axe 1 would be fine if you could actually keep that cripple from #3 on target, now it’s better switch to DS #1 and go for a kill (hopefully). People remove cripple or dodge out of range pretty fast so once that happens your axe #1 will be useless. It sure is useful for extra vuln stacking but our vuln stacking is pretty pathetic except maybe little spike at start. your target should be dead already when you get to use axe #1 vuln stacking or you are most likely dead before him.

on the other hand minions are not dependant on your stats so you can max tank and minions still do max dmg. or have whatever build you want and minions don’t care. how about that.

i do agree that minions should have order to attack and deaggro though since AI doesn’t do it even half decently.

You cannot and you shouldn’t win against much greater numbers even if they were dumb. Numbers should matter to some point. At least in most situtations that is. So any kind of penalties or massive aoe is really really really bad idea and in most cases just creates opposite efffect tbh. Again like usually I’d like to point out titans of mass destruction in eve-o for reference.

However like I think I said earlier it should be good idea to do something else than go around in big groups, it’s like at least 10 times more profitable gold wise to just go with the karmatrain. And so people do. Also there is very little to do than that unless you just happen to like soloing or whatsoever. This should see a change. If you’re good at soloing (other than just loltrolling with a thief) or small group you should see some rewards too. And it should matter to your whole wvw.

In my guild almost all wvw action has vanished, probably since it’s easy to just go and follow karmatrains, not try to be in a skilled group or whatever. Just mindless grinding.

necros have a lot of viable stun breakers they just have 0 value when you run into stun/daze/fear whatever. you can use your stun breakers but there’s still more of it coming your way before your CD’s are gone. without stability there’s very little you can do about it. I even tried that DS stability but it’s just way too short and it heavily depends on you actually having some life force at first place, not to mention you got to sacrifice that stability in builds which would actually benefit from it most.

dhuumfire should be simply removed like asap without further pingpong ideastorming.

30/x/x/x/30 seems most reliable at the moment. I just use full berserker gear in pvp but in wvw i have switched from full zerk to pvt/earth runes + ascended zerk jewelry.

Vampiric doesn’t really work so well you’d notice big difference.

Scrap staff and run with d/w + a/f you’ll lose staff fear but nothing what you should be focusing on. If you want extra fear you can slot like for example: spectral wall, spectral armor, spectral walk it gives you nice survivability as long as you can keep up your life force.

full pvt gear works really well if you focus on being really tanky with wells and such but it’s not good for solo, not enough damage to kill single or more targets at same time i.e. 1v2 or 1v3.

Only sad thing is limited stability necros get so you can probably pwnzor anything except eles which have imba access to like everything very annoying to you. i.e. remove boon = lol i put on new one, fear = lol i has stability, dps = lol i has heals

also some new people have sudden need to grind ap yeah.

it’s annoying to get teamed up with some rank 1 guys who just leave or whatsoever or don’t even know the map.

please limit ranked matches to rank 15+ or something i think you get there in a day or so since first ranks come fast.

i’d like to clear out

capturing camp usually gives you 1-2 badges and i guess occassional veteran can drop some too. finishing jp gives you around 5. even if you dont zerg you get easily 30 badges a day without even trying too much. and if you bother to go on karmatrain occassionally you get easily 500 badges a week or so.

i am personally spending all those badges on new exotic gears. TOO BAD I AM RUNNING OUT OF BANK SPACE AND THE WON’T LET ME BUY MORE THAN 8 TABS.

Anet clearly meant WvW to be a bit like alliance battles in GW1 so supercasual.

They did wvw like it is now either knowingly or they just simply refused to listen any very good visions how it will be like this what it is now.

It is pretty much unrealistic to expect that the current WvW game mode will ever be anything else, even though we can put up suggestions and wishes how it could be less blobby and such so you could casually go pvp there and actually have fun instead of getting rolled over by karmatrain.

In my opinion there are few things to consider like for example:
- less supply and supply camps really should have 0 supply when flipped, really.
- towers and such less easy to flip but more other small objectives to cap. Currently you can only cap camps when you don’t have enough ppl to even build a ram.
- cap for how many blasts you can put on combo field, i’d say 1.
- less aoe, not to say remove all sensible aoe but for example melee cleaves or whatanot so you actually need to pick one target and hit him instead of lol #1
- change loot mechanics for wvw. zerging should not be rewarded in particular. make money grinders go in dungeons.
- remove ability to use waypoint unless dead. magical teleporting is way too fast.

currently wvw maps are almost empty when not prime time cos everyone checks in but goes away when they cannot even cap a camp alone since upped guards are so insanely strong against single guy.

