Fractals - Old infusions are useless...

I spent near 2k gold on getting an extra 80+ stats with infusions so I could have max possible gear in Fractals and an Advantage over 99% of other players in WvW. Now it only benefits me in WvW.

lol you could have spent 500 on a 2nd set and bought wvw infusions for it, and used 7 ar infusions in your fractal set.

save 1.5k gold and be better in wvw for cheaper. in fact, its extremely rare that the gear you want for fractals is the same gear you want for wvw and youre better off building a 2nd set anyways so you can have a better stat distribution and better runes/sigils.

plus if you bought a toon slot for 250 of that 1.5k, you wouldnt even have to gear swap every time, and die a little inside every time you use the wrong gear.

150 LI is nothing for people who like raids. They don’t raid for the LI, they raid for fun, for the challenge, whatever.

Raids will continue to exist for a lot longer than you will.

i like raids and dont raid for LI, i raid for fun or the other loot or to have something different to do. requiring 150 at <10/week is too much. i have the dedication, i have the time to raid, i have the willpower to get them all. but its kittening miserable and it will take way too long, no matter if i do 5 bosses each week or 9.

So getting each boss down 3 times is not enough to prove experience? LOL. Well how many is..10..20? The example I gave showed a guy with 60 li’s couldn’t even repeatedly make it to the green circles on VG, causing the rest of us to wipe several times. As far as I’m concerned if you get the boss down once successfully, that is experience enough.

The idea that 30 LI’s is not enough to show you can succeed is absurd. They should be taken as a simple indicator that you have reasonable experience at encountering the fights. But to dismiss someone for simply having 30 LI’s is ridiculous and that is not a group I would want to play in. Not only that, people can post LI code links in chat that are complete BS. Hence 9/10 I make my own groups and get all the bosses I attempt down.

3 kills per boss is definitely not enough to be considered “experienced”. 3 kills per boss is what experienced people do in a single week
Personally I probably got more than 500 raid boss kills so far and still not perfect

that is crazy talk. plain and simple. your view is skewed. you’ve done whatever you’ve done and it feels normal to you, but it isn’t normal, it’s hardcore. and you feel that “experienced” must be something more than what you think is normal when in fact the only thing more hardcore than doing what you’ve done is going for records.

lol by the time you kill a boss 3 times, you can do it again in a max of 5 pulls if the other 9 people also have 3x+ kill experience. the learning curve is all during the time spent getting the first kill.

Pointless grind for me is farming sw over and over again or doing similar things. Raidbosses, however, are the most fun content in the game for me and are not a grind at all, and if it would be 300 inisghts it would still be ok for me because the time until i have the required amount of insights is fun.

One of the biggest issues you can introduce into an MMO is creating a ‘grind’ that is efficient for something like currency. Silverwastes is a problem child, it gives way too much for so little effort, and people will mindlessly grind it without even touching other content. At least until they get bored of the game and leave as either they won’t put the effort into other content that doesn’t pay out at the same level. GW2 would be better off if Silverwastes were outright removed from the game as it promotes an unhealthy relationship between the player and the game in general.

It would be one thing if Silverwastes were brought down to a level where you can only get the most rewards from it daily much like how the HoT Metas work now, but you can literally spend hours everyday there. That’s why it’s a grind, and it’s also why it is pointless to have in this game. Asking for more content like Silverwastes is asking for a Korean MMO.

There’s an idea, let’s have Vinewrath kill rewards be a daily reward, a good start to stopping the endless train.

lets also gate a set of legendary trinkets behind getting 500 drops from the daily rewards for doing sw, dry top, and the HoT metas. dont worry, the drops are guaranteed and the trinkets will require 100 each, so you can work on them one at a time to break it up and get a trinket every 2.3 weeks. plus you have a choice in which map you do, so you dont have to do the ones you hate the most, but thats gonna make the process take a little longer.

