FT #3 is both a push and a short reflect making it a very strong skill, specially VS bosses on PvE and as a CC option on PvP.
What would be nice to see if #5 being turned into a smoke field and adding Damage Over Time to #4 besides the burning. also, if possible make #2 a blast finisher.
Anet has NO love for the Engineer!
They have been nerfed to the weakest class by far!
I stopped individual PvP and only play WvW.
The only thing going for this class is their AOE ability for loot bags. (If you survive!)Ranger
Depends on the setting. on PvP rangers are currently one of the strongest class. traps are can’t be dodged/blocked. Ability to lock pet onto you and have them follow you around the map dealing more damage than the ranger itself. 2kd, stun, evades, fear and extreme survival. Also pet heal with mercy runes and sometimes glitches to ress even after it dies making the ranger unkillable unless it’s stomped.
the weakest PvP class is currently Warrior. and i’m referring for PvP mostly because it’s possibly the main reason for the upcoming Engineer Nerf.
- Might duration no longer stacks with multiple runes.
- Static Discharge: 2s Internal cool down.
- 409: 10s internal cool down.
- Shrapnel Grande: Reduce Bleed duration 4-6s.
Bug Fixes:
- Fix “miss” from blow torch/FT (Again)
- Flame Turret now works properly with Deployable Turrets.
Heard that they are not working on Gadgets. Turrets just received a “MASSIVE” buff and FT/EG have been nerfed too much so they will most likely be left alone. leaving very little room for “buffs”. Any buff’s will be completely unpredictable &unexpected at this point.

Shatters builds aren’t the one you’re suppose to be scared about.. Phantom Mesmer are..
I’ll try to get it on video because i sware i get hit by confusion 5-10 per dodge rolls, after i get hit i will drop in a matter of seconds and chat log will say 12k confusion dmg from 16hits and such. its just weird xP

smh.. again learn to read and do research before you speak, Supply has a 240 radious. and if a 2s stun on a 180 CD is game breaking for you.. then maybe PvP is not the thing for you, specially since you’re a mesmer, normally you run with 2 stun breakers dont ya

might stacking makes the condition stronger but the build would still wok without it. the problem with people QQ and crying about build ( jport) is that they refuse to adjust build to the meta. and instead come o the forum and cry nerf so they can continue the same glass cannon shatter build.
and supply doesn’t go unnoticed vs 1 player, but on a zergs that’s all it is. a 2 second stun as our elite on a 180CD which can be blocked, dodged etc, and on tPvP that means nothing cause everyone has stun breakers. Supply is a killer only when you use the stun at the right time.
the real question is, if it work. would people really use it ? I think that’s why is not on anet’s priority list.

- Does confusion triggers for every trait that affect an action, heal on dodge ?
- Does it trigger multiple times while channeling skills ? ei: stomps?
- Does it trigger when you press movement skills ? ( I know it doesn’t but.. i find myself taking confusion damage while simply running )
also, please add anything that triggers that i might be missing thank you.

Engineer is the only profession without Signets – it’s kind of a flavor thing. Speedy kits is a unique Engineer playstyle, and I like it. Our utility slots are too important as is to dedicate one to movement speed. Personally, I’m good with not having to take a utility, haha.
that is true but we have gadget’s. wouldn’t it make sense to add a passive moment increase to lets say slick shoes and an activation skill for some effect.
Utility googles: increase precision.
and such, i would rather gadgets to mimic signets and have some sort of use.
I PvP to kill people and then dance over their dead bodies.. #ThugLife
people would simply choose to kill instead of finishing, specially since every class has a mechatic in order to prevent the stomp.. imagine knowing that you have to try to finishing someone at least twice.. and that’s if there aren’t any team mates around..

Even tho the engineer wasn’t very smart, after the accidental creation of elixirs, the engineer became confident that he had some sort of talent, so he quit his job, and put his toolkit to work on something else than sinks, creating variety of gadgets & turrets, which even after 9 months, they continue to be work in progress..

The ignorance of some people… -_-
- Mesmer could have up 5 Condi removal if they went 30 points into a defensive trait, like HGH or Ele does… and that’s not including wep skills or utility skills, if you spec for it, Mesmer could have up to 10 condition removals :P
- Condi builds are always more durable than glass cannons! ( GC: Kill fast, break easy…) and even so, GC mesmer have more survival than any other gc class.
- Null field, Phantasmal Disenchanter, Arcane Thievery.. steals boons, rids of conditions… that sounds strong VS a class based around boons and conditions wouldn’t you say :]
bottom line, all this arguing is out of ignorance, trying to compared a class that builds around survival vs class who doesnt, and expect them to have the same survival :P
Also, it’s kinda sad because you don’t seem to have much knowledge about your class outside your shatter build, maybe mesmers need a nerf so they are forced like engineers to look for new builds after every patch ;p

