so, if he gets stunned twice, does that make him a terrible player then ? 3 times maybe he should quit the game, specially since adrenaline is sooo kitten hard to get and skull crack is over telegraphed

These are the tools that build has to take out the Warrior;

Pistol/Shield
*1 Blind
*1 Push back
*1 2 second block with 1 second stun when hit and 2 second daze when thrown

Grenade Kit
*1 Blind
*1 Chill

Bomb Kit
*1 AoE blind
*1 AoE immob
*1 AoE knockback

Also, 5 dodges back to back.

and all the warrior need to do is land one cc in between and your dead gg.
spamable cc in a game where cc is the single most strong thing you can do and on top they let cc have good dmg and on top of that have a tanky build lol the weed at anet is prob amazing can i get some?

Isn’t that the risk you take from not grabbing a stun break?

stun break 40s cd, skull crack 8s, earthshakers 8s cd on most builds, everything else is between 20-30s, would it really make that much off a difference, also berseker stance and warrior has the most stab in the game :]

also none of those skills are going to kill the warrior, if anything they will simply stall ur dead for a while longer. ( unless you got GoD mode enable like Got does)

stun break or no stun break, you literally have to outplay the other person regardless of their skill level, while all he needs to do is land 1 stun.

for the people who like to argue everything just to be right:

Mace/Mace

  • 1 Daze(15s cd)
  • 1 Stun(7-10s cd)
  • 1 Knock down 25s cd

Hammer

  • 1 Stun 7-10s cd
  • 1 Knock Down 24-30s cd
  • 1 Push Back 20s cd

Rampage

  • 1 push
  • 1 Stun
  • 1 Knock down

[utility]

  • Stomp

so.. Engineers lowest stun break CD is 40s. vs 10 CC’s most in a lower cd, and all the warrior needs to land is 1 stun break or no stun break you realistically have to outplay them, while all the gotta do is land one of the spammable stun on you

Depends how you look at it, you’re losing 1 of the bonus.. but you get to abuse that full condi clear and all boons every 48-60s

also, 180 power/toughness makes little to no difference of warrior, Crit dmg would matter a little more but still, most warriors run either lyssa or melandru.

also u can easily get 100% by running lyssa, and sigil of rage ( which is not so rare) and doesnt sacrifice anything.

120CD might make it too strong but what if they keep spirit of nature on a 180cd but make it invulnerable to all damage for those 60s that is up ? allow it to at least survive those kitten staff condi eles spamming AoE on tourneys

you could be the very best player, play perfectly against lets say a warrior, dodge every stun, deal damage and almost kill him, then 1 stun is all it takes for an average warrior to kill you

is not that people don’t wanna run skilled builds, is just that cheese will always be more effective than actual skill, Anet has focuses so much into making the game braindead easy, they haven’t made any effort to improve/reward skillful game play.

The video is nice, but sadly thats not whats happening on gw2

the noob tubes we’re getting in GW2 are so overpowered, that they become the best strategy at both low and high end PvP and the best strategy to counter this is to fight cheese with cheese since the games has been focused so much on making it easy, than there hasn’t been progress when it comes to rewarding skill.

you could be the very best player, land all the right skills, dodge all the right times, get the enemy down to 10% and then he gets a lucky stun, and its gg for you.

umm kinda surprised how many players believe doing 12k+ dmg on 3 attacks and 100-0 another player while being completely CC’ed is normal

Even more surprised how self centered some players are, the world might rotate around you at home but this is the internet, no one gives a kitten

Instead nerfing AR, Anet should buff scepter auto attack so it deals around 1k on condi builds and 2-3k on power builds. that would give necros a fighting chance against these monstrous engineer bunkers..

also. maybe ban Voz from the game too, no one needs that kind of gamebreaking players on gw2

if you’ve never used skills because you heard they are “bad”, that means you havent tried over 50% of the engineer skills (including healing turret which is a standard for engineers now days ), soooooo……. by assumption, i could guess you’ve ran the same build for the past year, and since you think toolbelt is “bad”, that build is something like nades + elixirs… which would then explain ur dislike for the toolbelt mechanic due to your “limited” knowledge of the class

As a guy who runs dire in WvW and plays tourneys I am begging you to let the OP kitten stay where it belongs.

For the love of god, if dire was in PvP the game would literally be dire engis/necros/rangers/anything else with condis running around.