Done! That is an easy timegate to pull off. I know you are trying to be snarky, but when most of the Ascended Trinkets are gated behind Laurels, have an trinket that can literally change its stats on the fly that I can get in under 3 weeks if I do different open-world content daily? Whereas I would have to wait about a Month per Accessory if I don’t get Guild Commendations? I can then spend my laurels on those really hard to get T6 materials, Powerful Bloods needed to drop in price anyways!

I can ignore getting the rings, those drop literally everywhere and Fractals give them out a dime a dozen, so honestly getting 2 Legendary Accessories and a Legendary Amulet would be about 300 tokens, or just 50 days. And it gets people going into all the zones if they want to max their tokens earned.

Good game buddy, you clearly have a grasp on what we need to balance Legendary Rewards out!

don’t forget each will require a gift of t6 mats. and they’ll have stats you can currently only acquire in raids, dungeons, lw s2, and a couple that just plain don’t exist, so rings are actually worth having too.

additionally, doing all 6 maps every day will likely take all of your play time. and doing the collections associated with the set will take you a couple days at most, so all you’re waiting on is doing metas over and over and over. but yeah since you like doing metas over and over and over, np.

lol f gyro goes underground pretty frequently and cant be cc’d by things that arent aoes… and has a stability stack.

when it isnt successful for me, its cuz the enemy is cleaving their downed and it dies.

no, it isnt worth it in pve. pve is even more focused on using multihit skills cuz those are frequently the ones that do the most raw dps. and in open world, which would be the best argument for something like this, you dont need the survivability. instead, spam more blinds. engi has a lot of blind.

It looks really bad if 90% of the class fails, you can bet your bottom dollar that the coarse will be changed and/or bell curved in some way after.

This is only done in worst case scenarios where a course evaluation is actually unfair and broken. This would only be a close analogy if the majority of average raiders are only getting 1-2 insights per week, which is not the case according to you.

I have seen college courses bell-curve slightly below average grades to make them above average or excellent grades (which is basically what you’re asking for here). That’s a disgusting practice that should never be done in University/College.

some professors will just write problems in such a way that the problem would be hard even for themselves on the assumption that students will only pass 10-50% of the testing material and curve it so the class average is a passing grade. its not a worst case scenario, its just the prof lording his ego over you. so you just have to do your best and show him you tried hard and hell take that into account. i hate classes like that, for the record, but theyre there.

The point about it being a “worst case scenario” is that rarely actually happens. The proportion of professors flaunting their ego is small.

Out of 7 years of University and Grad school, I only really had one or two courses that fit that description. For most students, that’s the same proportion.

nowadays the good engi builds rely on multihit skills mostly.

i used to use crusader amulet in pvp to great effect, in the days of cele rifle engi. people rarely expected the burst from jump shot, blunderbuss, and pry bar all critting. but hot power creeped everything and it would be pretty bad today.

Celestial Gear and WvW

builds have drifted. elite specs are op nearly across the board, and ours is very very power oriented. the more you use hammer, the more you win fights, and hammer has no condis… so the larger stat budget of cele goes to waste to some extent, putting it more on par with the 4 stat combos… and then those 4 stat combos are more focused and marauder/demolisher/paladin are pretty natural power stats when you want to mix offense and defense.

additionally, scrapper can barely afford to take an offensive spec line because there will be gaping holes in your build without alchemy (irreplacable) or inventions/tools (pretty kitten core). explosives and firearms bring a lot of condi stuff that a cele build needs to be able to put out enough pressure to kill someone.

Which are the best runes?

What is your stat layout? It depends entirely on that. If you’re running Viper’s for instance I would suggest you stick with berserker. If you’re intentionally limiting yourself to poison for some reason then Rune of Thorns (but that probably is not BiS) and if you’re running a cheaper high crit (Rampager? Sinister?) build then Krait where you can’t sustain high amounts of burning then Krait simply because bleed applications with the rotation are pretty simple to get and stacking high is very easy.