Have a core trait from Mesmer ever been destroyed? or a build deleted from the game ? how about skills ? Mantras are the worst utilities Mesmer have and are wayyyy better than engineers gadgets and turrets (lots of bad skills). worst bug mesmer class have prob had is the iserker.. and it still on it’s handicapped condition it still does decent damage on PvP, maybe Anet nerf broke it on purpose because it used to be strong.
Exactly, conditions are your weakness, and engi are about condition.. i wonder what would happen if they fight ?.. meta is shirting towards conditions or am i the only seeing lots of Engi, Rangers and Necro lately.
If Big ol bomb damages anything, you get revealed.. =] trying something before bringing it up wouldn’t hurt..
not really, what happens if you have revealed and try to stealth, exactly… the debuff could be something like that limited to clones, you could still summon phantasms tho. that would be fair.
Also.. Evasive Arcana’s Cleansing Wave heals for around (1.5-2k) and Churning Earth applies 1 bleed not 8.

Get on the class and learn it yourself, once you understand how the build works you won’t be so ignorant about the build and class in general…
and the only thing you gotta be afraid of is.. that you’re gonna fall in love the the class since it’s actually fun and not as brain dead as playing guardian, thief or mesmer on PvP. where the build you play actually matter a lot more than the skill of the player.

lol i guess you like me but on a serious note, as someone who plays both mesmer and engineer i could tell you, mesmer is alot more faceroll in PvP and have been for a while and i’m sure many people would agree.
but you particularly seem to be having the most trouble dealing with Engi so let me give you a tip, try a curtain mesmer see how i goes.. a little spoiler: Good

Yea, a clarification would be nice. cause i really like the idea and from a personal point of view, if I’m able to participate i would have no problem contributing the the prices to make it an even better incentive for engineers to participate. but if not, i guess too bad, could be missing out on remarkable engineers outside of AR.
is Heart seeker’s leap, a Dmg then leap? or leap then damage ? for what i understand about the stealth mechanics is that if you do damage, you get revealed.. so it’s a bug. but for the reply in general I can tell you’re not familiar with thief. but that’s okay
I’m sure you understand why they added the GCD on shatters so I’m not even going to go there, but 1-3s cool down is basically to balance the over all combat, thief. they have easy access to the powerful stealth mechanics, and they also have great damage but when they attack, they become vulnerable, giving the other person a chance to fight back, not to mention in most situations they are on melee range.
on the other hand, mesmer have clones. and besides some of them having extraordinary damage. they also mess up the enemy’s targeting, 1 stealth will throw off your enemy for a period of time on which the Mesmer can deal 100% of its damage, at RANGE. and even on popular sword burst, where the Mesmer goes on melee range, it becomes invulnerable making the burst unstoppable unless the opponent has an instant condi remover and 2 dodges to evade the 2 waves of shatters. giving little to no chance to fight back. and even if the person survives, in little to no time the Mesmer will already have their illusions back up, leaving the person on same position, trying to find the real Mesmer while taking damge. this mechanic lacks a weakness, the equivalent of revealed in order to balance the combat. and this is specially strong vs New/Average/Casual players, they don’t have an opportunity to fight back, which is the reason Anet nerfed 100Nades.
Also, Every class is not suppose to do the same thing. that’s why some GM traits on some class are Adapt traits on another, guardian need the healing cause they are meant to go in battle and stay there, that being, said i dont think clones on dodge should be nerfed because you’re giving up evades for damage, i think is balanced. even tho it would be completely fine with a 9 icd since it’s on pair with some GM traits like “Evasive Arcana” since it provides both offensive and defensive capabilities at the same time.
If even even death, can’t stop the pet from ressing this makes this down skills much stronger than lets say a guardian’s, who are meant to stay in battles while rangers are usually main mid-long range fighters
I guess i’m wrong and ele can’t heal :P oops!
And please.. get on an engi and play the class, look at the skills, cool downs and radius before preaching nonsense about throwing elixirs lol.. oh.. and about elites.
Elite skills are especially powerful skills designed to be used infrequently and have a dramatic effect on the tide of a battle.
from the wiki, so nothing wrong with having a decently balance elite.. which btw, doest make much of a difference on PvE or WvW, specially when compared TW.. soo yea

Lots of control over you’re enemy… after you bounce them around for a while and kill them, some will tell you, how and when you’re going to die and describe it with epic detail follow by an ignore and screenshot to anet!