It’s broken, plain and simple. No dire gear in pvp!!!

OE don’t kill my buzz bro!! we need Dire with perplexity on PvP to finally take engi, necro, warrior, mesmer viable on PvP!! otherwise conditions will never be viable..

Tbh this guys sounds like a hotjoin hero based off the claim that he made about having the second most tournis played NA thats is not possible to calculate. the ladder does not tell you how many tournis played/won befor the ladder came out and i was rank 40 by the time ladder even came out. Another suggestion to marvin 300+ per champ means nothing at all but that uve wanted to get the title for every class in the game aka hotjoin hero and 300 games is kitten and means nothing. try 1-2 classes its good to know all classes but not good play all so much see as you needed that time to correctly learn your main. once you have 1500+ tournis then u have effectively learned that class.

the rumours are that there will be new skills added to the game such a new a new arcane heal for ele and such. dunno how much its true but if it is, hopefully we get new skills ( crossing fingers for a new kit) instead of trying to change misunderstood skills

Still better than our current mechanic of getting a few extra, yet universally considered ultra weak/underpowered utility skills that we have no control over selecting.

and besides, what would be the benefit or even the point of these changes ?

Conclusion
Primarily this change would justify our current profession balance and legitimize the reason why engineers cannot currently use weapon swapping. However I feel that these changes, such as adding endurance gain when toggling kits and triggering kit based Tool Belt skills when kits are activated, would greatly improve the overall power of kits, as well as strengthening non-kit centric builds by freeing up our utility skill slots and providing easier access to useful and improved traits.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I don’t like not being allowed to use weapon swapping because I might slot a kit. As long as kits are an optional part of our profession being denied weapon swapping is unjustifiable. Likewise if kits are a necessary part of the profession than being forced to sacrifice our utility slots to use them is likewise unjustifiable.

i guess you have forgotten how strong those “few skills” are (Lots of these are even if not stronger than real utilities in other classes, and we get them for “free”), unless ur running elixirs which then is understandable but its a downside to running the simplest builds.

and being forced 30 points into a trait line kills build diversity, something the engineers has right now.

but for them that would be fighting over pennies, they just need more resources so they don’t have time/manpower as an excuse for taking so long to come out with features, which sadly are of very low quality.. it’s prob 1 or 2 people working on these, and they always find the “easy” way out.. take match making and map rotation as an example ..

its not about balancing a class to be easy/hard but rather allowing each class to have a skill level…

raising the skill floor of a class to make it brain death easy and effective ins’t ideal balance, specially on a PvP system with zero rewards where personal skill level is the only thing to be proud about…

making classes require 20 mins to play on the same level of someone who’s played for a year, is just damaging the game, and its basically what you’re askign for eles. for the class to be dumbed down to a point where using 2 attunaments will be extremily effective while requiring very little skill

with engineer you have the option to custom make your builds as simple or complex as you want, and still be viable.. class is only hard to play when compared to the “easy ones” since there is such a huge gap

Eles are fine.. they just happen to be weak on this meta, just because one class might seem complicated to you, doesnt mean it should be dumbed down, thats really selfish thinking..

warriors were just overbuffed in balance, they were given too much offensive/defensive at the same time, crazy regen + longer stuns on a heavy armor with the largest health pools that deals glass cannon dmg on tank spec… what could possibly go wrong ?

to be fair… elementalist have the most strongest burst heals, eaiest acess to stability/protection…. this meta just happens to have too much damage, and boon hate for them to survive…

bur if you remember, before necro/spirit rangers, there was countless threads about how this low HP class was impossible to kill on 1v1 :p

this thread might be on the wrong forums, devs did say that ele stay on 1 -2 attunements on PvE…

PvP is a lot more different and using all 4 attunements is required, and not as hard to do as some people might think.. also the changes that are being asked, are pretty much what some rangers have said about locking out their pet, and gaining a small dmg buff, Anet most likely will not change class mechanics, specially on such ways .. so yea :/

Rangers are meant to “survive”. by design they were given up to 3 evades on a weapon sets and the easest access to protection/regen/vigor while giving them an outside source of passive DPS.

Thief were given a high damage perma evade at low initiative cost by design

Mesmers, even they were designed to be stronger than most classes, from pet targeting/positioning down to what would be their stronger build(shatter), all by design

GW2 has an amazing combat system, it’s all the poor design choises and lack of action that are harming the game

I’m pretty sure Anet can program it but its more if they really want to.

sPVP focus is very limited, most of energy goes towards PVE/WvW.