But it really depends on your condition duration without those runes. Keep in mind that poison, unlike bleeding and burning, gets no trait help so while you get +33% to both bleeding and burning by just taking a trait and actually just choosing the Firearms trait line automatically gives you the bleeding. If you’re choosing Thorns AND Viper’s you’re gimping yourself.

if you ignore the poison duration on thorns and just look at the extra damage you get from the stacks, its about the same as the damage you get from berserker runes. in (nearly) full viper, you can easily contort your gears stats to cap out burning and bleeding with the traits without overcapping. that leaves poison uncapped, and condi engi has some poison, so going thorn runes will cap out a 3rd condi and also give about the same damage on the other 2 condis that get capped regardless.

sooooo it kinda depends on the situation. you need to be getting hit and you need to be in a fairly long fight for thorn runes to match/surpass berserker runes. in short bursty fights or fights where you get 1 shot or fights where you dont get hit at all you wont be able to take advantage of thorns and berserker will be better. which situation more accurately describes your play?

a good 4 kit engi in a mix of rabid/viper/trailblazer can solo just about anything while maintaining high dps and not being squishy like a power engi has to be, but a necro in the same gear will need to put about 1/4 of the effort into doing the same thing.

what if each armor required 10 LI instead of 25, and to replace the missing grind, each piece also required 5 of the decoration currency parts from 3 bosses. you know, gorseval tentacle pieces and such. so like in order to build your legendary, theres still a time gate, but its not anywhere near as kittening miserable, and you still need to be good enough at every boss to collect 10 of its unique drops (9×10 = 90 = 6×15 → for say boots/shoulders, collect 5 of each thingy from each 1st boss in wing 1/2/3. hats/gloves → collect 5 from each 2nd boss. coats/legs → collect 5 from each 3rd boss). then, wherever we need to have li to craft the thing, instead make a recipe for a gift requiring:

  • 10 li
  • 5×3 boss pieces

this is arguably harder to do than acquiring 150 li. by the time you get 60 li, you know what your doing and the only thing the other 90 take is time. there is no learning curve after even getting only 1-3 li from a particular boss. and in fact, you can learn 1-3 bosses and skip the rest. it just takes a really miserably long time. but if you gotta turn in a few of those unique drops from each boss, you are required to have a bit of mastery over each boss. you dont get your legendary coat without beating sabetha, matthias, and xera. etc etc. showing off a full set of armor means youve killed everything the raid has to offer multiple times and also done it quite a lot to get the 60 li. but it doesnt take 4 months minimum.

the potential is already here to make the journey anything but a simple time gate, and what i, personally, am asking for is not necessarily a reduction in the effort required to acquire the armor, but (again) i do not want to look back on the experience of crafting my armor and say “man, li were really kittening miserable and dragged out this experience” the way i already do for ad infinitum and ascension (and provisioner tokens).

Lets try to clarify this once more, why are you even on this form topic?

You have nothing to lose or gain from changes to LI if you even remotely close to the 150 LI.

Reason we are here is because the time gate is absolutely non-nonsensical to all other aspects of the collection and other content. If they dropped the ball on the rest of the collection and crafting, thats not a counter point.

Anyone that thinks that raid pugs aren’t completely random and massively time consuming with random results based on nothing more then luck is kidding themselves. In the video he made it pretty clear it was random, 2-3h on a VG and no kill……

Then assume that can happen on all the bosses, and you got yourself a nightmare of a challenge to get all 9 in 1 week. This week I got VG on first try, I spent 5h+ on 3 different parties for Matt listed under experienced and got nothing.

If you don’t want to work for the legendary weapon then you don’t deserve it. That’s what it has pretty much come down to. You just don’t want to put in the work for six legendary items.

Let’s make all items in the game available with the click of a button for everyone. Nobody should complain since they stand to not gain or lose anything from it. See how nonsensical that reasoning is? Never mind the fact that you did a double negative essentially contradicting your argument.

it isnt really less work, just less time. if each required ~10 LI instead of 25, you would still have to be a successful raider to complete your armor. but the crafting process wouldnt be drawn out by nearly an extra order of magnitude more than everything else in the game.

no. i dont care how much effort i have to put into making a legendary, because i expect it to be giant. what i care about is having fun while doing so and not looking back on the experience and thinking “this was kittening miserable” the way i do with the ad infinitum and ascension daily time gates. LI are exactly the same, but drawn out by nearly another order of magnitude.