ETC.

also now when mobility mentioned wvw builds are way too dependent on having permaswiftness as it is. give everyone wvw swiftness skill which applies a boon what can be removed or whatever. because unless you have swiftness you get rolled over with permaswiftness INVISIBLE zerg when roaming. Or random thief in that matter, not even going that closer to stealth topics here.

burning was too much with all added other stuff and it was too hasty to put it in. current dhummfire crap is just faceroll.

other changes were pretty much “necessary” not only to condibuilds but power builds too. way too many people think necros are all conditions when very good portion of necros play full berserker glass cannons etc.

at this point i’d like to point out other condispammers are equally very strong in pvp if someone bothers to play them.

it’s just people rather go olol max dmg zerk build fyuu condi removal and then complain about dying on condis.

compared to other classes it’s far away from being super powerful. useful maybe, you can pick something else and not be sad panda.

but honestly unless you can do some kind of weakness/“sustainable” blind with your necro you’re going to be a bit squishy since there’s no vigor/regen/protection/evades or blocks whatever other classes get when traited that way with similar level of traits.

DS already has access to things like retaliation, aoe weakness and stability which are all pretty strong effects. The one could argue that stability is a tad bit difficult to get since it overlaps some other seemingly essential traits but okay I can live without stability.

I’d love to see more effects necro could get when they enter DS though. Like protection or regen when DS ends etc. Would be useful when you go for tanky stuff. Or maybe even more cc/offensive effects too whatever for more diversity.

Just giving some max this and that/invulnerability would be way too powerful though.

Help vs. Thieves

I’d say generally do more damage than they do and they die pretty fast., doesn’t matter if it’s conditions or just raw berserker love, just remember they seem to have easier access to counter conditions than raw dmg. If you can’t do much dmg you’re most likely going to lose in any case.

Do a “litte” bit damage then try to cc/fear whatever just when they realize they’re going to die and do a little more dmg and they usually die when they stealth and you put ds #5 and ds#4 on them.

Somewhat superdupernonpro lazymode but works in 90% of cases in WvW.

Plague Signet Worthless - Anyone Use it?

Plague signet is somewhat useful, but I’ve only used in dungeons etc. harder pve content when team needs condition removal.

I can see it could be useful in premade tpvp team, in wvw maybe not so much because “lol” you eat immobilize in middle of slugfest and die.

Anyway it’s far from being totally worthless, situtational a lot maybe.

compared to spvp in wvw thieves are way more powerful because of trolling stealth

- they get insane pve food buffs and imba ascended gear which kind of breaks all balance there
- stealth is extremely powerful against almost any class not only because they can just escape but also because very many important skills need targets so you can keep sustaining your health for example, in many cases they dont even need to do much damge just wear you out. good example would be waiting necro DS to reach <10% so they can’t use it anymore. or prevent mesmer doing their clone tricks, stop warrior gaining adrenaline etc. etc. or just pull kittening op polar bears on you.
- They can invi stomp/revive and even kittening resurrect their dead buddy while you cannot see them, really… i mean really really…

in spvp they cant do these things so much since there’s only 1 gear no insane foods etc., timer, cap points, less space to run and overall people are build to fight them better in general.

it’s not that they’re insanely op i do kill all bad thieves and sometimes even good ones, but thief in general seems to be easymode pvp. personally i hate most of invisibility in wvw in general too, invizerg 50vs1 anyone? 1 more sec reveal was a bit better now you can at least try something.

Fact is that siege engines do not need refreshing. Game will keep running without them.

Also “casual” player is a dumb term. WvW is open to everyone and every playstyle no one is required to do anything just for you. People can fool around as much as they want and is so many ways they can imagine. It’s not all build sieges, defend this castle no matter the cost until your head explodes.

blast finishers + water + fire + static = op in zerg. it comes with ability to create “overstacking” (my english lol) etc. effect with so many finishers and numbers in zerg.

it’s also effective in small group but it actually requires more teamwork and maybe a tiny little bit of thinking. in general i think in small group (less than kittening 10) it works like it should.

Currently camps don’t seem to work in sensible way that would be fun to small groups. Really.

1. They should not give full supply when capped. There should be 0 supply and first you would have “zero upgrade” you need to build before you can start gaining supply. This would make flipping camps with zerg balls less effective since you would need to defend camps to get any supply at all.
2. Upped NPC’s are too strong. What’s specially bad with them it makes outmanned server even suffer more. You have maybe 2-3 guys on map and you probably can’t even take your home camp since NPC’s will kitten you over. Moreso even there’s even one defender, and people holding most of map will have no problem jumping to you from T3 upped keep and waypoints when they spot swords. Strong NPC’s will do absolutely nothing against zerg balls or even a bit larger groups. What they do is kitten over small groups and encourage zerging.

