The healing reduction won’t be too drastic i think.. -800 maybe, but for what i understand the overcharged will drop a water field (grants regeneration with projectiles and heals with leap/blast), if it is the case and the water field last a few seconds. it could be a positive improvement.

I just came back to clarify a few things. i would much rather see his a constructive discussion than a troll tread to lets start.

  • Up to my last message I had no idea you were suggesting a different effect. it was not implied anywhere on the main post, and when i saw the 30 30 30, I thought you meant to bring it back to 30%+ on burst skills. it was a misunderstanding.
  • While thinking that you were asking for the 30%dmg back (which you’re not), i was trying to point out that if they did bring it back, they would have to take out that 30% out the skill’s damage in order to prevent the 1 shot eviscerate, forcing players deep into that trait to get the same effect as now. or to conform with a weaken version of these skills, and as lots of warriors would agree, the burst mechanic is weak as it is. but that’s irrelevant now..
  • And I’m sorry about @nakoda… he’s the type of person who will argue to death sky is pink just to get some attention… unless i missed a post where he actually said something related to the post.
  • Moving on onto a constructive conversation. @Jzaku.9765, what would be your opinion if brawn increased adrenaline gain by 1%(30% max) ? it would syg well with traits that benefit from high adrenaline(specially the new one) as well as it would balance that feeling than you’re losing so much every time the burst skill is used.

not sure where the troll bait came from, but i guess it worked.. i caught the biggest N troll. now I just lock it up or toss it in a hole with a Big ol’ Bomb just to be sure it never bothers anyone again. (sadly that’s only wishful thinking since the thirst for attention can overcome anything…)

Actually i was referring to the Shrapnel Grenade, I’ve noticed its one of the most deadlier one and if you land a couple normally is gg for the other person. Freeze Grenade is strong as well, it sets up for more once the Engi decides to make it rain. and about fixing it idk, but if Anet decide to make a change, the most logical decision would seem to split the skill between PvP and PvE. but who knows, it up to them how to deal with it but it prob won’t be nerfed for a couple of months. and hopefully by that time we a lot more going on.

and you’re right about the memer thing, i just threw a couple of traits together and made a build which turned out pretty decent but never really went through anything really, 3 vul if you rupt and 5 if you daze. pretty decent for pvp and easy to root with ileap

They could have made RTL distance shorter if crippled and chilled. 40 second cool down when not hitting a target is such poor design I don’t even know where to start.

The opposite. Ele’s have traits dedicated to deal with movement conditions (33% reduction of cripple, chill, im) as well as remove chill on dodge, not to mention the extensive amount of condition removals. a change like this would have had gone unnoticed, making it pointless.

I’ve been fighting S/F Ele.. you seem him constantly taking on 2v1 3v1 and killing people. this makes you think.. maybe ele’s had way better builds all along, but they never bother to look for them.. the idea that 1 class revolves around 1 skill is poor design, and all those people making petitions to boycot or delete the class prove it

LOL i hate those, specially with the D/P build where most times they won’t even unstealth, and i’m not that glassy xP.

@Mif.3471 They were talking about an specific PvP Map where Engineers arcing throw to reach the enemy’s treb while standing from the wall, they fail to mention to that, it takes 5s for enemies to reach you.. and if it is a thief, most of the time is GG

1 thing that’s keeping me positive about this patch, is seeing all these engineers whining and how ridiculous they look. oh wait… it’s the ele’s! LOL… hopefully that is not how our community sounds like every month!!

Petition to boycot Anet because using RoTL as it is intended is class breaking! and if they do that, the eles should be deleted from the game LOL

what’s sad is that Ele’s will most likely get their way like thief did, and get RoTL 2,000 5s cd after Anets gets tired of their whining, but we’ll never ever see KT again :[ R.I.P

Altho i agree with some points, i personally believe the reason grande kit is currently strong is because of the long duration of the conditions, specially bleeds which also happen to have a short cool-down. if they get tone down. It would balance the kit out. without so much condition pressure, mostly stupid people would die to granades.

also, about that vulnerability.. I’ve been playing Mesmer on tPvP, (the place where they base balance), with their staff #5 _"Chaos Storm", i will often stack 25 stacks vulnerability on its own. so is not like the engineers are the only one able to do it. and unlike engineer mesmer also happen to have some strong hitting skills. the #3 Warlock normally deals around 6k + 10% for every unique condition. I’ve been able to deal12k crits.