What about the other 50 achievements? You have to beat everything, and multiple times at that not even counting LI to get anywhere near the armor.

Time gates are there to prove…umm… that you have put a minimum amount of time into the game. I don’t even have that much of an issue with the 150 LI, but the ability to fairly acquire them should be present, something a weekly reset does not do.

yeah. the time gate is the last thing that gets done because it takes too long. we have the opportunity to bash our heads against the metaphorical wall for 4 months worth of attempts at simply beating the rest of the bosses before any other single thing holds us back, and beating the bosses can be achieved within a couple weeks even if you suck. having to do it over and over and over and over doesnt make it interesting, it is the grind anet wants to avoid.

the fractal journals are the same. you can do everything but the 2 week time gate in each collection easily in 1 night even if you are bad, and then you sit on your kitten doing stupidly brainless low level fractals for 2 weeks before you can unlock the next collection and do a few more interesting / different things in 1 night again.

ascension is the same. the bulk of the meta achievements can be done in 1-4 days, except for the 15 day time gate that has you playing 3 per day. by the time you hit the 15th day, youve been done with the rest of that meta for a week minimum.

it isnt fun or legendary to do a menial repetitive task over and over for weeks or months, and the addition of these things to legendaries to prevent the top 10% of the richest players from completing legendaries quickly just because they got good at playing the game is a step backwards.

I am player who is really ill rl. I like to play raids but i cant take part to pro raid guild , due to rl “rotation” . I manage to get 3-4 li per week if try hard. Should i also give up on legi armor coz im not capable of following the pace. I wish i could have chance but this number i know is to much for me. Its just how i feel wanted to say , wish u all gl.

I dont think Anet should go to the lowest possible denominator when it comes to legendary items. Besides if you can get only 4 LI (which is basically just the easiest bosses you can do) per week you still have 150 LI after just 37,5 weeks.

It is only 9 months for the bad people. I kill all 9 bosses on several accounts because it is so easy compared to raids in other games.

I bet after 1 week you would be tired of going up against the strong server. .

Wrong m8. Best week i had was when mag was going up against tc/db when the server links came about. we were outmatched but it was action all day. Now being the top in t3 is a snooze.

if you say so.

in my experience, its fun for about a day. then you lose your reset night waypoints. then every time your home bl has 2 keeps your color, a zerg 2x the size of your biggest group in eb wanders in and flips whatever has no upgrades and all the keeps for kicks. then half your server leaves for pve for the week because you have no waypoints, not having waypoints is a real mood killer.

sure, its still fun to roam around enemy bls and take camps, especially if you have a few friends to wander around with. and youll prolly manage to keep your eb keep most of the time, just cuz it usually isnt worth attempting. but the only decent maps will be enemy bls, which cuts out half the play space and half the playstyles. maybe it doesnt cut out yours.

While I don’t disagree with your sentiments, you miss the main issue.

That issue is this; ANET set out a prize which was to be available to “everyone.” The league and achievement structure has been set up in a way that contradicts that.

Sure, one needs to meet the requirements. However, ANET promoted a prize as available to all. Therefore, the company has an obligation to make the requirements such that all can get it.

it is available to everyone. but its not meant to be had by everyone. thats why it has hoops to jump through.

I bet after 1 week you would be tired of going up against the strong server.

I like winner up, loser down … variety in matches, but we would see very volitile matchs every odd week.

But that’s the game, some weeks you will get crushed, some weeks you will crush others … and every now and then you get pitted in some fair fights.

and we don’t see blowouts now without 1 up 1 down? at least there would some variety…

These guys have the right idea. I could care less to go against a strong server. that means a lot of action. mix it up ANET

we’ve tried WULD back in the wvw tournaments. it was no better than glicko matchmaking.

server mergers were never intended to promote balance. they were intended to promote perceived activity, and they have done so. wvw feels more crowded. other things that arent out yet will promote balance.

