Everybody’s doing The Living Gold Far…uh I mean “Story”.
Even though the suggestions board is pretty much a trash heap, I made a thread there anyway.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/WvWvW-Map-August-20th-Color-Change/first#post2681511
Please give us an option to switch colors back to the “old ones” because while it’s nice to help out the color blind players, causing eye strain to others isn’t acceptable either. Personally, I think the colors are far too bright and saturated and they make for very uncomfortable viewing.
I’ll tell you what, with the way Anet is handling this game, it’s making me take sub games into serious consideration because at least they know when they kitten up they lose sure money. They can’t afford to market the game as one thing then decide after launch they don’t know what kind of the game they want it to be.
Flame Ram Mastery:
Flame rams placed by you now can hit walls.
Increased aoe radius on second skill to 5000 range.
New skill: protecting bubble for 5 minutes, what will reflect projectiles.
Increased radius on first skill to 2000 range.
5 flame rams placed next to each other become a golem.
I seriously lol’d!
I think the vast majority of players seem to like the new colors. This couple pages of QQ seems pretty atypical compared to opinions I’ve seen in the game.
Also, the change was for colorblind players. Yeah, an option would have been better, but seriously….is our community really that selfish? I’d rather have a color that doesn’t look “as good” to me, but allows colorblind players a better (playable) experience.
Some people are complaining because the colors hurt their eyes, personally I could give a kitten if something is ugly, the game is jam packed with that already but I’d prefer to avoid eye strain. I think it’s selfish not to consider this. It’s infuriating that they change the colors so drastically and didn’t even provide a choice. They need to do something about that now.
I was waiting to see this thread. Conditions are a bit out of control at the moment. At a point where my necro was too low to even have an elite skill, I was taking actual level 80s down to almost dying before I’d get CC’d and bursted to bits because my utilities were on cd lol. I know it wasn’t going to win but I was just surprised it got that far being 20 something and wearing greens(she’s now lvl 45).
Would be great if we were given a choice in color setting. Give us a checkbox or something that will switch colors when the client is restarted or whatever. Helping out color blind people is nice but don’t kitten other people eyes in the process. Give me a choice.
I don’t know why people think WvWvW players don’t spend money in the gem shop by virtue of them being WvWvW players. I guess they have some kind of skewed image of WvWvW players as the “dual me brah” PvP only kittenbags.
I think the unaddressed fundamental flaws in WvWvW have turned even some dedicated players off and even some of those who stay will probably be less inclined to spend money. Not because there isn’t anything they can use in the gem shop(I see quite a few people with Quaggan pets, armor skins, finishers etc) but because of a growing resentment for Anet.
/bump
I’m really hoping this situation doesn’t turn into a 20 page thread that gets locked and deleted after we’re advised to post in a new thread about the “perceived” shortcomings of the WvWvW grouping system.
Welcome to the club. Prepare to have this topic merged though, it’s like they want us to zerg even on the forums.
/mybumpfortonight
In all seriousness, better grouping options please. Five man teams or large vague blobs aren’t cutting it.
There are a lot of hacks out there (why GW2 doesn’t have a “hack/exploit” option in it’s report player menu from release, I will never know). I’m not holding out much hope, especially with how heavy things are client side..
NO NO and NO!
High Rank != Good Leader. We need better grouping options but tags based on rank is not a good idea. An experienced and good leader on a new character will have problems pulling support while some kittenhead who just ran around for a few weeks gets to pass themselves off as something they’re probably not. No thanks.
The personal story was O.K the first time around but the quality deteriorated as it progressed. There were a few gems but they evaporated into the seemingly rushed plot and annoying characters.
I never once felt Zaitan had any real power or even a personality. It was Jormag then “Oh yeah, there’s this other dragon being a total kitten, lets do something about that”. As much as I enjoy zombie themed stories, this whole setup just ended up boring me.
I think people want to do the activities they enjoy and have that build up a comfortable stash of gold so they don’t have money worries in a freaking game(and so many things in GW2 hang on gold, so big surprise Anet decided get into gold selling). The channels for making money are extremely narrow here and with the history of GW2 it’s not surprising players try to milk that farm spot before it takes a nerf bat to the knee.
The bitterness that some aspects of WvWvW breed does make its way to the boards and most of the complaints I’ve seen are pretty legit. I see people cracking jokes and being bit sarcastic, others are genuinely asking questions and voicing concerns. But unless those posts were deleted, I’m not seeing where this rampant disrespect is happening after the dev post in the “Anet doesn’t care about WvWvW” thread.
Learn to make hard choices….wxp should NOT be account bound and should NOT have a respec.
Calm down with that kitten, it’s a game. Some people don’t have mains and enjoy playing multiple characters and the truth is, not having some of the rank skills makes a character less effective in some WvWvW activities.
Sooo…
/Bumpb4sleep >.>
I’ve noticed the decrease is bags as well. Usually after defending and pushing a force out, there would be a pool of bags around an AC but no more. Slamming into zergs used to yield a happy trail of bags, not anymore. Booo Anet.
