Path 3 is really simple, short and fun (that corridor filled with bombs). In fact, I’d rather do path 3 (pugged but with voice comm) than path 2 with most pugs who just queue to die for magg defend event.

He’s bugged at the moment, you can kill him through conditions damage mostly. Before he was bugged, you were supposed to get rid of his buff by making him charge at an obstacle.

Often all five circles are shielded or they appear when you imprison sparks. I’d really want a dev citation here but devs dont recognize arah as a dungeon, most likely like a failed experiment not worthy of fixing. Otherwise it wouldn’t be plagued by so many bugs/glitches/et cetera. Few bosses have really cool mechanics, much better than most in other dungs but bugs win that fight anyway.

Been there yesterday – 1 war, 1 ele, 1 guardian, 1 necro, 1 ranger – and we just locked in an infinite loop of her cloaking at 25% hp. We got her down to 25% using the 4-1 trick, she cloaked, we ran sparks and decloaked her at about 35~40% (2 people running sparks, 3 people keeping dps) only to see her cloak at 25% again. We kept in that loop for over 30 minutes – 25%->40%->25%->40%… sometimes it was considerably lower than 40% but not low enough not to trigger the 25% cloaking.
There’s no way to apply the 4-1 trick for the 25% cloaking… or is there? We tried it, got her down to 25%, ran only 4 sparks, let her pop out naturally, but then she got to ~75%, so we had to waste the ‘1 spark pops her out’ at the 50% mark again, staying locked in a loop.

Well, we’ve done it with almost exact setup in about 4 minutes with 4-1 trick but we had to use it again because one spark started to misbehaving. Also, sometimes, for no apparent reason, if you get a spark (not 5th one) to the statue, it will behave as in you would got all five and decloack her.

Overally, whole Arah doesn’t look like it was tested thorougly. There are many bugs surrounding whole dungeon.

Done it with only 2 warriors! But on the serious note I’m wondering if you’re not supposed to have everyone running sparks. There are 5 sparks and 5 people. But like Wethospu said, you can try doing 4-1 tactics, it might work, it did for us.

Hard to find groups for dungeons ?

Since FotM came out, it’s been harder to find groups for the other dungeons with a few exceptions. Any “easy” dungeon, like CoF, or dungeon that you can skip a bunch of content (AC) then it’s easy to find groups. People don’t want to invest the time because the common attitude when running dungeons (pug groups anyways) has been “me me me” as of late.

Actually, it’s now really profitable to not skip AC, at least spider queen, kholer and troll. But agreed, new flavour is the bane of the old dungeons, that’s probably why Christ Whiteside (Studio Design Director) said that revamping all of existing dungeons through rebalance and overhauled encounters would happen in future updates.

its not like you are forced to use magic find gear if you dont want a party member with magic find then dont get a party member with magic find but dont bash the rest of the population because you dint like something, if anything the dungeons need a revamp in dificulty. why should i be lvl 80 and have a party at lvl 80 so we stand a chance in a level 35-50 dungeon.

Few things need to be explained here. You’re not forced to use mf gear but if you’re pugging there’s a chance (even high) that someone will wear it. And since almost no one asks to ping equipment you’re unaware that you might carry his kitten

Secondly, I lvled up 2 characters solely (from 35 lvl) in dungeons so saying that you need to be lvl 80 is really out of a place. If you say that people force you to be lvl 80, hey that’s the same situation here.

The only issue with lupi is that he sometimes resets for no apparent reason during phase 2. Other than that the fight is quite fun. Now, if you want to address the most annoying issues they would be bugged path 1, broken mechanics surrounding simin and of course gates of arah being bugged most of the time on numerous servers. Rest of the problems aren’t that frequent, they do require fixing but those 3 I listed need a hotfix, not 4 months after the launch.

Instead of random rings they should hand out ring tokens from daily chests you can trade in for rings of choice.

That wouldn’t work out. People want to feel excitement when it comes to getting new shinies, not getting guaranteed drops. Where’s the fun in there?