It was done to promote balance and higher population all around instead of some servers because completely dead 22 hours a day. If it wasn’t done to promote balance, they could have just linked random servers together like FA and Maguuma and caused choas with inbalance. But they didn’t.

if they had done it for balance, they wouldn’t have left t1 open for transfers, nor would they have even linked t1 servers. but they did.

Raids are NOW accessible

The only downside is that this fight seems to encourage stacking of a single class (eles) even more than other raid wings, but that’s more of a balance issue than a raid encounter issue.

This is really just a function of the elementalist class, which is why eles are used in almost every fight. They deal the most damage, provide some utility with fire/water fields, have an amazing heal skill, deal their damage in an aoe, and deal their damage from range. Against large hitboxes they deal 25% more damage than the next highest build…which is the other elementalist build lol. Unless the class itself is changed, it’s going to take one of a few specific types of boss fights to make ele stacking not the best way to down a boss.

the utility provided by fire fields is erased by the multitude of other field spam from whoever isnt an ele and the fact that everyone prefers to use professions that can stack might passively instead of blasting fire actively.

same goes for water. everyone just takes a healer instead of bothering to blast water.

Fire fields are going to be up most of the time if you have 3+ eles spamming lava font. Also, they are one of the three fields that provide a DPS increase for whirl and projectile finishers, so having one up constantly is useful even if you aren’t blasting.

And yeah blasting water is probably not happening, but ele also just has decent healing skills, regardless of fields. Overload water means that your DPS class can also become an emergency healer, and there are a few other healing skills as well depending on weapon set.

The point is that ele provides top tier DPS and has so much else going for it that it’s extremely difficult to make fights where stacking eles is not a good strategy. Currently the only fights where taking 3+ eles isn’t good are Matthias and VG. Against Matthias fresh air ele stacking would be the meta if necros didn’t completely destroy him with condi manipulation, and against VG you need condi damage for the split phase. Even so, two eles on those fights isn’t uncommon at all. Every other fight you could take 4 eles and it would be a good comp.

It isn’t a problem with the design of the raids, it’s a result of the fact that the classes weren’t designed with raids in mind. Skills like lava font and epidemic are ridiculously hard to design around when it comes to making every class desirable in a raid. The flexibility provided by eles having 4 skill sets with vastly different themes can’t help either.

my point is that bringing an ele because of its field types isnt a good justification any more. it used to be a good justification. but HoT made it not matter and fields have been marginalized and people dont care.

its not bad to use combos, but its not necessary in any raiding experience. because they either give nominal dps increases or an effect you dont care about or someone else can (passively) do it faster and or with less effort than anyone trying to use a combo.

Why I don't have any sympathy

I main warrior and don’t know how to play anything else and I got to ruby season 1 SOLO when It was trash, season 2 SOLO when it was trash, and Diamond now season 3 SOLO when it is good but not even the best and I got my Legendary done. And I am not even that good.

So I have really no sympathy for the people complaing, I bet you would never have been able to get to ruby in S1 on a warrior if you can’t get to ruby on your OP class.

I got midway through Sapphire in s2 on a warrior in six days despite having virtually never played sPvP before (apart from getting to rank 20 through primarily hotjoin matches). I’m nearly Diamond this season, solo.

You don’t deserve the wings any more than I do, but because you happened to actually play in season 1 and 2, you have them, and I don’t. According to his post he doesn’t play anything but warrior.

He can’t get the wings. I believe you need 50 wins on all 9 professions as part of the legendary journey. Unless they changed that rule. According to his post he doesn’t play anything but warrior.

And honestly, it should, although I’m sure it’s a difficult metric to figure out.

yeah it should but there are about 3 uses for personal score:

  1. grant achievement/reward track progress for participation
  2. tiebreak
  3. identify carries

it currently suffices for 1 and 2, but 3 requires intelligence to identify anyone who isnt a +1er. i dont think making the scoring system intelligent would be worth anets time.

all other time gates are under ~2 months

a ~4 month minimum time gate is too much. the gate should be viewed as a gate on the entire set, because the entire set is what is supposed to be equivalent to a weapon. on a per piece basis, the gate isnt too bad, but you cannot work on 2-6 pieces concurrently, you can only work on 1 at a time. and thats an issue.