WvW community has been downed were just waiting for the impending “stealth stomp” so to speak.
This made me chuckle.
I’m amazed at how quickly you all jump into defensive mode when confronted with your blatant use of exploits. It takes real server unity to defend exploiters like this, without a single ethical individual from your server to stand against it. By the way, I’m not “overly worked up”, I’m too busy laughing at your server’s overly defensive nature when it comes to exploiting. Guilty conscience anyone?
So carry on forum warriors, perhaps there’s some forum exploit you can bring to bear against such a formidable opponent as I.
We exploited. Cry about it
hahahhaa
You are a bad bad person and your mother should be embarrassed. I am sure she taught you right from wrong when you were little. Right is right and wrong is wrong whether it be in real life, or in online games.
I really, really hope you are trolling. If not, maybe mario kart is more for you.
Why would you think I am a troll? I don’t have green fuzzy hair, a big nose. or bugged out eyes, nor is my skin green. SBI is an honorable server, with honorable people.
Ok now you’re trolling for sure.
The Thief can group or solo but the cheesy design of the class attracts and encourages trolls.
The radius on the pull is more than enough to drag you even if you’re on the back edge of the wall. You won’t go over the ledge in that case but you’ll be AoE fodder though :P
Culling is more something of category “bugfix”, no new content.
So unless something is actual content it does not require dev-time?
I really don’t think that’s the point. The bone of contention is that the dev time is going towards fixing bugs and issues in WvWvW(which they should, don’t expect a cookie for that) and not developing new content, while PvE gets a heaping helping of both.
I don’t mind the rank skills, since I’m doing pretty much the same things on different characters in WvWvW anyway(aren’t we all) so it’s not a grind for me, it’s just kind of a bummer to remember that I no longer have some of those skills.
I’d rather they stabalize WvWvW as it has some core design issues.
I want selectable color and/or a different icon depending of commander WvW rank. At the moment there are no way to know if someone with a “blue icon in the head” is a “pro” or a “newbie”, excluding when you know that commander, and played in the past.
Also, why the commander can use the pin everywhere? even in sPvP! lol Make a different color/icon for commanders that are pro in PvE, like Dungeon Masters, or people with completed map, or good rank on WvW.
No thanks, I don’t care if the PvE commander tags are the same, just give us better grouping options which include private grouping options. Tag colors based on rank is also a no. Why?
1. Being high rank in WvWvW doesn’t mean you’re a leader, doesn’t mean you’re a strategist, it just means you play WvWvW.
2. People will end up not following an awesome commander just because the commander is on an alt.
3. It’s takes probably five minutes to tell if a commander is new or just plain bad.
4. It promotes more elitist kitten
So nope.
Do you go out of your way to punish bad players in WvW?
When you see these things do you tend to focus the player to make them learn?:
1. Full Signet Thief/Warrior
2. Lich Form On Necro
3. Uplevled Ranger/Engi
4. Stumbling across a roamer doing PvE
5. Scepter Wielding Guardian
6. Level 30 or below food (I.E. Increase burning duration 5% food) Oils 3/1% Boost.
I tend to focus a few of these types of players, but normally running with commander and sticking close to group so I cant even though I want to kill all of the above.
Many of these points don’t make a player “bad”, it makes you sound like a kittenhole though.
And this exposes the bad design at the core of WvWvW…
Pit one group against each other and it creates “group pride”, that’s just how most humans work. Not to mention we often prefer the path of least resistance. Anet decided Server vs Server was sensible, a three way fight no less. Server mergers would destroy the very premise the mode is founded on. Creating a “recruitment” sub-forum to save face doesn’t stop the game mode from being poorly planned. When a lot of people hop onto the low pop servers the problem will just repeat itself.
The server with the least people on the maps around the clock gets the least points, thats it. And it makes WvWvW a demoralizing nightmare for a server getting permarolled. A lot of players will stop participating and I can’t blame them. It should be about fun, not being a patriot to something as silly as a video game.
Grinding in many other games takes less participation because the numbers on your armor and weapon do most of the work for you. In GW2 you have pay attention and that means noticing the kitteny rewards too and I don’t think Anet bargained for that side effect of their shiny new combat system lol.
Dropping random AoE and swiping the air in hopes of hitting something that could be several yards away in a 360 direction doesn’t count as skilled play.
some players would have you think that everybody is stupid but them.
LOL Oh kitten.
No. invisibility != invulnerability though I can now how you’d think that by re-reading my post. My point is, being unseen in intrinsically advantageous(it’s almost like the Devs don’t know how human beings work), then add the extreme burst damage and the initiative system to that and there will be problems.
- Stealth and I mean GW2 stealth is problematic, sorry but being able to move around totally unseen often and even during combat is crazy game design. Other classes can pop invulnerable for a couple seconds ever so often but their opponent still sees where they are and can make an informed decision. Dropping random AoE and swiping the air in hopes of hitting something that could be several yards away in a 360 direction doesn’t count as skilled play.