Where is the fun in getting a ring which has useless stats for your build and has no other use too? I only play my guardian, so most rings looks like merchant trash to me.

So merchant will have fun with those shinies!

You might want to get in line when it comes to fixing (or rather not fixing) arah. There are far more severe bugs right now and much more frequent. And they still haven’t been fixed after almost 3 months.

The Fire trait line may be somewhat weak, but the combined effects of the signet build can be quite solid. And since you’ll be using more than one signet, you will likely get Signet of Earth which mitigates the loss of defense somewhat.

The signet build may not be your ultimate choice, and I’ll admit it isn’t mine either. But the build as a whole, does work, and is quite viable at least in dungeons and PvE.

Don’t get me wrong, this build is solid, the theory behind it is pretty decent, but there are builds far outperforming that particular build.

Either way, I’m not a weak link in my party, and someone using MF isn’t by default a weak link either.

That’s being a leecher want it or not. Bad players are not leechers, people plays better or worse…that’s a fact, but if you are not giving your best without the need of spending anything that’s leeching your party.

Sure you might not be a weak link to your party, but tell your whole party to use full MF gear and let’s see if the party is so efficient
As i said, it’s hardly noticable having 1 “MFer” in the group, take a whole group of MFers and let’s see how well and fast it goes.

There is an huge difference between not having the gear and having it and not using it just because you want better profit on YOURSELF. I would take a new player with green gear adapted to their build over a skilled MFer anytime, if i’m going to carry someone i choose the one who needs it the most.

The thing is still that people should be able to choose, right now there is no choice because people can simply lie and link normal gear when in reality they are using “Leecher” gear.

Agreed wholeheartedly. Just try running in a whole mf party, lacking 5355 stat points won’t make a difference right? 1-2 minutes longer.

alot of times the event chains to open the gate is bugged too.

Path 3 and 4 aren’t bugged if I recall correctly. Path 2 might bug occasionaly. Path 1 is just asking for a glitch unless you know how to work around it.

And why would xfire be a good indicator?
The majority of those using things like xfire are those that simply jump between every new game they can get their hands on. And then leave within the first few months. This is nothing specific to GW2.

You’re pretty funny. None of given statistics tool is viable to you yet some people expressing their opinion in LA (probably doing fotm in few moments) are. Before introducing new shinies there was no thread with 10,000+ posts claiming that we need new gear. They were popping occasionaly I give you that, but their volume was nowhere near even 1000 posts. Assuming that forum represents 5% of userbase, how do you think every statistical survey, inquiry or poll works? For instance, researching people’s voting canditates for new election, you think they ask more than 1% of whole population? No, they ask about 1000 people.

Fair points. However, with the signet/aura build, the signet also triggers its own passive and gives you protection AND swiftness (where with the glyph, you’d have to choose). That doesn’t make up for the glyph in terms of defense, true, but what you get in return is extra damage in the form of fury. That’s a tradeoff that can be worth it, depending on your point of view.

I’ve tested rather broadly those kind of builds and I consider them rather underperforming. You can easily get those boons without spending 20 trait points in trait line that is generally falling short of expectations.

How can a trait line be falling short? If you’re investing in it specifically to get a trait, the trait you’re getting is obviously useful. And all of the trees give good attributes.

If you’re putting points in fire line just for attack (because most fire traits are completely ridiculous) it’s a waste of trait points. You need 20 points in fire to get fire’s embrace, not just 10.

A sub 30 min instance (for people at the suggested level) isnt worth being called a dungeon.

Make it 4-5 hours, because the name dungeon implies how long it should take right?

That’s not a solution.

You would think that with a dungeon that has multiple tiered difficulty levels that there would be a lobby similar to the SPVP lobby where people can create games and others can join. But no, apparently that doesn’t make sense and spamming map chat in LA makes much more sense from a design standpoint.

Spamming map chat brings social aspect, at least that’s what I heard.