We’re talking about the map structure itself.

There isn’t going to be any intrusive work done… if I recall correctly their methodology for DBL was to make low cost changes with big impact. This was justified by “because it is a live game”.

I’d wager that if we want a larger overhaul, which takes more than a trivial amount of dev time, it will not happen before bulk of the priority changes we voted are well underway, released or close to being released. Even then if they stick to their mantra it would not happen unless there was a poll and it was voted for. Structural overhaul of the map certainly qualifies as a major change.

So, until such a time the kind of changes we will likely see are the sort of stuff we have already seen or already know about.

THAT was why players wanted it to go back to Beta. The topography had to be made playable for all classes in all zones and that isn’t going to happen if it stays in the live game. Now it isn’t going to go back to beta because that was never an option to actually make the map playable for a PvP zone for all classes…

what classes arent playable cuz of topography?

I know Rev CoR doesn’t work on kitten near any unlevel ground. Unless that’s been fixed within the last couple of months.

sounds like something that the wvw team doesnt need to be held responsible for. specifically, that is the realm of the balance team. and they seem more interested in pvp, where this is easily also an issue.

time to make the hitbox fully 3d.

So, you’re saying everyone involved in making the DBL and all 4 HoT maps and creating a new class was oblivious to this?

yeah prolly. balance isnt their department.

maybe the proper people with the knowledge or connections dont even play rev in a zerg. maybe it works on the dev client. maybe its been addressed for the next quarterly update but theyre tightlipped as usual, especially if its a thing on the known issue tracker. maybe not.

I would have thought it was the fault of both, class designers for making aoe abilities that don;t work when the topography changes and map designers for not designing maps in accordance with the was the combat engine works. The PvE maps must have similar issues due to their complex topography.

its the fault of whoever designed the skill’kittenbox. they didnt take topography into account, they made the hit box 2d, and they made it end at walls (good) OR when the terrain at a certain elevation ends (bad). had they made it a rectangular prism instead of a line, it could be more resilient, but would prolly need some upgrade in tech on the back end to actually show the ground animations properly.

the map designers have nothing to do with that, they are making the world prettier and more interesting by adding slopes or different levels to play on and doing their jobs exceedingly well, but prolly need to converse with hardcore wvw players and or the wvw dev team about how to incorporate the elements that make a map fun to fight other players on instead of just to wander around and look at.

When designing a map for a PvP game mode, they need to think about how every inch of that map works to benefit each of the classes play styles and skills to enhance the player experience and game play. That is how you make a great map rather than just a “meh” map. The " pretty skin" is the after thought for enhancing game play for a PvP game mode. They should bring in the " pretty skin team" after they already have the topography and objectives of the map designed to benefit the game play. The aesthetics should only be added as long as they do not interfere with game play in any way. Otherwise they are designing the map backwards.

How " pretty" a map is in a PvP zone should be the afterthought. The primary focus should have been the player experience out of spawn until the player leaves that map. The map is supposed to be designed to keep players engaged in nonstop PvP action the entire time they are on it every class, every skill. You worry about the skin after that is taken care of, and ONLY if it doesn’t interfere with game play. You don’t put even a tree there if it is going to block skill usage. Pretty <Playable.

If every class was tested properly on the map to enhance their player experience they would have known this already.

A map should start focused on the player experience straight out of spawn, 3 seconds hit an objective, why do you want to fight over that objective? ( have to have a good reason to want to fight over objectives, both personal and for the team) How does that objective increase game play of each class in the game? How does each classes skills work to their benefit in that zone? What strategic value does that objective have to other objectives? Can the objective be attacked from multiple directions in numerous ways to increase strategic options? Is there enough space to fight in the area for all types of combat? 3 seconds.. next objective.. rinse and repeat. The DBL was the opposite of that. The game play and player experience was an after thought when it is the skin that should be the afterthought.