- Nerf HGH
- Nerf Mug & fix Blinding Powder + Heartseeker BUG so the mechanic works as intended.
- Add a 1-3s cool down on which a mesmer can’t create illusions after using shatters.
- Reduce base healing from ele’s spells/traits, and increase % with healing power.
- Make Ranger’s Pets stop ressing if they are CC far away or DIE…
Pretty sure all the others are more important than HGH, but if people are gonna cry cause engineer learnt to fight back and not be food anymore. might as well balance the game properly over all.

There has been a thread in the engineer forum about the weakspots of th HGH build, and guess what? There are plenty things we engis don’t have when rolling an HgH build (auch as zero stability options. ZERO.). but because no one plays our class you don’t know what we do or how to get us,-> go to the engineers forum and ask!
Plus have you ever seen #1 pistol damage? Even with 25 might it crits for 500 MAX.You come at me with some real arguments, and some real engineer knowledge before you start complaining.
Well that’s fine about pistol AA because one its a condition damage attack not really meant to do that much direct damage… And have you seen how much damage ohhh I don’t know Mesmer staff one does? Pretty sad as well even when fully zerked out… Oh and you also have poison darts/static shot/flame blast and if the flame blast hits in this build that is 4k damage from burning before even considering the might stacks.

Scope is broken, and grandes are powerful, but… i wouldn’t recomnd a build fully based around grenades, your wrist will thank you! :] and it is really not worth it unless you don’t plan on doing anything with your hands for the rest of your life!

that’s one of the problems, pre-launch personally i believed engineers were intended to play with turrets and gadgets, i never expected them to end up being magicians! tossing around magical potions and shooting balls of glue from my pistols
we really don’t know what we’re suppose to do, but they’ve made it clear what we’re NOT suppose to do, which is kill fast or support..
I don’t know about you guys, but i would much rather if Med kit got ignored.. currently is awesome and it works perfectly.. a little attention and it might not anymore.
Keep in mind that people who don’t play engi, don’t know how good this healing skills is, if they find out! its a bye bye

I got a cool nerf for you that completely seems possible; here is it
- Elixir guns’s Elixir skills will now be affected by Elixir traits.
- Acidic Elixirs damage increase by 50%
“Due to the buff to elixir gun, we felt that some traits would be too strong and needed to be balance in order to work as intended and provide more utility” - Cleaning Formula 409: added 10s cd
- HGH: recuded might duration to 5s

Robert Hrouda actually mains Ranger, and didn’t put him on the spot to trash the guy, i actually respect him since he’s one of the most active developers with the community! and that is great, I’m showing this because what he said is probably what everyone talks about believes at Anet
If the developers themselves, don’t play the class, not even they will know how easy it is to counter this build. kill them a few times and they will label OP and nerf the skills. and even if they get on an engi to try the build themselves, its most they did a quick test against a static dummie and decided it needed to be nerfed.
playing the class for 5 minutes, would prevent so many bugs such as “Deployable Turrets”

Perhaps it’s more a rune problem and not HGH as a trait…
they can always make runes of the same effect not stack, of course i dont think anyone would like this (which might mean its the right move?)
the question is, if they nerf might duration stacking on runes, will they nerf other boons as well ? Condition duration stacking too ? Now, that would kitten a lot of people off

Normally i would agree, but i’ve been trolling with the D/P build. burst last 1/2s and you get a Heart-Seeker, Back stab and steal within 1/2 second which is enough to drop any light/med armor, and if they survive they can heart-seek/backstab every 4s with literally no down time.
And 100nades was lethal not because of the build but because of the player, if the build was as strong as an easy to play as people claim, why weren’t there hundreds of people running it on PvP? in the hands of a good players. anything can be lethal

Pretty much, not many people think highly of engineers so they don’t bother to get to know the class or how to counter, and if an engineer kills them is because they must have been hacking or abusing exploits.
I think it’s hugely important, alot of hands would appreciate it my friend!

Random question: Does pet keep ressing even after you kill it ?
had a ranger and its pet under 20+ stacks of Bleed hitting 147 per tick, and pet ressed like I wasn’t there :[ and im pretty sure the pet was at 0hp

but anyways, someone was trying to compare Mesmer 3 might per shatter which got nerfed to HGH build and i was explaining that Mesmer, they were able to reach 18-24 might like you said.. without having to sacrifice utility slots/runes/sigil or have to invest points on boon duration so you could either go for straight damage or condition damage.
to get HGH to work you need to sacrifice your utility slots/runes/sigil/ so is not like the might is free lol
until last patch you needed a stun breaker and condi removal to counter basilisk venom. also, blocks dont undo stealth, but they did block 100nades and the burst could be reflected back to the user.
1 evade was able to counter 100nades, and then you couldn’t use it again for another 26-30s
thief can blinding powder > heart seek > backstab every 4s lol
