I think human due to the slender builds and small stature.

Norn are just a bit too muscular and tall which only makes you stand out more in large groups.

we should note that some of the people that are AOEing mobs to death before they spawn are bots.

We do not need to balance against bots, what mesmers need is some way to have a decent AOE that does not require a target so we can AOE tag mobs, or at least have mobs always spawn invulnerable for 2 seconds, run invulnerable to the staging point, then become vulnerable so mesmers can target something before it dies.

would be more interesting if you went down, stayed invisible for 2 seconds, and a clone was spawned that same instant and just ran in a random direction doing the chicken dance.

I regularly bait mesmers into using this on my thief, i LoS for 10 secs and work out which is the real mesmer and summon my Thieves Guild elite and focus the real one using the shortbow and let my elite kill the mesmer while the #1 skill on the shortbow takes all the illusions out of the equation ensuring my elite focuses the mesmer.
Speaking as a thief, Moa is not op, if you get killed in it, its because you got rooted in place while another class burst you down. Anyone running moa with a confusion build would be counterproductive.

I’ve done this on my thief as well I main a thief but playing a mesmer mainly because of how different they are from traditional casters.

it takes spaming key 1 on my Engineer and key 1 and 2(2) on my thief using her bow.

I can tag all mobs as they spawn with my engineer, takes a couple of seconds to tag all the mobs with my thief.

I am on one of the busiest servers, HoD, and I’ve seen how quickly mobs are wiped out. I’m afraid my Mesmer won’t stand a chance at tagging more than 10% each spawn with how long they take to set up.

And it will only get worse as more people hit 80 and have nothing left to do but farm Karma and mats in the same areas.

wait will clones persist if I switch targets before my first target dies?

I just started Mesmer a few days ago and in large battles like DE I find myself constantly trying to generate momentum only to see mobs die before I can use my clones. Often my phantasms even vanish before they are put to use.

Having clones persist until out of combat would help build and retain momentum in these long but very quick battles.

I would dare say even allow players to trait into clones persisting out of combat for 30 seconds but not sure how much that can be abused.

Phantasms also can not be dispelled like conditions and do not get canceled out by the 25 limit conditions suffer from.

would Mesmers be over powered if illusions persisted until out of combat instead of vanishing after the target is dead?

You guys are all talking every 4 seconds, every 5 seconds, every 8 seconds…

great for a long boss fight that doesn’t AOE and destroy your illusions in one hit.

Against normal mobs or even Vets, my thief can wipe those out in less than 2-6 seconds while not getting hit more than once (on a bad fight).

With that perspective, it seems really odd to see you guys fighting over such small numbers when the whole mechanic is sub par.

I love the concept of the Mezmer, but I think it has some major flaws.

I love my engineer and her ability to AOE, I just hate her appearance (medium armor is not what I find attractive).

I only chose mezmer because I thought the clones were a novel idea. Until playing the class I did not realize how poorly they were implemented. They should be as fast as your character if not a little faster when exploding on a target. They should stick around for a short time or until you are out of combat.

Mezmer is like an old wind up toy. Eventually it will get break the inertial barrier to start moving, mean while the penny racer has already sped across the table, jumped off doing a backflip and continued across the whole room.

I wish I didn’t love how good my character looks and spent 10 gold on dyes for her already…

What do Mezmers excel in? Other than confusing new people in PvP?

My mains are Engineer and Thief.

Engineer is an AOE class. Thief can be more an AOE class than a Mezmer because of the way they can spam their attacks, short bow, PW, explosive shot in close range, etc.

Mezmers can AOE, but like all combat with the mezmer, you have to work much harder for a smaller effect… all the while only gaining access to basically summonable target dummies.

Though even at that price… may as well buy from the TP, cheaper and you know what you are getting.

I’m saddened by the fact that all engineers share the same looks for equipment… esp when I see that there are existing models for a lot of different turrets etc.

This is the only class that can kill people in literary 2 seconds. Same old.. Backstab, Cloak Dagger, Heartseeker/Steal whatever. In WvW with all the lag, a good lvl80 thief with upgraded gear will kill you before you can press a single button. Sometimes, you will be on the floor in downed state before you see anything hitting you.

It’s absolutely ridiculous. But hey, can’t win em, join em.

As an engineer I rarely die to thieves and I am new to WvW. Things I do not do…

1) run around solo

2) suck at PvPing

3) stand still when I see a thief charging me

The only leather armor I found that is attractive on my thief is Duelist, it’s the armor that the thief is shown wearing when you first click to make that class.

My engineer made it to 79 before I just couldn’t stand looking at her anymore.

Trench coat, Trench Coat, TRENCH COAT! It was driving me nuts, then I found the duelist armor and dropped her and made a thief (the armor didn’t seem to fit an “engineer” style wise).