- The initiative system is a bad joke and it’s compounded by terrible stealth design.
-Put those together with the extreme burst that thieves can crank out(and often) and this is why you have these threads pop up continuously but some players would have you think that everybody is stupid but them.
Just too funny. That really should not work! lol
So 8 ZERG players tactically kite your 20man grp slowly picking people off and all you can think of is “stop running”. You should be thinking of how bad you guys really are for taking tht long to kill 8 ppl. Stacking up and afraid to push 8? now thts sad. Your guild tag fits you well sir.

No and stop projecting your kitten into what is a simple clear cut statement. Thank you.
You could always move to a less stacked server. More people equals more lag. I never have lag on the server we’re on unless RNG decides to pit us against one of the omega zergs with 100 people running around on all maps 24/7. I for one hope they don’t do anything about the lag when there’s a ridiculous amount of people on the map. That will just encourage further bandwagon server stacking and zerging. Maybe people will take a hint and filter down into some of the lesser populated servers.
No. Anet needs to get their kitten together instead of people having to leave their communities behind.
Enough talk! Let us settle our matters on the Bollaball Court!

LOL that’s hilarious. Looks fun
I think people who complain about blobbing fall into three categories:
1. They can’t stand when the game’s performance drops to horrific levels.
2. They crave open world hand to hand combat badly and WvWvW is the closest GW2 will come to it but the ‘zerg’ crushes their hopes of small skirmishes or even straight up ganking. There’s a subset of this group that complains about people using siege.
3. They want to upgrade structures, prep siege, capture objectives etc and are tired of their work effortlessly steamrolled by a group that outnumbers them 3 to 1.
Awesome.
Thanks for all the info—I did not realize that the colors rotated every week. That makes me feel much better.
You might get another color.
Toughness is kind of a joke because in GW2 damage is king. You’re better off being a big fat sack of hit points than stacking toughness.
There’s no option in the report dropdown menu for anything relating to hacking or exploiting (why? I do not know). That and a 100 character limit textbox would be great.
LOL yeah that’ll do it.
They dont care. It’s clear they have no interest in WvW. I have no idea why they added it in the first place when its constantly being ignored everywhere else gets new content except WvW…
Noooo. This is so not true. ANET has plans to keep increasing siege and to remove the PvP aspect. Wrecking WvW is the only way they can actually get people to play s/tPvP
Oh kitten get over it, scoring points is based on capturing and holding structures, ‘hand to hand’ fights (since that seems to be your narrow idea of player vs player) are just an organic result of that.
Put in the back piece Anet.
Why can’t they just do something correctly all the way ever? …r.
Because they have a enough people on their forums apologizing for them.
I don’t even understand the point of this thread. Anet isn’t doing anyone any favors, they’re operating a business. The lack of a subscription isn’t out of the kindness of their hearts, they “continue to do what they do” because it makes them money so cut the kitten already. The happy people are playing the game, what did you really expect to find on these forums? To put it bluntly, you’re whining about people whining.
You’re confusing people with a company. A company isn’t a sentient being….but people are. People work kitten content, and many of them are artists. I’ve written and sold things before. Just because I’ve sold something, does that mean I have no feelings about it? Does that mean that I don’t hurt if I get a negative review?
It’s easy to see a company as an inanimate object, but people who makes games like Guild Wars 2, they’re coders and artists and writers. Many of them put their heart and soul into creating the game we play.
Anet is in business to make money, but the company is comprised of hard-working individuals, some of whom we know for a fact go above and beyond the call of duty (such as Kristen Perry redesigning the Sylvari on her own time).
Nice little condescending story, complete with assumptions about me having little to no clue about being creative and putting one’s work out there for the world to judge. Negative feedback is just something you have to suck up and deal with (but I digress because this is about Anet as a unit and not their employees personal feelings and emotions).
People who paid for the game, invested time and probably even more money via the gem shop voice their gripes when they feel Anet has kittened up and so what? They can, and quite frankly I think they should(some probably don’t express it nicely) And as I said, the happy people are playing the game and spending money and getting their friends and family to play, that is their thanks. Once again, what did the OP expect to find here?

It is a little surprising how terrible the NA trailer was, not just in comparison with the Chinese one but just on its own lol.
I have no doubt many will like it but I cringe a little inside when I think that there will be more people who’ll end up feeling really disappointed and even a little misled.
The game is solo friendly. But the maps can get pretty tiring after your 2nd character which is why some people just spend the gold and craft to get levels.
This has to be one of my least fav match ups. Too much PvDooring from all directions. There’s that small window of epic fights late at night(west coast) when SoS is starting to wake up and slowly but surely our people stop caring because they need to sleep and everything starts turning blue. I suspect it’s the same with Ebay since their stuff starts flipping even before ours.
