1. npcs are okay
2. sieges are okay, except maybe placements and how to counter them at some points. currently you need to use meta tactics to counter some of them
3. sort of agree, rewards for doing difficult stuff could be higher sometimes
4. sort of agree, sometimes when you’re outnumbered and all you tend to get rolled over a lot. and you would still like to try doing something. also frontline melee characters, imho, get to that dying part more often. it’s not a big deal though.
5. no you still get too fast back into the fight so there’s little point even if you win the field since everyone will just run back from spawn way too fast. there should be more meaning for winning single battles. also get rid of teleporting to wp to save travel times.

Well I’ve max lvl mesmer but I stopped playing it because I don’t like mesmer playstyle so much.

However. I have to say they get a little bit too much everything in PvP. Okay clones fine, shatter fine… but then they also get crazy damage from GS (check yourselves it’s crazy) plus at least some confusion dmg which is much more annoying than i.e. retaliation. Some builds also do pretty insane confusion dmg.

My general complaint is a bit questionably high damage output (auto attack+handy other skills) while having ton of clones to avoid damage yourself in GS builds. This is what I noted while playing mesmer myself. Not to mention pretty powerful downed state skills. I moved to mesmer after playing necro and I was pretty amazed with downed state, heh.

Just 5 cents.

i suggest using voip/guild/party whatever if you want to have private tactical comms.

imho puzzles are part of open world pvp even if not so zergy than your ordinary keep so ppl should be able to freely spam their stuff there even if important commanders who bought a skillbook with 100g dont like it. i actually want even more jump puzzles and other minigames in wvw.

oh there’s also this funny party system which gives you more contribution to damage as long as you sort of hit enemy like once or so i guess, just if you are in party.

leaves lone ppl pretty cold with loot especially with no mf gear.

great game design.

I don’t think there’s any real need for party system in wvw except chatting with ppl maybe. Commanders only need ppl to join squad, not party, to see supplies.

ive tried necro/warrior/guardian been zerging and soloing and small group. amount of badges stay all same it’s less than 10 badges/hour average. and afaik that’s what others get too in average. Generally I get 40 badges a day from fighting actively around 6 hours a day. A good portion comes from supervisors and keep lords, they sometimes drop a badge or two. Not counting in puzzles there. An odd blueprint drop maybe once a day from npc.

Btw still a lot of ALT-F4 from representatives Seafarer’s. So sad

at some point every second VS/BT alt f4 on me sometimes i had several of them against lone me with guardian and they did alt f4 at their own supply depot.

nothing bad getting them from puzzle it takes around 10 minutes once you get into it

it’s just that badges are useless, you get few silver for buying sieges easier and you get money also in pve, paying 10 badges for pretty often used siege weapon seems pretty expensive also. and gear you get is not useful for most classes. i am surprised anet has done absolutely nothing about it even if the problem has been known since launch.

Being able to make WvW teams for more active competition for WvW oriented players would be nice. That way you could balance your team composition over timezones and select people who can actually play with you on the same map. Also rewards could be better. Or it could be a minigame inside WvW sort of thing to still keep ordinary WvW populated. It should be still somewhat casual style instead of super hardcore pvp so you could still form pretty random groups and go smash ppl with difference that ppl were somewhat preselected instead of just totally random naked guys just in for 100% world explore.

yeah it seems stupid that you need to make new party to get rid off offline players who forget to leave.

maybe make players leave party automatically IF they were in wvw when they go offline.

also it would be welcome to be able to invite players from chat with right click name…

i’ve got maybe 2 exotics in one month of wvw and I play quite a lot.

I get averagely maybe 1g profit playing mostly wvw all the free time i have.

I think it is ok that wvw reward is less than pve I can live with that. But I still think wvw rewards are quite low. Badges are much more difficult to get than dungeon badges and you don’t really get anything with them. I do contribute a lot in wvw but I get less badges than 20 minute dungeon run a day. And armor you get with them is mostly useless.

I think partial reason for bad random drops here is ridiculous MF gear and boosts. They’ve nerfed the drops so with normal combat gear you get nothing. And since there are not really so many chests in wvw… Not that I’ve gotten anything from dungeon chests ever either. Only grinding fractals here and there seems to do anything nowadays.

WvW is going to die soon if anet doesn’t start “fixing” things and game is dying otherwise too unless there’s something else to do than fractals. Grinding infinite gold makes some ppl happy but I have courage to claim that it’s not majority of us. :P

Thieves - this is getting ridiculous

Thieves in wvw are just ridiculous. I have played several classes 1v1 against thief but none of them work well even if specced SPECIALLY for fighting thieves. Now imagine how easy it is with generic setup, heh. Painfully difficult.

At least if you, by experience or some miracle have sixth sense to know when thief is going to have opening strike on you when you don’t even know he’s there, you can counter them maybe once or twice, if you’re experienced you can do that maybe 10 times. Problem is that anet’s official spam aoe and conditions doesn’t seem to work because they just stealth and heal then come at you again and eventually you will be so low hp that there’s nothing else to do there than just go downed and then they just stealth stomp you.