Something i heard on some other thread but is 100% true. if a person lets himself be slapped with 25 vul and 25 bleeds from range, he deserves to die.

the only possible nerf, which would be kinda fair is if they reduced the bleeding duration.

and it doesn’t cost money to make a thread, you should start it :]

yea, it’s a tricky mechanic but also a double edge sword, if you had managed to dodge out his range, and he used vengeance. you could have literally run around while calling him a noob and making fun of him until he dies on his own.

There are even worst down mechanics like ranger’s where the pet can outheal 20+ ticks of bleeds ( 147 per tick ) or revive the ranger while he’s under strong AoE like it was nothing, and sometimes the pet does not even stop ressing even after it dies. it can’t be cc off because it’ll be back within 2s

something funny is that after 1 week or 2 ele’s will get tired of whining about the end of the world, and with the help of an engineer, they will come up with an even better build that they had all along, but never noticed cause they assumed there was only star on the sky..

and i say engineers because that’s our every patch, get horribly nerfed all across, tweak build or find new ones and look at where we are right now, having every crying we’re OP LOL without the need of a nerf or patch..

Most kits are fine :p personally i think they should be ignored for a couple more months before start “experimentation” which will translate to lots of regret, QQ and lots of broken keyboard.

Think about it: 4 seconds of Burning every 10 seconds. Flame Jet burns for 1 second at the end of every 2.25 second channel.

Together, that’s 8 seconds of Burning every 10 seconds. It’s not permanent by itself anymore, but the help of Blowtorch, Incendiary Ammo, Air Blast, and Napalm should be more than sufficient to sustain Burning damage on targets to take advantage of Flame Jet’s 10% damage increase.

I’ve noticed everyone talking about the 4s burning but no one seem to have notice that it’s a condition. which duration can be increased, potentially keeping it 100% uptime for all you blowtorch/FT lovers :P

1 serious question tho, is it really the only PvP build or is it the only one you’ve found, not many people have experimented or tried new things for moths, as an engineer. we get nerfed every patch, not nerf but destroyed! and in the process of finding something new, we always find something better. maybe that will also be the case for eles. unless you’re a die hard believer than ele was one build, and not a class

And patch hasn’t come out yet, calm you kitten down and just wait and read the patch notes off the wiki or something, for once i’m kinda exited about the healing turret’s water field, if they make it something like 5s engineer will be loved by every team (same as they love the ranger’s healing spring)

They said they wouldn’t nerf it on this patch, but if they do plan on nerfing on the future. they have to come up to something to balance more engineer’s role on WvW. without grandes we would be stuck on rifle’s auto attack while trying to cap anything

Pretty sure they the reason they did not make RoTL to be affected by chill/cripple is because you have a 33% duration reduction on all movement conditions ( including immobilize), remove chill on dodge.. as well as a one too many condition removals, a nerf like this would had gone unnoticed. making it pointless.

Something is different now tho! people are crying we’re OP :] OP classes don’t tend to get 6-10 months too late, and this patch will prove this either right or wrong, also i’ve been fighting devs and most of them have been plying engineers, and they are not half bad, specially power on hgh, he’s pretty scary if he gets up close. also the community has grown, engi’s everywhere now..