Now my thief is 68 and I’m getting bored of looking at her in duelist, so now I’m starting up a clothie… because I found a lot of cloth armor just looks awesome!

I hope they add more than trench coats and huge hipped poofy shirts for medium armor.

great with my engineer, sucks with every other class I’ve tried.

I don’t think a lot of people quit, I think they just moved to more populated servers.

The TP still seems as busy as ever.

There is no additional money being generated if people sell below vender price on the TP. It instead helps the economy by creating a 15% money sink each time and item is sold (and I would suggest a minimum of a 5 copper sales tax).

Some people will gain money by camping the TP by purchasing the cheap items and vendering them, but they won’t make the kind of money I do by purchasing certain items and reselling them for 200% – 500%. Plus when people find out you can do it, more and more people will start looking which will spread out the gain even more.

I think World of Warcraft allows people to sell items below vender price, and you know what, it was never an issue in that game because you could step into a noob zone, farm copper ore and make much more money in much less time.

Why limit how low people can sell items?

If a person sells an item below vender price, less money is being generated than if the seller were to just vender the item.

Item sells, -15% of the sale price.

Item venders, no money sink.

If people do not pay attention to the base value of an item and sell it cheaper on the TP, why should we “protect” them?

If people want to just get rid of an item fast and cheap and knowingly post it for less than vender price, why should we stop them?

As for the price filter, sure, but why do we need it? If someone is too lazy to click on each item in their inventory and see if it’s worth posting… let them just vender everything. We already have a surplus of items, do we really need another system to tell us to add specific items and flood that market as well?

You may think so, I may think so, but we do not have their sales numbers.

APB is a game I love to play, and their weapons cost 30-50 dollars each and they offer little to no advantage to top tier guns you can earn in game, but they keep selling them at that price because people like me spend 800-1200 dollars a year.

Many complain price are too high, but the sales may show a different story.

it’s a bug, you can not fill purchase orders which are below vender price (there is also a bug which allows soulbound items to be placed on TP).

I always sell in quantities of 5-10 even if I have 1000 items to sell. This way I have sold quickly even in a long list of thousands.

As for the issue of allowing people to buy and sell below vender price, why not? Doing so does not generate anymore money than if a person were to vender the item themselves, and actually has the bonus of creating a 15% money sink based on the items sale price.

it can be as low as 6.00 to as high as 8.50 in the US, varies by state, and if you are a waiter, bartender, etc it can be as low as 2.13 per hour.

I would think ANet would base it on the countries average cost of living.

delete all the player sent mail (gold selling spam) out of your mail box. You have a limit of 10 mails so it maybe backed up and waiting for you to delete old mail.

they also tend to log out right after an event or when the fighting stops and log in a minute or two later, stay in game for about a minute, if no combat log out.

Others tend to follow the same path and fight anything they can aggro, and others still just teleport around to the mobs.

Do not be afraid to report people from botting. If ANet is too busy to take care of bots that have been in the same area for more than a week, they are not going to care if you accidentally report a few legit players.

how about people just man up and either let their items sit at 1 copper above the lowest price or cancel their listing and relist at 1 copper below the lowest sale order.

Really, unless someone just posted 100+ of that item at one copper below theirs, their item will sell quickly if it is only 1 copper above lowest pricing.

What people are really complaining about is being undercut by multiple people and for that, relist your item and take the hit in the listing price if it worries you about not selling quickly.

For 50 dollars in gems converted into gold you can buy 1 of all the rare dyes and then buy up the ones that cost less than a silver… and still have gold left over. The dye packs are really overpriced considering how cheap 99% of the dyes are.

I used to run a bot program with Aion and it was insanely complex.

I could map out a whole path for my character, block out certain areas to avoid, even list names of mobs to attack and stay away from.

I even had waypoints listed so my character would mine specific resource nodes.

I am sure 3 years later bots have gotten a little more complex, but yes, I recognize bots almost instantly the way they move and fight and they are everywhere especially the mid level zones.

It’s a shame none of the engineer items have racial counterparts.

Sylvari, Asurian, etc, all use the same model which is boring.

Sort by “usable” is not really needed if we get a sort by type option.

We really need a sort by type (light, medium, heavy). There are many times I buy armor for the next 10 levels, so a sort by usable would not be useful when I am looking for armor for later levels.

With a sort by armor type and the current ability to sort by level, you get your usable button.

If anyone can do this, and you can outbid them, what is the issue?

with a global market I do not see why you would need to horde so much in a standard inventory.

Sell your excess, buy what you need. Keep doing this and you won’t have inventory issues.

you don’t even need to sell high.

Just make sure you get more than 20% back from the original purchase price.

By constantly selling you make more than trying to constantly undercut by 1 copper.
