Long Term goal, the prices are fine, but why is there a long term goal on standard looking armor that appears no more special than items you can farm much cheaper and faster in a dungeon?

I do not understand the idea of wanting cultural armor to be such a long term goal. If anything, cultural armor should be some of the cheapest, it’s part of your culture.

I bought both halloween outfits but only because I saw the witch flying on her broom.

I figured it was going to be the closest thing to an actual mount we’ll ever get.

Then I bought the Mad King because I thought he would do something cool… a little disappointed there.

I probably won’t be buying any more because they are not account wide and I do not feel like constantly using them as town clothes only. It would be nice to have an auto switch toggle to change my clothing any time I am not in combat.

As for armor skins, I would buy more if they created anything that interested me. I do not like dungeon grinds, I do not like farming Karma, I really only like playing the game and dressing my characters in ways I enjoy (and very little in the current armor designs entice my imagination).

yes they will be craftable if you have the components.

I enjoyed the event and the decorations. My only issue was the clock tower having so many other players in it. 4 max players would have been fine, but the number we had made the clock tower more difficult than need be.

I could not stand leaving it unfinished. About 11 hours later and 2 giant Coke Slurpee (and a handful of candy corn) I finished it and completely crashed for 14 hours of sleep.

When I woke up I thought it was around 7-8 am but it was 4 pm at night (storm outside).

If you do insist on playing the gambling game, do not get mad when you lose everything you invested.

As for the permanent tonic craft, it can’t hurt.

I’m at nearly 5 hours of trying still can’t get up there. cursing ANet every step of the way and probably going to burn out after it.

I’ve done about 15 runs, gotten 1 exotic… torch.

What about people on low pop servers that play during off peak hours? Oh wait, we don’t give a rats kitten about them huh, as long as you can play the way you want it does not matter that others can not.

one guy got a level 80 Arachnid bow with magic find, so the rewards are there, just rare.

I say that in jest. So many people (including some devs) think that an efficient LFG system in a game where we all have our own loot ruins the “community feel”. That’s complete BS.

The reason it was tainted in WoW was due to randoms abusing the system, needing on loot for greed over people that need (class based loot), and a variety of exploits.

In GW2 we have our own loot so do not have any of those issues. Even if ANet got their act together and made it cross world, we would not have half the issues WoW does.

If people think standing in a zone spamming and trolling the map chat is community, that’s just sad.

I’ll be missing the event. I will get home just as it is ending IF lucky.

I know they are going to put one in, I just can’t believe they are using the “it builds community to use chat to LFG” as an excuse to cover up the rush job they were forced into.

How many people think a normal player will get reported 20, 30, 100 times a day for botting?

Too bad they just do not allow us to report players and they automatically get banned or temp banned based on the amount of reports from different accounts.

Of course this can be abused, but anyone found abusing it should get their account permanently banned.

roll up a new thief, go to the Sylvari city, explore that for a quick 3 transmute stones.

Unless you make a lot of cash in game, this is the fastest way to earn stones and transmute it for a quick hood.

I would get the witch, I love it more than the mad king.

Mad King scepter is kind of boring, the broom allows you to fly around (kind of), summon a cat, and a cauldron for future costume use. Mad king scepter summons a candy golem and food fight table.

Warrior seems more physical than any other class so to me that is epic, jumping into the fray and blasting things with the rifle or shield bashing enemies.

Only once since the jugs were introduced did I only get a coin.

But that was on my lowbie character. Since then I have been finishing the dailies on my higher level characters and gotten repair kits or the level 80 transmute stones, and one bank access today.

I bet the Greatsaw and Arach were the first designed. They sunk in all their love, then were told to hurry with the others.

I’m on Jade as well and when I went through the only thing that kept killing me was the traps.

I’m starting to like the Warrior. I can really take a beating and it looks and feels real.

I flip items all the time and can make 3-4 gold a day. I usually stick with items that get me at least double my investment.

it is in the works. ANet had to rush a few of this games features (Trade Post) to get it ready for release.

yes the event chains will unfold and still allow you to do the prior chains.

I was able to complete it at level 5 or 6. Just follow people and ask them to help. Most people I asked actually took it up as their job to make sure I got to the locations.

and I agree, spending a lot of money on a chance and getting nothing desirable kills the enjoyment of the game. Which is why I do not gamble. I have horrid luck and I do not want to ruin the enjoyment of the game.

MajorMelchett do you really believe that the people that sunk big money into keys had no clue that the items were rare?

There were clues everywhere from the lack of items on the TP (less than 60 of any of the more desirable skins last I checked), to people complaining in game and posting all over this forum.

People knew it was a gamble yet still could not control their impulses because they thought “one more, I’ll get lucky with one more chest”.

I think a lot of people that spend 100 dollars on keys, just to gamble, then get pissed when they do not win something they want… need to learn not to gamble.

Do I think the event was handled properly? No, but even after reading how low the drop rates were, people are still dumping 100s of dollars and turning around to complain they lost the lotto.

no I’ve gotten different items and only gotten the jug with my lowbie.

I only wish WoW had server wide AH. It was too easy to control the market with server based AHs.

In Mists there is a PvP locker that you can check out all the skins for.

On my 80 I got 5 80 transmute stones.

On my 75 I was getting black lion repair kits.

On my noobs I was getting just the gold coin.

Somehow they look right on your character, but comparing it to the Greatsaw shows the difference in quality.

True, if ANet caves in and starts handing these skins out like candy corn, it will be a wasted 35 gold (since I bought 3 skins).

I used to bot in Aion, the devs didn’t like it but people were never banned for it.

The bot I used was really complex, I could have been there playing for all any player knew. If you were to set it up properly, it was really hard for a non botter to recognize the bot.

I do not think the prices on the Greatsaw is going to drop.

It will only get more expensive after Halloween is over as it is a NICE model for any tech looking greatsword user.

I would probably pay them 10 dollars for a Quaggan Ghost or Pirate mini pet…

ANet really missed an opportunity to make money, hopefully they noticed this and we will get some really cute Quaggan Elfs and Quaggan’s in PJ’s running around opening presents.

I do not gamble because I have crap for luck.

I have never even seen a key drop from a mob or world chest, only from map completes and BL chests that I have opened.

I get 250 of each mat and just sell the rest. I was going to craft but haven’t really been driven to it since I make enough money on the TP buying and reselling gear.

You can actually do it on another character, then hop to the one you destroyed it on once you see the mail appear. It binds on acquisition, meaning that whichever character opens it gets it soulbound to them.

Did not know that. I was able to get my book on my level 6, just followed people around and let them kill everything. I did get a lot of rezes from friendly people on the last stage