It’s not being overly confident and positive, terrible things are gonna happen, we all know that and even expect them, it’s just that they didn’t mention anything terribly bad on the SoTG and still people are overreacting. let’s just wait until patch day and see what happens.

oh and i know trait won’t happen on the next patch, or prob anytime look, specially since all our traits look good when you read them off the wiki. but since they already done it once, it open the possibility to happen again on the future, and about incendiary powder.. for someone like me who normally runs burst power builds, seems more attractive with a 4s duration which further increased, i think potentially it could be inceased to 60% uptime on 100% chance on crits

lol you’re funny, i guess CoF P1 farm will do that to your brain, if its not pure damage is worthless.. but you really need to think about balance. if they give back the 1% they will have to take damage away from most skills forcing people into glassier builds, but then again. i wouldn’t mind the warrior being easier to kill js ..

I guess only one of us have played warrior, and will give you a clue, its not you , Flurry is a condition based burst skill. Skull Crack not bash.. is a control based skill and Arcing Slice idk, but does GS really needs more damage ?

are you using any other sigil ? sigils share an internal cool down so if an effect from another sigil triggers (like on crit), no other sigil will be triggered until the internal cooldown is over.

you don’t get the point do you ? the 30% damage increase you’re hoping for have been on the burst skill all along, warriors numbers are extremely high compared to any and most classes, and specially when compared to what it says on the tool tip.

and also, if i remember correctly the 18k was on a ranger, 12 and 11k on warrior/guardian.

They talked about the possibility of making it a shadow step at max distance if nothing is targeted. wouldn’t that be a greater benefit than slightly decreasing recharge ?

yea things are not so bad so far, people are just freaking out out of habbit, and this is coming from the guy who got accused of trying to form a crusade last patch.. let’s wait and see.

Besides, Engineers is considered a strong class now, and comunity has largely grown, i see engi’s everywhere I go now :P we’re loosing our title as underdogs. and most hated class by anet and such

PS: If they dont destroy HGH on this patch, kick it on the ribs and throw it under a bridge. that will asure than we are consider an OP class now by anet… and as you know, they nerf OP classes every 6-12 months.. if you don’t believe me ask cantrips ele or shatter mesmer. how about backstab thief 9 months took them to get a little “special threatment”

Anet actually explains this. guardians are meant to go in a battle and stay their, that’s the reason for their sustain as to “ranger” is mainly a ranged, class.. GS is kinda really bad and having an option to disengage go back to their bows seem logical.

also, it is a gap closer which making it easy to reach the target you’re already fighting or new one. the skill in no form forces you to teleport to an undesired situation like a group of mobs unless you, select the foe in the middle of the mob and then click the skill ( Exept if you have auto targetting, which shouldn’t be on once you know the basics of the game)

This is probably the best suggestion, although I would hate it.

it would be basically we second form of weakness then? umm interesting cause then it would shut down every sigil and trait proc on critical hit but then again, why don’t just make it a part of the current weakness.

Overkill and it doesn’t target the stuff that was actually needed to balance ele’s. It just limits eles to continue playing tanky builds because they can’t use a burst combo and then get out, like every other burst class in the game.

“Perma” stealth is only achievable if you spec that way…making your damage laughable.

That’s not really true, with D/P and 15 points into shadow arts, with Meld with Shadows and Infusion of Shadow will allow you to perma stealth, and then you can spec into any build you want.

@ensoriki.5789 Deep wound also be nice but you would need a different secondary effect since poison already debuff healing. Also but i’m completely against attack speed debuff since it only promotes wanting to smash the keyboard on people’s faces

Bring back the old Disease From GW1? maybe rename it Plague.

  • Tick damage similar to poison
  • Moderate duration
  • Every 3s it will Disease up to 3 people (180 radius)
  • Increases tick damage by % for each unique condition on target.
  • Stacks on duration.

The idea behind it is to have a condition which will affect team fights, specially on Nodes on PvP and WvV where the low dmg ticking condition could add up to big numbers if left alone, forcing players to remove it to prevent it’s spreading or to avoid players suffering from it. as well as following the ideology than a disease can moredeadly if faced with multiple conditions at the same time.

Also, in the future, this condition could be easily introduced to another professions such as engineer(throw plague), Thief(Plague Venom), Mesmer(Illusion of Plague).

