detonating it or by taking too many hits, it will damage and knockback. yes it works with supply crate turrets.
seems like you do very little damage. you can support and do damage at the same time.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqalIqSYX3SiF17IxoCdGsgPKebaB is an example
Vee Wee is my hero
Ok sounds good, but I am feeling a little squishy during world events and am going down a lot – any advice?
although it does less damage, 25/10/0/10/25 is the safer build because you get vigor. or you can run 30/30/0/10/0 and take swiftness on crit and vigor on swiftness. you lose permanent swiftness out of combat if you go this route which is why i personally don’t like it. as phineas poe said you can add some defensive utilities for the learning process. an example could be elixir s, tool kit, bomb kit. tool kit block is amazing and complete invulnerability and invis obviously helps with survivability. make sure to learn the animations of the bosses to know when they’re going to do their sweeping one shot attack so you can dodge.
don’t use blood injection. the alchemy tree is one of the best defensive trees in the game. there are waay better traits in there. protection injection, invigorating speed, backpack regenerator, and automated response.
i personally run dire weapons and armor with rabid accessories. the result is about 30% crit chance which is plenty.
edit: for wvwvw
(edited by ellesee.8297)
30/30/0/0/10 or 25/10/0/10/25 full zerk. please don’t go healing bombs for pve. those 300 heals are worthless when things hit you for 10000. and going 30 inventions really gimps your damage. save it for when you go pvp bunker.
don’t take madchat so seriously. laugh at an angry redfaced kid behind a monitor and move on.
your power doesn’t go down. your attack goes down because the kit weapon damage is less than your actual weapon’s damage. also could at least format your misgivings in a non whiny manner? or at least less whiny thanks
i’d play ranger if the sword didn’t root you in place. the sword is so good but god it’s just too annoying to play. but yeah spotter and frost spirit are pretty good buffs to party dps. dumb elitists are just dumb.
What does that mean, no base damage.
I like it when people misread the tooltip startup as overall attack speed even though it’s super obvious just by looking at it that the bomb doesn’t hit twice a second. I wonder what those people think about skills like warrior axe auto that don’t even have startups listed. Do they just assume they’re instant?
What I meant was that some grenades and bombs just apply conditions and thus not profit from power. Or am I overlooking something?
shrapnel and freeze grenade both do high damage physical damage. flash grenade blinds which is very useful. poison grenade reduces healing on bosses that heal or have regen. fire bomb and smoke bomb stack vulnerability per pulse. glue bomb can stack vulnerability if you trait for sitting duck and it’s great for kiting. concussion bomb is the weakest out of the bomb skills for a power build but it gives you a 2% damage boost for 5 seconds because of modified ammunition. modified ammunition gives you an extra 2% damage per condition so having all these conditions on our attacks is actually a bonus.
could probably run hgh pistols. something like this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqalspSXnvShF87ICoH5FfNiie8YU2k9pwaB-jwBBYfBkWAkyAIzsIasVhFRjVXDT5iIqGA-e
looks like an elixir.
the graboids
disagree. madchat is the best part of pvp. how can you not find it hilarious?
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIqyX3zSiF17IyoCdmoH5n+ZZfeIXsFEC-ToAAzCpI0SplTLjWStsaNEZuA
here’s a tankier version of the standard condi build. i suppose the simplest way to play would be to start in bomb/grenade > use 1-5 > swap to your other kit > use 1-5 > swap to pistol > 1-5 > repeat and hope you kill the bad guys before they kill you.
yea many people do forget its sync with the inventions healing skill refresh trait the fact you can use this for the single largest heal in the game then use it a second time within no time at all gives you the most powerful burst heal of any profession as it does heal you for an extra 28k health that can happen in the space of 5 seconds even
1. requires you to go into inventions, the worst tree. the 15 point inventions trait isn’t even that good. and it’s only once every 90 seconds. if i was crazy enough to use AED, i still wouldn’t go into that lackluster tree for that lackluster trait.
2. also requires you to go deep into tools and give up something amazing like power wrench for gadget cooldown reduction.
3. getting rid of your best source of condition removal on a class that has limited condition removal already.
yeah it’s bad.
i wouldn’t go full conditions. rampager with maybe a few pieces of celestial if you need some defensive stats.
hair trigger or fireforged trigger. some people take sitting duck for glue bomb but meh i don’t like it.
(edited by ellesee.8297)
it’s not about the lack of toughness when it comes to thieves. if you’re running hgh condi, you’re running rabid amulet so you have plenty of toughness. it’s about 3 of the most popular thief builds (s/p sleight of hand, d/p sleight of hand, and s/d) having boonsteal. meanwhile your only defense is elixir s. it just doesn’t have enough survivability for tpvp in general, not just thieves. you don’t have any vigor because you have to take fast acting elixirs and you can’t take sigil of energy because you need battle to stack might. you don’t have permanent swiftness unless you give up sharpshooter and your pistol cooldowns. idk. in my opinion, the days of hgh are over for tpvp at least. for pve or wvwvw go wild. it works fine.
i’m not sure if these traits are poorly designed. some of them might affect abilities that are poorly designed while others are just ignored in favor of other, better traits. automated response is poorly designed though. anet should redesign all these condition immunity traits and abilities.
I’m pretty easy, i’d simply like to be able to swap into a kit (i.e Elixir Gun or FT) using the weapon swap button.
they should designate the third utility with that function. put any kit as your 3rd utility and be able to swap to it using your weapon swap hotkey.
i’d complain if we didn’t have one of the greatest healing skills in the game with healing turret and if sp scrolls weren’t so easy to get. i’ve got like 400 in the bank.
i got dungeon master over a year ago. reached fractal 50 twice. i don’t really pve anymore unless i need money. it’s just really boring now running the same content that i’ve beaten over and over and over and over. not all pvp balance fixes made it into wvwvw and there’s food buffs so i don’t do that much. so i just solo/team queue but nothing i did in pve made it over to the pvp side like my quip
. meh
ps can’t do the living story because the overflow always separates me and my guild. and when i do make it in, the event bugs or i lag out continuously until the of is full when i log back in. sigh ):
healing power is not good in pve. and especially not good if you run elixirs. there’s no constant source of healing.