Spectral wall takes one utility slot unlike guardian wall which is weapon slot. If you sacrifice your utility slot for one movement limiting skill which is easy to spot I think it’s pretty much fair trade and balanced as far as I see.

Even if I play guardian also I’d rather complain about guardian GS/hammer thunderdome combo and what it does to necro with no stability.

I think it’s fine to get blue/green whatever trash loot from trash and in general it’s pretty balanced overall COMPARED TO risk, which is non-existant usually. Just think about quaranteed rare drops from world bosses you get from pressing #1. As long as you don’t miss that spawn window which is funny.

Here’s few things I would like to see:
- PVE World boss events will take a long event chain so people can actually notice them and catch up, instead of checking some website for timer. Every event in chain would have reward enough so you feel that it’s profitable to do whole chain instead of waiting for boss to spawn. Even if you would miss the final boss for some reason you might also get a little reward.
- Dungeon explorable modes should be level 80, also dungeons should have more unique and useful rewards, also like consumables or crafting mats etc.
- Doing “little things” in WvW should be much more rewarding instead of mindless zerging. It’s more challenging and expensive to go solo or in small group. You get rolled over a lot unless you play trollmode thief etc. Zerging gives you at least 10 times more badges and gold compared to roaming. That’s way too much when you compare skill and dedication required. Fun is just not enough to keep it going forever.
- PvP REALLY. wtf. There’s no rewards in pvp. Why would anyone do it except for testing builds before getting exo gear for wvw. There is just no real reason except if you are in endless queue for wvw on medium/high pop server. All you possibly get is random skins you can only use in pvp areas. Or you want useless title. That’s just too lame.
- Precursor and whatever neat loot. They’re just too random. Really. If I want to make legendary x I should be able to work forward to get one, eventually. It’s just too random just to hear some random guy got 2 precursors from mystic lottery in 10 minutes after he played maybe 2 months or whatanot. I understand it probably needs to be random if they can drop everywhere but chances are way off limits, especially if your playstyle is not producing much loot over time. This also goes for normal rare and exotic drops. They’re extremely rare unless you grind with magic find or whatever.

Also this game should have much more open pvp areas or whatsoever but that’s another story. Generally I am just enjoying 2 different areas in game, hello world.

The best roaming classes happen to be your 1v1 counters. D/P thieves with shadow arts or S/D thieves with shadow arts. Phantasm mesmers. BM rangers, Engineers.

you can usually keel errything else though so it’s not that bad.

i went to swtor for a while it was ok despite horrible interface which was lol pay to use. but story of swtor was nice and playable unlike gw2 story which is horrible. storywise any other mmo is better than gw2 i think. they should really invest into making story something else than funny crap. it would make pve 100 times more interesting. i like to claim a big portion of people and not looking for funny teddy bears when they look for a fantasy adventure. and this is exactly what we get at the moment, teddy bear adventures.

i also tried neverwinter beta but gameplay felt so horrible i couldn’t play it for more than maybe 1 hour until i figured out it will probably never be at the level of gw2 in any way. quest grinding also felt pretty horrible.

have to say one thing they’ve made right here imho is the interface, skills and traits in general. it just feels intuitive and works in most parts even though balance needs some work in pvp.

on other hand gw2 lacks in story and some other parts like where the h are our guild halls??? or more pvp options like in gw1 for example. i hope we see improvement some day soon.

i don’t really get this ranger pet dmg either. they’re not dmg kings even with pet dmg traits and skills. if warrior is inferior to pet that only means warriors are crap like they are. some pets -may- need a dmg nerf but that’s probably just some types or just slight adjustment instead of dropping it by unnecessary numbers (pls don’t compare some pve farming here it doesnt/shouldnt matter, its more like AI/difficulty level question than class balance) I haven’t looked too deeply yet in warrior changes but to me it seems warrior just suffers more in terms of survivability and dps both in pvp.

orbs could give just one time bonus for everyone on the map when orb is taken to altar. maybe like 10 silver or something. once orb is taken to altar it will give no further bonuses until some other faction captures it.

supply camp could also have supply crates you could run to towers. runner would be limited like the ones running orb on that one newer pvp map. it would be less than dolyak of course, but it would give little reward like few silver to anyone who has spent x seconds near carrier or something

I think anet simply went insane if they’re going to just give thief and mesmer new condition, especially condition like that. With current mechanics you need to MOVE to avoid their attacks (which somewhat instakill you if you don’t) and now you’d just get damage for doing it. Way to go. Clever. Good work etc.

I just hope this also means thief and mesmer get a meganerf at same time. i.e. Mesmer GS loses 20% dmg and vuln from autoattack and thief loses stealth from dagger 5.