Any thought? suggestions? idea? please let’s keep it constructive and troll free.

Can’t Ele’s also trait to do dmg and inflict chill & vuln while giving themselves regen while in Mist Form?
and still can I am sure.

Not sure about chill and vuln, but it can give them regen and vigor if traited. Meanwhile mesmers get to use every single one of the utility, weapons skills, healing skill and elites while in distortion. Not sure why they didnt get nerfed like eles and engis got nerfed.

yea, it can be traited to chill and damage but the damage is acidic elixir’s type of damage. and mesmer’s distortion is really not OP, 3s(4 max) and without illusions, makes them really vulnerable. 80% of the time after a Mesmer comes out distortion, he dies

Warriors are still vulnerable and easy to kill. so they will fit as roamers on the meta spec’ing more into glassy builds.

You know retaliation is a good source of damage for some engi builds? (5 in Alchemy + Elixir B and for the rare people using Armor Mods)

I find retal to be strong on group fights but on 1v1, if your gettin hit enough for retal to make significant damage, that means you’re dead and they are just trashing your body :[

I don’t see these changes making warriors OP. Due to where some of the new traits are going we probably won’t be dealing insane damage. As it is warriors will need 10 in Defense and 30 in Discipline. If we want to truly shrug off movement conditions we will need to take a full set of Mel runes which means more toughness as opposed to strength. At the best being able to run a Bunker Buster might make us attractive to have on a TPvP team again. There’s simply no denying that Bunkers are currently too strong and having the ability to spec to beat them at the cost of being more damage oriented is good for the meta.

  • with new trait + Warriors will be able to counter cripple/chill making them unstoppable
  • Unblockable attacks + increase damage %, they will eat bunkers for lunch, and ele’s/engi for snacks

No, just no. Warriors can not engage and disengage and reengage anywhere close to ele.

No other class can disengage like Ele’s, specially since RoTL is not affected by cripple/chill , also Ele’s can full heal on a few seconds as when ranger’s can warrior’s cannot bleed them to dead and let the suckers run!

the RoTL is so that ele’s disengage battle whenever they want, and then come back with the same skill at full health with the same skill.

Also, warriors are a meele class, ele’s are not :P D/D is just a build but doesn’t mean the class is suppose to be on your faces 100% of the time. :]

Nothing has been nerfed yet so there is no need to be overreacting.

Boom hate

Thief: S/D build will be able to steal booms, but…. this build is not a bursty build, specially with the mug Nerf.. they will more of an annoyance than a treat…

Warrior: Warrior will be an unstoppable beast, this nerf will not only affect engi but overall game-play since with 1 trait + swiftness they can negate cripple/chill and with the boon hate, they will spec more into critical damage and therefore dealing much more damage. warrior’s will be everyone’s natural predator now.

What to expect:
They might change the way runes work, but with a natural predator now out on the field. it seems they might hold off on nerfing HGH.

409 might receive a 5s internal cooldown, same as ele’s cleaning waters.

WHAT WE SHOULD BE HAPPY ABOUT!!!!!!!!!

  • Retal damage is being toned down on WvW! Grande and FT users should be happy!
  • For the first time Anet has merged and created new traits!!!!!!!! this opens up great possibilities if anet decides to work on some of our useless traits (we got alot of those)

The only real nerf so far is confusion nerf for WvW players. other than that, they said granades will not be nerfed this patch.

Also now that boon hate is coming into effect (warriors getting more damage against targets with buffs and thieves stealing the boons) I am curious into how much that is going to affect our builds since bunker,flamethrower, hgh builds rely heavily on it.

Glass cannon warriors will be able to 1 shot Engi’s ele’s Guardians etc since boon hate was placed on the Discipline which focus around Critical damage instead of a defensive trait. Currently i can push killshot to 19.6k max, now add 15% more damage from avg 5 boons you see on this classes, imagine eviscerate on anyone running lysssa’s runes