And don’t take me wrong I quite often do win 1v1 against thief. But it just doesn’t seem right that even less than mediocre player can come spam few buttons on you and kill you then run away in stealth whenever they feel like it.

Most annoying part is that if you can just counter them like 100 times and get bored and decide to walk off they keep pestering you forever because they’re faster than most of other ppl.

Class is just not fine as it is. Especially near infinite stealth part.

I liked trial system better I only had a slight lag once at stonemist. Which wasn’t too bad, at least we could see enemies.

How to recover from Thief stealth

My major problem is very short cooldowns. Thieves can just attack you and re-stealth while you cannot attack back.

Also some ppl don’t seem to realise it’s not a drawing problem when you don’t see them attacking. It’s a class feature. It allows some wtfspike builds to practically kill you at the moment you can finally see them.

it’s not really a bot, even though I think it’s a bit lame.

Mostly because these macroers take server space from active people.

There should be more jumping puzzles it’s fun place for smaller scale pvp.

Pity that pvp balance between classes and builds is not really good in wvw, you can get way too crazy gear and buffs compared to spvp. I wish devs would look into balancing pve gear and skills too for wvw.

As far as I’ve read originally devs meant that you’ve stability when in DS, but they decided to nerf it a little to 3 seconds and thought it was cool because no one else than necros were complaining about it. I guess it’s also because most of the time you die or DS will wear off before those 3 seconds.

Yes this seriously needs to go. Invisiblity should break when finishing or rezzing. This is even more of a problem in spvp imo, where rezzing someone will turn the whole battle even more easily.

I have no serious problem with most of other effects than stealth, however. Most of them have cooldowns and are more difficult to time and can be countered by various means i.e. you know there’s a guy standing there and doing finishing move you can just use interrupting ability or knockback or whatsoever many times until it works so there’s actually some difficulty there.

I am not too bothered about fears other classes have, but I see it as a problem that we need to use traits for fear to be remotely useful. I think by default fear durations are too short, probably because it is expected everyone would have 100% condition duration bonus, which is not the case, thanks to trait system which sort of prevents it. At this point we’re probably back at the problem with traits spread out so it’s difficult to find useful build.

Also downed fear is still bugged, geez. Most of other classes have very strong downed state defences like thief can stay invisible and teleport around and mesmer can easily kill you while downed and keeps teleporting around before you can finish him. Why I can’t have even couple seconds of more lifetime being necro if I take a trait???

I agree with MF gear removal. Let ppl have those foods if they really want to. But ofc remove the MF gear or alternatively disable MF everywhere else than explorable pve areas. Always hate to hear ppl next to me are running dungeon in full MF gear or pvp:ing in wvw with MF gear. Jesus. At least put a big red flag on ppl who have MF boosts on so I can put them on my block list.

Balance classes and fix class feature bugs, fast.

It’s not fun for longer term if everyone and their mum is playing thief or mesmer. Hit 20k and invisible finishing move k? I know thief lovers want to backstab but get out that’s not how you should do it.

Fix targeting system. Even when you disable auto-targeting game still picks wrong targets for some odd reason even it is supposed to keep at manual target k??? Allow us to ignore pets and summonded creatures just target closest player. It makes zero sense to attack any minions. First you shoot ranger but then suddenly pet wtf.

Disable right click targeting now.

Fix WvW to use PvP balance. If you can’t just make it otherwise also use only PvP gear and stuff.

spectral grasp just doesn’t work in any useful manner or reliability.

it’s great for trolling in wvw where you can try it x times until you maybe succeed to pull something down. other than that it just doesn’t work.

i have to say other NECRO skills similar to this have also problems working like DS teleport skill. it is just not fun. curious enough they seem to work for other classes much better when i’ve tried them.

Disappearing mouse pointer

I’ve problem when I am in middle of fast paced combat I lose the position of my mouse pointer.

There’s basically at least 3 reasons for this:

1. Mouse pointer turns invisible when moving mouse fast
2. When you press right click mouse pointer turns invisible
3. Certain effects like necro horn #5 makes it difficult to spot pointer. Some kind of illusion “magic”.

I would suggest that there would be at least options to disable or adjust settings for mouse so you don’t lose your mouse pointer when you need it most.

I too agree that at least fear abilities should be boosted, among other “side” traits. Not to mention fixing all the abilities that don’t work at all. You can’t notice it from start but when you get into playing necro you start wondering how wonderful it would be if your condition build could actually get max gear or everything wasn’t bugged or conditions would actually kill something else than occassional newbie with no condition removal.