If they had designed it that way from the beginning, there would not be a hit box problem.

On the Validity of WvW surveys

Hey guys, since I’m seeing this topic pop up a lot, I wanted to step in and clear up some misconceptions.

1. Nearly every player that voted, plays WvW at least somewhat regularly.

2. Whether they play 1 hour a week, or dozens of hours a week, the breakdown between people who voted ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ remains very constant around the 65/35 split.

3. The in-game poll notification mail is only sent to players who are actively playing WvW. They must be at least rank 10, and have ranked up while the poll was running.

oh cool.

im glad you guys take this seriously enough to make additional ways to break down the data that is (obviously) linked to our account information and all the metrics routinely taken on our play time.

out of curiosity, do you have a way to sift out obvious multiple accounts where for example a person has 30 alt accounts for farming laurels and attempts to skew the vote with his 29 extra votes or is something like that even statistically significant?

I know Rev CoR doesn’t work on kitten near any unlevel ground. Unless that’s been fixed within the last couple of months.

sounds like something that the wvw team doesnt need to be held responsible for. specifically, that is the realm of the balance team. and they seem more interested in pvp, where this is easily also an issue.

time to make the hitbox fully 3d.

So, you’re saying everyone involved in making the DBL and all 4 HoT maps and creating a new class was oblivious to this?

yeah prolly. balance isnt their department.

maybe the proper people with the knowledge or connections dont even play rev in a zerg. maybe it works on the dev client. maybe its been addressed for the next quarterly update but theyre tightlipped as usual, especially if its a thing on the known issue tracker. maybe not.

We’re talking about the map structure itself.

There isn’t going to be any intrusive work done… if I recall correctly their methodology for DBL was to make low cost changes with big impact. This was justified by “because it is a live game”.

I’d wager that if we want a larger overhaul, which takes more than a trivial amount of dev time, it will not happen before bulk of the priority changes we voted are well underway, released or close to being released. Even then if they stick to their mantra it would not happen unless there was a poll and it was voted for. Structural overhaul of the map certainly qualifies as a major change.

So, until such a time the kind of changes we will likely see are the sort of stuff we have already seen or already know about.

THAT was why players wanted it to go back to Beta. The topography had to be made playable for all classes in all zones and that isn’t going to happen if it stays in the live game. unfortunately, most condi builds these days have trash condis that will bait your generosity and most builds that can use generosity hit and crit more than enough to proc it very quickly, meaning that most of the time you will not see meaningful use out of it.

back when perplexity wasnt yet nerfed, it was a totally different time and it was a much better sigil to have and i loved transferring 5-15 stacks of confusion back to a person and watching them just melt. but ever since specializations came out it just hasnt been a very good choice and id rather have cleansing or maybe purity or a different sigil.

You can click on the poster to target it and get the Interact option even if the game things you’re facing an NPC or they’re closer.

Thank you so much. I feel stupid for not trying that.

In general it’s better not to. Doing it in combat is seen as much the same as keyboard turning or clicking your skills to activate them. You can but you really shouldn’t so it’s best not to do it outside of combat either to break the habit.

But it’s one habit I’ve never been able to break (it’s the main reason I don’t use Action Camera much) and very occasionally it does come in useful.

errr there isnt a better way to grab a non-enemy target in combat, i do this all the time

i wouldnt say im a pro pvper or anything but you gotta use what you can as quickly as you can, and if interacting with an object (or selecting a downed ally) is gonna win the fight for you, you sure as hell better click on it/them and get the target that tab ignores!

eh, they arent useless but when a pug group is at 8/10 with all the other roles filled, they ask for tempests, not engis or thieves or dhs or anything else that does “fine” dps but is 2nd place. because they are 2nd place, not 1st.

have you seen how much kitten a guy takes for running power engi at gors even though its as good as or better than condi in the absence of 2+ reapers? i suggest you try it.