Within. That could mean 5 minutes or 59 minutes. Or anything between those two numbers.
There are some paths that does take close to an hour. While others takes closer to 15 minutes.

Barring skipping, there’s only CoF path 1 that takes about 10 minutes for a decent team. Others take about 30-40 minutes which was confirmed by dev that it’s their objective.

So there is ONE Dungeon that does have a decent time.
Most (if not all) others can easily be done within an hour. Several of them within half an hour.

Now you’re talking about hour for most (if not all) and before that it was 15 minutes. Do you have troubles with math?

I’m facerolling to great victory on my mesmer, I actually have to try when I’m on my necro to do half as well.

I guess I could drink the coolaid and say man Im really skilled on a mesmer I beat everyone and everything mesmers are not OP im just that good at the class.

Agreed. I, for instance, stopped playing mesmer in pvp cause it was too boring and easy. Was I really skilled on a mesmer and unskilled on every other proffesion?

True, all dung paths should take as long as arah path 4 for first timers. Basically, that should be a benchmark for other paths. That would make so much things exciting.

Anet launched gw2 with pvp in basically alpha, maybe early closed beta state. To get to e-sport, it needs about one year of constant and frequent updates which won’t happen because in that time no one serious will play said pvp. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

Well rather or not this is true, this really isn’t helping with no one, because I have met alot of people that forced to invite extra of the same classes, by people, that are being a complete kitten about this very situation, and then bail when group doesn’t work with the lack of variety of spells and buffs.

Just the very idea of having a majority of the same profession or all of the same profession to do a dungeon explore mode or FotM, is stupid! No, its not my opinion, the idea itself PURE idiocy because this already hurts the game populations because the most top favorite profession creation is Warrior, Mesmer, Thief, and Guardian.

So if you allow people to use 3, 4, or 5 of the same profession able to group up and complete dungeons without bother with any other professions, what’s the point having the other professions?

Its obvious here the people are Blind and do not see the issue clearly! However, if you cannot allow other professions to have some kind of competitions versus the list I posted, you really have a broken game set up for PvE.

The issue is clear. However, most people use those proffesions because they are rather faceroll-ish so I guess that makes less chance to get player badly utilizing said proffesions (relatively to other less wanted proffesions).

You aren’t supposed to damage them through the bubbles, but to enter those bubbles and fight them inside. You can melee them with a gs warrior that way just as well. More so, warriors can’t fight them from the outside either.
Many professions being able to fight them without teleporting inside is actually a flaw in the design.

It’s not a flaw, basically every ranged non-projectile attack will get through the bubble. Bubbles absorb only projectiles. Can’t really imagine that was a flaw in the design but a
intentional choice. Also, you can get inside the bubble without using teleport (every profession except necro)

I’m very aware of that, but given that the teleports are there, the ranged-non-projectile attacks working seems like an oversight, forcing everyone to use the portals would be much more fun.

The whole encounter is still bad designed. You can’t summon any pets rendering most mesmers build to almost nothingness (most of the dps comes from various usage of illusions) except spamming greatsword clones outside the dome. Does forcing everyone to port inside is still a good idea? Plus, like I’ve said, every proffesion except necro can get inside the bubble without using teleporters.

There will always be players and builds that prefer certain skill choices. I for one cannot fathom using Ether Renewal, but from what I’ve read, it’s quite popular to some players.

What ever choice Arena net makes, pretty sure even Arena net would agree, having 3, 4, or 5 of the same profession as a group for Dungeon Explore or FotM, is pretty much goes against their game mechanic ideas.

Are you seriously implying that the signet/aura build is a bad idea? The earth and water signets are pretty decent snares in addition to their passive effects. Combined with said traits, they make excellent duelling skills.

The reason why Arah is hard is because the gate is never open so people can’t actually get in it. The undefeated champion boss, Mr.Gate

Me and my party been wanting to do Arah but haven’t been able to in ages due to the gate issue.