You can counter thieves and i personally win very good portion of 1v1’s against them but that doesn’t mean the class is balanced. Even the most newbie thief seems to be a killing machine unless you’re on your toes every second. Wait until you run into 5 thieves in spvp. :/

I think you missed the point that there is no gap between exotics and legendary. They’re just skins. Having cool looking skin is very much different than having better stats. There’s no real need for anyone to get legendary weapons stat wise.

My problem is not only that I love the old GW1 system where you get to max level and have max gear reasonably fast without grind, but also that I am just finishing my current exotic gear after long hours within 3 months. Not to mention prec/tough/cond max gear is exotic armor plus GREEN and BLUE accessories. WTF.

Now I am told that I need to gear up AGAIN just after I am getting a hold of this. This is just ridiculous. Not to mention I have exotic gear on just one of my 4 active characters. How I am supposed to experience all classes and whatsoever if I need to grind gear for just one character all the time.

I sincerely hope this new gear does not require any grind. Avoiding any kind of grind is my only reason for playing this game. I just want to have fun teamplay with guildies or just random ppl I run into. It stops being fun when we are limited by gear and it does matter when going in dungeons or wvw. For me it seems this new gear is remarkably better than just exotics.

“epic” weapons only having better skins with same stats was a principle also in GW1 and it was all good.

Think of them as medals for your achievements than just another i win tool.

If you haven’t noticed yet you can have MAX EVERYTHING in few days if you really want, or if you play spvp you get it all instantly when you get to mists so this game is not for grinding better stuff, stat wise, pretty obviously.

What I personally look for in GW is teamplay (which could use some improvements in form of joining into teams in pve/pvp) and somewhat friendly community in general.

New skins are really really nice to get after spending so much time in game, however I am not sure if I am ever able to get legendaries because of current cost for precursors, I am really really bad at farming gold((

I think certain POI and vistas in eternal battlegrounds should be removed or moved so your side do not need to hold the castle to get those.

It is unnecessarily hard to get those currently. If you are unlucky you just have to wait a year for your server to get “lucky” and have spawn point in right place because taking those castles is very hard even if you had 50 man guild team, which is a luxury. All this just to get couple of points left. This is even harder for people who do not enjoy pvp at all.

All the borderlands castles and towers change owner quite often so that is not really a problem but these hard to get castles on EB are.

I constantly keep getting wrong targets because of this right click thing.

Not to mention we really really should have option to auto-target players (or clones) only. And for the love of god I do not understand that when I am banging righteously some target it suddenly switches into something else only because it happens to be closer. I call this pet-targeting syndroma.

There’s 2 green accessories from karma vendors and blue amulet+rings from “hidden” merchants at the end of certain events at cursed shore, all of them.

Then there is rare upgrade components you can add to them.

That’s best I’ve found this far, please do tell if someone has found better. Because outside spvp I’ve feeling that my condition build is in kind of undertaker to all those power/tough/vit tanky builds.

In addition to that pve sets are sort of completely different to spvp sets, which is kind of sad. I feel it isn’t a good thing that perfectly fine spvp set doesn’t work in wvw at all because everyone has so crazy stuff like additional accessory boosts and foods. At least the gear should be same.

I have tried mesmer, necro and warrior gameplay seriously and I think mesmer is strongest in pvp atm. You’ve a lot of useful skills and stuff and damage is really awesome.

Necromancer is fun as long as you don’t run into strong tanks who can shrug off your conditions or mesmers which are really annoying to kill etc.

Sad amount of bugs.

And traitlines not giving very flexible choices for pvp. Specifically fixed traits which you have to take if you put points in some traitline. Jagged horror is a very good example.

- Soul reaping trait fear of death, which should cause fear on downed does not work. It triggers when you die if at all.
- Downed fear skill sometimes has full cooldown when you go downed for no reason. It could be related to some skill stealing (if some class has that ability) but I have no idea why someone should have your fear stolen before you even have it.
- Shapechanging skills like plague sometimes get you stuck at your position.

Without toughness you just generally take too much damage.

Best way to get Cond/Prec/Tough Exotics?

Karma vendors at Orr temples are easiest way but those don’t have all pieces.

TA dungeon has nice runes, I like whole set. Except I am not fond of TA skins.

CM and HotW also have prec/tough/cond. However runes are not so nice I think.

(Just copy skins you like on items of course)

I don’t care about dev posts, but it would be nice if obvious bugs were fixed at first place. Then we can start whining about nerfs and boosts when our traits and skills actually work like they’re supposed to.

I give some examples:
1) polymorph gfx’s/skillbar bugged → really annoying when whole class rolls around DS
2) fear skills/traits are are bugged in some odd ways I still try to figure out → really annoying when it’s one of necro main “stuff” or at least probably most useful of all supposedly useful traits.
3) those hp/downed bugs, really.
4) Death Magic: all static traits related to minions, should be really optional. Because Jagged horror.

I am playing actively 3 other classes too but necro is most bugged by far. At least other classes seem to work like in descriptions and don’t suffer from seemingly simple and dumb bugs.