Or are they able too? PvP devs seem unexperienced..

so far the features that have been released have been of very low quality, and the coding has very little thought behind it

  • ladder boards: buggy having players on top 1 spot after losing games, decay is almost non existent, not nearly as much detail as gw2 shack
  • Matchmaking: takes the first 5 players with similar MMR and groups then, AND THEN tries to find another group, which usually ends up being with anyone who’s left. Aka low ranks/new players. Absolutely the laziest way to code match making
  • Randomizers: the simplest most basic thing, yet temple has found a way to outsmart it… temple of the silent troll :/
  • PvP locker ? lazy design..
  • etc

Features are simple and poorly designed, they don’t justify how much times it takes for them to be released, which is prob due to not the lack of a full time PvP team, Devs prob work on these features at once for a short period of time, and then go work on another aspect of the game while each feature is strategically released after periods of time to create a sense of progress.

Please show me a match recently vs a very top end team that he uses class cannon ranger and does really well.

I do know Eura I’ve seen him play, and as I already stated because the top .5% of rangers can do something doesn’t make it good.

Also still waiting for the stream of him playing vs a top team as glass spec.

Yea that’s how game should be not like 70-80 percent can play high level. That’s how warrior was pre patch now they are OP (now most that know proper roataions can play top tier warrior). This game just disappoints me now…

is not a question about weather of not if they can do it.. but rather, have they tried???

if a person mains rangers, how come only the 0.5% knows to keep it alive? the pet mechanic just doesn’t allow for people to develop real skill so when it comes to running actual builds, that obey logic its either too hard or not “viable”

most rangers except that 0.5% are just lazy..

Rangers are not the weakest nor the strongest class…

they just have a terrible class mechanic that handicaps the class….

  • Weapon skills/utilities are weak to balance out having the pet
  • and since skills are weak, the only “viable” thing to do is to spec bunker and let pets kill stuff

people are always gonna complain about rangers, since any strong build they will ever have are always gonna be based around the pet killing stuff while being tanky and spamming evades and auto attack… too much reward for doing the least out all classes.

its not really the rangers fault tho, its just the cheap mechanic thats gonna keep hurting them over and over..

Thats prob next week’s patch, the actual balance patch should be the one on Oct 1st

This patch should have a decent impact tho on the over all game, personally im exited about immobilize stacking on duration, x4 long bow warriors + Epic necro should be pretty epic! 20s AoE immobilizes new meta

so you think engineers perform adequately and yet you are here crying and moaning for buffs. next thread.

Please leave, since you clearly don’t read anything that anybody here says.

Engineers require much more effort and button mashing to get an adequate performance than any other class.

The amount of skill required should correlate with the performance you get, but Engineers don’t seem to work that way.

Just wondering, if you’re looking for a simple straight forward easy class why are you playing engineer? whats keeping you tied to this class when u could be playing warrior or guard. they are much much easier and more “effective”

Thief counter warriors atm, just kite berserker stance and spam blind, if the war runs the teef prob wont be able to kill them, but it’ll prob be the counter meta backpoint defender

people are saying they will be gettin toned down tho, at least stun durations so they might not be as big or harmful as the spirit ranger/necro meta .

So one class out of seven counters Warriors? I thought the idea with this game was you basically could play any class you wanted because every class could do most anything decently if specced that way. Not to be rude but its awful game design to have something that is basically countered by only one thing out of a bunch of things. What if I solo q and have no thieves on my team. What if I get a group together and I don’t have a thief in it because one I trust is not on. I am sol I guess. Every build/class should have multiple counters and at least one of these counters should be expected to be present in any match randomly unless you are very unlucky imo. Just being able to say well this one thing can counter X, if its actually present, does not excuse op builds.

sadly that’s how it has been for a while now, hard counters are being introduced to deal with troublesome classes.

S/D was added to tone down Ele, Mesmer when they were consider OP and is currently still keeping them under control

Stun lock warriors was added to heal with Spirit Rangers/Necro/Engi, as a side effect of having godly regen and 4s stuns on 7-10s cd, they can trash most builds atm.

next we should see a hard counter to both S/D thief and/or stun lock warriors.
